So we have two apps in battery drain... First is a game Royal Revolt 2 that is a tower defense 3D game that run 42minutes (not in a row) and Android system that also run for 40minutes...so both of them drain about 10% of battery... How this is possible I mean the Android system drain the same amount of battery as a 3D game?

I get about 40minutes drain on 12Hours usage (not SOT) and according to GSAM biggets drainers on Android System is ActivityManager-Launch and ConnectivityService...but im not wondering about the drain of AndroidSystem only why it drains so much as a 3D game!

I had a similar problem but I seemed to have fixed it. I am currently on Omni Rom latest nightly, installed Franco Kernel, and installed Greenify to hibernate apps that cause wake locks and run in the background continuously. Since I have done these 2 things my battery life has been much much better. Before I would be lucky to make it 8-9 hours on a single charge. Now im averaging 14+ hours. Still not amazing but better. Give these two things a try.

I have the same problem. This question will never ever be answered clearly.
Aaand..location reporting off.
10% drain on android system is not high at all, its very normal.
I have been using My phone all day so far mainly to listen to music
Android System is only 7%
Compared to the other apps I have been using all day I don't think 7% is bad so 10% may be normal. However this is over a 7 hour period.

not all games. some need less, some need more, and some games are more optimized than others. my androis system usually takes ftom 8-14% battery, and i still get 5+ hours sot.

Many things can make Android System drain go up, it's not just one process. I believe Widgets battery drain shows up here as well. How many widgets are being used and how often are they updating?

hmmm....maybe your right...if we add all the features that drain with android system and think that revolt isn't such a heavy game it make sense that they drain the same for a specific time...

Hi,
I have a nexus 5 running cyanogenmod 11 ,and for a while now I have been experiencing
some very poor battery life performance.
yesterday it went from 50% to 1% at night because of com.android.systemui and android system.
I tried installing different nightlies versions but the battery was still unstable and drained completely. :/
So today I re-installed everything and did a complete factory reset and cache partition format installing nightly 20140731 and Gapps, hoping that would help.
I charged my phone to 100% ,and then unplugged it and let Gsam battery monitor run in background with no apps working ,almost everything greenified, with WiFi off, location off and sync on.
Google now is off, brightness on low settings (no auto brightness),good data signal strength and very low usage (mostly checking whatsapp, couple of minutes of gaming, checking some stuff on chrome, but most of the time I didn't even touch the phone).
Normally this kind of usage should not make my nexus run under 90%-95%. this time it dropped to 20% ,in 4 hours...
I followed the battery troubleshooting sticky thread , and did everything I could to make the battery last.
I've uploaded the pictures of my battery usage in a rar (it doesn't let me upload all 5 pictures,so rar it is...) and I'm really hoping someone could help me solve this..
I don't want to go back to stock android, but this battery drain is intolerable.
If you need more information please ask..

It hardly tells us anything until you tap on something that has somewhat high usage/what type of wakelock is keeping your device awake. In your case it would be "System..." and "Combined App Wakelocks", you tap on those.

Considering it's a nightly, it could just be bugs. I've never actually tried nightlies because I like stability, but I suppose it is possible that there's wakelocks bugs.

I just mean in general a nightly might be unstable. Not saying you should switch to a stable CM. Just saying some bugs are expected. But regardless, I agree with the previous posters. You should click on the individual apps in that list to get more information.
Hi. I have moto g 3rd gen 2015. I just installed cm 12.1 osprey snapshot ROM yesterday(cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K2-osprey.zip).
I noticed that my battery is draining faster than before while everything before and now are same ..I mean apps.
After charging 100%, battery going down to 94% within 2 to 3 minutes. Only wifi is on. Rest is off...
Can anyone please help me? I love CM 12.1 customization. Dont want to go back to stock ROM
And I want to know if I install kernel blu spark, will it help me to get better battery life?
same problem with nighties too :/
My CPU runs about 10-12 degrees C hotter too. There are many ways to limit battery drain, just have to search for them.

I charged my phone 100% then turned it on and kept it without touching it. after 18 minutes it has lost 1% battery ! Didn't even touch it (((( No apps were in use because I use Greenify!

No Hotplugging
I used to have the same problem with CM kernel. Turned out when I checked the kernel using kernel auditor, there seems to be no CPU hotplugging features which accounts for the batter drain and the high temps. Try using blue sparks kernel. Its MUCH better for battery and temps.

I'm on the 11/18 nightly and have battery comparable, if not better, than stock. No custom kernels. Bluetooth and wireless always on. GPS always on, device only. Standby excellent. Always used delta gapps. I deny Google data access on what I can (history, location, ect), but let sync on contacts, calendar, keep, ect. No greenify or anything like that. Email sync on auto push.
My use today at 12 hrs (730am-745pm) is 1.5hr screen on time auto brightness and slider in middle, 2 hrs playing audio through bluetooth, in an area with no cell signal for about 4hrs, maybe 30-45 mins talk time between Bluetooth and handset. Still have 75% battery left.
Edit: just checked my wife's phone (on factory firmware), unplugged for about 7 hrs. She has 1 hr 40 min screen on time and down to 77%. Not sure about usage, she might have been streaming videos or something.

