SOLVED
Hi,
I hope that this is easier than I am making it. My tablet had TWRP 2.3.2.3 and KatKiss 4.3 installed. I wanted to upgrade to KatKiss 4.4.2. I believe I had factory reset and wiped system, but I had not put the ZIP on the TF101 yet. I had issues connecting to PC, and then tried to reboot TWRP. I cannot get into TWRP now. I can get into bootloader, and it shows a "Wipe Data" and Android logo.
The message on the upper left says "Cold Booting Linux"
I am afraid to do much else without specific instructions, since I have not been in this area before, and just want to get back to TWRP. Can someone provide some guidance on the best way to proceed? (My PC still sees new hardware when connected to TF101, if that is helpful)
Thanks!
Greg
Oh and one more thing. I saw some things about reflashing TWRP with EasyFlasher. That is asking for my SBK. There is no serial number sticker on the bottom of the tablet, and I don't have the box, so I'm not sure what to do with that if EasyFlasher is my best solution. Sorry if these are basic questions, I just really don't want to make things worse if that's possible at this point.
Thanks!
Greg
OK, so I got out of bootloader and it somehow let me back into TWRP somehow, so I just installed the ROM off a microSD card, and it seems good now. Sorry to bother everyone, but I hope you are all doing well!

I’m stuck without knowing what to do next.
What did I do? A lot, not knowning exact in which order. I started with stock ICS ROM, rooted and unlocked.
First I tried to install NVFlash, but because in the ATX mode the TF300T wasn’t recognized on my PC the last steps didn’t succeed. Trying all the drivers suggested on this forum didn’t help to solve it.
Though I can manage a connection with the PC in ATX and USB mode. Adb commands works.
I have TWRP installed because I want to ‘see’ the miniSD card for flashing.
When I try to install stock ROM I get the message: unable to Mount “\staging”. Installation failed.
A full whipe and whiping Dalvik are done with no effect.
When I try to install a JB ROM it looks as if it’s succesful, but after a reboot the black screen with bootloader in the left upper corner and NVidia logo right under keeps looking at me.
So turning back to ICS stock doesn’t work and JB neither.
I thought to have a wrong bootloader but which do I need and how to install?
Reading 200 pages for a solution didn’t work for me, maybe I looked at the wrong places but I’m at the end of solutions.
If anyone can help me I’m very gratefull

What did I do to solve it? Taking the right stock rom
I thought I had to flash 9.4.3.30 but it had to be 9.4.3.29 and that did the trick
I'm happy now
That's great to hear you got your tablet working again. Great job! Maybe next time post this in the Q&A forum where it belongs.

Your absolutely right, thanks for your instruction.
Hello Everyone,
I am a Noob, Yes. Please help. I was trying to install TWRP onto my TF300T. I installed it Via ADB. Had it installed with my stock ROM. I tried to do a backup so I could flash CM10. It said it wasn't mounted. I tried again and then it reboot and now goes straight to TWRP. I can get my device on ADB via the cmd screen but it says that the device is attached in recovery and my serial number is now 01233456789ABCD. Have I completely bricked my tablet? Is there anything I can do? I have been searching the forums for literally hours and am at wits end. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry if this has been gone over time and time again but I can't figure it out. Please help. Thanks
Marc
To add,
When I try to do anything via fastboot it just hangs waiting for device. I can't get it to go to the fastboot page on my tablet, it just goes straight to the TWRP page.
Let me guess... You were on the Asus 4.2.1 OTA release, and installed TWRP 2.4.4.0-JB...

