Like in thread, write here what u expect from the Xperia M succesor, and do the things we already know about her (resolution, processor etc.) fit ur bill.
Soooo, let me be first.
On paper she looks quite nice, if she will be cheap enough (up to 300 dollars) im in.
Only thing that im worried about is her screen. I dont want to see xperiaSP quality screen here. This will be low/mid end device, and i shouldnt want too many from it, but still. I think that if sony will do quite good optimalization for it and they will give to her good screen (good, i dont need super mega hiper OMG screen) she will be good option to buy. Dont forget that now her biggest oponent is Moto G which has super performance, nice screen and she is quite cheap, so it will be nice challenge for M2.
Will it be a nice and dev-friendly phone? Write below

Soryyy, in my lang "xperia" word sounds like a girl
No coz shes price at over 20k
Probably not
It would fit my bill perfectly if only Sony chose to have a replaceable battery instead of a non-removable one. Considering that Android devices are hard on battery life, replaceable batteries is a must IMHO.
Man even the LG L90 offers more features than this phone at 16k but is officially priced at 20k
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:
What made me consider this brand in first place was having a Sony SW2, and pairing with a Sony handset allows me to use all the features of it, but when i read the spec sheet and found that between other things these handsets are the ones that have ANT+ connectivity that made my day. And €245 in Europe is a reasonably price for a Dual Handset.
I've been reading nearly everywhere that this phone has very low calling volume.
Is this true? Have many users experienced this problem??

Sure the price per feature is much lower there.
If you hold both phones in your hands the difference in build quality is glaring.

I got an M2, despite of being exactly the same opinion. It came with my contract. Lucky, I can report the M2 is quite ok in terms of battery life.
Here is my initial impression:
- acceptable battery
- screen is big but has lower end resolution
- light leaching on black
- relatively dim screen at factory setting, but still very well readable
- glossy housing is a PITA
- reactively heavy
- not nice form factor (as previous curved Xperias)
- not water resistant
- boot up animation is something for kids
- speaker sound is not as good as others
- sound could be louder overall
- loads of bloatware
- card slot cover flimsy, I am counting the days for it to drop off
- main button well articulated and easy to reach at the right location
- volume button to small and should be above the main button
- the nice LED on the bottom does not work, respectively I see it only working when changing the themes ... ?
Would it be so hard for companies to equippe phones with a rubber outside frame for basic drop protection? Why construct everything "throw away" style?
The volume buttons is in the same position as the Z2. If you look at Z2's power button you will be surprise at how convenient M2's power button is. The LED at the bottom also glows when switching songs in Walkman
After 4 days of usage
I found the biggest M2 annoyance is the greenish screen tint. The second biggest annoyance is the light sensor implementation. There is screen brightness pumping. I installed YAAB to correct that. I hope Sony can correct this with a software update (?).
LED at the bottom should be modded to be useful.
Glossy surface is also an annoyance. I ordered a rubber case.
Speaker opening at the bottom is exactly at the spot which I use to position my small finger to support the phone. Seal is perfect. That might be the reason why some people say sound being quiet.
The rest is quite ok. I
The screen tint and light sensor, all true. Also the camera, I often get yellowish shots ( maybe the firmware is the problem, reported to sony forum )
About LED, I agree with you that it should be modded to be of better use
I don't find the glossy back annoying at all
I am right now confussed B/W Xperia m2 and Htc Desire 700.Can you tell me from your experience about this phone Biggest Pros and Cons
By the looks of it, I'm quite satisfied with the phone. It darn fast, and I like it. Camera would be only cons I have so far, but everything else is good. As for camera, it's quite bad for the night shots, but good on the day shots.
Maybe it would bee too much to expect phone of this price to have everything perfect, so I don't mind the camera being bad. Battery is also good. It can last 2 days if phone is not used much.

