The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 doesn't currently support the 128 Gb micro sd card. I have tried on several occasions, utilizing software and with also making system changes to no avail. Have you been able to successfully get this to work youself? Please let us know if you have any ideas.

An idea: Have you made sure you formatted FAT32 and set the card as Primary partition?

That's how I was able to get my 64GB to work in all my other devices. Primary partition is one of those things I never thought about..I always just left it as the default "Logical". Figured it out when trying to use my card with the M.O.J.O.
If it works for you, let us know..I'm ready to run to Best Buy and buy one if it does.
2 or more people have reported that it worked with their tap pro 8.4 although it says it only supports 64g

Yes. That is why I asked if anybody has tried it on the Pro 12.2
Just received mine, it worked straight out of the retail packaging. Shows 119 GB free on the Note Pro. Looking at it on a PC, it was formatted FAT32 and had a primary partition on it.
Thanks for this. I know what I'm spending my overtime monies on.

☆☆☆Yes! Mine is showing 119 Gb free on the Note Pro as well!☆☆☆
1. You must format at FAT32.
2. You must set it as the Primary Partition.

So its working right out of the box?
Sounds like it, but if not you can use MiniTool Partition Wizard.

I sincerely doubt it will work with anything other than FAT32...Most devices don't. There may be a workaround, but I've not tested it...nor do I really need to as I don't have any large files to worry with.

Cant you just use a compressor and get the video just under 4gb? Ive done that before with full hd movies to pretty good success.

I haven't seen or heard of an Android device that handles NTFS. There might be, but usually problems with large SD cards that can't be read get fixed when they are changed from NTFS to FAT32.
Good to hear that 128gig card will work.
However, it must be a mistake of the software included in the tablet that it recognizes the card as FAT32. First reason is that the specification of FAT32 fs itself says that it supports up to 32gigs. That btw was the reason of initial problems with running 64gig, the only drivers around were propertiary drivers owned by Microsoft, until Samsung decided to include exfat drivers in all of their products (and also made it open source, which allowed developing concurrent fuse driver that offered support for other devices/aosp based roms on samsung, without need of touching the kernel).
If it is 128gig then IT IS NOT FAT32!!! Dont think that is is some variation also, coz Sandisk is a serious company and releasing card, which is formatted in fs that haven't been seen anywhere else, sounds impossible. I think it has to be exFAT (linux fs like ext4 will not be seen in windows by default, so it's not a good choice for default fs too if thinking on earning money on average users, who dont know what even linux is.
Mistake may result from the fact that 128gig cards were not available at all when the firmware was developed, and the programmer assummed somewhere, that the border is still 64gig, so the exfat drivers from kernel works well in general and sd is supported, but the procedures displaying its info go crazy coz the size is bigger than possible, some code fail in a way that was not expected and return wrong info.
If ur rooted, type in terminal:
su -c cat /proc/mounts
and look for type of fs related to your 128gig sd. Info given back by kernel may be more reliable that the one given by an high-level app.
Also, can anyone check what does windows say about fs on the card?
I guess it will say exFAT - and this will be a proper fs which you shall format your sd to, even if the samsung settings shows otherwise.
As i am planning to buy n12.2, would be glad if anyone checks it.

Actually it was his windows desktop computer that shows the sd card as fat32. This was released for mobile devices (many of which don't support exfat). SanDisk must have realized this and formatted accordingly. You can format any size storage in fat32. Just windows (USED to) limit it to 32 storage mediums. Even windows 8 can do it with a built in tool now.

Wonder if it is the windows who limited fat32 or is it a standard specification which were violated by sandisk.
Good it works.
And i understand that there IS 4gb filesize limit?
There is a 4GB limit, yes. And yes, in order for this to work in our tablet it must be formatted as FAT32 and set as a Primary partition. If upon purchase it is NOT formatted correctly, there are pieces of software available that can format large disks appropriately. My personal favorite is MiniTool Partition Wizard because it is free.

I'm curious if anyone ever tried this. I'm an avid audiobook listener, and have a large collection. It would be a pain to swap cards, so I'd rather have a larger one if it would accept it. I know that Samsung has said this was a SDHC phone, but other "SDHC" phones have had success with the 64GB cards. Anyone have a clue on this?

I have no clue, but you could use the Google Drive app or Google Books to store your collection - that way, you won't need a card.

