Hey guys as we all know that currently Moto G is the best phone in its range So i hope it gets a good dev. support too
I see that the Galaxy Grand2 & Xperia M2 have the same chipset as Moto G . The Qualcomm MSM8226 powers all of them !
Out of curiosity, wanna know that can the Moto G get the stock Rom of these devices ported on it .
Is that possible ?
It would be a great achievement

Most likely no one will bother doing that, the best you`ll may get are port of the apps of these.
Having the same SoC doesn't mean they are easy to port or smth like that, there are tons of things that wont work and will need long hours of work to get the to woking state (not stable, just working). Also the SoC itself despite being MSM8226 in al of em, its actually different too

Lol I tried but failed on 3
4 different ports also the resolution has to be the same it doesnt really matter on the chipset just as long as its Qualcomm or snapdragon it wont really matter.
The error was "fastboot reason fall through normal boot mode"
Ive tried on these devices
Xperia z1 compact
Htc one mini
Htc Evo 4g lte kitkat
I kept getting the same error
I can possibly use the xperia m2 and maybe the grand 2 but it will be much harder because of the screen resolution on thosr devices ill try on those 2 but resizing every png to fit xhdpi is gonna be a b****

Congrats on ur new fone.. I m waiting for s3..
Swyped frm my OC'd SGSL wid BEATS AUDIO via TAPATALK 2 !!
g model?
what's the difference between g and non g models? is there only a difference with the s2 or with the Sscl too??
Free from my memory the SGSII in it's g version has an other cpu and gpu than the original SGSII. The problem is that these are slower components and additionally roms and mods made for the non g version will not work on the g version until they are ported.
So it's the same misery as it's with i9000 and i9003.

Hello guys,
I liked a lot and what to buy HTC One S, but with S4 chip.
Yesterday I bought one, but unfortunately it was with S3 chip.
Is there a possibility to understand which chip is inside without installing program(s) and without switch on the phone- from the batch number or number, placed on the box of the phone?
I need to know is there such method in case to order from abroad.
Thanks in advance to all help provided.
Best regards.
Please anyone help me.
Or at least give me an advice from which European countries it will be most probably to receive HTC One S with S4 processor?
Thanks.
The box will say dual core 1.5ghz for s4 and 1.7ghz for s3. Also you can boot into bootloader (hold power+volume up) ville is s4 Ville c2 is s3

Will the custom roms and kernels work on the moto g 2nd generations as well??
The new Moto G 2014 hasn't got any new things but screen size and dual speakers and camera.
Can anyone help regarding the confusion of firmwares or threads with the old moto g(if the custom firmwares of the old one won't work).
Custom Recovery
Old Moto G custom recoveries are not working. Boot up failed. Plz upload valid device specific recovery. Help for rooting!!!

Forget about to use Moto G stuff on Moto G2 for now, it uses another bootloader version. And probably most of the old stuff will never work until someone make a porting. If you want to use old stuff just get an old Moto G, which is better imho. Anyway there is a specific forum section for the new G2 where you can ask and discuss about it:

Few days ago, i bought a new phone from a relatively new company called lyf in India. They source their phones from zte, so either zte manufactures them, or rebrand the existing model for lyf. The phone does have some GUI elements of cyanogenmod to it(photos attached), since i don't think ZTE has mostly stock UI which this phone has . I tried rooting the home through apps but since the kernel is relatively new, apps couldn't find a venerability. Could someone help me with rooting this phone?
Specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
1 gb RAM
16gb internal

+1 for root request
Have you tried the XDA standard rooting method? (Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry)
Try it with the latest version and let us know.
I think this might help

I also have a Lyf phone, but it's Flame 7 . And me too didn't find any way to root my phone. Since I tried to root this device with Kingroot, the recovery mode is now not showing up.
The PC also not recognizing this phone. I have installed all drivers for this device but still no way.

Well, it's 2018 now.. and you can just unlock your bootloader yourself (via lg's website), so why do we need a petition ?