Close to three days if I only use for mail, messenging, calls, and the occasional website.
Still close to 48 h with frequent navigation use.
That's certainly not bad compared to most other phones, but target should be 5 - 7 days.
The screen uses astonishing low power. This phone is sure good for travellers. The greenish screen tint gets unnoticed after a while, the camera is reasonable, 4.3 is not good.
I got an Xperia M2 yesterday, and I'm loving it. yes I do have the same sort of greenish/yellow screen tint, but I actually prefer this color reproduction to the harsh blue-tinted display of the original XM. The camera is also a massive improvement from the XM, and the device is quite more responsive. 10/10 worth it
Got mine a fewer days. I already have newer ones Xperia like Z1 and ZQ; a model made from Z1 to Brazil. The M2 at the first moment seems a compact Z2, like the design, the place where buttons are. Weight is good for the size, also it is thin. I think Sony could do a 5inch screen cause there are too much bars arounding the lcd or if they cut, made more a compact device, like they did with ZQ, made it perfect and confortable. The LCD quality is ok, nothing really to be glad like others Xperia but for a mid from Sony i expected more ppi, it has almost less 100 compared to Moto G. Also the glass i didnt like, keeps too easy dust and fingers prints and it isnt too easy to clean. Camera resolution is awful, i wont comment about the VGA cause dont worth it, so i couldn believe that Sony done that, even that old mobiles like Xperia ARC, X10, they have a much better cam. Really dont understand why Sony made such a dummbie phone. Now, the surprise is that came with and old 4.3 JB in times that we are already in 4.4.4 versions. The CPU is good, felt some laggys, nothing really bad but for a quad should make better operations. Volume sound is poor, even with headset, like the equalizer and the multiple options but unfortunatly these couldnt make sounds better. Finally battery isnt nothing especial, mine is with almost 18hours of good usage before a make a new charge cycle. Anyway, my opinions are based that already have the Moto G, a trully competitor and that made really good impressions.

I like it a lot. Not the slightest bit of stuttering yet. I've yet to root because I don't need it yet and I'd like my warranty to last at least a few months. Sadly on stock my ps3 controller OTG doesn't work. Might sound pity but that was a huge letdown.

I traded my lockeddown galaxy s4 and all its accessories for this phone as soon s-off had been achieved. lucky me that a friend was adding a new line but wanted the s4 and has zero intentions of doing any modifications to the the phone. I am very impressed with this phone my only irritation is that if I have one of my pics set as wallpaper after a restart it's totally zoomed in/resized. this isn't egregious enough for me to actually try and fix though... not that it stays long anyway being flash happy lol.
I am happy with mine. I have a few problems but they are relatively minor.
1. Speaker grills. Make sure you get one that the grills are flush with the glass if you are going to use a screen protector that goes around the speakers.
2. Why in the hell would HTC only put a red/green LED notification light on it???? That is plain stupid.