That would be great, if I had unlimited data or constant access to wifi. I do not have the first, and at work, the wifi is locked with a password only the bosses get. I have a usb wifi adapter on my computer that will share my internet with my ad-hoc enabled devices, but alas, the charge does not have this capability either (unless my endless searching has missed something somewhere). So direct storage and access is my only chance (also, I have limited space on my computer, so storing and listening to them there is not feasible either.

well, you don't have to download all of the files at once - just one at a time. perhaps the night before you can sync the book you want to listen to your phone to have it ready the next day.

YES you absolutely can run the SanDisk 64GB class 10 micro SDXC card in your HD2. The phone does read the full 64GB and can access it all. You do have to reformat it first as it is in exFAT which can't be read. It needs to be formatted in FAT32. The kicker with that if you try to format in your PC, MS has deemed that FAT32 is 32 GB max and if you use the inbuilt format in any version of Windows, it will only format it in exFAT or NTFS. I also tried using a program called SDFormatter but it would not allow me to format in FAT32 either. I ended up using EaseUS Partion Master Home Edition, which is a free program. It worked a charm, and was very fast as well, Then I xxcopy'ed my SD card contents onto the new 64GB card and installed it in my phone. Both my WM 6.5.5 and my SD Android 2.2 are working perfectly, though the Android may be just a bit slower now and then. Both my 32GB and my 64GB are class 10s. I use XXcopy to keep a backup of my SD card on my computer, just in case. I update the backup every couple weeks or if I have updated anything significantly (which seems to be all the time with Android apps). I am running Core Cell Evo v4.1 and CoreDroid v.08. Here are the links to Partition Master http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm and XXcopy http://www.xxcopy.com/xcpydnld.htm

Sorry I was in an HD2 forum trying to post this, and the XDA system told me there were similar messages I should check out first. I was in a rush and it never occurred to me it would look for messages in other forums. I assumed it searched for similar messages in the same forum. My bad, expected the XDA system to be smarter than that. Ditto for deleting a message. I'd gladly delete the SOB but after wasting 1/2 hour I didn't have trying to figure out how the hell you to delete a message, I just gave up. I have only had my TF700 for aboutdifferently. w but while was waiting for delivery I ordered the SanDisk Micro SDXC 64 GB Class 10 card. I have never had be concerned about type, size or class working in my pc, and laptop or tablet. I admittly I have never ordered such a large card for a tablet before. I thought at the price of the TF700 it should take just about anything. That is until I read through this accessories thread that I found out differently. Can someone tell if anyone has found a way to make this card work in the tablet or the TF201 dock? Thanks

I have this same card and it works straight out of the box. Only issue is you can not use the SD card for flashing it seems. You would need to format the micro sd too FAT32 if you want too use it for that. Otherwise have another SD card like a 4gb or 15gb that is FAT 32 when you want to mess around with flashing other rom's or images through RDK.

And how about creating two partitions? A small one in FAT32 for flashing purposes and the rest in exFAT? Wouldn't that work maybe?
I got my 64gb card today. I ordered the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC class 10 uhs - I but they sent me the SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC class 10 uhs - I card. Don't know the difference between them. I glad I ordered when I did because I only paid $44.00 and now it has gone back up. So, I carefully opened the the package just in case I had to return it. Put it in the sd card adapter put it in the sd card reader on my Win 7 64bit pc. I down load a couple of 1080p hd YouTube videos and transferred them to the microSDXC SDcard. I put the card in the TF700 (with my fingers crossed) and the TF700 recognized it. I then was able to play the 2 mp4 1080p videos perfectly. I did not have to re-format, it worked right out of the box
I could be wrong but I thought I saw a commit that added ntfs and exfat compatibility to CWR. I have this same card. When I looked at the partition it had, there was 16mb of unpartitioned space before the exfat partition. I just reformatted the partition to fat32 so I could use it with twrp. However I still couldn't mount it in twrp. I reformatted the entire card this time using fat32 and leaving no unpartitioned space. It now mounts fine in twrp, but I'm tempted to reformat to exfat again and see if it works on CWR.

