Any news? Did you fix it? Cause I have same problem with my att g2. I unlocked it and took to Europe.

I'm pretty sure because you're on tmobile you're not going to get an update that is pushed by AT&T lol

How did u do it? i checked the thread which says get the new sim card from att. but in my country we don;t have att...what should i do

I had the same issue
I had my D800 unlocked on the AIO network (an AT&T subsidiary) and it would not connect to the AT&T download servers. I tried removing the sim card and using WiFi only with no success. I had to flash KitKat manually using the LG tool found on Bigfau's post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2662445
Good luck, and you will loose everything using this method.

I'm afraid you will have to root and install a custom recovery and ROM in order to get kitkat on the d800 with a non-AT&T service provider. There is plenty of info out there on how to do this but for the d800, you must downgrade your firmware to d80010d in order to root and install a custom recovery. The LG Flash Tool is what you'll need to downgrade. It's really easy to use. I aslo recommend using ioroot25 (sorry no links. I'm on mobile) to root your device and it also has all of your adb interface tools that will be used for installing your custom recovery. Again, sorry for not posting links but it should be fairly easy to find now that you know what to look for.

Almost forgot. Get into you file explorer (I use ES File Explorer) and find your service provider data and back it up. It will be a hidden file so you'll need to enable that option. Its location will be /sdcard/.data/.data -- these are your service settings so that if your service provider settings are lost in this process, you can easily restore it once it has been unlocked again. All you would do is replace the file and reboot. Again, plenty of info out there on this. Hope the vague info doesn't put you off of trying this. I'll try and get some links in here later today when I am able.

Rooting Huwawei m865C straight talk

I recently bought a huawei m865c from straight talk. I have tried several rooting methods including superoneclick, z4, gingerbreak, fastrootplus, tried to apply an update.zip from sd in recovery. I have the android SDK installed and have written a few aps and got them to come up on the phone and have checked the adb devices in cmd prompt and they work too.
If I'm not mistaken that's the ascend2. If so you might try "cricketusers " or "prepaid androids " - the root process can't be that different just because it's straight talk

yea, been to cricketusers and unleashed prepaids tried an sd card update method and a recovery.img install both failed
I've been working on a root for this phone. I was thinking if I can downgradee it successfully to 2.3.3, its easy to root from there. The problem is finding a version that the phone is capable of updating to. Using a 300MB .app it will go through the install to an extent, I'm thinking that is because of the limited space available on the phone's hardware. This is
The error message I get when using this process. So this definitely seems to be a possible root method, feel free to PM me with any info you may find.

Well, cricket had the M865 and straight talk had M865C, and there's something didn't about the straight talk one, it had no fastboot and I can't flash CWM with anything I can use with most phones.

Unlock Question

Hi!
I'm selling my Infuse and somebody ask me if the phone is unlocked. How do I know if the phone is unlocked? I know that is rooted with CM9, because I install it.
Thank you for the help.
Put a t mobile sim in it & see if it works (go to a t mobile store).
Or visit the ROM xda thread you flashed & read the op weather it unlocks it. My understanding was cm unlocks phone also

CM does not unlock your phone. There are instructions linked from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610374 that explains how to do it. This is what I did, it worked fine. I've used my phone with three carriers on two continents without any problems.

Read the comments after the guide. Not very promising.
And I don't think this is posted in the correct section.
Moved here....Thanks.
I posted it and I've successfully rooted my phone and my wife's phone via this method. Running stock rooted with xposed, greenify, adaway, and several other apps that require root.
Just trying to help out as I searched for quit some time for a quick and easy way to root 4.4.2
I used ioroot25 to successfully root my AT&T LG G2 d800 running stock ota kitkat.
Been that way for weeks.
Now, there is not, as of yet, a way to get a custom recovery on the damn thing. Not without downgrading firmware and rooting first. Basically still limited to loki support for custom recoveries.

There is a way to install a custom recovery on stock KK via autorec:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
I rooted via this method and then installed twrp with autorec on a stock out of the box KK device. No need to downgrade or anything.

WooHoo! Bonus!
It works and I didn't have to restore to old firmware first, or screw up anything. No lost data.
Thanks.
I was on d80020c, rooted it with above method and was forced to take the 20k update and kept root!

Just use IOROOT25 to root 20k, then AUTOREC to install recovery. Can't get any easier than that.

AFAIK cf auto root should still work, check one of the lollipop threads in the s5 sprint general section for the link. FWIW you can always root it if the bootloader allows you to flash unsigned packages, so unless Sprint decides to lock us out we will always have root.

I updated last night, I rooted mine by using Odin to flash TWRP, then used TWRP to flash a superuser zip. Took about 5 minutes. As stated above, cf auto root should work as well.
what's AFAIK, and FWIW?

Question for Samsung S5 SM-G900p
Hi guys,
I have a Samsung S5 with Sprint carrier (with Kitkat rooted).
Since Sprint is CDMA, I intend to install Lollipop from another carrier (Cellular one specifically for SM-g900P) available on sammobile.
My questions is if this will brick my phone and if not, will LTE/4G work?
Many thanks!

Cellular One will use different network settings. I can't say for certain, but strongly believe it won't work.