If you have an XBox 360 controller, they supposedly work via OTG also. I only have a wireless controller (which didn't come with a USB charger cable, or else I lost it) so I can't test it.
As far as the M8....I love it. Development is great, and the M8 itself is a fantastic device. I just wish the radios were a bit stronger. I have frequent issues at my gym with the reception cutting out, which apparently the phone doesn't deal with very well...I have to toggle airplane mode to get data going again, which happens usually 2-3 times during a workout. However, the reception inside my gym is horrible anyway (and it's only slightly better out in the parking lot. usually 1-2 bars, max).
Also, I do feel bad about hiding this beautiful phone inside of a case, but the damn thing is just too slippery...
Terrific phone, best available right now for sure. For a long time I completely undervalued a great stock software experience thinking CM would provide a better experience than, say, touchwiz. I was very wrong. CM on the GS3 was mostly stable, but that's just it... Mostly. It never got to the point of stability that CM7 enjoyed with Gingerbread. Things are different now.
HTC by far has the best stock experience of any manufacturer skin available. I find this experience to be equal to AOSP in my tastes. They did an elegant job.
Quality control/build quality is something I've learned a lot about by having this phone. I don't think I'm going to pit a metal chassis as highly as I did when deciding to go with this phone.
I had to return two of them due to minor imperfections and decided to settle with this one which over time is seeming to degrade dramatically.
- One of the plastic strips on the back is sunken in a bit and yields sharp edges when you run your fingers across it. It also looks bad from certain angles.
- My camera does not sit evenly in its hole. Rather, it's slightly tilted by 5-10 degrees. As far as I can tell this does not affect picture quality but again, feels unpleasant when your finger glides across the camera hole which you will occasionally.
- Speaking about fingers on camera, you'll be wiping it down a bit to clear the smudges. It's indented nature will make it harder to fully clean. Because of this, its easy to scratch the lens. I'm looking into camera lens protectors now.
- As mentioned, the speaker grills are problematic. Mine are mostly flush with the screen, but again, it's that MOSTLY again. On top of that, my bottom grill seems to have minor warping/a wavy surface. Light reflections emphasize this flaw but it's probably the least of my worries.
It's funny how I thought I was getting this phone for it's superior materials and build and ended up feeling unfulfilled in that aspect but being fully enamored with the software. Most of my build flaws are either diminished or not noticeable covered by a case, which I always use a little protection. Because of this, plastic is fine for me in the future if it means more consistent quality and longevity. I don't feel the superior materials when I'm using a case anyway.

-Plastic Strips: Wow, that does blow. After you mentioned that I tested mine to see if they were like yours. Not at all. Completely smooth. You cannot detect a variance in height variance. Even while running my fingernail over them.
- Camera fit: I inspected mine; Perfect symmetry.
- Speaker grills. I know this issue well because of M7. I got lucky on this one because that offset drove me insane.
TBH: with all the little tweaks your phone has... It sounds like it has been dropped or twisted. Yes it could be bad build quality as well but I would really hate to think that.
is there any way you can exchange yours? Mine is near perfect, its sad to see yours is so... crappy.

Yeah I just got unlucky but oh well I'll live. The first time it was a tiny crack in the corner, the second time was a bump on the bottom speaker grill and was tired of replacing so I decided to just live with the third. I feel like it's punishment for being so picky or something lol
I'm past the 14 day return window but even if I wasn't I was tired of bothering the people at the Verizon store. It's a third party one and they were really nice and helped me keep my unlimited data, so I felt like I was being a hassle. It's also my fault for not examining it close enough to notice the crooked camera, even when they were insisting that I deeply inspect it before going with it.
No drops at all either. I've had it in a case practically since I got it as well. Hell maybe it's the case's fault (for the plastic bands, at least). Sounds like you got lucky, I figure it's just my turn to have some quirks as I've been pretty lucky with tech up to this point. Honestly I'm probably making them sound a lot worse than they actually are too.

Well I am having that problem with this phone. It is barely noticeable. But I am coming from a Moto RAZR MAXX with a large LED that is capable of multiple colors. I had lightflow set to use blue/white mostly. Some yellow. I guess the main reason I am *****ing is because I am red/green color blind. I can't tell the difference in the colors they offer (red/green)
I don't expect special treatment, but WHY do companies CONTINUE to offer colors that are not visible/distinguishable by about 10% of the population? Why not just use easily distinguishable colors? Like Blue and Yellow.
[/rant]
I'm happy with mine. I don't see any of the flaws mentioned here or anywhere else for that matter. Camera, speaker grills, screen, they are all as they should be. As far as I can see anyway. I love this phone.
That said, I do have one and only one beef about it. The notification LED. No, not that it's not bright enough or the colors available. It's that it only stays on for 5 minutes or so. I'll admit I haven't spent a whole bunch of time searching for an answer but I've spent enough and have yet to come up with a way to make it stay on until I've looked at whatever it is it's notifying me about. Sounds like it's been this way a bit for HTC for a while though. This is my first HTC phone and I'm used to picking up the phone and seeing that light flash. Regardless of how long ago it's been since I've received a call, text or whatever. I'd much prefer to be able to just glance at the phone and see if anything's happening as opposed to having to pick it up and turn on the screen.
I suppose they do it for battery savings. Don't know. But, I find it hard to believe that turning that little diode off after 5 minutes saves anything worth saving. It's not like it's going to be 2 days before I look at it. That said, I can't blame it on the phone. It's HTC's software that comes into play there.
Anyway, other than that, I'm a happy camper.
Yes, yes I did.. get lucky with obtaining this phone. ???

