New Update for Google Play Store 4.6.16
What's New?
So, what's new in Play Store 4.6.16 compared to 4.5.10?
1-Batch install in My apps -> All tab
Update #1: Rather than batch removing (note: I'm talking about removing apps that aren't installed from the All list here, not mass uninstalling) multiple apps in My apps -> All tab, we can now mass install them. This makes installing familiar apps on new devices a whole lot easier, though still very much time-consuming. The batch remove functionality was, well, removed.

Removing apps from My apps -> All no longer jumps to the top of the list
Update #2: Previously, simply removing an app from the My apps -> All list forced you all the way back up to the top of the list, which was extremely annoying and unnecessary. No longer the case - the app now disappears from the list, but your position remains the same.
2-New Require password option
Following the recent class action lawsuit over in-app purchases, we now have a new option to always require the account password for purchases, not just once per 30 minutes. If you have kids, you should probably turn this on now.
Left: old Play Store. Right: new Play Store
3-Settings and Help finally moved to slideout nav
Settings and Help have moved - you can now find them in the slideout navigation drawer. Other Google apps were updated in a similar fashion recently, so we completely expected the Play Store to follow suit. In related news, this means that the unnecessary overflow menu on the start screen is gone.
Left: old Play Store. Right: new Play Store
4-Confusing Auto-add widgets setting renamed
The "widget" part of Auto-add widgets was really confusing since it was actually adding icons and not widgets. It's all fixed now, finally.
Left: old Play Store. Right: new Play Store
5-We can finally force Play Store self-update
Finally, we can trigger a self-update action on the Play Store itself - just tap the Build version in the settings. This will come in super handy for fresh OS installs that ship with outdated Play Stores.
6-IAPs now included in the App permissions screen
Following the IAP indicator added in the previous version, another warning about IAPs is now included in the App permissions list when you press Install.
7-Google+ +1 counts are now exact for large quantities
This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you still don't get it... drugs are bad, mkay?
Left: old Play Store. Right: new Play Store
8-Tweaked styles
Add buttons are now blue, the names are bold, and there's a white border around the profile image:
Left: old Play Store. Right: new Play Store
For those of you with multiple accounts, the account selector looks a bit different now and no longer makes all the nav items disappear:

Installing ....
Installed and working brilliantly! Wanted to clean up my All list for ages but was just to much of a hassle as it kept going to the top. Big big thank you.
Thank you! I like new version.
This new version, finally, has a lot of useful improvements. It was about time they added them
nice!
Tks
Thanks for details
Mass delete for cleanup
I still think it's ridiculous that they'v removed the option to select multiple apps to remove them from my apps list. It's cluttered with apps I'll never use again in my life. 2 steps forward 1 step back Google. Sort it out!

Last Friday I uploaded my Android app Paperless List to the Market (UK only). It's a shopping list application driven by the Tesco API . It has the usual scan barcode and search functions but with some unique features:
-Horizontal swipe gestures (only on Android 1.6 or above) or context menu to cross off items
-Manually add items
-Total price of list visible at all times
-Using chrome to phone on the Tesco.com website, products and searches can be sent straight to the phone from a PC. This works on Froyo (Android 2.2) only and requires a sign in to the Tesco.com site on the PC. More on that here: http://ubikapps.net/?p=618
-Froyo (Android 2.2) apps to SD compatible
-Action bar and dashboard design patterns utilised for quick access to main functions
Despite using the latest Android features the app runs only requires version 1.5 (cupcake) or above. I know I am not the first with a Tesco app on Android but I started development on mine before the others appeared.

