Brand new battery drained under 4 hours. Moderate usage. - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
Recently I have been experiencing issues with battery drain, which was typically drained in less than 10 hours. Therefore I have bought a new brand battery (the old one was about 1.5 years old). However, today it was drained in just mere 3-4 hours. I have used my phone to place three calls, used Chrome browser for a few minutes to google up some numbes and that was it. Nothing like playing games. The phone was recently restored to stock, so there are not that many applications installed either. Battery reports attached.
What in the world could have drained the battery so fast?
P.S. I use Samsung S3 (GT-I9300) with Android 4.3, rooted.

[Q] Battery or phone problem?

Got my galaxy 3 for 1,5 year. Light usage, GPS rarely, 3g never, wifi only to download or update, no Internet, don't spend hours talking either. Battery lasted for about three days. About a month ago I installed the GO Launcher, looked nice, just to check it out. Removed it in a couple of days. Possibly a coincidence but right after the battery's life dropped to less than a day. Well I thought it's time was up so I ordered a new one (XDA will not allow a link from me yet) cause the genuine costs about 20 euros in Greece.
When I got the battery it was half full so I charged it fully - not for 8 hours or so- and then... it lasted for about a day. Drained it completely and recharged fully...lasted one day. Downloaded Battery Calibration and calibrated ...lasted one day. Let it charge for more than eight hours and then calibrated...lasted one day. I'm fed up! Should I consider it a lousy (chinese) battery problem and look for another battery or does anyone have another idea?
Would wiping everything out and installing the ROM again make a difference? I'm using Kyrillos' 9.6 JPU

Battery Drain

I've had my G3 for about 6 weeks and until very recently, the battery lasted forever and charged quickly. Lately, the opposite. I haven't changed anything. It's not like I've left GPS on. I haven't downloaded new apps. Any ideas?
One of your apps was updated and is FUBAR.
Ughsssss

Battery problems after s3 update

Hi, I installed the S3 update over the air to my Korean S2 a couple of days ago. Everything seems fine except for issues with the battery. I Can take the watch of the charger after an overnight charge and wear it all day, powering it off before i go to bed in the evening. When i shut it down the charge can be over 50% but when i power it back on in the morning the charge is just over 10%. If i leave it powered on but not on charge the percentage will increase over the next couple of hours back to just under 50%. The problem is i can never be sure what the true state of charge is, so i am unsure whether it will last the day.
Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?
I have problem with battery. Battery is discharging really fast.
That's weird. My battery life seems pretty good. My watch has been off the charger for 5 hrs and I'm still at 94%

Yeah, it looks like that first 2-3 charging cycles were not good, but today I have really good battery life. ... So my problem is solved.
On the old firmware I could wear it 16 hours and put it back on the charger with over 60% left. Since the update I am down to 20% in four hours. I've done 2 hard and one soft reset to no avail. The battery thing on the phone app says its my watchface and I should use a dark one but I am. This, frankly, is a show stopper. I can't recharge 2 or 3 times a day. Any idea how to reinstall the R734XXU2DPG1 firmware? That worked.
Apparently a couple of recharges fixes the battery issue. Don't know why but it does. So far at least.
Hi
I just updated my gear s2 classic yesterday with the new ota, my battery doesn't even last for 2 hours now, before it gave me 1_1.5 days. In battery usage it shows 22% usage by contacts and 19% watchface even though I'm using the stock with no customization and even the background is same as default for menus.
I've denied the permission for gear plug in for contacts even then the drain is too fast.
How can we fix this, any ideas.

Battery drainage problem.

Hi,
i am using s7 edge for 1.5 years now. Suddenly for the last 2 days my phone battery started draining very fast. It reached to below 15 in 2 hours. Then i decided to fully drain the battery. But shockingly the phone was working for houra on heavy use at 1%. Now whenever i am charging the percentage is directly going to 1% in minutes but not switching off. Please helpz
I am a beginner to Android Phones I should say first up.
However, my first suspicion is that your phone might have been hacked.
Search out how to detect illegal activity by third parties on your phone. Also, check your phones CPU activity if you can.
(I will do the same and post back if I find anything).

Battery drops quickly

I both Pixel 1.5 years ago and now the battery cannot keep the charge as before.
On flight mode overnight it may drop by 20% vs 5% months ago.
My Nexus started this issue after 4 years. Are the batteries getting bad quality with new Google phones or I bough a phone sitting 2 years in same store.
Is there a way to find out when was a battery made.
its the same with literally every battery ever made, they all worsen over time. however my battery in my pixel would be roughly 3 years old and i lose almost nothing on standby so you may have an app draining your battery during standby.
same problem
Mine was doing the same thing. I think I found the problem to be Outlook. The phone would get real hot just sitting idle. My battery would only last about 4 hours. After weeks of disabling various apps, outlook seemed to be the culprit. Now, I go into settings / apps & notifications and force stop the app. I just have to manually check my email and when done, force stop outlook again. Kind of a pain. I occasionally leave outlook running and sure enough, phone runs hot and battery drain.