Just a follow up to this and a warning to any others out there, I managed to reset my camera lens to a very level angle (maybe 0.5-1 degrees off still) by pressing gently but firmly down on the raised side.
I think what may have happened is I pressed down a little too hard when cleaning the lens, causing it to become uneven. So be gentle when you wipe down your camera lens!

Not so sure if I'm happy with mine yet. I am not liking this camera and it might be a deal breaker. I like being able to zoom and crop photos and the resolution is just too low. Also I don't notice any improvement with low light shots. Right now I'm debating about getting a gs5. Trying to figure out if I still want to mod my phone. I had a rezound which I enjoyed flashing.
The strengths of this phone
1. Very smooth and responsive.
2. Phone speakers sound great.
3. Overall audio quality is good
4. Very refined sense.
5. Cut and paste texting(sense feature).
6. Great front facing camera
7. Sd slot
8. Soff and root
9. Remote
10.gestures! I love the tap to wake
The bad
1. Poor camera
2. Non removable battery(not a huge deal but nice to have)
3. I don't feel the aluminum body is very rugged and will show drops or scratches very pronounced.
4. Slippery why aluminum if I have to buy a case anyway.
5. When I hold it I get the feeling it's premium but it also feels fragile.
6. Battery life isn't what I expected.(I've only had the phone for a week so I think it's still working itself out.)
Overall good phone but camera ruins it.

There was recently a leaked photo of a Verizon Xperia Z2. I'd sooner get a Z2 than a GS5.
I agree with many of your points though I just don't think anyone should have to deal with the horror that is Touchwiz.

Of course, the One (M8) isn't a phone that's going to be to everyone's tastes. It's amazing product, the camera is fantastic and the battery has improved a bit and also with its with it's stunning design, this with the price. Everything I'm looking for a smartphone, its already here! Since I bought my M8, I did embrace and love it since then.
I switched to T-Mo to get this phone because VZW pissed me off by releasing their bastardized version. I love the look and feel of the Z3. I love the water resistance. The screen is amazing. The interface is unobtrusive and actually adds some useful features on top of stock Android. All of that said, I have two major disappointments:
1. The camera. I was expecting a stellar camera experience. I can honestly say that the camera is one of the worst I've used on any phone in the past year. I have 10+ different smartphones, as I have to test them with software at work. Of all the flagship Android devices released this year, this is the worst camera experience I've had. I'm so disappointed, because I was really looking for a phone that would keep me from carrying an iPhone 6 around just for the camera. I'm sick of carrying two phones. I'm not trying to complain, rather ask if someone has any ideas to get better pictures out of this camera? It does just fine with anything that is standing still, but trying to take pics of a kid or animal in motion, even in decent light, seems like a losing battle.
2. The vibration motor is SO LOUD. Is this just me? Did I get a defective one? It's so loud that if it's sitting on the carpet two rooms away I can hear it vibrate. It kind of defeats the purpose of putting it into silent (vibrate) mode, because everyone sitting in a large conference room can hear it vibrate in my pocket.
Any feedback or suggestions on these two issues would be appreciated.
The camera works better once you go in manual mode and play with some settings there. As for your motor, my first Z3 was incredibly loud as well, and I exchanged it and this one I have now is much better. My other gripe is typing and not registering input... I've tried different keyboards with no luck.
I haven't had any of those problems. My Z3 catches every touch and the motor sounds normal to me.
Can't say I've ever known iphone cameras to be any good to be fair but the Z3 camera is one of the worst.
As for the vibration motor, mine is very quiet and not very powerful.
My keyboard is awful too and no keyboards fix it.
Auto mode for camera is not great, hopefully fixed in Lillipop update, but on manual it takes pretty great pics.