Yes, that would be correct. So I managed to reset the device and cold boot back to a working device. Now i'm still wanting to flash a custom recovery and change ROMS to cyanogenmod (had it on my S1 and loved it) but am a bit nervous. How do I reset my partition and clear the old TWRP and flash a working version of CWR via fastboot or a version of TWRP that will work with my OTA rom. I thought I had done quite a bit of research before hand but am feeling a bit overwhelmed now. I don't want to go through another twelve hours of trying every trick I can find on the internet to unbrick my device.
Thanks
Just a few other things to add. So now when i have my device connected to my computer in normal function i can recognize it when I enter adb devices on my cmd prompt. Then I do the fastboot reboot bootloader which it then sends it into the fastboot screen. type in adb devices and it doesn't recognize the device anymore. I try the commands to install the cwm recovery.img and my cmd screen goes through the normal steps saying it's completed it. Then i try to reboot the device through fastboot and it freezes on the bootload screen with the green box no longer flashing on the rck box. Hold power button for six seconds to reboot and i have a working device again. So now i'm lost. How do I reset everything so I can start over, repartition so I can flash a custom recovery and carry on. any help is appreciated.
I don't know how you got yours back, even the bootloader cold-booting linux won't go into the OS for me.
That said, AFAIK, TWRP 2.4.4.0-4.2 or 2.5.0.0-4.2 are the only ones that will work with the 4.2.1 OTA update. Let me know if you somehow manage to get either on there because I can't seem to flash anything.

I tried flashing the new correct version of TWRP. it just freezes on the rck tab of the bootloader. It goes through the process on fastboot on my cmd prmt but does nothing on the tablet end. At least I have a working device on 4.2.1 just frustrating that TW didn't state that there is a 4.2 version not just a JB version. So now I can't get OTA updates and can't flash any custom or stock ROM's. So I'm permanently stuck with 4.2 but it's better than being stuck with a brick I guess. This isn't my first time rooting, flashing or working with ADB and fastboot. Did my research before flashing the custom recovery and thought I followed TW's steps very accurately. I hope that they update their site to stop a large number of people soft or hard bricking their devices. I at least can hold out hope that someone will figure out how to re install the bootloader. There has to be a fix as the rest of my device works so the motherboard isn't shot. Good luck. Let me know if anything or anyone figures it out.

I finally gave up, sent mine in today, it will cost but what the hell, i want my tablet in working order. I've tried the remedies myself, to no avail.
So off to ASUS.
Let me know what they end up charging you. I did a service request on-line, but haven't heard back yet.

I won't know how much it will cost until the unit is in their hands. I initiated my RMA online as well, they told me i will be contacted by phone after they examine it, I'm prepared to invest another 100 bucks as i got the unit for $299. I'll be hesitant to go much higher. I will post a number when i hear from them, if they haven't replied back to you.
I've got the same problem on my TF300T.
I'm going to try to get it working.
Not entirely sure what caused it, since I had used encryption in cm10.1 prior to flashing Asus stock 4.2.1.
BTW, I've been able to get back to fastboot by running adb reboot bootloader when TWRP is loaded.
Update: Seems to be that new 10.6.x.x bootloader... gotta love Asus :-/
--- Update II----
I can't flash anything in fastboot anymore :-/
So I'm an N4 owner just tinkering. Not much knowhow (Managed to follow guides to root and unlock my phones from the G1 to the N1 to today, but still slow on the uptake) but will try!
The tab is an "MID Tablet PC", generic Chinese A13 thing, came with 4.0.4 i think. No model number details in the box. I did enough searching to find that I'm not the first person to have this issue, but didn't find a sol'n.
I got it to boot into recovery ONCE after trying all day yesterday. I think it had to do w/ recognizing windows. No button combos seemed to do the trick (pow/vol etc). Don't know how I did it tbh. Once I was there i figured I'd use ADB to factory reset, but I hadn't even set up adb with it on and could get it to boot to bootloader, or factory reset, so I figured I'd wipe data, but I might've messed up with "Wipe All", and now need something to flash to it even if i CAN get it back to recovery...
Right now I get a small android icon, followed by a green splashscreen that would've lead to the old scrolling "android" screen, but now has no OS. I can get it recognized with ADB! ADB Reboot/bootloader/recovery all take me to the main splashscreen though
Downloaded a CWM copy if needed, and an original rom (for Q88 found online)

