Unlock Question - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hi!
I'm selling my Infuse and somebody ask me if the phone is unlocked. How do I know if the phone is unlocked? I know that is rooted with CM9, because I install it.
Thank you for the help.

Put a t mobile sim in it & see if it works (go to a t mobile store).
Or visit the ROM xda thread you flashed & read the op weather it unlocks it. My understanding was cm unlocks phone also

CM does not unlock your phone. There are instructions linked from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610374 that explains how to do it. This is what I did, it worked fine. I've used my phone with three carriers on two continents without any problems.

I take it you did a factory reset?
there are a ton of ways to fix this, but you should take this opportunity to flash a new ROM and upgrade to gb. Follow fbis251's GB starter pack and flash Valhalla, icbinb ki1, or audiophile. Then try again. keep your Tmobile Sim card in while you Odin. if you are still getting the same problem...I can walk you through the long way

Yeah man I did a reset and odin already it didn't work I call tmobile I regret calling they don't know ****. All I know is that I think we have to set up the tmobile network manually tell how man I'm a quick learner.
I'm currently running valhalla latest update by whitehawk

[Q] Flash - I think I am missing something

I have rooted my Verizon GS3 and Bootloader Unlocked. I have tried 2 ROMs so I think I must be missing a step or something here....
After I Flash to the JB Rom (CM10 and Liquidsmooth) when the phone reboots, I get the following:
System software not authorized
by Verizon Wireless has been
found on your phone.
Please turn off your phone
and go to the nearest
Verizon Wireless store for help.
after which I use Odin and go back to stock 4.0.4 with Root.
Anyone have any ideas that may help? Couldn't find that on the forums at all.... Thanks in advance.
You're bootloader isn't unlocked. If you're using ez unlock the new market version is not working correctly. I don't have the older version, but if you search its been posted a couple times.

Tried this a few days ago, worked well. Sucks that this phone doesn't operate on many networks in Canada.
Gonna try it later on today will post back results. Thanks for the link TC

Requested. Will post if it works.
Hm, Anyone know how I can input my SIM Unlock Code? I tried putting an invalid SIM (Rogers SIM and a Bell SIM) but I can't get to the SIM Unlock page. I also tried the 2945#*999# But it gets stuck at USSD Code running on the WIND Sim card and doesn't work on any other SIM.
Are you running a stock ROM? I did it with mine using the special menu, but I had to flash the stock ROM in order to do it.

Hi G2xer,
Thanks for sharing this great site. I am a Canadian Wind user. By following the instruction, I am able to get an unlock code to unlock my phone.
For all the Wind user out there,
If you are on CM7 based rom, you will need to restore back to stock rom first. Otherwise, you will not be able to get to the unlock screen.
Thanks,
Hi all,

I think you should take it to the carrier or a shop. They may have tools to fix that. You can also try using the kdz updater to initialize the office but not sure if it would work.

There is one method in the android development section it has been there for months and it's the first post. There are to others that have been updated since it was posted last year also in the android development section. Lastly all the methods work you just have to CAREFULLY follow directions.
Yes its hard yo find all the tight files I have Odin 307 I think do you know if that will work with the files?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will work.
Is it beanstwon method that you are referring to?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it doesn't require Odin. It is just a one click method.
Oh OK I read a lot of the comments and they are positive feedback but as I watched on this guy on YouTube his comment section are loaded with this "messed up my phone" or "don't do this this doesn't work" very little comments that said this worked for me. If this doesn't work on the first try I understand using another USB port on the computer is an option and using a different cord other than the one Samsung gives you is also an option. Is there anything to know about before doing this? This phone s my daily driver and I really don't want to have to use a prepaid phone.
And Should I also download the stock ROM not rooted before doing in case it does like some kind of soft brick?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well I have never tried the one click method as I use Odin to root my phone. So get the stock roms as backup in case you run into problems with casual.
OK thank you so much for the advice and I'll shall let you know what happens.

One more question before I do this. Will I still be able to get back to stock like usual if its a hard brick?

If you hard brick your phone you send it to jtag and pay them to get it fixed because nothing else works.
If you are feeling squeamish about the whole thing then it is probably a better idea not to do it.

Just thought you might like to know that I just used CASUAL this morning to root my galaxy s3 on Verizon build VRBMF1 with no problem. CASUAL unlocks the bootloader and installs TWRP which I like so far. Just make sure you grab the right download and if it doesn't work the first time try again with a different mirror. There's a version of it floating around out there that for some reason wouldn't work with my drivers.
Hope this helps ease your mind a little. Oh btw I probably read 1000 posts about rooting and the best method and someone claims to have bricked their with every single one of them. It's a risk we take.