I'm going to go back to T-Mo today and compare my vibration to the display model. I think there's something wrong there. As for the camera, I've been diving into the manual settings. Sure, with 10-15 seconds of setting up a shot with all the right settings, it can take decent pictures. That said, I can pull out the 6 Plus in full auto and snap something just as good, if not better, almost every time. With a kid and pets, it's all about being able to pull off spontaneous shots without fiddling with settings for 10 seconds. By then, the moment has passed. It's super frustrating.
I'm strongly considering exchanging for a Note 4. The Z3 is just so gorgeous, but I think the camera is a deal breaker for me. As someone who has had every variant of Sony's excellent RX-100 line, it's disappointing to see such a poor photo experience on a phone that should be incredible. This camera ticks every check box and should be an amazing performer.
For any of you with a laggy keyboard try uninstalling the last Google Search update and reinstalling. That fixed mine.

Or you could keep your z3 and buy a sony qx100. You will have photos at rx100 quality from you phone...
Go to settings, language and keyboard, click the tools icon on the keyboard you are using, scroll down to sound and vibrate, vibration intensity
See if that also fixes the vibrate mode in general

I've had plenty of Sony's in my past, but I am in no way a fan boy. I'm interested in your thoughts, but I give you some things I've found across the 4-5 I've owned;
1) The build quality of Sony devices are typically very good. Just picking them up is a pleasure.
2) You may find the interface interesting at first, but it typically is not far off from stock, and they do have some nice apps. (PS, I miss the tiny apps or whatever they were called).
3) I love the camera button - you'll miss it once you don't have it
4) It seems that volume for music etc is typically lower than on other devices. It used to take rooting and changing build prop etc... to make it LOUD. GSM review seems to like audio on the xz2
5) Updates are frequent
6) Root is easy to acheive, but breaks some things until the wonderful modders get involved and fake the DRM keys
7) #6 makes custom rom's a fools errand early on - Hopefully Trebel helps that and the DRM thing becomes easier
8) If you think the battery will last X, it will shock you how much longer than X it lasts. Sony is PHENOMENAL with power management.

in all recent sony phones unfortunately they use to add some proprietary sw alghoritms for improving the camera performances or other visual things that once you unlock your device's BL get lost. and can't be retrieved anymore or at least it is not very easy (in certain devices you can backup and restore them later, in some others you can't). so basically often if it is not a good choice to unlock the bl to flash a custom rom or even to just root your phone as the camera performances would su*k afterwards.. also because of this development on sony phones is pretty small and slow...
let's see how it goes with this new model, if drm keys will still be there what we would lose exactly unlocking the BL.. hope nothing too important it would be a pity cause with treble support we could expect some more development!
I saw the xz2 compact couple days before first time in local store. was pretty impressed. It was the black one. Looked a bit like a small business phone. I was just to buy a Pixel 2 after i returned my galaxy s9 due to light leak. but i saw it and could play with it a bit and compare with Pixel 2. I was not so impressed by the pictures and thickness of xz2c in the web after announcement but after holding it i can say the design is pretty perfect for me. No sharp edges anymore that are hurting your palm while holding it. The IPS Display was bright, sharp and colorful without oversaturation. The blacks are almost at OLED Level in comparison to my old z3 compact. Whitebalance is perfect and if you dont like it you can change it a bit warmer or colder in the settings. Finally no burn-in danger like on amoled. In my hand it did not seem so thick like on the pictures in the web. IT was comfortable to hold. Fingerprint scanner is much better located on the xz2c than on xz2. its higher and easier to reach. Vibration motor is finally better and not like on xz1c or xc. it was like a crazy bee in the the past. now perfect. Camera is also definetely better. Not on s9 or pixel 2 level in lowlight but really a visible improvement. of course the s9 can get more light at night but for me its ok. but wish it would have dualpixel autofocus. frontcam has also no auto softskin filter applied like in the past. Additionally Dual sim and sd card. maybe some will be able to port the gcam portrait mode to this nice phone. speakers are louder. not perfect like S9 with dolby atmos but a very good solid performance. maybe also someone will be able to create a mod with atmos support. the buttons could be a bit harder. i fear that in your pocket they could be pressed unintentionally. additionally i hpefully also get the hear on headphones or a ps vr in germany. a nice bonus. Android 8 runs perfectly smooth and quick on the device. much quicker than on any galaxy phone.
Finally my long search has now an end. i have returned my Galaxy s9 due to repeating light leaks. xz2c should arrive next week after easter and my z3compact can finally go to well deserved retirement.

