Hello everyone,
Greetings from Buma! The Galaxy Note 10.1 N8013 (Wi-Fi Only) is my first Android device, and I've been flashing roms and doing various other tweaks and things ever since I got it.
However, every non-TW ROM has fallen flat for me in terms of stability, so I've resorted to a rooted Stock ROM which I have de-bloated and flashed the Boeffla Kernel (stable 2.2).
Here lies the snag: performance and battery life are sexy, but I've been unable to get a good Charging Rate.
For instance, it charges 50 percent over the course of 6 hours while turned off.
Boeffla Config V2 says that the charging rate is 1900 (default) and USB charging rate is around 400 (default as well).
Any help would be appreciated as Boeffla has been pefect so far, except for this slow charge...my battery health seems to be good as well, checking through other apps...
Sincerely,
mowgli

It's a used N8013 (coming up on 1 years old) with the OEM charger. And charging is fine on other ROMs (tested on IOKP) and Kernels (Zeus Kernel with stock TW, for instance).
Could it have something to do with my CPU Idle mode choice " Idle + LPA"?
Thank you for trying to help.

For more accurate result use Battery Monitor Widget.
Use your device until the battery is lower than 80% (the lower the better).
Why? Because when your battery reach 90% the charging state will become slow/normal charging to prevent battery damage.
Close all running apps
Open Battery Monitor Widget or set it as a widget to make it easier.
Connect your charger.
Close the screen & wait about 1 - 2 minutes.
Activate the screen & look for the charging rate.
Quick Charging : 1100 ~ 1600 mAh
Normal Charging : 100 ~ 800 mAh
Slow Charging : < 100 mAh
Quick Charging should make the charging last around 5 hours from 0 - 10% to 100%
Normal Charging should make the charging last around 7 - 10 hours.
Slow Charging can last more than 12 hours or not charging at all, even depleting your battery while charging.

hello ppl,
I have this issue with my battery:
This afternoon my battery indicated 82%. the phone shut down and after a reboot it indicated around 27% battery left.
Later in the afternoon, after a reboot, I charged it for like 2 mins. it indicated 12%
I unplugged it and rebooted into recovery (4EXT) and it indicated 60% battery lvl.
I rebooted the ROM again and this indicated 34%
this event (reading 3 different battery lvls) took place in 1 minute, and the phone was not charger connected. It went from 12, to 60 and to 34%.
This really looks like a battery stats issue but what I can't help to wonder about is the following; do recovery and the ROM use different battery stats? this particular story sure gives that impression.
I plan to wipe battery stats after a full USB charge. U guys got any pointers I could consider? I have a stock batter for about 2 years now.
ROM: CM10.1 by Albinoman
Kernel: 3.0.67 ChronicBruce Linaro
Governor: ondemand
clockspeed: MIN 384 MAX 1728
I/O schedular: SIO
note: I did not experience any battery issue with this setup for at least 4 months prior to this problem, while using this setup.
attached a SS of the battery levels after reboot and shutdowns.
Seems like you're experiencing the same issues. The battery percentage was also way higher in recovery mode than Android showed me. Never noticed that before, so I'm not sure if that's normal, or both our phones / batteries are malfunctioning.
Wiping battery stats does nothing. 2 years is quite long for a battery, get an Anker?

Before buying a new battery, did you attempt to flash a new ROM? becuase you seem to run a (very) old version of CM10.1 (I believe since March?), and although it's weird this popped up after four months, it is possible to be a problem in the ROM, especially with all the bugs fixed along the way. I believe updating the ROM should be the thing to do, before trying to change hardware parts (even battery), and if it won't work, you can always buy a battery (don't ofrget to back up your current ROM first).

I'm a mediocre XDA visitor and phone tweaker, so I didn't realize ROM's would get obsolete that quick (in my opinion). I will try to flash a updated CM, see if that works.
ok I updated my ROM. But there's no change in my batterie's behavior: shutdowns at high battery lvls and drops from enar full to near empty after the reboot.
I'm plannign to buy an Anker. but if anyone has some pointers that would be mint.
I already did the paper between battery trick.
Another update, today i noticed that the battery is a little bit swollen. The battery casing doesn't close properly anymore. When looking closely i notice the battery being slightly thicker. I don't trust it and don't use it anymore untill i got the anker
hi,
I test few custom rom with android 4.3 and 4.2 (CM 10-10.2 , PAC-MAN 1.3 ,aokp 4.2,CARBON Etc.). I love them but charging very slow! To charge my phone from 37% to 90% Takes 12 Hours! But with custom rom with android 4.0.3(Android Revolution HD 7.3) Takes lass 5 Hours with the same charger.
This is normal? How to fix it?

I think you have a battery problem.
I think you have a battery problem.
try Anker, I'm very happy
I noticed that on my sensation too. It doesn't take that long, but it takes a lot longer than on stock rom. I also noticed if i restart my phone while charging it goes higher, for example when its at 85% and i restart it sais 100%, but then it restarts even faster

as far as i know the kernel decides wether you can fastcharge with more than 500mA (normal usb 2.0 mA) or not. Perhaps you should try another kernel. For example (if you don't already use it) try sultan kernel, i'm very happy with that and during the installation you can choos wether you want fastcharge or not.
Tab 4 SM-T230NU.
Battery usage is just totally cool. About 30% of the 13 hours was wifi browsing/apps/etc. the rest was graphics intensive app's without wifi. I had a older chinese tab before with only ~5 hours. This tablet. is totally awsome.
I am now reading up on rooting, init.d, busybox, build.prop, etc. No real ROM's yet, just cleaning up the junk.