Error sending to phone: ERROR (Unable to send link)
I have checked to make sure i'm on the latest version on my N1 and Chrome and the phone is registered and i've signed in and out on the chrome side of things!
Anyone else come across this

Hi bewA, thanks for trying out my app. I just tried it and its working on mine (with Chrome to phone plugin V0.3). Chrome to phone goes a bit weird sometimes if you install a new version. Try restarting Chrome and trying again. Oh and BTW for the first time you do it and have to sign in, it won't actually send the link to the phone. You have to send it a 2nd time (after signing in).
Ill give it a slap
Thanks

Hey,
This APP is amazing for someone like me who constantly forgets to buy stuff, my wife has to write me lists which I usually lose or leave at home, Now she can send stuff from home straight to my phone, which I always have on me.
(That could be a major selling point BTW, you leave work, switch on your phone & get a list of shopping.)
Keep up the great work, it's nice to finally start getting useful apps for a change instead of another stupid Fart app.
just put it on the wifes phone, it didt find tescos own brand of dog food but every thing else worked.
Cool, gonna try this out

Currently it only displays the first 20 search results (for speed). If you search for "dog food" then there are probably more than 20 results. In a future release I will change this so that you can click on a "More" button to get the next 20.
You can always scan the barcode of the product if you have it handy!

Sorry I'm only an Android developer. Learning Windows mobile is not high on my list of priorities at the moment!
I have just uploaded V1.3 to the Market. Here's the full changelog:
-Keyboard hidden when search results displayed
-Search box auto-completes using history. Use menu to clear search history
-Progress wheel aligned better
-Low pixel density devices (e.g. HTC Tattoo) supported
V1.4 is in the Market. Here's the change log:
-Offers shown in search and list highlighted in blue
-Added disclaimer dialogue box about prices being from the Tesco.com store
-Bug fix: gestures at the bottom of long lists corrected. The wrong item was getting crossed off
-Bug fix: prices for low cost products (<£1) corrected
-Various force close issues resolved
V1.5 is in the market now. Here's the change log:
-Screen now stays on when shopping list is displayed
-Bug fix: gestures in long lists no longer cross of multiple items
-Bug fix: manual items stay crossed off

Update:
Google play store frist two versions 3.46 & 3.47 mostly don not come with new ,,,,
but v3.5.15 comes.
What is new :
1. The My Apps list now stands bifurcated into two lists: INSTALLED and ALL. Go to My Apps using the Menu and you’ll be presented with INSTALLED tab, swipe left go to ALL apps list and swipe right to get back to INSTALLED apps list. As you would expect, the list apps you’ve purchased (whether under sale, or normally) but don’t have installed on the device are under ALL apps list/tab.
2. App reviews by users has received a major update too. You are now able to sort reviews — by most helpful first and newest first — and can filter the reviews for the app by the latest version of the app, and by your own device, meaning only reviews made by users who the same device you are suing will show up. Pretty nice, eh! One more thing, the device used by the user when reviewing the app is shown with the review.
3. Other little updates:
* On the ALL apps tab under My Apps, you get an option to select your Google account (only if you have more than one Google account added, of course), as a drop down, meaning you don’t have to choose it by going to settings anymore.
* All accounts you’ve added on the device show up for selection once you tap on the drop down, which shows the names of the account you’re currently using.
* Installed apps which weren’t showing in the Play Store’s earlier versions (whether that be v3.4.7, or v3.4.6) now get recognized and duly shown under my Apps’ INSTALLED tab.
*It is supposed to be auto updated if not or you do not like to wait download here :

I write in the thread that is auto updated if you read it & you may consider that I say what is new.
Get a 940 error (cannot be found) e.g. the newer XDA app.
I tried installing from my previous installs but it cannot be found on the Market (ok, Play Shop) I'm assuming that updating with an apk that isn't officially released yet is the issue?

Saw this on phandroid and thought it was worth sharing here.
If you're like me and you want to test out some of the most noticeable new features in Android 4.4 KitKat then this is for you.
I have tested cm11 alpha1 for about 30 minutes and all I can say is that it's nothing more than a proof of concept at this point (just like the alpha tag suggests).
So if you want some of the quirks of KitKat in a stable environment (any jb rom) here's a way of getting some of it.
While Google still hasn’t provided the actual launcher in the Play Store, some simple sideloading of the GoogleHome.apk we found in the Nexus 5′s factory image, along with the updated Google Search app, got everything up and running. Here’s our easy how-to on getting GEL installed and fully functional on your Android device.