Since windows only offered to format upto 32Gb, so if you want anything bigger you should download Fat32format tool here:

I used MiniTool Partition Wizard. By far the best partition management software for windows 7. Oh and the maintainer for the tf700t CWR said there are some library issues preventing exfat from working correctly at the moment. Hopefully we'll be able to use exfat in the future.
my piece of advice is to make just one partition and have it be MBR (master boot record). don't do any linux or mac GUID stuff. then I formatted it as exFAT. got it working today =)
I can report that on my unlocked TF700 w/ CWM Touch recovery & CleanROM 2.4 my 64GB card just like yours works perfectly.
However - I did have some issues getting TWRP recovery to read various cards.

the SDSDQUI-064G-U46S works in my tf700 without a problem. I took it out of the packaging and placed it into the tablet, copied a 17gb bluray over (which was not fast btw) without issues.
This may be beneficial to people considering I just bought three of them for 33.60 each plus tax.
price matched amazon.ca 46.00 to bestbuy.ca at 169.99 with 10% price beat.

i bought the same card but BSPlayer cannot recognize the movie i saved. I can use the file manager though to open it and select BSPlayer to play the movie. Is yours the same? which ROM and ver do you have?
I ordered a new Sandisk 64GB SDcard but after reading many threads on the topic here, I have a question about the format. From what I've read, in order to have the card recognized by CWM and other custom recoveries, it needs to be in Fat32 format rather than exFAT. Many people have suggested that you can use a Windows based 3rd party software to properly format the card, but I don't have a SDcard reader on my PC so I'm not sure what my options are at this point. I tried searching the forums about posts from people in a similar situation (i.e no card reader on PC) but was unable to find anything. Any suggestions or ideas on what I can do to retain the full 64gb capacity and still be compatible with CWM without having access to a SDcard reader? Thanks very much.

Will need to find a PC to format it. It comes ExFat and not only recoveries won't see it but roms/kernels may not see it either. The program is guiformat. Can Google and find it easily. The site is little confusing. Click on the picture of the app and it will give you the download.

Thanks very much for the response. I was afraid that would be the case. I honestly don't know anyone who has access to a SDcard reader, so I might have to just end up returning it to Newegg for a 32gb version instead. Thanks again, I sincerely appreciate the info.

Yea. Only difference between 32 and 64 is don't need a special program for 32. Windows can do it natively. Good luck.
I realize this question may sound ridiculous, but I figured there was no harm in asking.
Is there any chance I could stick the 64gb card in my old Droid X, connect it to my PC, and then use the program you suggested to format it to FAT32? I guess I was hoping the phone could act like a SDcard reader of sorts for my PC. Thanks again.

I had a droid x but I'm not sure if it handled a 64gb but if it does you should be able to format it the way you want.I bought a $4 usb micro sd card reader for my SanDisk 64gb card and I hooked it up to my pc usb slot and used a partition program and was able to successfully format it to fat32.Have not had one problem with it being recognized by any Rom or kernel, think it gave me 59gb total after it formatted.

You hang out at Radio Shack too. I'm looking at one right now. Looks like a midgets thumb.

Thanks. I had no idea they were that cheap. If the DX idea doesn't work, I'll just stop by my local Microcenter or Best Buy and pick one up. Thanks again.
Edit: Am I correct in assuming the product linked below would do the job? If so, it's only $1.99 so I think i could manage to afford one.

Won't work from phone but go to radio shack and get cheapest one of these you can find. May be able to get with 1GB card. Take pic and show them what you want. Sorry I been busy and didn't think about it. Good call Droid. $12 max.
So I purchased a SDcard reader, hooked it up to my PC, and formatted it with the guiformat program that was recommended earlier in the thread. I set the allocation size to 65536 and left the Quick Format option checked. However, after it finished, both Windows and the S3 only show it as a 32gb card (approximately 27 GB total storage space). Is there another formatting program for Windows or any other ideas you could recommend so I can get the correct storage size (64gb)? Thanks again.

I tried using a few different programs to format the card to FAT32 but every time it still showed up as a 32gb card. I ordered it directly from Newegg so I don't think the authenticity is an issue, but I have no idea what could've caused this to happen. Regardless, I sincerely appreciate the help I got from the folks in this thread and via PM. Thanks again for your time and effort.