It is pretty new. I didn't think that would effect anything. I guess I will let it have some cycles then.
I have some ideas that might be able to get the problem solved. I would first try turning off your phone for 5-10 minutes since it might be overheating. Then I would uninstall any new apps that you might have installed since you can remember the battery drain starting. There is a small chance you might be experiencing some battery drain issues from a third party app that caused a virus. Its also a good idea to get a security app like avg since its free. Other then that you might also want to check that your phone is not completely full on storage, and also consider turning off the facebook app since it can cause some serious battery drain issues as well. I think thats pretty much it if you want to get rid of facebook on your galaxy s7 here is how to do it. and it will really help with your battery life
I had the same kind of battery drain on my Sprint variant. A factory reset quickly fixed that issue for me.

So I used it up for a day and let it die completely. Charged it right back up and now its pretty bad today. These are screenshots from when I made it die.
I did disable Facebook. The Android System and Screen are using the most up right now. It went down about 7% for being almost idle. I used Twitter once.
Possible Solution to the DRAIN!
Ok, so I've had the same issues as you. My findings are as per Gsam Battery Monitor:
1. High Android OS and Android System usage~ 20-30%
2. High Phone Radio ~ 40% at times
3. Overnight drain of at least 4% (stanbby drain)
4. Screen usage 'while off' higher than 'while on'
This was frustrating and is as mentioned by other users to be a bug from updates and related to charging.
SOLUTION:
Today Gsam reports my Android OS and Android System usage and Phone Radio at 10% and below.
All i did was...
1. Let it drain to about 90% after charge.
2. Restart the phone.
3. Then plug in the micro USB to USB connector (the one that comes with the phone) with a flash drive attached and play a song/short video.
4. Unplug and enjoy great battery life.
This worked for me so it's worth a try. Will test a full charge soon and hopefully it doesn't require the steps above every time to stop the drain.
btw I'm NOT rooted, using LTE.........wifi,bluetooth, AOD and locations all off.
Okay, so to make a long story short I have terrible battery life. (See image below)
I don't even game, all this time the only thing I did was listening to music trough my headphones whatsapp, and some low usage of Facebook (Messenger). Nothing special in my eyes.
2h55 min SOT. This is really the worst battery life I ever had on every phone, I have this for a couple of months now already. And I am so done with it.
I am looking for options:
Will a new kernel help me out? If so, which one? I don't like fine tweaking. Just a new kernel that works, no tweaking and that works for battery life. I heard FrancoKernel, or ElementalX is good. But keep in mind I just need a kernel for battery/performance. Not for fine tuning.
I will also install xXx No limits. Is this recommended for my case?
I want to know all of your opinions on this, and with my batttery life in mind. Because I really want to get this fixed, I am getting annoyed so much.. Thanks!

Yes, its a while ago now. I think it has been 1-2 months ago. But I can remember it didn't make a huge difference. The thing is, I can't reset it because of banking applications and working abroad. (I wont be able to install them again). And I am pretty sure it wont help.
So I am looking for a kernel option or other tweaks..
There's no miracle, a kernel won't help significantly. You just need to track what's draining your battery. Delete ad many apps as possible, deactivate system apps you don't need.
You can try deep clear in the recent apps management and turn off smart boost in the laboratory.
You might have to replace the battery if the other suggestions don't help
Download Accubattery from play store and charge your phone above 80% then check battery heath, i have 86% health and it's pretty good.
Also if you oem unlock bootloader it will wipe everything.
Your doing something wrong.
Tinder much? Or u checking to many IG babes?
Edit: in that case nothing wrong, but something else is wrong (logs plz)
I'm experiencing exactly the same. Idle battery drain is about 1,5% per hour, I hardly get more than 3 hrs of screen on time. I do think it has something to do with the OS, but can't figure out what...
Go in Google settings, location, scan, and check in wifi and Bluetooth are enabled. This combo drains a lot
Airplane mode + Wifi enable.

Already doing that, on Android 10 UI 2.5 it was never that high. At a full charge when I went to bed in 10 hours it would be at 95-96% now while laying around and not using it drops 2-4% an hour. Some of those stats were while it was still on android 10.

AOD usage should about 1%@hr
Try disabling all power management and deal with the cause(s) directly if they persist.

That didn't help mine. I'll give another week to calibrate and then start worrying about it.
I also went to Android 11 and this night did the GSAM test: Eight hours my dear friend sleeping next to me. But no AOD.
Result: 0,8% per hour, which is perfect. Before, with Android 10, I sometimes sqeezed out 0,7%/hr but that is of no importance. The best overnight was 0,6% loss./hr.
I have 540 applications installed I found out.
No battery calibrating or whatsoever done.
And..... I never switch off anything!. Bluetooth connection with watch remains all the night and WiFi remains on. Same location/GPS etc etc.
I sometimes become a little tired of reading advices to switch it all off, inclusive radio. Gives no difference in power consumption.
That may have been the case ten years ago.
And here is my GSAM screen. Looks OK.

Ended up doing a FDR and didn't restore any old data. Battery is still the same, must be an OS problem that will be solved with a future update.
I noticed that without any disabling apps and just using battery background usage limits (setting which apps to to deep sleep etc.), the battery life got better with time. The moment i started doing app optimisations (goodlock) etc, battery life went haywire. I use accubattery just to check on parameters (it doesn't give accurate app usage in background). I'm using on 96hz as well.
