My wife just dropped her month-old Nexus 5. Perfect drop to completely spider-web the glass.
I think I can handle doing the repair myself, but does anybody know of a good source for a replacement screen at a reasonable price?
Googling yields a wide range of prices and sources. Hoping someone here has some personal experience they can share.
Thanks!

I would definitely buy an Original used one in good condition if I find it around $100. check ebay.

I dropped mine the other day while in the slip case and just my luck, it landed right on the top where the only exposed part of the phone is.
Now I have a nice ding in the top near the headphone jack.
I called HTC and they didn't have an exact price quote but sounds like their minimum cost is $170.
That seems a little excessive to replace the shell/case.
On the the question, has anyone seen OEM replacement shells/cases for the N1 available?
Or maybe another solution to getting my phone fixed? I was planning to sell it off in the near future when the next best thing comes out but fear that this will seriously hinder my ability to sell it for a reasonable price.
Thanks!

same problem here..
If you bought from HTC, I'd like to know the price please.
interesting solution would be to send in your phone to colorware, http://www.colorwarepc.com/p-216-nexus-one.aspx
, you can pick a color, its only 5 bucks more than 170$, and will probably make your phone cost more
Give it some time...eventually places like cnn.cn will carry every replacement part for the phone. They already have the digitizers and things like trackballs.

Damm wish they had this in the UK
Hi All,
I have searched the forum, and have not found my answer. If it is out there I can't find it using the search terms I can think of.
I dropped my Xoom wifi. Cracked the glass. I have watched a couple of the repair videos on youtube. I can do the labor. I have contacted Motorola and they are not willing to sell me the part. Motorola only offered to do the repair for me for $199. I am looking for a good supplier of Xoom parts. I have googled it and found a few suppliers of the glass/digitizer for half the price motorola will do the repair for. I have not heard of these companies before, and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them...
http://www.lingosbox.com
http://www.papadigitals.com
http://www.repairsuniverse.com
Has anyone had any experiences with these companies?
thanks for any help,
Jon
Repairs Universe is a very reputable site. Prices could be lower, but they sell high quality stuff and ship it to you fast.
thanks brandogg. I ordered the replacement glass from them last night.

No problem, from what I've seen, it's a relatively simple job, just make sure you have a can of compressed air and a micro fiber cloth on hand. Take some pics if it's not too much of a hassle and if you don't mind.
Anyone happen to know where I could buy a new digitizer? I can't seem to find any available ones for any less than $55-60.
I was hoping to not have to pay quite THAT much for just the digitizer, but I'm running out of options.
Anyone happen to have an extra one laying around that they'd be willing to sell?
That's about the price that they are. I looked for a really long time when i had to replace mine and found it for 51.99 lemme see if I can find a link in my email
www(dot)wholesalegadgetparts(dot)com/product.php?productid=20191&cat=0&page=1
Here it is...
they used to be as cheap as 39 but i could never find them in stock
Sorry I couldn't be of more helpy

I usually find a lot of good prices at
www(dot)aliexpress(dot)com
But I've never really seen them much cheaper than $50.
How can we be sure they are not fakes?
Ok guys I just ordered the cheapest lcd replacement kit(lcd+digitizer without frame) in just 1500₹(~22dollars) from eBay.
Link- https://m.ebay.in/itm/For-OnePlus-O...zer-Without-Frame-1-1-/272463439560?hash=NDY=
P.s.- I applied coupon so don't ask ques like how I got it in such less.
And it is sort of unbranded...
So my ques is that anybody tried any unbranded/generic brand lcd replacement? Is it worth the price and will it work fine? Should I cancel the order if you have better options?
I can get refund if it doesn't work but that's only in like 90% of the cases so what are your suggestions on it?
Thanks!
Looks like you could potentially end up with issues with this screen, if not now, later. If you venture over to /r/mobilerepair, the sidebar has some very good part sources. In my experience, most of the parts of ebay and amazon were "reject" parts that have been refurbished. That said, for a lot of legal reasons, it's hard to find replacement parts with oem logos. Never skimp on yourself when buying repair parts, as you really do get what you pay for in this industry.

So what do you suggest?
Delivery from aliexpress takes 20 days to here so I don't think I can actually order from that.
Finding an oem one in resilient price is challenge.

You're going to have to forget the idea of buying OEM, OEM replacement parts don't exist. The closest thing you'll find are OEM-grade or oem-equivalent. Have you ever repaired your OPO or any phone before? If not, I would suggest this one:
http://m.repairsuniverse.com/oneplus-one-lcd-touch-screen-assembly-with-frame-replacement.html
It has the frame attached, so there won't be any excessive getting or prying at glass, just transfer all the little stuff over.

Yes sir,I do have experience with repairing phones, hardware and stuff and I can easily detach lcd from the frame.
I know eBay is not that trustable but can you see the link that I have given and tell me if it looks promising.
Thanks!
Edit: How can I see if the lcd replacement is OEM-equivalent or not? By it's price, brand or what?
Because the one I have ordered on eBay is unbranded but also the link you gave, doesn't carry any brand name either.
Thanks again.
If i'm not mistaken for OPO there only two manufacturers that makes those LCD replacement...JDI (original manufacturers) and LG (if i'm not mistaken)....there no way to find out which manufacturers that makes those LCD by looking that ebay or something but you can find out when you look closer once it got in your hand....
there two way to find out whether you bought a good LCD or not....
1. look at the hardware button - none original will have a dim/fade light on hardware button....
2. screen brightness - you will notice the differences when you moved the brightness to 100% or to the lowest...

Hi to all,
I noticed that this phone has an outer glass just over the LCD screen and mine has broken after a little fall. I can't find in Italy a service for repairing as the phone comes from abroad and is out of Eu-warranty.
So I looked for a replacement in order to fix it by myself: I find a lot of "screen with frame", but as I place the order they send me back my money as "the item is no longer available" or something regarding a QC test not passed.
So then I can't find a replacement. Someone could help me to find it? And someone knows if there are any video about how to repair the screen of my Axon 10 pro (5G version)?
Thanx to all
This device has been EOL form zte for a while now, not only that its an obscure device, barely anyone knows about, so thats how much the supply chain cares for it, im not surprised you cant find replacement parts unfortunately, in the usa(my case) they are easy to find https://www.ebay.com/itm/2032431306...H8XLDWck4L_vI4a7gAYLUjTlKcuEdZOYaAmxEEALw_wcB .

Look on ebay.de - in germany spare parts are plentyful by now. 150 for the full display, 20 for the glass (beware that doing a glass replacement is hard...)
