If you don't absolutely have to install a custom ROM, you may want to keep the stock ROM and just install Xposed + modules like Gravity Box. This will get you most of the customizations/features custom ROMs have and still give you the stability of a stock ROM. That's what I did for mine moto g.

thanks

This thread has the Gravity Box module I installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554049
If you scroll down to the Installation section, 2nd paragraph:
2) Get the Xposed installer from Download section from Xposed official thread (the latest version is typically available at this link: http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk)
I got my Xposed from the official thread link in this line.

thanks

Check if GravityBox (latest from Xposed) has that option
Why not just flash a 5.0 based custom ROM in the phone and enjoy??

[Q] Installing ROMS while on lollipop

HI everyone!
I just recently installed V20a lollipop on my phone via LG OTA update, rooted it using 1 click root and installed bootloader using the method found on the MLKernel thread (run batch file > installs chinese recovery > install app to install english philz).
I was wondering, can I flash another kind of 5.0 based ROM on top of what I have now? (rooted stock w/ recovery and custom kernel) or do I have to go through several hoops like bootloader unlock? I know for sure the Optimus G requires an unlocked bootloader (my phone before this).
I was planning on flashing a 5.0 ROM i found on a random site that's built like stock android (i love stock), but I'm not sure if there are any more pre-requisites before flashing.
ADDED:
Here's the link to the site i found: http://www.unlock-bootloader.info/mp3-0/lg-g-pro-2-6052.html
If it makes any difference, my device is the international D838 16gb version.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks
what kind of rom is this? stock with original lollipop theme?

I do not think its a genuine ROM. Following is the give away:-
In tutorial it says:-
1. Install the ROM Manager on your LG G Pro 2 . Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).
ROM Manager is not compatible with GPRO2. You cannot install recovery like that on GPro 2
2. There is no AOSP/AOKP/CM/Google Stock (screenshots are for some CM type ROM) available for our device.
3. The link Tutorial Video : Easy Way To Download ROM mentioned on the page is a video for some survey filling tutorial.
Honestly I did not have the guts to check the download links.

Cyrus

Make a back up of your original ROM. Any other ROM for this tablet are dead or left on BETA. The marshmallow beta sucks, the lollipop rom is abandoned .. The ROM i posted is the latest KITKAT from Samsung and it works awesomely. If you install the Kernel its going to be even more butter smooth. Make sure you install the ROM , boot into the device, then you can reboot to the recover and install the wifi and kernel zips or else youll get a FC on menus. Good luck .

I'll check it out, so far I have not installed anything, just waiting, there is no rush, maybe over the weekend, I'll give one of the Roms a go.
I did look at that Rom a week ago, and was not able to find the links for the Rom, and does not seem that the Dev is responding, if you have links to the Rom and Gapps, that would be great,
EDIT: was able to find a link from one of the members

I will check this out also when I get back in town, so far I'm leaning towards BlissPop and STab, I don't really need the Samsung stuff, all I want is an updated version, with less crap on the Tablet, for what I use it for only.

Hello
SONY has released Marshmallow binaries, but how can i use them to have a functional rom?

Thank you

Is xposed framework available for official roms?

Hello everyone!
I've never seen people talking about xposed here so that's why I posted this thread.
Just want to know if there's any solution to run xposed on official roms?
If not, is there any custom roms with xposed working?
Thanks.

AFAIK no xposed for now...there are only 2 types of rom, Xiaomi.eu roms and Stock MIUI roms, these are the official ones.
I used xposed only one time, when i had my Galaxy Note 3 and i wouldn't recommend it, because it slows down a lot phone's performance...but it's only my POV.
I used it for 1 or 2 days, and then flashed another rom, without xposed.
If i go for xposed, i would bet on Xiaomi.eu roms, because unless someone build MIUI roms from scratch and add a compatible xposed, hardly stock roms will run xposed.
But, with the new Android P, you'll have to wait for the developer to upgrade xposed application, and see if something comes up for MIUI roms.
I read in xiaomi.eu forum that we need to wait for a special xposed version because miui is too heavily modded to run normal xposed

Thanks for the information. There're many useful modules in xposed, they're what I want.
Maybe I should try the eu rom later.
Android P is a bit far away from now on

I have no idea, I just repeated what I've read somewhere a few days ago.. Your only option for xposed is a treble Rom for now
