D800 (AT&T) KitKat GPS issues - AT&T LG G2

Had AT&T Chat push the Kit Kat update. I'm not rooted.
I've noticed when I'm using my GPS (High Accuracy), it drops out a lot. I didn't have this issue with 4.2.2. Actually, I _loved_ how consistently great the GPS was before the update.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, have you been able to resolve it?
Thanks

Driving on the highway after the KK update, with a clear and unobstructed view of clear skies, this is the best I get...

There is most definitely something screwy with the GPS now. ?

Just to make sure... because I know it's easily overlooked...
Have you set the Mode to "High Accuracy" in Settings -> General Tab -> Location ? By default the KitKat update sets it to "Battery Saving" and GPS doesn't work too well on that (I play Ingress a lot).

Yep, it's on High Accuracy.
oddly enough, it has improved a lot. I don't believe it is as good as it was, but it is much better. Not sure why it would improve over time, though.

[Q] accelerometer issue

I installed air penguin from google play, and when I tilted my tab to the right the penguin went right, so I installed another accelerometer games and the result is same. the question is : is this just an app issue or accelerometer issue?
*sorry for my bad english.
Don't worry about that. First thing you have to do is testing the accellerometer (just to be sure)
If it's bad-calibrated, you just have to re-calibrate it
Go into Settings -> Screen..
Then you have to see HOW does the accellerometer work
You can even use AndroSensor here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fivasim.androsensor&hl=it and test it
Let us know

I tried it and the accelerometer works well, I think this is just an application issue. thanks for the help
I think there is a 90 degree pivot in accelerometer for our GT7+, and with another configuration somewhere else to keep the screen orientation normal. However some apps do not work with the latter part and behave awkardly on our Tab.
I tried this game a long time ago and it did the same for me (cartoon wars too). I never found the calibration option in the menu, so when i saw this post i was like AHA how the heck did i miss it!
Anyhoo i don't see this option on the settings menu at all. So is this a just one of the quirks with this tablet/games?

Ohhh Ohhh Ohhh nice to see this! I'm wondering if it's just a P6200 option...
Hey people with P6210, do you even have no "horizontal calibration" option in Screen settings???
Please let us know...
Sent from my Galaxy Note with DarkyROM 3.3
Yes, I have a GT-P6210MAYXAR here that does have this option. That is very strange. It should be the last option on the Screen settings page, titled "Horizontal calibration." This issue is new to me.
I'm almost certain I still had that option when I was running the LA3 firmware.
I switched back to KL1 so I could run garyd9's custom kernel.

[Q] Phone thinks I'm in... Nashua??

For about the last two weeks anything on my phone that uses the cell tower positioning to figure out location keeps saying I'm in Nashua, in New Hampshire... I live in Dallas, Texas. A little ways off for sure.
My biggest problem with this is I have a weather widget on my homeacreen that I let be set based on geolocation because I live and work in two different cities. But as I said, recently it just shows Nashua.
I haven't done anything to my phone since or right before this started, so I don't even know what to look at. Any help or advice would rock.

maybe there's something wrong with the gps locating on the current rom your on, or maybe whatever app your using for the weather doesn't read the gps data correctly....have you tried finding your location with google maps and see if it locates you correctly??
Are you running the mock location option in settings/developer options, which I think is right with the rom you have listed.
Have you tried using this gps patch?
www.forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438129
Works pretty well for me, flash it everytime I flash a new rom...
I live outside of Atlanta Ga and mine tells me I'm in Warsaw occasionally. I've lived in Georgia almost twenty years and don't think there's a Warsaw around here. Poland seems like a long distance to have the weather from though. Kinda funny

Google Maps not able to find exact location (Solved)

I am not able to find a correct location with GMaps, it shows a approximate location as you can see in the screenshot, with a very large error radius, maybe a few km. I tested my GPS with GPS test and I'm able to lock up to 8 satellites. Why can't Maps find my location with GPS and uses instead the network antennas?
Is this normal behaviour?
P.S I was outside while testing and my GPS was on of course, I could see the GPS sign trying to find signal. If I turn off Google location service Maps doesn't finf my location, while GPS test says it's workink ok.

You might want to try GPS fix. It's an application that helps lock on to you're exact location. When I used it it actually pin pointed my exact address from there use the GPS after fix. It worked for me, hopefully it also will work for you. You can find GPS fix in the market. It takes awhile to lock in but it does work. At least it does for me. You should give it a try. Best of luck

Thanks man that works. Very strange though. Am I supposed to do this every time I use GPS, cause it takes at least 5 min? If I change location do I have to do it again?

Just checked, its working fine for me in California, 8:13 pm Pacific Time.
Works for my N5, N7 2012 - both running KitKat and the older HTC's running ICS - locate and ring her's at full volume.
Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

My issue isnt that it doesnt work, it's that I can't even get to the web site. I get an error 500 message when I go to the web site. It happens if I use my phone or my computer with Chrome, AOSP browser, or Internet Explorer on my PC.

mm-qcamera-daemon battery drain

Destroying my battery life. Never had this before but recently my battery has been utter crap because of this. Always have had the same setup with every ROM I've had with Franco kernel. But this is ridiculous; at this time by 1pm I'd usually have 85-90% but I'm already at 68%. Anyone else have this?

Looks like an issue with Yahoo! Messenger's voice/video plugin
Have you tried uninstalling it or configuring it?
Or do you have any other third party apps that use the camera?
It happened to me multiple times, this is caused by an app using the camera wich crash. For me it was Snapchat, it told me that it could not access the camera so I stopped the app but some hours after I saw that this "mm-qcamera-daemon" killed my battery. After a reboot everything was ok : Snapchat working correctly and no drain.
I think that if you get an app saying that the camera is not accessible, immediately reboot your phone.
it also shows up every time you take hdr photos
Seems like it's snapchat guys. It wasn't able to access camera. Reboot fixed it temporarily but this is annoying as I notice it happens a lot now. Thanks for the info.

Yes. I have this issue, since a few days, too.
There is maybe a bug or something. I found a thread where lot's of people reporting the same issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=60058
In another Thread here, I found some solution possibilities like uninstalling Google Goggles. But it didn't help me.
So if anyone founds a solution how to (manually) fix it, please report. Not using the Phone and have a battery drain of about 50% in ~5h is annoying.
Maybe someone can make an app that detects which app is causing this problem or which can kill the process!?
€dit:
I have neither snpachat nor Yahoo Messanger installed
Google just announced a fix for this bug. Android Central: Google pinpoints Nexus 5 camera/CPU usage bug, fix coming in next Android release. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwzPD-ihI
If this post helped you, feel free to click "Thanks"... Thanks!