First, make sure to enable the sideloading of apps by going into your device Settings > Security > and checking Unknown sources. From there download the updated Google Search and Google Home from us (linked below). Jump into your Downloads app and install both the apps you just downloaded (press the descriptions, not the check boxes), selecting “done” after every installation.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/gxv7cvpcvv79i23/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox318.apk
http://www.mediafire.com/download/3ina0fd8fwki5fo/GoogleHome.apk
From there, press the home button and select “Launcher” as your default homescreen — this is the new Google Experience Launcher. You’ll notice the always listening “Ok Google” command doesn’t work from the Google Experience Launcher. No worries, turning it on is easy.
For some, you’ll be able to swipe to the left and quickly access Google Search/Now, but if that’s not available, you’ll need to actually enable the new Google Search/Now app. It’s easy, just open the Google Search app (listed as “Google” in your app drawer) and click “Next” then “I’m in.” Once that’s taken care of, jump back to your homescreen. You’ll now be able to swipe to the left and access Google Now.
Once in Google Now, scroll all the way to the bottom and press the 3 dot menu to select Settings. From there, select “voice” > “offline speech recognition” (manage downloaded languages). Now, we’re going to work our way from the right tab, all the way to the left.
Select the Auto-Update tab from the top and choose one of the auto-update options (we recommend leaving it on “over WiFi-only”). After that, scoot over to the All tab and find English (US). You’ll notice it already says “pre-installed”. Don’t listen to it. Select English (US) anyway. From there, jump to the Installed tab and press “English (US)” where you’ll be asked to download the latest version (version 28 at the time of writing). Hit “Download” and the updated version will be downloaded and installed.
After it’s finished downloading, press the home button where you’ll notice “Ok Google” will now be displayed inside the Google Search widget. Simply speak that phrase whenever you’re on your homescreen to perform a Google Search or voice actions. That’s it. Was relatively painless, right?
Thanks, Justin!

Hello fellow XDA-Developers members!
Recently, I made a blog post(available at r3pwn.github.io) about Google's first-party apps' debugging settings. Afterwards, people asked me to make an automated app to Enable/Disable these settings menus at will.
Well, here you have it:
#DebugAllTheThings
Google Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.r3pwn.LetMeMakeYouSomeSandwiches
OR
You can grab the apk at the link below:

For those on Android "L", follow this post to fix any issues.
Changelog and FAQ will be in the second post.
Changelog:
Current version:
1.2
- Bugs squashed
- On-the-fly changing (no reboot needed, except on android L)
- Adds a check for non-rooted users
- Reports there may be some compatibility issues on Android L
- Added Newsstand Debugging
- First build uploaded to the Play Store!
- Play Store will open in a new Activity, instead of in my app, so as to avoid any confusion
Older versions:
1.1
- Safer SQLite3 check.
1.0
- Not yet published to Play Store
- Google Play Store Debugging
- Google Hangouts Debugging
- Google Play Books Debugging
- Google Play Music Debugging
- Added SQLite3 binary check
FAQ:
It says I don't have SQLite3 installed. What do I do?
You should have them installed by default, but in case you don't, you can install them with an app (not made by me). Just search "SQLite Installer for Root" and download the first app listed.
So I did everything, enabled the settings, but where are they?
You can find them in the locations listed below after opening the corresponding app(s):
Google Play Store - Open the slide-out tab. It should be below the Feedback button. It's called "Debug Settings".
Hangouts - Either hit your menu button or tap the Three-dot menu button in the top-right corner. It should be at the bottom of that list. It's called "Debug".
Play Music - Open the standard Settings menu and it should be at the bottom (Just one option about logging, pretty boring).
Play Books - Tap the Three-dot menu button in the top-right corner. It should be at the bottom of that list. It's called "Testing".
Newsstand - Open the standard Settings menu and it should be at the bottom (just one option called "Designer Mode", pretty boring).
Updated to version 1.1 for safer SQLite3 checking.
Not seeing Hangouts debug menu after rebooting and enabling on L. Thoughts? This is Hangouts v2.1.311.
Thanks for this all, it's a useful utility. This could be a splash perhaps? Haha