thanks for sharing your early impressions! sounds good! I too hope I found a nice compact phone again to stay with for some time rather than changing it continuously looking for the best solution  I also had a green z3c which was beautiful, but this time the green version seemed pretty dull on web pictures, so I went for the white/silver one...
but in this nice (ITA) review I saw yesterday, green seems much more vivid and nicer, more like my old z3c! don't know if this is the real green in the end, but if it is, I think it was better than the white :crying:
had you a chance to see from real also the green version? if so how it looked?
btw can't wait to get it.. hopefully in about 10 days maximum from now? :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: about the navbar order, really don't know, hope so cause I too prefer back button on the right! :silly:

mine (same color) should be arriving today! :victory::fingers-crossed:
i have the black one lying next to me. its a bit heavy after long term use. wish it would be a bit less heavy. sometime the edges of the usb-c port are irritating my small finger. would be better if sony have moved the usb port to the top.
the bottom mic hole gets sometimes covered by the hand when holding in landscape. on the right side would be better for the hole.
otherwise its a really nice phone. like the frontcam

just got mine and first impressions are.. wow! so beautiful in white and silver color.. really much better than I expected, from the images I was little worried but looks very nice in my hand! doesn't feel too heavy or thick to me, even after applying tempered glass protection and a cheap transparent cover for the back.. and usage with one hand is perfect! so far so good.. will see if I see problems later one.
only down side for me so far is the curved screen, that makes the glass protection to raise a little on the sides :crying: I expected that because of the curved screen, but I bought a smaller tempered glass meant to cover only the flat part of the screen so I hoped it would have been better, but still looks not so nice.. just aesthetic of course but don't like it.. damned curved screens and who invented them!

got mine today. Boy its small and beautiful. Got the black color so the front black bezels look narrower. though for the phone is this size, its thick and heavy. the S9 feels kkind of lighter than this. but all in all its great to use a mini phone after ages!

yeah the s9 feels more balanced since it has 5gramm less and its bigger so the feeling is a bit different. the xz2c feels like a car with very heavy motor in the middle or back.
wonder if sony have put some bricks inside to make it so heavy.

i really like how much easier it will be to carry this phone around while wearing shorts; the note 8 is so large and heavy, my shorts wont stay up, and here is Arizona, you wear shorts every day!!
typing on the small keyboard is sort of a pain too, with my big fat fingers so it will take a while to get used to that too..great sound and great display, thats for sure!
Returned this phone. Why?
Having come from z3 , was expecting vast improvement.
Too heavy, absolute brick. Infact I swear you would get RSI from holding it too long.
Speakers, nasty , distorted at high volume. Maybe just mine, but shop said loads of them returned.
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ2/Broken-XZ2-audio-speaker/td-p/1313319#gref
No 3.5 headphone jack. Nuff said.
No FM radio.
Its spins when on flat desk, even with case!!
Fingerprint scanner in totally wrong place.
Really poor design.
Really? U din't check before buying?
Complain by Sony and not here !! -__-
I also came from Z3. I have to say that it is a major improvement over Z3.
As a matter of fact, we recognize haters because they always start a new thread instead of posting in the already existing threads...
Yeah, the hate is getting way out of proportion.
Many of them who hated this phone never even see the phone in person.
i loathed the design when i saw the first press release fotos...
It looks way better if you hold it in your hands than compared to fotos.
Still could be better.
P.S Someone already reported the thread and asked for moving to Q&A ?
Please close this useless thread !
I came from a z3 and it's a nice big leap in performance. Fingerprint sensor is not in the prefect place but I don't have an issue using it, speakers just fine none of the issues done have. I'm not a fan of the shape out of a case, it's a stupid back and far too slippery, but add I use a case it's not really an issue.
Overall I'm happy.
Next time do a little research before investing so much in a phone. That's not sarcasm, it's common sense.
fingerprint is in my case at the right place. I'm left handed. Came from the Z5. Overall I love the phone. I only hate the backcover and its "feature". to spin it.

