I've realized that with CM rom, my phone doesn't have the ability to autofocus or even touch to focus while recording video. So is this a bug of CM or my phone had failed?

Have you updated to the latest nightly? The 2/26/2014 nightly fixed a few issues with the camera. Not sure on the specifics, but I know they fixed a few bugs. Added a few things to. Id recommend you head over to HellDevs CM.11 Compiled with linaro and try it! I'm not at my house to check for you, or I would.

I went ahead and did some investigating.(; Have you had this feature before? From what I can tell this has never been a feature.. I know SOME certain camera's supported this. Not sure CM's team ever did with the included camera. I just tried it on to different CM.11 based ROMS for our device and it did not have that feature. So either they will port it in or just leave it out! Hope I helped a little.

Sorry for a late reply, but for CM11 latest nightlies. I've seen that recording video is useless. If you can point out rom which video recording work perfectly (not stock rom), can you suggest me? Thank you very much
Stock

Id agree stock would be best.
Can you suggest any stock rom with ability to turn off 4G? Because i just wanna use 2G to save battery. Thank you
Nope

I am looking for some testers for an experimental CM7 rom. It has some files from the soon to be released WildFire S. I am looking for feedback on if everything works the way it did with previous cm7 builds. Audio/Phone Calls/Video/Camera. Also GPS.
Newer Updated to include lastest code from cyanogenmod including FM.

This includes my new kernel as well. Please test it as much as you can and report back. I want to update our part of cyanogenmod 7 if all goes well.
Thanks for testing.

Just curious what this ROM has that the others don't. Does it have a new cool UI? Added features? Would love to be a tester, just would like to know what to look for. Thanks!

OK, done downloading. I flashed over CM 7 nightly 11.
Audio worked playing music and videos.
Phone worked calling out both on ear piece and speaker phone. Phone received incoming calls and mic and ear piece worked.
Camera worked.
Hope this helps.
Video recording worked.
same thing but it was a clean install.
except when i was done recording a video from the camera app to the gallery(thumbnail) the video said it was unable to play but actually going into the gallery it played but it recorded a bit choppy(with oc going & its kind of dark)
Aw....and here I thought the devs had forgotten all about the little Aria. Color me excited

I read the title. It doesn't help. What's it offer that current CM7 doesn't?
just newer libs(libraries for audio/video im guessing) that came from the wildfire S rom dump
Will a full port of the ROM from the Wildfire S eventually be possible?
If these libs are working that's a good sign...overall hardware is pretty similar, same CPU, bit more RAM, but that shouldn't stop it. I'd personally love the new Sense plus Gingerbread
Did clean installation here. All seems pretty sweet.

didnt do a clean install
installed on top of cm7 - 11
audio / camera/video / phone all worked as expected on my Aria

jznomoney, installing this now.
this Aria (test phone) has only been 1. rooted and runs 2. Liberated B003
do you recommend a full wipe (order of wipe?), factory, dalvik, et al and does this require separate setup/install of google apps ?
thanks.
People, I will try to fix the cammer in CM7, with that working we will have a full CM7 port for our MM2. Except for the Alt-Lock, and that is not a big problem.
I will merge the droid2 with the defy CM7, only the cammera and the 720P drivers, and make my own compilation, if this works probably we just only need is to keep updated the newest releases with the fixes that Endless make.
I will keep notice no my progress, rigth now I'm downloading the sources. Wish me good luck!
Great......looking forward for this...

Isn't 720p recording a hardware encoding problem, rather than camera?
The only camera problem I have is exposure while recording videos...
And with the option julianlasta suggests, ("merge defy and droid2 cm7 sources"), this won't help, since these two builds don't support 720p...
For some reasons, julianlasta seems to ignore tezet's cm7...

720p uses proprietary drivers from Motorola, and from what I understand, they don't play well with cm7 or custom roms
MS2Ginger and Argen2Stone can record in 720p because both are based on Ch or euro leak, with some cosmetic and minor changes to the rom, and not touching the drivers at all

I had this issue with v3 as well. It doesn't matter what rom (Viper, Nocturnal, CleanRom) that I use, I am having sound crackles when I record video from the stock camera. I do not have an issue with aznrice's kernel or CleanKernel. I am really confused because it cracks after a full wipe so I know no other app is affecting it. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

Your camera is messing up, obvously. Do you have cam fix flashed?
If not, I have attached it.
All you have to do it put it on your sd card and go into recovery and flash. fixed my cam.
Does your musci player crackle?
Yeah I already flashed the camfix. There is no crackle when I play music. It is not a constant crackle. It is very sporadic.so I think it is certain sounds that make it crackle but I cannot narrow it down.
Hmm... Do you have a back up of your factory ROM on TWRP? Try rebooting that and see if that changes.
You may have a bad audio recorder.

