Help! Partitioning my tablet Internal Storage went wrong. - General Questions and Answers

Just got my new Tablet ME rainbow 7 quadcore. I rooted the device and it went fine. The tablet has 1gb phone/system storage and about 4gb of Internal storage. I partitioned the internal storage using mini tool partition wizard, followed the instructions carefully and its done.
But after I rebooted my device, somehow it got messed up. The Internal storage shows 0.00b and Misc of 20kb. I tried to access it again via my pc but when i turned on the usb storage on, I cannot access it. Need help to solve this issue
Is there a way to somehow recover my internal storage or repartition it again?
Thanks alot, hopefully anyone out there can help me.

Either you use the "format sd card/storage" function from android itself or u can use a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod to revive your storage.

Seems as there is not a custom recovery for your tablet released yet. Have you tried "Settings->Storage->Format SD" ?

tried it but no format option. I ask a friend and he said that maybe I partition and format my intrenal storage to a file system that my tablet does not recognized. As a result, my tablet does not read my internal storage. Tried to connect it also to my pc but when I choose option to turn on my usb storage, it just keep reading (circling icon).
Is there a way to repartition/format my internal storage using adb commands?
or other way to access my storage using my pc?
Thnx alot

Does mini tool partition wizard show up the partition?
EDIT: Most stock recoveries / bootloader have a option so format sd card / storage. Should be worth a try.

How do you format Int and Ext SD from Xoom itself?

Interesting problem after updating to an ICS build but I need to format my Xoom completely and start again from scratch.
Only problem is, unlike other android versions, there doesn't seem to be an option under storage to format either of the on-board SD locations. I've tried the factory reset option but storage is still showing all my files there.
The removable card isn't a problem, I just take it out, format it and re-insert but the internal isn't giving me an option to format at all as far as I can see.
Is there a hidden method of doing this or am I being a bit thick and missing the obvious?
Thanks in advance...........

I don't think they will let you format the internal SD, but I've found it strange that they don't let you format the external one...

Don't do it. If you form Sdcard from Xoom, you will destroy your Xoom...total brick. Sdcard is internal (hard drive, if you will) and if you format that you will delete all you system settings, bootloader, os, everything.
Just wipe your data and then flash a new rom, which will overwrite whatever you want to get rid of.
Indeed it's weird - any ideas about how to format the external SD card ?
I can't seem to find an option to format the external card from within the system.

Make sure you are running HC 3.2 or higher. Anything prior to 3.2 does not allow SDcard usage.
Format your external SDcard, in your phone first. Then with the Xoom OFF, place the formatted SDcard in the Xoom and power it up. (give it a few seconds to show up in storage on your setting menu.)
(I found that formatting it in the phone ensures proper function and a lot easier.)
As always; If this was helpful, give thanks!

Mjamocha, Hows that 64 GB sdxc micro SD card working out for you.
I ordered one last week on Amazon. Should arrive tomorrow.
Anybody? I really would love the option to start clean again, a wipe of the internal SD.
Would re locking and then unlocking the boot loader accomplish this?
You could do that, but only relock if you are completely stock, with the right files for your device. Or you can do a complete wipe in fastboot mode, but you'll have to search for the exact command.

[Q] USB won't mount after TWRP wipe of Internal Storage + Android Secure

USB Storage and USB Debugging will not mount to Windows 7 PC or Mac
*I'm posting this thread because I have exhausted every option discussed on the internet*
One day I decided to wipe more than usual using TWRP. I wiped Internal Storage and Android Secure. Ever since then, I have not been able to mount USB to my PC. No PC computer on planet earth will recognize my skyrocket. "Unkown Device" is all I get. Every USB cable, every USB port, every PC, every Mac I have tried. I've tried every driver set, I've tried formatting my PC and reinstalling fresh samsung drivers, I've tried Kies, I've tried formatting my SD storage, I've fixed permissions and wiped everything known to Android. Odin will not detect the phone without working windows drivers and neither will SuperOneClick. I'm out of cards. Game over. Every other function of the device works just fine, and I've gotten by using my 64GB external SD card as a means to transfer files between PC and phone. Come to think, this all started when I put that 64gb SD card in my phone and tried to format it and everything else in TWRP. External SD card works, but nothing will mount.
Before I explore the final possibility that the USB plug on my phone is physically damaged, I'd like to know if anyone out there has had any problems with USB mounting as a result of TWRP wiping and/or External SD Card installation/formatting causing things to go awry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will donate to anyone helps me solve the issue, as I need to be able to sell this phone with a clear conscience.
Thanks!
What version of twrp are you using. I saw another post where it wouldn't mount internal with 2.4.0.0. Seems it might be an issue with that version.

