Just out of curiosity, did you Root your device? If yes, did you use a WI-FI only image? If you have not Rooted your device, maybe give some more information on the device specs to allow us to help you out even more?
Yes my Xoom is rooted. I'm using Tiamat 2.0 Rom and Tiamat Tachi Kernal

I am guessing you used this forum for the Download of your ROM for your tablet -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146153 -- and while reading it, I noticed that there are many times that solarnz says things like:
Version 2.0
Rebased off the 3.2 wifi image.
3G Support on Android 3.2
sdcard is now at /mnt/external1 and is viewable via MTP
Any application that can write to /sdcard can now write to /mnt/external1
usbOTG drives now mount at /mnt/usbOTG and act identically to the sdcard.
Now comes with the Katana 2.0 stock GPU kernel.
/MicroSD and /usbOTG synlinks to their respective locations in /mnt
Automatically modprobe all kernel modules, apart from the wireless module.
New wallpaper & charging icons
And this gives me the impression that you are maybe using a 3G Verizon Version of the ROM. I would suggest that if this is the case, you should change your ROM to a WI-FI only ROM. You obtained the Update when Verizon pushed out their latest update for the 3.1 ROMs.
Please Correct me if I am wrong on the specs of your device and I will help you as much as I can... I, too, have a Wi-Fi only Xoom tablet and just recently rooted it from 3.2 Stock From The Box to 3.2 Stock Root using this method -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170760 -- and has been working for me in the last 48 hours
I hope I helped you some, and if I did not, please let me know and I will still try and help you till the problem is fixed (or someone will come in and help )
Thank you very much!!! I didn't think I would be able to get that update cause I have WiFi only Xoom. I thought that OTA update from Verizon was over 3G or 4G network. I'll check out the link you used. I'm not too good at this. I just know how to flash roms, kernals, and themes. I paid someone to root my Xoom. Since my Xoom is rooted can I just flash a WiFi only rom or do I have to follow all the steps on 2nd link u posted?

You are quite welcome ^_^... The stupid OTA updates for Verizon push out over wifi and (have been a vain in my dev rooted phones that do not have verizon accounts attached to them) haha!
You should be able to push a rom following the steps on the forums if you have Clockwork's ROM Manager (FREE in the market place) and TRUE Super User Access (AKA Super User App to test this out). All you need to do is place a few files in certain locations and wala, you have a WI-FI only Rom installed and ready for you to use ( I would note, that you should back up your apps and files and such on the internal memory, JUST in case you want your information that you have on it now again heh...) There are many apps for the bookmarks and such if you need that kind of backing up, but make sure that you do not leave anything you can't live without on the internal memory So All I need to say now is that IF you do have Rom Manager, and IF you do have True Super User on the device, then you should be good to go if you have the WI-FI only ROM that is needed to flash the Xoom Tablet (Please look for ClockWork ROM Manager tutorials to help you with SUCH and make sure you have a stable Rom (aka looking at comments) that you want to try out ^_^!!!)
I wish you the best and the fastest way of fixing your problem, and tell your friend he needs to note a Wi-Fi only tablet ROM is not the same as a 3g tablet ROM hehe!

Some people have reported the same issue in the main JB released thread. Seems for a few people doing full wipes and re flashing has cured it, for others nothing has.
In that case could people post their experience in this thread so we can try to identify a fix.
I'm UK tab, all stock, from ICS all stock, no wipe no 5ghz...everything else fine.

In my case the device stopped seeing 5ghz access points after flashing from stock ICS to stock JB signapore rom. Several full wipes and reflashing did not fix the problem.
Flashing the JB eRobot rom fixes the issue. Flashing back to stock JB, and the problem occurs again. I have found no solution yet.
Anyone else?

2. Format system
3. Factory reset
4. Wipe cache and dalvik
5. Re-flash JB

What about
6. Factory Reset after 1-5
7. Try another router
8. Ensure router uses/transmit 5 GHz only (disable 2.4 GHz)
9. Temp disable router security and test
10. Save/backup and upgrade router firmware

Already tried multiple reset variants and two different manufacturers routers that I know are both working on 5ghz as my SGS2's see them quite happily.
The simple fact is 5ghz is not working using stock JB on my UK tab, even after resets, wipes and pretty much all variants thereof. My guess is that there's a subtle difference between the UK hardware and Singapore variant hardware, could be due to emmision limits and set during manufacture as a hardware jumper or firmware mod (firmware for specific component). 5ghz worked fine on ICS so it's definitely a change issue.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda app-developers app
We know that. We also know it's not SGS2, so don't compare apples and oranges.....
We also know it's more than likely a firmware issue....
Edit: but could be a firmware/router combination issue too (otherwise nobody with P6800 JB 4.1.2 would have it working)....
Did you try the rest of the recommendations 8, 9, 10?
Why not, and report back for the benefit of others?
That would be constructive

Had two 7.7s. After upgrade to jb of both only one had working 5GHz. No amount of wiping helped on the other. Had to restore a nandroid from the working one onto the nonworking one. Successful, with 5GHz reception on both devices. While the root cause remains unknown it is clearly a software issue.