I am right handed, and I agree, just the right place. Could never understand people hating on the placement. It's not the same place as other phones. But I like it where it is. The speakers are amazing! And I love the screen. Overall a beautiful phone. The only reason I didn't keep it, is because I work out in the country where T-mobiles service is borderline. Having a phone with great reception is a must for me. And this phone is just average. Really loved everything else about it.

I'm able to hold the phone during hours without any pain, the curved back is a great improvement.
My speakers work without any distortion even at maximum level.
You have a dongle in the box the plug your headphones, 10 more cm at the end of your headphones jack doesn't matter.
FM radio is discontinued since a long time.
I've added a back screen protector, the phone doesn't spin anymore and isn't slippery neither.
Fingerprint scanner could have been placed a little bit higher but after a week of use, that's not a problem anymore.
Design is my taste.
But why did you buy the phone of you don't like it? Were you forced buy someone?

Exactly 100% agree and same meaning what i have ^^
XZ2 is perfect and no issues or problems or something to complain at all
Agreed, those who complained about XZ2 either haven't use the phone and just listened to what haters said or have a faulty device.
I have no complaint about this phone. Perfectly placed fps for aesthetics and ergonomics, lack of 3.5 mm headphone jack is a pity but I can tolerate it, and the design and ergonomics are fantastic.
For me missing is only noice canceling feature in XZ2 or other new line of xperia
This lcd on xz2 is a blurry crap with lines on the screen if surface is hot and you move finger fast. Crap.
Nothing wrong on my LCD screen even when hot surface.

