[Q] KatKiss 4.4.2 trouble verifying location - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i`m using latest KatKiss on my tf101 and i love it , so thanks to all you Dev`s for your outstanding work !
I run into 1 problem tho when trying to use the app ; Mlb com at Bat.
When trying to watch a stream or video i get error mess. : At Bat is having trouble verifying your location.
All location services are switched on , Also in appops everything looks normal (switched on).
Had the problem on #22 and now on #23 it still not working :crying:
Am i missing anything ?
Thanks for your time.

Turn off "Mock Locations"
I had the same problem with CyanogenMod 4.4.2 on a Nook HD+.
Google (a couple of hits) said you must turn off "Allow mock locations" in Settings>Developer Options, which I couldn't find.
Google then said "in Settings, go to About Tablet (or About This Device or whatever) and tap on "Build Number" repeatedly." After about 10 touches, "Developer Options" was enabled (it showed up in the Settings left hand column), and I could turn off "Allow mock locations". At Bat began working.
Damn, it's so obvious. Why didn't I think of that?

thnx , i thought i was missing something . :good:

no GPS device problem - HELP!!!

I have HTC touch pro for a week now. dutch interface, cause I live in Belgium
and here is the problem I have.
in TOMTOM 7 I get "no GPS device" and the small black/yellow ball in the upper right corner does not rotate. by clicking on "configure" button I've tried "built in receiver" and the "other NMEA GPS receiver" with "GPS baud rate" 4800 and 9600 with COM4 port. In the settings of HTC in system -> "External GPS" in the first tab I've selected COM4 in the 2nd none for port and baud rate 4800 and the last the 3rd: I checked automatic GPS configuration. none of this is working.. the same message "no GPS device"
the same problem is in the "google maps", no GPS receiver found
but here, when I change the settings in "external GPS" in the first tab from COM4 port to none and the rest as described before, the HTC tells me that there is a problem to find satelites after 10minutes of search. no messages that the device was not found. but I've tried that one on the move in my car. and on the balcony.
PLEASE HELP!!! SOS!!!

Okey, I know you probably dont want to hear this, but the last thing is to do a hard reset!
If that doesnt work, then you probably should send it for repairs!

don't understand what you mean, is it the "country settings" with a worldball as the icon? I putted it to French (Belgium)
or if it's something else, where do I find it?
PS: I'm a whole new user in the world of Mobile Windows and PDA, till today I have used only Nokia's with symbian OS.
DONE
A hard reset did the job. the GPS device has been found by TOMTOM and the satelites allso.
but I lost my 3d touch flow. the mainscreen is just an empty screen now. and I can't check the box 3d touch flow in (settings - today screen - items) like they say in FAQ on HTC website

Did you let it finish installing everything after configuring the screen?
If not, then manilla (Touch flow 3D) is not installed!
You simply need to hard reset again, then after configuring the screen and you tap to enter wm, it will start count down from 3 sec, then it will begin installing everything to factory default, let it finish and you should have the Touch 3D after a restart!
Let us know if it helps!

[SOLVED][GUIDE] Samsung B7320 Omnia Pro - FAST GPS - Google Maps OPTIMIZED settings -

I have been using this phone over a year now, and I have re flashed it at least 10 times, every time to get a taste of a new rom for this phone(currently running 6.5.3), although this phone is cool, but gets sluggish, some time, though I managed to tweak it to work fast, which I will be discussing in later threads, in this thread I am going to answer a simple problem, where the users are unable to use GPS with Google maps to get exact pin-point directions. I found a flaw in the settings, and this generated either "GPS signal too weak" or did not get the right lock. After this setting, you will gain a lock on the satellites almost instantaneously, when you're under the open sky.
SO HERE IS THE TWEAK:
START GOOGLE MAPS APPLICATION.
GO TO MENU (RIGHT SOFT KEY)
ENTER SETTINGS
SELECT "GPS SETTINGS..."
NOW HERE BY DEFAULT IT SAYS "MANAGED BY WINDOWS" CHANGE THIS TO "SET MANUALLY"
SET COM PORT TO "COM3:" AND BAUD RATE TO "9600"
SELECT OKAY, CLICK ON "USE GPS" (SO THAT THE TICK BECOMES GREEN.)
RESTART GOOGLE MAPS, ENJOY.
Google knows everything even on the roads, even in cities like New Delhi, which are densely populated, there was ever this incidence that this device and this awesome technology failed me, it is great to have such tool in your pocket.
PM me for any other queries for this phone.
Cheers
can install any other os on it ?