I installed AOKP and have no issues with the rohan kernel. On sense, I did not have issues with stock, CleanKernel, and BrickBeatz sense kernel. So I really think its kernel related, but this is an isolated incident because I haven't read anyone else having this issue.

Well I moved to the Elemental X kernel and had no issues. Then 5 minutes later BeastMode 4.2 came out. I flashed and hoped it would work, and to my surprise no sound pops. I am extremely happy. Thank you for your help.
EDIT: Actually sound pops are still there, very annoying. I think I'll go back to a different kernel.

Might be an isolated problem, but then again, could be an issue and people haven't used their audio recorder, yet. I would go ahead and make a logcat dump and save it. Just in case this problem pops up in the future with someone else. I would test Beastmode, but right now... I can't flash it. EDIT: Flashing KingCobra ROM right now. Might try and flash Beastmode v4.2 on this one.

Yeah I flashed the leaked 4.2 camera. The video cam works with no issues, but I still have preference with sense cam because of the 16:9 ratio. I really like the 4.2 camera but will not fully use the app until there is a fullscreen ratio. Thank you for your help.

There's an article from geek.com/androidpolice.com outlining Focal, a new camera app from the CM team. It seems awesome, especially for our device which has always had issues with the camera as compared to the stock camera app.
One of the best parts is that it is modular, so any dev can enable special features specific to our device, like zero shutter lag that we don't really get on AOSP camera app.
Just thought I'd share with you guys!

i would say "ban this troll!" but this was well executed so i'm ok with it lol.
my first thoughts were like uh source isn't even out yet
update from the focal apk: it runs. overall works. focusing is meh on this device, everything looks kind of faded. it has issues connecting to the camera after a few tries...
anyway, i would only recommend using the apk for fun just to try it. there's obviously a crapload of bugs left that the CM team are already aware of, and they're working tirelessly to fix them.

Was very excited when first heard of this, figured since I'm using the unofficial CM build for this (SilverL's 4.2.2) that we might see it integrated into one of the builds.
Guess there are more issues than it's worth and we likely won't be seeing it fully operational?
Surprisingly its not just our device that its really buggy for. Other legacy devices are having a hard time getting it to work, and we're always waiting for the sensation to get fixed so its worse for us.
However the issue is with the focal app itself. I don't blame the cm team. They're going through a lot of awesome stuff right now, and I believe they're writing the focal app from the ground up, as compared to before where they were building on the aosp camera.
Anyway point is that its buggy for all cm users. Especially legacy devices.
But time fixes all bugs
Oh good, hope! I still love our "legacy" device more than 80% of the current tech that's out there, so glad I haven't had to buy a new smartphone in so long!
Just letting everybody know that their has been a Tesla ROM developed for Clark. Their is a test version only right now but its still bad ass! Go to android file host and search it. I'm sure we will see it posted to XDA sooner then later.
Great news!
I really liked their rom and used it on my Samsung Galaxy S2.

Chop chop and double twist are working on it. I've been running it for the last few days now, and it's my favorite ROM. The 03/12 build is better than the 03/13 build. The 03/13 build was chewing up my battery.

Nope, you have to move them manually.
I tried it for a day and it seemed very unstable and buggy. But so was Broken OS, and PureNexus. I don't know if it's my phone, or just the ROMs becoming more unstable than they were in February. I haven't found a DD yet.

Yeah :/ I had really high hopes. At times it seemed great. I wished there was a way to turn their theme from holo blue to red! I've been using black and red themes lately. I wish I could remember the specific issues I had with this one. I know Broken would be working fine, then just crash, and not power up again. Pure nexus only had 3/4 of the features working, and had all the notofication and scrolling lag that the CM ROMs have. Who knows. Could be my device.

I apologize, but I can't honestly remember now. I can't remember if that was the one that would have apps close on me, or open on me without any input, or why I used the word unstable and buggy. If I say something is unstable and buggy, it typically means I had significant issues, beyond the normal one or two things that just don't work. But I unfortunately cannot remember.
I would like to note however, I noticed that restoring my apps and data with TiBu seemed to be causing some of my issues with the ROMs from that timeframe. Because I flashed the same purenexus build twice, once with restoring apps and data, and once by reinstalling everything from the play store, and noticed a huge difference. Using TiBu was much buggier, on the very same build. So it might have been that.
Link??
Restoring system data with TB can cause all sorts of weird issues. I strictly use it to restore apps/data for everything else, but not system data.
Sometimes it helps to wipe internal storage too when moving from one rom type to another (ie, stock based to aosp).
I haven't tried tesla rom yet, but may give it a shot in the future.