It was using 2.2.3 at the time. I feel strongly that this is an issue with formatting the internal SD card via twrp while adding an external SD card to the phone. I believe the system partition responsible for mounting the phone is corrupted. Maybe a re-partition is the solution? If I could somehow restore the system partition files. I am an avid flasher but partitioning is beyond my scope. Maybe someone can point me to a guide about partitioning.

Hey man did you ever resolve this issue? I just erased a bunch of folders on my internal SD and it won't mount anymore. I'm using a Droid4 and, of course, the problem is consistent on both ROM and stock.
I guess for now I'll have to download from my dropbox account.
Cheers
I'm on the Note 2 (N7100) and have the same issue. I formatted internal storage in TWRP. Now USB is not detected on any pc. Any updates?

[Q] USB storage is not recognized by my nexus s

Yesterday I tried to partition my internal storage using minitool because I was getting a insufficient memory message from the google app store. Everything worked out fine and the partition had been created, I turned usb storage off and when I went to pull the usb cord from my nexus s I got a message saying that my internal sd card had been damaged and asked me to reformat. I dismissed the error message because I did not want to format right there but after that my phone can't detect my usb storage (16gb internal) and neither can I connect to my computer and access the files on my phone. I'm using paranoidandroid 3.00. Even when my Android debugging is on the phone still can't connect to my computer. And I've tried to unmount and mount using cwm a number of times but that isn't working either. I also tried to factory reset the phone but I still can't detect my usb storage. My phone basically says I have 0.98gb total space. I have no access to my internal storage at all. I can't flash any different roms or flash anything for that matter. My photo gallery is also saying that I have no external storage available. I need to fix this ASAP. What can I do to fix this problem?
Similar problem
I'm having a similar problem. Switched to a different phone and gave my wife NS4G, so I wiped everything, including the external storage via TWRP v2.4. No problem connecting to my PC, but on the phone in settings>storage, there was only 0.98 in Internal Storage and 2GB in USB Storage. No clue what could've caused that. Currently searching the web for answers, and will report back if I come across anything

I fixed the problem using Wugs Root Toolkit. I didn't want to just sit around and wait till a different fix just magically appeared. Basically just had to flash back to stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 using the toolkit and unroot the device and then do a factory reset. The SD card got formatted after doing all that. You should try it out. :good:

Same happened to me too when i flashed a custom rom on my P-5100 the thing is I could see my stuff with CWM recovery but no file manager would show it not even if i connect it to a computer.. I guess flashing a new rom makes a new storage drive like thingy... its normal place to store data was sdcard/data on my tab but now its sdcard/0/data this is where all your stuff is stored form that moment on but for the old stuff i didnt find a way to get it back so i had to format my sdcard using CWM recovery to remove all the old stuff take my space.. and I think you'll have to do the same too..

[Q] tf101 internal os installation without os

Hello
I wanted to install Katkiss on my tf101. I wiped all the things I had to and headed to the installation part but my tablet couldn't recognize any external SDs. I use TWRP so it should have been supported.
I could get into apx mode but I don't know if I can put files on my tab from there. My PC can't recognize the tab if I try it in an other way. So someone can please help me and give some solutions for reaching the internal SD with a USB connection?
I guess I can install the files from TWRP after it .
Any help would be appreciated. ?
If TWRP is working, put files on a microSD and install the OS. Otherwise, you will need to use APX and something like EasyFlasher to install TWRP or the stock firmware.

I have spread installed TWRP as I remember I also used EasyFlasher to do it. As I mentioned my tf101 couldn't read any SD card that's why I've asked for a hint to put the katkiss files on my internal card.
How is the microSD formatted?
Did you boot to TWRP after installing the microSD?
What version of TWRP are you running? Not all of them support ADB via USB.
My TWRP version is 2.2.1.4 and the SD card is "general hierarchical". As I know I need a FAT32 card to make it work but I couldn't find a way to format mine. If you know a way to do this than it's also good for me. I also tried a FAT32 pen drive through the keyboard but it - of course - didn't work.

I don't have a card reader and my PC didn't find the card when I tried with a phone having the SD card inside.
Do you think it might work if I format my external hdd to fat32 or the tf 101 won't recognize it?
