[Q] Mount internal storage to linux/mac - General Questions and Answers

Hi!
I have a Samsung S4 GT-I9505 (LTE) rooted with Cyanogenmod cm-11-20140217-NIGHTLY. Recently I've delete accidentally my images from the internal memory. Now I'm trying to restore them. I have found the photorec program from testdisk but firstly I've to mount the internal memory to my computer. And that is a problem for me. Does anyone knows how to mount the internal storage of my device as mass storage in my computer in order to try the data recovery? Thanks.

[Q] Need suggestions on how to recover deleted files from the internal memory.

I have accidentally wiped my internal memory of my transformer and I am wondering if there is an application I can use to recover the deleted files from it?
I have tried hexamob recovery PRO and it doesn't detect the internal storage.
When I try to connect it to the computer over USB it shows up as a "Portable Device" in windows 7 and I am unable to use file recovery software on the computer because of this.
Is it possible to mount the internal memory over USB Mass Storage so I can try recovering the files with a windows program?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Mounting internal storage as USB mass storage

Hi Guys, is there a way to mount the galaxy s3's internal storage as a USB mass storage device? As you know, currently when you connect to the computer, there are only two options: MTP and CTP. I know there is an app that does this for the external SD Card but I need it for the internal storage.
Thanks!
I use an app called SambaDroid. Once you connect to your phone you can map it as a drive using Windows. I use SyncToy to back up my stuff regularly, and although it's a lot of steps, it works pretty well.
If anyone has found a less labor intensive method, I would love to hear it.

Help! Partitioning my tablet Internal Storage went wrong.

Just got my new Tablet ME rainbow 7 quadcore. I rooted the device and it went fine. The tablet has 1gb phone/system storage and about 4gb of Internal storage. I partitioned the internal storage using mini tool partition wizard, followed the instructions carefully and its done.
But after I rebooted my device, somehow it got messed up. The Internal storage shows 0.00b and Misc of 20kb. I tried to access it again via my pc but when i turned on the usb storage on, I cannot access it. Need help to solve this issue
Is there a way to somehow recover my internal storage or repartition it again?
Thanks alot, hopefully anyone out there can help me.

Either you use the "format sd card/storage" function from android itself or u can use a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod to revive your storage.

Seems as there is not a custom recovery for your tablet released yet. Have you tried "Settings->Storage->Format SD" ?

tried it but no format option. I ask a friend and he said that maybe I partition and format my intrenal storage to a file system that my tablet does not recognized. As a result, my tablet does not read my internal storage. Tried to connect it also to my pc but when I choose option to turn on my usb storage, it just keep reading (circling icon).
Is there a way to repartition/format my internal storage using adb commands?
or other way to access my storage using my pc?
Thnx alot

Does mini tool partition wizard show up the partition?
EDIT: Most stock recoveries / bootloader have a option so format sd card / storage. Should be worth a try.

Phone Memory and Memory Card data got erased automatically!

Hello frnds!
I am using One Plus X! I connected my phone to the computer through a usb cable! And I deleted a folder which was blank and of an app which I had uninstalled from my phone! And deleted another folder named "Storage 0" from the phone memory! But, deleting this folder made my computer hang for a minute and then automatically the drive of the phone memory and memory card of my phone automatically got ejected and then re-connected but to my surprise, all the data in the phone memory as well as memory card vanished..
What was that? I simply couldn't understand! Pls. tell me as to why all the data got deleted? And any ways to recover it? Did deleting the folder "Storage 0" was the reason for the data loss?
Pls. help friends! How can I recover the data? And moreover, what caused this data loss? So, that I may be able to prevent such horrible instance in the future...
"Storage 0" may have actually been a mount of your internal storage made by a root application or by the actual system. If you had USB Debugging on you may of had access to the folder as an admin for the phone. If this folder seemed empty it have been because it wasn't properly mounted but still connected to the system, so when you deleted it you "threw away" all your personal data. Essentially, you just did a manual wipe of your Internal Storage. Good luck trying to get all those files redownload/recreated.

Well there are recovery softwares out there but they don't always work, and sorry if it was the SD card too that could have been added on to storage 0 and I confused it with "legacy" (file for internal storage). The storage 0 file is actually the connection of both storages if that clears it up.
