Hey guys,
I've rooted my phone and installed xposed. Now there is a updat from 175.44.1.en.de to 176...
Now i cant update without getting an error. And the update message is pretty annoying. If i try to installiert with twrp he always gave a error code booted up and shut down automatically and try again.
With the original recovery he doesnt update too but to loop.
Anyone have an idea how to install newest Firmware because this updatemessage shows up every 10min

Phone has just told me that an update; 'System enhancement 59.02 MB' is available, I've downloaded it, installed it and the phone has rebooted.
However... it reboots into Clockworkmod recovery so I have to select 'Reboot now'.
Aswell as producing an 'abnormal reset' error, the update is still available; it doesnt seem to have installed.
Phone has been rooted with superoneclick following HTC bootloader unlocking. As nandroid backup was not available from recovery, I installed clockworkmod recovery. Is this causing the issue? Can I stop the phone booting into recovery every time?
Help?
Please?!
you need stock recovery to get OTA updates.. flash the stock recovery and you will be fine
Thanks.

Allow me to say it better: You need a stock recovery to implement the OTA updates - you can download w/o it but must have it to install it.
How do I get stock recovery or disable/uninstall clockworkmod?

I used the all-in-one toolkit to unlock bootloader and all that good stuff. But i never flashed a recovery. Phone is rooted and everything. Is it absolutely necessary to flash the recoveries in that toolkit? What are the purposes for it? (noob status >_>) I know what the stock one is but was always wondering about the rest and if you really needed them.

Actually, I haven't done root yet to this specific phone, just for my previous ones.
Try to look in that linked thread to search for an answer.
Is this a TMO US update?
ive just got my update for my sim free carrier free one s. Im in the uk.
Not sure what the changes are supposed to bring...cant say ive noticed any difference at all yet.
This is very frustrating, it's really not happening for me.
I've unrooted & reflashed with stock recovery then downloaded update but it's still failing to install.
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("SystemUI.apk", big code)

Dammit. Is the phone getting the wrong update? Can anyone help please?

For the OTA update you will nedd to have stock recovery on your phone, bootloader relocked and a stock rom without any apps uninstalled.
Relock the bootloader?!
Why?!
HTC allow me to unlock it, so surely they should support an unlocked bootloader?

Thats most important for a sucessfull update. Had this problem with TMO Germany and after relocking the bootloader everything went fine. I used the RUU instead the OTA.
My update always stopped upon a checksum failure as long as the bootloader was unlocked. It was gone after relocking.
Someone please try skype video chat
Hello,
Can someone please see if the video chat in Skype is fixed.
Preferably someone who has already seen how bad it is before the update.
Thanks,

I finally got my update HTC One S simfree in Canada to 1.78
incase anyone cares
I got my update yesterday...maybe it's wishful thinking, but my battery seems to have improved...this moring i was left with 26% after playing all night...normally I would be down to 5%
Here's the OTA update I got today:
OTA_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.78.401.2-1.53.401.2_release_258562piuubd9lrapskwje.zip
radio
does this update contain a radio update?
Can someone separate it and post it.
If you do please state which carrier/country you got the update from.
So far no t-mo usa update. Non usa customers claim the update solves the mutitasking issue reported on engadget.com for htc one x (s)

You shouldn't relock bootloader. No need unless you're trying to get warrenty needs. You may have a bad flash. Try to redownload and flash recovery or try cwm see if you get same error.

Hi
i cant update my nexus 5 to android 4.4.4... from 4.4.3 i tried updating it automaticly with system update from the phone settings but after few seconds of instalation it says error with a dead android on screen. i tried to update it manualy from computer with nexus root toolkit it works but it says unfortunately android setting has stopped on screen and i can absolutly do nothing cause the message always pop up on screen. i returned to 4.4.3 with the same method. did some research on the xda forums and they say return to stock then update from phone, but when i returned to stock it also says unfortunatly android settings has stopped this time on 4.4.3. now i'm on 4.4.3 factory image taken from google flashed with nexus root toolkit the phone is rooted, bootloader unlocked and with a custom recovery. the phone shows me a notification to update 4.4.4 every time i open it. is there any other method to go 4.4.4 or a way to fix this android setting error ?
thanks

Just download the full rooted stock ROM in android development and flash it without wipe from recovery.
It's actually fewer steps anyway.
OTA = revert system changes and/or kernel, reboot into recovery, flash the OTA , boot to bootloader, connect to pc, fastboot flash recovery, reboot into recovery, flash supersu.
Rooted stock = reboot into recovery, flash the ROM.
No brainer really. Flashing an OTA if rooted is a fool's errand.

Did you make any modifications to the system? Xposed? Everything must go back to stock in order for OTA to be applied.

HI all, I have CM12 installed on my rooted phone and this morning when I switched it on, I got a message saying:
"WARNING: Update Cyanogen recovery is disabled. This may cause issues with updating your device. Please enable Update Cyanogen recovery in developer options"
Now, that option is off because I have my custom recovery TWRP installed on the phone, I'd like to keep that and I don't want to reinstall it after the update, so I believe I should ignore the message, but what I wanted to check with you guys is whether ignoring it will in fact cause any issues as this is the first time ever I've seen this message (this update by the way I think is the first one after installing CM12).
Any idea?
thanks
Disregard the message.
Thanks Heisenberg,
I did that but when the phone restarts trying to install the update, it goes straight into recovery mode (TWRP) and from there I don't think I can install the update, as none of the options seem to allow me to do so, see screenshot http://s23.postimg.org/6d6s7wyq3/IMG_20150625_135453.jpg
All right, I downloaded the zip from here http://cyanogen-ota-bacon.somee.com/ and tried to flash it from TWRP, but I get an error, screenshot here http://s28.postimg.org/zb06wtcpp/OTA_error.jpg, any idea why?
Same here, got an error in TWRP logs that prevented the update to install.
I'd like to avoid reflashing stock recovery only to install the update...
Heres the log: http://s29.postimg.org/njqqqlfc7/Screenshot_2015_06_25_08_49_42.png
Seems something related to outdated "build fingerprint" my device has currently 12.0-YNG1TAS17L
I guess the alternative would be to do it thru Cyanogen Recovery, but let's see what more knowledgeable members have to say as, like you, I don't want to have to reinstall TWRP and SU just for the sake of the update
Looks like you cant use the official update with TWRP. Either flash it via cyanogen recovery then flash back TWRP, or use a differnt zip for update not the official
Thanks for clarifying that davebugyi, then so be it, I'll do it thru cyanogen recovery and then reflash TWRP and probably SU as well
thanks

Yes, but if I'm not mistaken, judging from the file size, that's the whole ROM

Apparently even by enabling cyanogen recovery, I still can't get the updated installed as the phone keeps rebooting in the TWRP recovery, which is very odd.