THANKYOU THANKYOU for any help.
I have a Asus TF700T and while it was in my car in its case it apparently started on it's own and ran down a full charge to about 10% so it must have been going for hours which would explain why it got so warm. I could not shut it off so it stayed on until there was no more charge. I was then able to charge it. When I hit the start button it starts but just hangs up in the animated boot screen and goes no further. Then I tried the on button with the volume button and got into TWRP. I really don't know anything about TWRP but I looked around and tried rebooting and a few other options but nothing changed. Still stuck on the boot up screen.
So I'm willing to learn about my tablet now that I am forced too. Can anyone please point me to the right solutions and can anyone tell me why it started on its own? You help is much appreciated. Thanks.
More likely some app never shut down and got hung up, running the battery down. Unless you live in Phoenix and had in your car in full sun heating it up to 140 F...
To give you any advice worth a damn you need to provide:
bootloader version
TWRP version
what rom you are running
In lieu of that, and to possibly get the tab out of the stuck boot, you could just do a factory wipe in TWRP.
Choose the Wipe option and swipe the button - let it finish and reboot system. That will wipe all user installed apps and settings, but leave your personal files untouched.
Let us know where that got you.
For general info and to get your PC set up for fastboot/adb you could peruse my guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688891
Thanks for the info. I will charge it back up and try your wipe suggestion.
As far as the other info you need, I'm not sure how I can get that if it won't boot, except probably the TWRP version. Can you suggest a way to obtain that info. As far as what Android version I was using I'm not really sure about that either. I bought this used in early 2013 and the version was whatever was around back then. Geez, I'm a little embassased. It's my most important tool and I know nothing about it. It's as if you asked me my sons name, age, and birthdate and I couldn't tell you. Back when I used a desktop, I knew everything about it but now, shame on me.
The TWRP version would help somewhat. Assuming you have a TWRP version compatible with your bootloader it would give us a hint on what you were running. But if you can boot to the bootloader with Power and Volume Down, just read the tiny script. Your BL version is right there.
But if TWRP is still working you could use it's build-in file manager to copy all your data off internal storage to a microSD.
Then download the latest firmware from Asus, unzip the file once, resulting in another zip and place that zip on a fat32 formatted microSD.
Flash the firmware in TWRP.
That would get you onto the latest bootloader, but would also install the stock recovery and rom.
Next just decide which custom rom you want to run, find the correct TWRP version, flash it in fastboot and then flash the rom.
Who would of thought that a menu option called "Wipe" would get me back up and running? Seems to me that Wipe would just blow away everything. You assistence is greatly appreciated.
Fogot to mention that I,m also going to follow your suggestions with the lastest firmware and custom rom but I have to put that is on hold until I have a backup tablet so I can continue doing my Ebay work and learning more on this terrific website. Thanks again for your help.
I had the Katkiss 5.1.1 ROM and decided to go with the KatKiss 6.0 ROM. I did a backup to an external card using TWPR. Since I was going from 5.1 to 6.0, I decided to format/data before flashing the ROM. I left the room and came back to see that my daughter reset the tablet. Now it seems to have been stuck in a boot loop similar to what happened in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/help/softbricked-tf300t-trying-to-flash-to-t3508565
But I can't even get into the recovery. It'll get to the TEAMWIN screen and restart and it won't stop. I can't even shut it off to stop it. I've been searching for a solution and found this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44244313&postcount=12
However fastboot says there is no device, but I may be using it wrong. Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated

Really bad luck!
Hopefully you can reach fastboot. Then follow step by step the instruction in post #2 in the first link of your post to get back on stock rom JB 4.2. Good luck!
Am I supposed to be on a certain screen in order for me to use fastboot?

I don't know what is your knowledge in general, but the post I recommended above gives you all what you need. All erasing steps are based on "Buster99" and have been used several times successfully.
Minimal ADB & Fastboot allows your PC to communicate with your device via a DOS window on your PC. Therefore the USB driver must be installed. USB Debugging on your device must be activated. Hopefully you can start the "Fastboot USB download protocol" via "Power on"/ "Vol down" in the left corner above of the device display.
I'm sorry, I might not have been clear enough... I saw your post with the instructions, I was asking if the tablet should be on a certain screen because the only screen I can get to is where it asks if you want to boot to recovery, android or wipe data. I was wondering if this where I should be on the tablet when attempting this fix. Thanks
OK I got it!! Thanks a lot ebonit. My problem was that I couldn't find the USB drivers to install. I don't remember where I saw it but it said they get installed when you install ASUS Sync. So I did and followed the directions and it worked. Thanks a lot!!