Weather Location, Alternate Geodecoder

I was just playing w/my weather settings (I use BW) and noticed under settings/advanced a check box option that says "alternate geodecoder" "improve location names in some cases".
I tried it and upon going back to home screen where the weather is it's finally correct, instead of saying "Massachusetts" or "Massachusetts, Massachusetts" it has my town.
Looked on the forum for this same word (geodecoder) and couldn't find anything on this. I had previously also unchecked the "allow mock locations" and that didn't work for me.
No idea how long this will work for, will report back if anything changes. I tried it with my wifi on as well as w/the 4G (which I have 100% coverage) and both have successfully pulled my town up.
I'm running M0N0LITHTH3ORY 1.0 - not sure if the fact that I'm running sense and/or gingerbread makes a difference, I did NOT try this when I was running either CM7 or A50PTH3ORY

WiFi Auto Connects to Any Open Network

So my wifi scans and then autoconnects to any unprotected open wifi network. I live in a city so this means every museum, coffee shop, hotspot, etc., that I pass, the phone auto connects temporarily to that network only to tell me after that it 'smart disconnected' because the signal strength dropped (as I, for example, keep walking down the street).
Some solutions online suggest turning off wifi when I leave my house (not an option), forgetting each network it does this to (not practical), and pulling up an advanced menu that doesn't appear to exist in our touchwiz version of marshmallow.
Anyone have any ideas? I only want to connect to a network automatically if I previously entered a password for it. This is how every other android phone I ever owned did it.
If you go to settings > wifi > more > advanced. You can turn off "network notification" and "hotspot 2.0" that should fix it.

WiFi Notifications was already off and I don't have hotspot 2.0 (I am on verizon and it looks like they may call it "Passport"), but that is also off.
Any other ideas?
Darn. That's all I know so far. I'm still exploring this thing while trying to figure out my wfii-play store mystery.
Hopefully this isn't one of those 'features' that turns out to be a bug like getting rid of silent mode in lollipop.
Hope someone else comes up with something.
I'm having the same issue as well, but I do not have an advanced setting under more.

Same here, no advanced setting under more. S7 edge exynos Netherlands.
Some apps call for quick connect via Bluetooth and WiFi. There is a setting to disable this.. Sorry but don't remember where is it. Only hint it is hidden well.

Where is option "Allow mock locations"? :(

Ok,
just got my first ever Z5 in (it is my second Android phone - I did not like Android too much after having Galaxy S3 for few months).
Now.. I am moving from Windows Phone/Windows 10 mobile - not because I want to but because I have to .
For work purposes I need an app that is only for iOS and Android for now.
Now.... I live in Poland and Cortana is not officially available here.
However making it work in Poland is easy on Windows.
I use it quite a lot (got it on my Galaxy Tab S8.4 - no problems here?!?!?!) and want to have it on my Z5.
With Galaxy Tab all I had to do to get it was activation of VPN connection (to UK or USA), clear data from Google Store... - that is it. I was in different Google Play region.
In my Z5 this does not work, even though I do not have sim card in (still waiting for nano sim from my network).
I have enabled developer mode to mark option - "Allow mock locations", but to my surprise they are nowhere to be seen (did not have to do it on Galaxy Tab).
Instead I got "Select mock location app" but all I can choose is "com.sonymobile.mirrorlink.s...." the rest of the name is not visible
What do I do???
Under "Developer Options" / "Select mock location app"
You first need to enable "Developer Options" (you'll find, it's easy and it takes 5 seconds), then you'll need a mock location app. That one seems good: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incorporateapps.fakegps.fre&hl=en
It still does not work.
App downloaded, location set, it is working in the background, even UK VPN is on - nothing.
Google Play still show non UK location (after clearing data) and getting link to GP from search says Cortana is not compatible with my devices.
I have a sony xperia z3 mini and I have the same problem. I can not find the option "allow mock locations" and any mock location app works
