For about the last two weeks anything on my phone that uses the cell tower positioning to figure out location keeps saying I'm in Nashua, in New Hampshire... I live in Dallas, Texas. A little ways off for sure.
My biggest problem with this is I have a weather widget on my homeacreen that I let be set based on geolocation because I live and work in two different cities. But as I said, recently it just shows Nashua.
I haven't done anything to my phone since or right before this started, so I don't even know what to look at. Any help or advice would rock.

maybe there's something wrong with the gps locating on the current rom your on, or maybe whatever app your using for the weather doesn't read the gps data correctly....have you tried finding your location with google maps and see if it locates you correctly??
Are you running the mock location option in settings/developer options, which I think is right with the rom you have listed.
Have you tried using this gps patch?
www.forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438129
Works pretty well for me, flash it everytime I flash a new rom...
I live outside of Atlanta Ga and mine tells me I'm in Warsaw occasionally. I've lived in Georgia almost twenty years and don't think there's a Warsaw around here. Poland seems like a long distance to have the weather from though. Kinda funny

I am not able to find a correct location with GMaps, it shows a approximate location as you can see in the screenshot, with a very large error radius, maybe a few km. I tested my GPS with GPS test and I'm able to lock up to 8 satellites. Why can't Maps find my location with GPS and uses instead the network antennas?
Is this normal behaviour?
P.S I was outside while testing and my GPS was on of course, I could see the GPS sign trying to find signal. If I turn off Google location service Maps doesn't finf my location, while GPS test says it's workink ok.

You might want to try GPS fix. It's an application that helps lock on to you're exact location. When I used it it actually pin pointed my exact address from there use the GPS after fix. It worked for me, hopefully it also will work for you. You can find GPS fix in the market. It takes awhile to lock in but it does work. At least it does for me. You should give it a try. Best of luck

Thanks man that works. Very strange though. Am I supposed to do this every time I use GPS, cause it takes at least 5 min? If I change location do I have to do it again?

1-install and open
2-hit on look for apns sitting for your sim , another menu will pop to pick you apns
3- hit any one thats will pop another menu with sitting (you can apply it or GO TO ANDROID APPS SITTINGS)
AND HERE IS THE CATCH.
hit it thats when you see two apns sittings
go to the first one and apply the default or what you add
then go to second one and apply the default again .or what you
thats will fix the apns in the phone and the signal and data stays on all the time

Agreed but do you mean that data won't sleep after this?
I understand the instructions: effectively you use the suggested app to access the apn settings of your phone. it shows that there is two different apn settings, and by setting them both to default will fix the data connection problems.
I tried this, however it has had no effect on my phone. tested extensively as I am in hospital just now and haven't been off my phone.
Vodafone UK, HTC one S S4, rooted with stock 4.0.4 android.
Easiest/quickest fix I've found is to change connection type to GSM only, then back to CDMA once the phone signal resets. bloody annoying though, surprised that there isn't a fix for this yet.

I get an Error 500 message when I try and visit the web site. It happens on my Nexus 5 on LTE and my home PC.
I guess it's just me?

Just checked, its working fine for me in California, 8:13 pm Pacific Time.
Works for my N5, N7 2012 - both running KitKat and the older HTC's running ICS - locate and ring her's at full volume.
Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

My issue isnt that it doesnt work, it's that I can't even get to the web site. I get an error 500 message when I go to the web site. It happens if I use my phone or my computer with Chrome, AOSP browser, or Internet Explorer on my PC.
Had AT&T Chat push the Kit Kat update. I'm not rooted.
I've noticed when I'm using my GPS (High Accuracy), it drops out a lot. I didn't have this issue with 4.2.2. Actually, I _loved_ how consistently great the GPS was before the update.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, have you been able to resolve it?
Thanks
Driving on the highway after the KK update, with a clear and unobstructed view of clear skies, this is the best I get...

There is most definitely something screwy with the GPS now. ?

Just to make sure... because I know it's easily overlooked...
Have you set the Mode to "High Accuracy" in Settings -> General Tab -> Location ? By default the KitKat update sets it to "Battery Saving" and GPS doesn't work too well on that (I play Ingress a lot).

Yep, it's on High Accuracy.
oddly enough, it has improved a lot. I don't believe it is as good as it was, but it is much better. Not sure why it would improve over time, though.
Hi all
Hopefully this question thread is not break the rule.
Just trying to find some info and help from the community. Thank you.
It's been a while that I realize this Flip 4 have different behavior related to location reporting. As previously use Xiaomi and Realme, I never have this issue. At first, I thought there's something wrong with my Google Maps setup, then I 100% sure it's because of the phone, as I change back to my old phone the issue is disappear.
If you go to Google Maps timeline, it will show you the location history of your phone. With Flip 4, my journey is almost every time showing straight lines, it should be showing the road I drive, not straight lines like flying. See attached image.

What I did so far
- Location allowed all the time for Maps and also Google
- No battery/background restriction
- Power saving ON or OFF doesn't matter
- I intentionally open Maps and not closing it
Nothing is working, Maps timeline still showing straight lines every time I commute.
I try several phones using same account, it's positive something wrong with my phone.
Permission usage history also showing there's very minimum background usage of location, it should be periodically reporting location.
I have been using galaxy series long before maps have this feature and i thought this is normal, on every phone.

Thank for replying, but as my experience is not like that.
This is how Maps timeline look like when using Realme phone back then.
It showing the drive path, following road not straight lines like previous attachment.