How long does it take for your t230nu to fully charge? I've started charging at 10:30am @ 45%, now 12:14pm @ 76%.. Only 31% charge in almost 2hrs. Seem rather slow.. I clear all task, put it in airplane mode even.

do you charge via computer USB or wall charger? its a lot faster with wall charger (higher voltage = higher amps?)

T230NU takes quite long to get fully charged. It takes between 4-6hrs. T330NU is another story. I have to send my T330NU in for service/repair of battery today after 5 months. It take under 5 minutes to get battery charged from 0% to 12%. and it takes a minute or two of watching a short youtube video to discharge the power to 5% One one instant the battery shows it have 90% of charged. Plug it into the USB port to transfer 100mb of mp3 from PC to the T330NU. The battery is 100% by the time I'm done with the file copying and unplug the USB cable. that is how bad the damn T330NU battery has become.
Some people have been looking down on the 7 inch version but really I have been rather happy with it! Battery seems to go forever, its performance is fairly good (better once the bloat is removed) and its really quite light!
The downside is for modders is a new brand of CPU that from what I have seem some would rather have it as an easy port of known hardware, but I it also seems some have stepped up to try and work with the hardware.
I'm watching quite closely to see what the scene will do with this tablet and while I have been underwhelmed by the current nodded stock ROMs (a personal opinion barebones ROM is far too bare bones for my liking and Archon ROM had some UI and app customisations that didn't sit well with me) though note that what's not for me could be for you! I would still recommend making a nand backup and get a copy of your stock ROM just in case and give them a fair shot. It could be just what you want!
Keep up the great work guys!

Hi I have now had my OPO for one year now. 3 months ago however I ruined my display due to water going in the phone, rest of phone was working fine. I brought in a new display and fixed it just yesterday. Phone's fine however I've run into one problem.
Phone charges really slowly. 5 hours for a full charge. It wasn't like that before. It used to take 5 hours only if I was using a 1A charger. But now even with OPO charger and a Sony 1.5A charger it takes the same. Previously it only took 60-90 minutes with the OPO charger.
I used the OPO Charging Current app and I'm only getting on average 300 mA while charging. Shouldn't I be getting around 2000?
help needed
Edit: I forgot to add, I was in CyanideL ROM before, thought it was a software issue, and instaleld BlissPop latest, but same on both
Guys help?

Same problem with me in each and every ROM. Never found any workarounds. So I just flashed AK kernel and increased AC Charging current to 2100mA using Synapse. Now it works alright but whenever I plug into charging I must check what current I am getting because sometimes even if I have increased it to 2100 it charges with 50-100mA. Simply reconnecting the chrger does the trick though. Also IF you dont prefer AK Kernel, latest Resurrected Kernel also has the feature, but you'll have to increase the currently manually at each boot using Terminal.

hello.
how to "activate" s7e battery in s6 on custom rom (nexus os 9).
I changed the s6 battery to the s7e battery and I have the same time of work on one charge, max 2.5h SOT and 12h standby.
accu battery shown max capacity 1900mAh (like old one battery) of 3600mAh
First of all make sure your battery is original.
Then you will need a Kernel that provides S7 Edge battery funcionality. You can reffer to this site: https://duckyb.github.io/BatteryMod/links.html
There are methods listed to properly calibrate your new battery.
I've also made this modification, but I'm running 7.0 S8 Stock Port with Maritos V14 Kernel and it works fantastic. I get around 5-6h SOT with movies and other stuff.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I believe that is just a standard lipo charge protection circuit that prevents the battery from going below minimum or over max. The s6 and s7edge batteries should have a similar circuit. I can't see clearly in your image but one of the chips should say DW01.
I have made this change. You don't need to do anything just let the phone run through a couple charge and discharge cycles and it adjust to the bigger battery. If you have not noticed any change I would simply say you probably got a fake battery of lower mAh rating. I noticed almost immediately. End of day 2 I had like 75% battery. The S7 edge battery is fatter though but cause I use a case the small gap between the back glass cover is not visible. If I were to do the mod again I would bond 2 or 3 pieces of paper together with resin. Let it dry and draw a perfect outline on them, then cut that out with scissors and use it as a spacer.

hello,
I made the battery mod but after days of calibration, I'm facing a strange issue, my battery dies after being at 0% for 1 hour and the phone automatically shutdown.
But the phone still has battery life, I can leave it on android revovery menu for almost 4 hours, until it shutdown it seems that android doesn't seem to recognize the extra battery capacity.
What can I do ? Is there any patch that can improve the battery recognition ? I don't want to root.
My phone is unroot, stock rom.

Don't know why you don't want root. Here's my steps for G920F:
1. Install TWRP as recovery system
2. Install Ultimate Nougat ROM (with Magisk included so after this your phone get rooted)
3. install Martitos Kernel for battery
4. Install Magisk Apps for Root because Martitos might remove magisk.
Battery life of Samsung S6 G920F with S7 Battery is great now!
Can I install other custom roms out there? And just let the battery calibrate itself? My phone constantly gets hot with just browsing the internet.
I'm looking for android go custom rom.. Big battery + rom for weak phones might = days of battery life