Issues as usual
So we wanted to keep up to date, this is what happens for trying, I flashed my 7.7 (p6800) with firmware P6800DXMD3 vietnam, I never considered 5GHZ networks would stop working on jellybean. I doubt there is a simple fix anyone? I'll just live with 2.4ghz because 5ghz seems to operate similarly when I've tested it.
I did find another posting from mobility.forumsee about the note.
Samsung - Galaxy Note Wifi 5GHz Issue fix for Hong Kong
Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General - xda-developers
" If you have recently upgraded to ICS and cannot connect or see your router's 5GHz SSID, it is because Samsung used Taiwan legal channels for HK as well, You should set your router's 5GHz channle to 56, you will then see and be able to connect to your router's 5GHz channel."
Would that suggest that Vietnam and other Asian countries use different wifi channels, currently on my dual band router for 5ghz, I have 36, 40, 44, 48, I'm not sure but I tried changing the router through all the channels and none of the 5 channels are detected by the 7.7, It shows fine on other devices like the galaxy tab plus, I'm unsure which country was used on that version.
Sounds plausible/probable.
I suppose that's why it's DXMD3, meant for SE Asia, rather than XX (international).
Know idea idea why Samsung SE Asia would 'restrict' they firmware drivers though...

First I thought the issue could be caused by the choice of channels, too. But apps like "Wifi Analyzer" show in my case, that 5ghz is disabled completely on stock JB, not just some channels.

Logic says that it has to be something to do with the router....
If some have 5 GHz band working, THEN IT MUST WORK with certain routers and channels. Still, the OP has not reported any further testing like I suggested in previous posts, just to rule out any conflict between HIS 2.4/5.0 router bands, security and JB.
Users need to be more specific in their posts; router model, router bands enabled/disabled, security enabled/disabled etc etc.

I thought the same in the beginning. But at least in my case the issue is independent of any router.
On eRobot JB rom the app Wifi Analyzer gives me the option to scan at 2.4ghz or at 5ghz (and gives proper results in both cases).
On stock JB rom Wifi Analyzer only gives me the option to scan at 2.4ghz. So the app sees hardware that is not capable working on 5ghz at all and does not even give the option to scan at 5ghz.
On first sight it seems to me that it has something to do with the wifi driver. Looks like the wifi chip is not initialized correctly, or that 5ghz capability is disabled at a later point. But I don't know how this all fits together, especially given that for some users 5ghz on stock JB is working flawlessly.
(In this context I find the case of the user with two tab 7.7s interesting. One worked on 5ghz after flashing stock JB, the other one not. Then after simply copying the system from the working one to the other one via nandroid, both worked.)

I had the same experience when I did the Big Part modification and installed Omni. No radio. I tried all of the other ROMs for Big Part and only got a signal with EOS 4. With EOS 4 I only had 3G, no LTE. I have been reading about this like crazy, and have seen where people have stated that the custom ROMs made not have the radio built in, but I haven't been able to find out how to add it back or correct my situation. I have seen that other people have stated that they DO have data service after installing Big Part ROMs, so there has to be something we're missing here.
Sorry I don't have a solution. I'm hoping someone with some knowledge on the subject will chime in.

I have continued to seek out the cause of and solution to this problem. Answers from the XDA forums and the internet in general are all over the place as to the cause, but it seems that flashing back to stock is the solution that almost everyone has found success with.
We're in a bind because you can't flash a stock image back onto the BigPart partitioned Xoom. I haven't seen a method to change the Xoom back to it's stock partitions just yet soo... I'm at a loss as to what can be done as of this moment. As soon as someone in the know posts a method to restore the stock partitions I'll flash back to stock and see what happens.

I thought you might be interested. This is apparently what needs to be done to get the stock partitions back on the Xoom. Basically just going through the BigPart procedure again, but replacing the BigPart recovery with the regular one. Some time over the weekend I will probably give it a shot. I have been using my Xoom with EOS and 3G service (not very good 3G service) for a week or so now, but I would really like to get my 4G LTE back. Looks like a lot of Stingray users are having data issues with BigPart roms.

Hi everyone!
I used my unlocked LG G2 with a T-Mobile SIM card for a few days with the stock rom and the radio signal was fine. But then as it looked terrible and the performance was not so good, I decided to install the Cyanogenmod 12 nightly. After a couple hours, I realized the gps and gyroscope sensors wouldn't work, something widely known about this cell phone. I found out that flashing a different baseband would fix it, and after I did that the sensors started working again, but the signal was always intermittent and my 3g would suck.
Then I tried to flash the original baseband again because I'd rather not to rotate it than have a bad connection, however, it didn't work: the sensors don't work and the signal is still terrible.
I ran an app called Network Signal on my friend's cell phone, which is the same as mine with the stock rom. There's a tab called SERVICE'S ADVANCED that says OK on his and NO SERVICE on mine.
Does anyone have any solution or advice? Attached is my information on baseband and rom.
Thank you!!!

The problem is that you didn't know that Lollipop ROMs need the modem from JB 10C or 10O. Your modem is the KK version from 20C.
As for the signal I'm not sure what to suggest because the performance is bad in that regard. Sometimes it will drop to 2G in areas with strong LTE or Hspa+. I'm also T-mobile.

Sorry, forgot my charger at home & couldn't respond back. Anyway, it's 10D and not 10C, I keep getting all the modems mixed up. I actually reverted back to JB because I'm giving the phone to someone that doesn't like LP. Before I had vanir (LP) with the JB modem 10O.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426
If the JB & KK modems don't fix your issue, then something is wrong with your G2, or those features are currently broken in that CM12 nightly. One thing you could try is returning to stock, then root after going back to the official ATT firmware. Trying another ROM besides cm would be s good idea too.