There's another thread detailing all the issues with exfat 64gb cards here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698672
I encountered the same "hiccup" as you pertaining to the 32 gb issue.
I ended up using a program called EaseUS Partition Master to finally get all back to normal. I wiped my sdxc partition, it did come back with some message that something didn't complete ???, but then I formatted as fat 32, primary partition, and got the entire 64gb back and so far... ( fingers crossed ),.. all seems to be working well.
With the card formatted as exfat, as soon as I got around 8 gb of music, photos, etc.. the card simply would loose its' file structure and just start acting weird. All files would still show up if I pulled the card and put in an sdxc reader on the PC... but my Galaxy S3 never would recover them properly.
This has got to be some kind of "bug" in the phone as you'll see in the other thread this problem is quite common.
For what it's worth.. I seemed to have much better luck transferring large chunks of data with the card in the reader opposed to hooked up while in the phone. ( speeds kept dropping via the phone cable )
Good luck!
Thanks for the info. I actually tried the EaseUS Partition program you referred to, but it still remained at 32gb. I ended up returning the card to Newegg and will just get a 32gb to replace it as I'd rather not have to repeat this process. Thanks again for the useful info. I sincerely appreciate it.
Sure... I vaguely remember I had to try to format as NTFS first for some reason before I got it to properly format with entire 64gb fat 32. I spent countless hours trying to work out all the bugs with this card and exfat. Samsung states the Galaxy S3 phone is compatible with it... but there is definitely an issue with file structure once you start loading it up.
Quick update:
I ended up returning my Sandisk 64GB and replaced it with a G.Skill 32GB (Class 10) that was on sale for $22 from Newegg. Surprisingly, it came already formatted as FAT32 so I didn't have to mess around with it to get it working with CWM and custom kernels. Seems to be working great so far, and is plenty fast, so I'm pretty happy with the end result. I guess it might have been nice to have an extra ~30GB, but I mainly stream all my music/video anyways, so I'll have a tough time even filling up this new card.
Thanks again to everyone who gave me their advice and input on trying to get my first SDcard formatted correctly. Even though I wasn't ultimately successful, I sincerely appreciate everyone's time & effort.

I thought the Galaxy S3 supported the 64GB sdxc card. I have been having the usual issues with it (losing communication with it in the phone but it is operational in a PC) so I wrote Samsung support and got this reply;
Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that you are having issues using the 64GB SDXC card on the Samsung Galaxy S III phone You have tried inserting the SD card on the computer without any issues, Also you mentioned that you h ave already tried formatting the Card using the phone. We do apologize for the inconvenience that these issues might have caused you.
Pleae be advise that your device lets you use a microSD™ (SD) or microSDHC card to expand available memory space. The 64GB SDXC is not comptible to be use with the Galaxy S III.
I thought they stated at one time it did support the 64GB memory.

I believe the 64GB capacity is supported but it may be that the SDXC type card is not accepted. Have you tried a standard or SDHC card instead?

I thought 64GB was only available in SDXC
From the phone manual;
Memory Card
Your device supports removable microSD™ or microSDHC™
memory cards of up to 64GB capacity, for storage of music,
pictures, videos, and other files.

I did a quick Google on it and found some SDHC cards. I did see a ton of SDXC cards but I think there are others available as well. I would post a link but XDA won't allow me to since I'm relatively new.

SDHC only supports up to 32GB I am going to answer Samaung support and ask them how they support 64GB when SDHC only supports 32GB.
The Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC) format supports cards up to 2 TB (2048 GB), compared to a limit of 32 GB for SDHC cards in the SD 2.0 specification
I assure you my 64 gig sandisk sdxc card works just fine in the S3.
I kinda missed all the issues with read problems, because when I got it was before I had an S3.
When I got it, I opened the package, put the card right into my T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Slide phone, formatted the card in settings, and have been able to use it in that and the S3 fine since.
Maybe try formatting the card in another/older phone and see what happens? I was running gingerbread on it at the time.
i really depends on which file system is compatible with yer kernel. SDXC by default uses exFAT which won't read with a stock kernel. reformatting the card in your phone will format using the FAT32 File system. FAT32 is a lot more compatible but it has it's limitations like cant copy files bigger than 4 gigs.

FAT32 works and it doesn't. When I play videos it will randomly cause the phone to hang, then reboot. Not at any consistant time into the video either. But the data stays intact.

I actually came to this forum to ask about close to the same question. I'm using the first card that pops up when searching "64 gb micro sd" on amazon, and frequently (while watching videos) the phone will crash, followed by 2 vibrations, and then it boots up again.
Do you also have problems with music saved on the card? On occasion, my phone will skip tracks and will only play a few of the songs. This only happens over bluetooth (so far), and manually clicking one of the songs on my phone causes the rest to work again.
I've also been having issues with the card in general. Sometimes mine will say it's corrupt at the top, but a simple reboot or dismount fixes it.
Please let me know if you find out anything.