Yep multiple reboots with a mixture of wiping cache and data just to check.
Just chiming in to echo what everyone is saying - this isn't working in L.
Works on my S5. Thanks!!
The Play Store debug settings are nice because you can use "Clear cache and quite" to force a refresh of app updates. I've been using it for a while and also included it in an Xposed module.
Google Calendar
Haven't had any luck getting help with this question, seems like this thread is the right place to ask again. Trying to modify the default appointment time in Calendar to 30 minutes from 60 so the app acts like the web version. Poked around the code and nothing jumped out at me. Any and all thoughts appreciated.
Also, if you have a Nexus 5, check out these color notifications I made. The Nexus colors are up to date, I'll update the Google colors over the holiday.
Out of curiosity, anyone know what the "Emulate Offers Device" option does in Play Books?
And nicely done, I've been wanting something to get at those hidden menus for a while.
Hey, sorry, my modem broke and I am using Library wifi to type this post.
To all with Android L issues, I noticed these after uploading the first build and losing my wifi. I added a check for this in the next update. To fix issues with "L" compatibility, follow this guide. It was designed for Nexus 5, but works on my Nexus 7, too. I have version 1.2 built and ready to go (fixes disabling Books Debug bug) and adds more options:
- Bugs squashed
- On-the-fly changing (no reboot needed, except on android L)
- Adds a check for non-rooted users
- Reports there may be some compatibility issues on Android L
- Added Newsstand Debugging
- Will be first build uploaded to the Play Store!
- Play Store will open in a new Activity, instead of in my app, so as to avoid any confusion
Now, you may be asking "Sweet! When can I get my hands on it?!".
As I stated before, I do not have wifi. The new modem is in the mail and should be here either today, tomorrow, or the day after.
I am also continually trying to find more debugging flags. So far, no luck. Some will require Xposed to enable, and I will have MrBIMC create me an Xposed module to manage this.
The second our new modem gets set up, I will be uploading the 1.2 apk and publishing it to Play Store. The reason I can't do it now is because I do all of my building/coding/testing on my Nexus 7, which I didn't bring with me today.
I hope this answers any and all questions.
Also, to those on L, once you activate the PIE-bypass, toggle each option a few times, then the value displayed will be correct.
I just uploaded to the Play Store. It will be listed as "#DebugAllTheThings for Root".
While the application is being processed, I went ahead and uploaded build 1.2. ?

Unfortunately it looks like TheFoxute has ripped off this app (along with several other open source apps) on Google Play, with zero attribution to original authors (again). This is a well known problem with the Play store, and one reason I don't recommend using it.
So if you're looking to donate to open-source developers, know that in general "buying" from Google Play may not be supporting the developer, and worse yet, could possibly have some unwanted "extras" added by whoever changed the app and added it to Play.

Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Did not know of such cheap tricks! I will report the Play store app immediately.
EDIT: I notified both TheFoxute and the Play store support team about the infringement and the app got removed yesterday.
This badly needs an easier way to access and scroll through the records. It is so hard to tap the dots on the graph. Maybe when the info window comes up add the ability to swipe the very top to go through the records and keep the swipe at the bottom to scroll through created, deleted, changed. Or just add next and previous buttons. Also when I use the delete records from the options it does nothing, all the records are still there, and where does it save the log too also....love the concept, the UI just needs a few more options.

Thanks for the feedback!
I will be adding the UI improvements in the next version. The plot needs a refresh after data is deleted, have to fix that too.
Logging is part of the standard logcat, tag is the app package name.
Awesome, thanks. Keep up the good work.
