developer is on a hiatus I think. Try other roms first. wait till the thread gets active again before flashing.

There's nothing to update. It's stock rom with a few extras. Hence no activity

See, this is where I'm a little fuzzy. Stock Google is simpy AOSP + Google's closed source apps - dialer, camera, play services, etc. What then is the difference between a ROM such as cataclysm which adds customization to the AOSP / Stock ROM and another AOSP-based ROM which adds customization, but requires you to flash Gapps in a separate package?
Is it simply that the other "non-stock AOSP-based" ROMs modify the open-sourced files within the ROM, and Cataclysm does not? But, then again, I can't imagine that the open-sourced files in Cataclysm were NOT modified in order to achieve its vast customization possibilities.

The moderator had to close the thread because of all the shenanigans going on. When Google updates, he will update the ROM, we hope, nobody has seen him but personally, after reading some of the post by people I would tell them all to go pound sand.

anyway thanks for your reply guys
i am on stock rom+xposed framework+trinity kernel..have all what a custom rom offers..but missing cataclysm inbult IncallBlocker

So use it. I am as are many others still. It's no different than stock rom update wise. You haven't had one. Nor have we

You don't flash gapps on cataclysm. Read the OP. It's stock based and updates when we get Google updates. If anything when the previous updates came out, he was the fastest to update the rom out of the roms at that time.

Actually, the thread was closed because many users couldn't keep patience as a virtue. The thread turned into a loop of questions asking "Where is atl4ntis, Will this Rom ever be updated?". Mod said It would open upon Developer's request.

Developers are not required to be active in their threads. People kept trolling and requesting his presence even though his rom was setup just like he said it would be. He updated the Nexus 4 cataclysm when kitkat came out and he did the same disappearance because of stupid users. He has met every update Google has put out so far so going from actual facts he has been updating 100% of the time and has yet to fail. When Google updates and he does not then you can assume he abandoned it. Until then he has developed his stock based rom accordingly to Google updates.

And people from Nexus 4 or whatever it was he did Cataclysm for before have already said he always dissappears but re appears to update when needed

[i9500][4.4] BAM ROM - Discussion (call quality fixed?)

Hi everyone!
As someone posted this link in the CM 11 thread, I decided to check it out Mod edit Link removed
According to that page(translated through google translate) there are no bugs. *nothing on vid cam, call queality!*
Unfortunately, when trying to flash the rom, it gives a black screen. Unlike others on that page that successfully manage to flash it.
Someone try to flash it and check if the current bugs we get on CM11 are there.
BAM is a taboo in xda. And I don't think they could have solved the issues but if they actually did. We can use it.
Hi,
I checked the link and as a conclusion :
- not sure the op owned i9500 because he publied many threads in differents devices' sections.
-in all the feed back there was, no one said that he successfully flashed the bam rom.
-Anyway we can interact with one of the team who released bam rom via twitter. @iGio90

It's a no go to talk about that here at XDA

the developer and his work has being ban form Xda because he broke a bunch of rules. So, i suggest to try to ask the develper of the rom about issues you have and beware of the consequences of it, and avoid mentioning this rom around here because you might as well get some kind of warning from moderators

No foul language please. Do respect everyone here in XDA.
Here is why;
1. ROM isn't booting
2. Developer of the ROM is not giving any support here on XDA or anywhere else (If checked more closely).
3. No other developer supporting this ROM to make this work.
So what's the use of this thread? Better to be closed to avoid useless posts & discussions right?

My options are: Stock, Cataclysm Rom..

I would like to keep editing this thread with the help of all of you and make a No Updates Rom's out there!

You could try out Rastakat. There are updates every so often, but not to the point where you'll be flashing something every week.
Of course Slimkat updates stable once a month so it's not that frequent. And they are stable so you only update if you want try the new features

Where do I find the official cm11s nightlies?

I would like to use the official ones they are testing for our phone. Can someone lend me a hand?

No such thing as CM11S nightlies.
Only CM11 nightlies, which are located here: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon
Mind me asking what the difference is between the 2 cm11 Roms?

CM11S is an outdated CM11 ROM meant to be an official OEM release. It comes with Hexo CM11 theme.
CM11 updates every night, bug fixes fixed real-time pushed to you every day.