And can u see any difference?
We all know nothing is perfect. So please besides camera issues and ghost touches can we please list and talk about the things we do find negative about this phone. No bashing just true input. My phones on It's way and I don't have it til June 10th but want to know what to expect or look into
Curved display glare
Chinese users reporting issues with pop up camera not working
Dust inside pop up Camera housing
Phone too heavy
Too big
Uneven weight distribution
Piss poor adaptive brightness
Piss poor quality, my device already has abrasions from regular use in a case and gentle use.
The slider for ring, vibrate and silence is easy to move when putting in pocket, the one one the 6t was lot more firm didn't have that issue.
Bluetooth audio crackles (might just be my device)
It is a beast, in isolation not so bad but pick up an S10+ and the Samsung looks and feels small in comparison. Also agree re the distribution
No always on display
No wireless charging
Camera is just ok
No face unlock. Yes I know it does actually have it but IMO popping the camera every time you want to unlock is enough of a hassle for me to not bother
FPS is 2D and not secure (it is though super quick and accurate)
Tap to wake and raise to wake do not always work
I love it though!
Good:
Love the display and curved edge
finger print sensor is fast
haptic vibration is amazing
speakers sound great
Oxygen OS is great
unlocking the bootloader/rooting/MSM download tool lets me customise this device without worry
bad:
I think it's too big for my hands
camera quality is just okay (I think it's the same quality as my OnePlus 6)
If I'm honest, using things like Snapchat and messenger, the photos are amazing. It just using the camera app it's ****house.
Size is good, vibration motor is good. Sound is good. Screen is amazing. Seems any issue I have is really a software update away from a fix...
Screen glare.
Phone tooooo heavy.
Battery is not better than the 6T
The curved screen isn't horrible. Didn't think I'd ever get a phone with a curved screen, but, the curve is to much that it curves in the normal screen area. Needs to be a more subtle curve.
Adaptive brightness isn't as bad as some people say on my phone but it certainly can be improved.
Battery is amazing. I'm getting at least 20% increased sot then my OnePlus 6. This is with auto res, 90hz and screen on auto brightness.
Too big, too heavy not for me.
The pop up camera I do not see as problem, rarely use it.
The curved display is annoying more than once screen elements I need to interact with were on the edge. "annoying not a deal breaker"
Same thing about Qi charging not having it is "annoying but not a deal breaker"
My biggest problem is not the size of the phone but the thickness.
If it was the same thickness as my S10+ and maybe a tad lighter it would feel so much better in the hand.
Don't get complaints about it being too big. It's a big phone and bigger than the 6t, pixel etc. You would have known that before purchasing. Like me buying a pixel 3a and complaining it's too small ...
But I wouldn't buy it because I know it's a small phone ?
Pros
Screen is AMAZING!
Battery Life is awesome!
90hz!
Better additions to stock Android!
Multiple options for gestures!
Drawing gestures are 100%!
Cons
Updates are very slow to roll out and we are always the last to receive them. (T-Mobile variant)
Rare accidental touches on the edge.
Camera resolution is overall OK. (Coming from my Pixel 3 XL, this really isn't a fair comparison)
Dialer app is not as good as the Pixel 3.
Dual stereo speakers could be a better.
Accessories are very expensive.

Agreed.
Complaining about size and weight is useless. These were known. Curved screen yep. Don't complain.
The glare from the curved edge is an issue in some cases.
I don't have any real complaints.
I'm a realist and nothing is perfect, definitely not tech related products.
Loving all the input but for those who day heavy what phones are you coming from? I have a LG g6 ATM and with the case I use more often than any other case it weighs in at 226g so ok think that the OP7 pro wouldn't be that much heavier with a decent case on it. I'm mostly upgrading cause ALWAYS wanted a OP device on Verizon but the 6T just didn't sit with me well. Also I was going to buy a $300+ tablet for my photo editing but I figured the OP7 pro is large enough and better use of funds.
This phones adaptive brightness is meh.
When it hits ultra high brightness it can appear washed out.
The haptic motor is still meh.
Otherwise a great phone.
sad adaptive brightness (should be fixed with software)
screen could be a bit brighter when outside.
stereo speakers sound better than my pixel 2 xl
camera is good but not as good as my pixel 2 xl
small things, nothing serious. I love this phone and its the best phone overall that ive ever owned. To each their own though right? Something could be blatantly wrong with it or (what a lot of us do) if look for things to be wrong with the phone. No phone is perfect. There never will be, otherwise companies would go out of business.
I still rock the 6t, but have you guys noticed any difference in the camera after the software update "camera fix" on the 7plus?. In quotes because we all know OP has awful "fixes"
I like that it's big phone.
I don't have ladyboi hands so the phone is perfect for me. In fact I even have a bulky case on it which makes it even better.
As far as the camera goes... I have a Sony a7r iii for pictures. I will probably never even use the camera on the phone.
People that buy a "phone" and piss about not being able to take glamor shots with it are annoying.
I do play games though and I can definitely tell the difference between this device and my 6T. The 7Pro plays all my games amazingly.
I run 2 businesses with this device and have zero hiccups.
I don't have ghost touches.
I don't have a problem with curved screens.
Is it perfect?
Good enough for me.
Maybe not for you.

This is Rich as over the last couple years people have been screaming to make the phone a bit thicker to accommodate a larger battery as they'd rather have more battery life. Now people are b!tching about A SLIGHTLY thicker phone with a larger battery and it's only thicker by roughly 1mm!?!?