The only official thing that I have from Samsung is that they support 64GB micro SD cards but they do not support the microSDXC, only the SDHC. 64GB is only available in SDXC. So I think the safest way is to go 32GB SDHC. Although from reading some prople have the 64GB SDXC working but many have problems with them, including myself. Another confusion point, San Disk says it will work. I have some older flavor of 16GB card in mine now and it has been very stable.

Thinking;
Is it possible to format the 64GB SDXC with multiple partitions? Create (2) 32GB partitions formatted FAT32 each.
I used a 64 gb micro sd sdxc out of the box on CleanRom. I formatted it on accident when trying to wipe everything preparing for a different rom. Now the sd card only reads 27.4 gb. I have seen countless threads on here and google but i am not seeing a solution. Any ideas?
does the de-odexed and odexed type of rom have anything to do with if the phone recognizes exfat or fat32 sd cards?

Uhh, not necessarily. It's primarily a kernel related issue. If you're using a TW rom that comes with the official OTA kernel then you'll have "no" problems with exFat. Synergy is one TW rom that I'm aware of which comes with exFat support courtesy of a custom kernel by a dev named Ziggy. Most custom kernels don't have exFat support. You'll have better results if your TW rom includes the stock OTA kernel, the same can't be said if it comes with a custom kernel. But exFat support is not based on whether the rom is deodexed or odexed.

That makes things a lot clearer. Thanks for the response.
I use a sandisk 64 sdxc every day with no issues. I used a windows program called EaseUS partition master to format it and its all good. Pictures, music, movies, flawless. On touchwiz and aokp ROMs. Primarily stick with leankernel.

Hello all.
Has anyone used link2sd with the shield tablet and if so does it work and also is it worth getting the 16gb version or just wait for the 32gb, I was looking forward to buying the 32gb today but then found out it has been put back till the 30/09/14:crying: and has anyone used a scandisk 128gb ultra class 10 with the tablet and are they any good

If you decide to buy, I would recommend the 32GB. I find myself shuffling games between the SD card and internal storage.
Having said that, if you plan to play tegra games be aware that the tablet still loses charge when plugged in to an outlet. Nvidia has not acknowledged this yet.

Yep I used it, and found that it worked. But, I did find that trying to flash updates that clobber root make for a stressful experience when trying to set up the tablet again.
The app puts a config file on your internal sdcard that basically makes the user partition invisible to the tablet until you get the external sdcard relinked again. Then all your apps show up again.
With the baked in solution NVidia offers, you can use the external sdcard for other stuff. With link2sd, your sdcard is your internal card.
I wouldn't mind trying foldermount to see if that differs in features and reliability.
Foldermount is my preference used both.

Interesting. I have the plus version of both, but have used link2sd as it seems to have more scope of files. I don't really want my 64gb card in 2 partitions though. You think the stock method is the best? What do you then use folder mount for

Phew, this turned out to be a long post (sorry about that).
Regarding the question about splitting your SD card
If you only want to use your 64gb card specifically as the symlinked device SSD, then you only need to put a small NTFS (from memory) partition as the first partition.
Again, it was a while ago, but I believe it only needs to be 10mb or something miniscule. link2sd then treats that as the "windows/mtp/ptp" directory, and the second partition with the remaining size formatted to EXT4 (again, read the docs: the file system type is explicitly stated) is the symlinked SSD.
Regarding your question about stock method/foldermount
I've been upgraded to an LTE 32GB, so I don't need to use this solution any more. I found that most games with a huge DLC bundle (Anomaly 2/Defenders, Sine Mora) allow you to offload the obb file to the ext sdcard anyhow.
The only advantage that could be worth investigating would be whether implementing link2sd or foldermount would allow you to continue to use the symlinked sdcard when you connect it to a PC. I seem to remember that when I did that with the stock solution, there was a caveat that some apps would stop working correctly because windows would steal the sdcard mountpoint for itself, thereby rendering the apps offloaded to the sdcard unavailable.
Summary
I would not bother unless you have a lot of large games, or heaps of local music or videos stored on your device.
So what do i do to make more than 500mb of free space available on my internal SD again, androids file move system?
Thanks for asking he write up
