[Q] Sudden Wi-Fi issues Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got the phone in December and I haven't had a problem. I use the standard Xfinity router and all my other wireless devices are unaffected. All of a sudden the Facebook and YouTube apps will not work properly. I can navigate to these sites on Chrome no problem. Watching a video on YouTube or loading my news feed via the apps just doesn't work. If I turn Wi-Fi off the apps work fine, it's just over WiFi. Also I have uninstalled the updates to these apps and it did nothing.

[Q] Wifi disconnecting while streaming video

Hi, I have a Xoom Wifi, originally Canadian but flashed the US firmware, and updated to ICS 4.0.4.
I've noticed that the Wifi tends to disconnect sporadically and only while streaming video (watching YouTube videos, either in the YouTube app or on Chrome, or streaming from a local machine via Plex or Emit). It never ever seems to happen when doing normal browsing, or even copying large files via a shared network folder, only when watching video. Rebooting the tablet seems to fix the problem for a while, but wifi starts dropping about 20 minutes after booting and loading a streaming movie.
I've tried changing DHCP to a static IP, changing the wifi channel, and several different routers, and the problem stays the same. Has anyone else experienced this or heard of a fix?

[Q] Keep 4G connection when streaming to WiFi tv.

Hej.
I'm confused, I must have tried all streaming apps there is for streaming to WiFi TV and all of them shuts down my 4g connection when hooking up to TV on WiFi. I can not see the point of streaming when loosing my internet connection, I have tried them all, chromecast, bubblepnp, localcast etc and all of them connects to my TV and I can play some music stored on SD but I am not able finding out how to get chrome browser sharing to TV etc or tubio app to play on TV as the mobile data connection is shut down. I'm convinced it is a software problem as what I'm looking for is practically a extended WiFi hotspot. I'm using a huawei g740 android version 4.1.2 phone, Sony bravia TV and a Chinese TV stick name something, it all connects on WiFi so Im stating all hardware works. Please help.

Content heavy apps won't work on wifi :/

I have been having issues with my wifi connection for over a week, instagram takes a good while to load the pictures, facebook won't load at all, pictures on twitter take a while to load , but chrome works fine and I do have internet, at first I thought it was my Nexus 5, but my housemate is having issues too , so I started thinking it was an android issue since my laptop works just fine but then I noticed that I'm not able to connect to my VPN with at all, what could be going on? Do you guys have any idea? To make things worse the internet company only offers tech support for ethernet but not for wifi

Anyone else struggling with WiFi?

Hi All?
Is anyone having any problems with their WiFi on their Pixel?
Doesn’t matter what app im using (Facebook WhatsApp ect) the WiFi doesn’t seem to work correctly. It is connected constantly so its not dropping out, however videos on Facebook just won’t play, or play and buffer for ages.
It seems intermittent though, sometime it will work fine, but this is about 1 in 10,
If I turn off WiFi and connect to 4g it works fine instantly.
I’m on Pure Nexus, but this problem existed before hand on stock.
I have upgraded modem,
I have checked the channels on the router,
I have disabled 2.4 ghz and done 5Ghz only and the problem is still there.
I’m on Virgin media, 300mb which works perfectly fine via cable and laptop via wifi.
Any ideas?
