Timely is still a 3rd party app. It can't be used like the system clock.

Yes I have. I removed the stock system clock, installed timely, and it works flawlessly. Looks better too. Inside gravity box I told it to launch timely when I hit the clock in the dropdown menu. It comes with a widget which I use on my lockscreen.

uhh no need for two clock apps that do the exact same thing. Less apps in my app drawer.

Of course except when we test apps.

If anyone didn't know, you can put widgets in the dockbar. For example, Music controls(Tested on stock music app, Tunein and somewhat on Pandora).
This is how I've done it, not sure if other launchers can do it too or not.(Apex Launcher seems to work too)
-Install Nova launcher(I'm using the free version). It's a pretty decent launcher anyways
-Under Nova Settings>Desktops tick the 'Resize All Widgets' option
-Place whichever widget you want on your homescreen, resize it to the smallest possible option
-Drag it and place it on an empty dockbar(Dockbars are like homescreens in this launcher, you can have multiple and just swipe side to side)
EDIT: It seems the fallback to this is that you can only have one icon available on the dock. Under Nova Settings>Dock>Dock Icons set it to 1. This does limit the other dock screens that you might actually have more than one icon on. Also set all the margins to none.
Couple pictures of widgets I've placed(Tunein, Stock Music App, and System Tuner widget)
This has been tested on Synergy r64 and CWM10 8/31 nightlies...
Definitely going to have to experiment with this!

Good find. Didn't even think of trying that. I've used nova since I first went onto ICS leaks on the bionic. Love the launcher. I just haven't installed it onto this get cause for some reason, and i hate to say it, I'm enjoying touch wiz. I probably will install Nova and try this at some point though. My touch wiz love can't last forever.

Worked for me with mostly stock settings. No idea what I changed honestly. Lol. I used the Google ears widget. Also, how did you get them to fill the whole dock and not just one space?

Which widget did you use? I tried the 4x2 shrunk down and 4x1. the only way I could get it to work was 1x1 and all it did was open power launcher which i wouldn't really call widget functionality.
You had music controls or just a button that opens poweramp?

I've updated the OP but it seems that you have to set the dock icons to 1 instead of multiple for the widget to go "full size" like that. It restricts other dock screens you might have something on.

Here is an easier way to get the Nexus 5 launcher without root, hackery, or evil spells.
Download and install both apks. Bam. Will work on anything 4.1 on up.

Just clear defaults. Just like any other launcher. So you'll be good. If you have kitkat, you can do it from here (within settings>home):

what other differences are there?
I do like the google now swipe right though.

The icons come with the launcher. Solution for smaller ones is to use a different launcher.

Grab an icon and drag it to the right, off the edge of the screen. The GE launcher will create a new home screen for you to drop it on. Drag back to the left and it will remove the unused home screen.
After weeks use of this launcher, there is only one annoyance. The launcher keeps adding a page for reasons I'm not sure of and the page indicator is a plus sign instead of a dot. Can't figure out why it keeps doing that. I have to fix it by adding an icon on the screen and taking it out to have it disappear. See Screenshot.

Happens to me on occasion. I actually think it's by design. It's not always there on mine, it's almost like a hint or tip. It's not always there.

If you're rooted you can use System App Remover. It just works reliable and you can test first to freeze the apps you want just to see if it messes with system stability. If it does you can undo and if it doesn't, you can permanently uninstall.
System app remover works well
It's almost impossible to delete an important module or app as they're classified and can be undelete from recycle bin.
Do not remove apps you don't know the purpose of. If you can find the app in Play Store, most probably it is safe to remove.

Even so with some modding, patient, time and risk all apps could be replaced.
Some Modaco custom ROMs have stock Huawei apps replaced with Google's to provide vanilla-ish experience.

If it got my hometown right as my current location I wouldn't be look looking to disable it later tonight. It just scrapes AccuWeather for all is info anyway.

I do transparent clock and weather as it seems light, complete and good looking.
As a dumb American I appreciate that it gives the options of either Celsius and Fahrenheit temps, but the same option for km/h and mph wind speeds would be nice to have as well. Plus we use coal not wind power, so a plume of black smoke that moves at different speeds would be a better icon/animation than wind turbines.

If you using TouchWiz i don't think so.
I have been using Nova Prime launcher for many years.
One of the reasons is that you can change each icon individually
So yes, many other 3rd party launchers can also do the same.

Thanks, but my point i was trying to make is
that on TouchWiz, i don't think you can change each icon individually. (with out use of a 3rd party app)
But yes using a 3rd party app to do the job (like you pointed out) will /should work.
Good luck
I don't like Google Photos nor do I use it. But I have to use it as a gallery with its crappy sorting.
So I was wondering if an AOSP gallery was a thing anymore? If so where can I get it?
Everytime I ask for a gallery people talk about QuickPic which is owned by Cheetah Mobile which is known for stealing people's information so there's no way anything of theirs is getting on my phone. I'd rather have something official by Google or by a trusted developer.
Thanks