CM11S isn't really "outdated" its just the most stable release that passes the QA (Quality Assurance) test and is certified by Google.
CM11 more or less gives you a preview of what will be available in the next OTA. You can add your CM11S apps onto CM11 nightlies. http://www.cmxlog.com/11/bacon/ for the changelog.
To OP, you could have simply Google searched your answer.... next time please do that.

Only reason why I call it outdated is because when CM11 had the latest touch fix to fix ghost touches, I'm all up to my friends saying "THE TOUCHES FEELS SO GOOD U SHOULD TRY IT OH WAIT HAHAHAH".... Yeah... I'm weird.

Well... to be fair, you can use CM11S and use a custom kernel to have the new touchscreen firmware.
It just hasn't been updated because they're still working on other things other than the touchscreen firmware.
I do agree that they should do a small hotfix on that part, instead of waiting for everything all at once.

That's true, but it's more of a reason to convince people to switch from 11S to 11 or just AOSP custom roms in general.
But you're still missing out on newer potential features for the phone still only available to find on AOSP over 11S....which required a rom upgrade, like the screen artifact update.

But that's the thing.... It doesn't have screen artifacts because it doesn't have the partial display commit update in the room so kernel developers don't add that in... Right? o.o

New Kit Kat builds

Just wondering if anyone has any information about the kitkangs on android file host. I searched for d2lte and d2vzw and found them with the former search. One was resurrection remix I forgot what the other was. Both were built on the same date. I'll probably stick with lollipop but might go back if I can't get the universal moga driver to work after disabling SELinux. Or setting it to permissive. I also like the lock screen better on kk. Here's the link.

Thanks for the reply shapes, yeah, I just happened upon the two roms while looking for new Lollipops I may have missed. And was wondering why all of a sudden someone had built new KK roms for our devices. Maybe to include new updates from CM maybe? I don't know. Hence my question, I guess, I should ask the builder of the rom's themselves to find the answer.

Cataclysm Rom orphans thread

Since development on Cataclysm Rom has stopped I was wondering which roms Cataclysm Rom orphans are switching to ? I cant decide between Chroma and PureNexus
Chroma is great Pure NExus is also good. Give them both a go and pick one. I stuck with Chroma for a couple days and it was solid.
Maybe Atl4ntis will post his mod in some other way, when new source is out...
why you need to switch it now ?!
i have strong belief that Atl4ntis will come up with new mod when new factory image will arrive...he won't punish tons of loyal users just because of few morons ! :fingers-crossed:
so just have faith and wait ( if you don't have any other reason to switch the rom ,i personally don't find any reason to ditch cataclysm as of now )
what happened? Can you link me to the post, please?
I use the latest PureNexus ROM with ElementalX kernel. Very smooth and functional Android Experience. Battery is also not bad with about 5h Screen-On Time. (2G, WiFi, Messenger, Tapatalk, Feedly, Spotify)

It's a shame that on xda, developers gets so frustrated by the community to leave it every month. I would lock the thread as read only and just post links, to report bug there could be just a thread in general section

Well, cataclysm is most stable rom around.
CM nightlies are not really stable (nobody expects so), and other ROMs which are mashups of all commits "dev" managed to merge can't be stable.
does someone have tried to flash catalysm 5.jan mod to stock MMB29Q?
Such a shame Cataclysm has disappeared. I enjoyed using it when I tried it last year. Well, I'm on stock unrooted as always these days. I like custom ROMs and the idea behind it, but seamless updates and mostly stability sway me in the direction of stock.

I too am a Cataclysm orphan. I came across this thread, and am surprised I didn't see a link to the thread linked below. It is a great initiative by @magnamentis and @ben_pyett to create a support thread for users who want to keep using Cataclysm and help each other.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/info-cataclysm-mod-dead-t3307703
CataclysmMOD can indeed be flashed over Google's February Stock images, and possible later monthly Google Stock images as well.
It is quite remarkable that a ROM with such a rich feature set and so many customizations, no to mention rock solid stability, has been reduced to such a tiny mod (just 13 files plus the kernel) which can be flashed over stock images!
