1 lets say if I m on kitkat kernal and kitkat rom! Then I wanna revert back to jellybean do I need to flash jb kernal first from recovery then rom ?
2 if I flash Custom kernal and rom some hardware issue arrise obviously I need to be on stock rom and stock kernal and locked bootloader! So I tried finding stock kernal for Xperia L but I failed? How to get stock kernal? Or I don't need it I can fool Sony by installing stock rom only?
Grab the ftf from the link
If you want to revert back to JB:
1. Flash the kernel using flashtool.
2. From the recovery, you can install custom Rom.
OR
If you want go back to stock, just the flash the recquired FTF

hey i'm coming from using moto milestone n i'm really confused abt something
since there was no custom kernal for milestone
1) when i root my phone do i unlock the bootloader also ?
2) when i install a rom which says it has a kernal so tht means when i flash it the custom kernal flashes as well on its own ?
3) if i install a rom n then i want another kernal, do i flash it the same way ?
1. Bootloader need to be unlocked in order to root and install custom roms.
2. Each rom comes with a kernel but you can flash other kernels on it.
3. Flashing a new rom will wipe your kernel to a stock one which comes with the rom. But you can reflash any kernel on it.
So basically unlock bootloader> root> install clockworkmod> make backup> install rom> flash kernel> install different rom> reflash favorite kernel again.
i want to flash my stock rom again... i just wanted to ask .. ishud go for normal stock rom or the bootloader removed stock rom (posted in android dev, section.) .. m currently running JANA ROM V4 ..
But why do u want to go back to stock rom. Anyway if you want to do it then flash any pure official stock firmware:good:
flash official one no need of the one with removed bootlader everthing shuld go fine
but flashing with removed bootloaderis safe, 0% chance of hard bricking
Hi all,
Since a few days I'm trying to update my Nexus 5 to Android 4.4.4 but everything I've tryed has failed !
Today I'm running stock ROM 4.4.2 + root + TWRP recovery + Xposed
What I've tryed :
_ OTA : device reboot on recovery and does nothing
_ Flash stock using the latest Nexus Rom Toolkit from Wug Refresh : device reboot on bootloader and get stuck on a "downloading..." message while PC get stuck on "downloading bootloader"
_ Flash zip from TWRP : tryed several zip, all of them has failed
I don't know what to do next, so now I'm asking your help...
Also I hope this post is in the right section !
Download vomer's stock rooted 4.4.4 rom from the development section and dirty flash it from custom recovery. This should do the job.
You can find the mentioned rooted stock in my signature, section 6.6

Before trying this custom ROM could you explain me the difference with the stock ROM and why I cannot flash the stock one ?
Is it because I have Xposed or something ?
And also after flashing the custom by vomer, can I try to flash again the stock one ?

The One which we are telling you to flash is the stock rom. Yes, it's because you have Xposed and other modules installed.. God knows what changes it has made to system.
There's no need to flash the factory images again as vomer's thread contains the stock itself.

All of your questions have already been answered, except the Vomer ROM one. While technically a custom ROM, it is only stock ROM with root. So going back to pure stock would be pointless.

No need to flash any FTF,I faced the same situation when flashing custom rom u need to Flash working kernel in fastboot mode here is the link old Twrp kernel this will fix your problem.
*Note this kernel works only in 4.4.4 D2202/12
If file is in zip format Extract the file ,you will get boot.img file.
Switch off your phone by open back cover u need to click the off hole and charge your phone.
