Is there anyway to remove or uninstall Motorola Motocare without root or negatively affecting my phone?
It drains the majority of my battery (other than the screen).

Well it seems rooting would positively effect the phone if by doing so you can stop MotoCare battery drain?
What app is that?

You have turned those settings off in Settings > Motorola privacy?
(I had to ask)
it is remains on even if you turned it off in the setting..
however, your app (battery doctor) shows weird numbers. what is a base (100%) for the percentage? power usage by apps only, right? there is no screen, wifi, etc.
right now on my moto, the battery doctor shows 12% for moto care (turned off in setting) but in the stock battery setting its not even listed (with the lowest listed reading of 2%)

It's not very accurate at all. Supposedly the displays Samsung uses are power sippers (according to them anyway), and I have apps that stay on in the background for no apparent reason that never show up on the list.

I personally like Battery Monitor Widget. It's free, so if you don't like it, you can uninstall it.
Hi, I'm brand new to this site. I'm looking for help fixing my galaxy s 3 battery life. It is running android 4.3. The GPS problem that others have experienced I am not experiencing. I'm not rooted. Everything is stock. I have a few apps disabled such as Google plus etc. I'm just looking to find a cause and hopefully a fix to my problem. I'm losing 1 to 3 percent an hour while idle. While in use I could drop 6 to 10 percent an hour. I am a moderate user. I mostly use facebook, music apps and web browsing. I also have sync turned off for facebook and Google.

Download wakelock detector from the market and run it. Also go into settings -> account and tab on location, make sure location reporting is turn off.
Ok I turned location services off. Here is a screenshot of wakelock what am I looking for? I also uninstalled the facebook app because I read that's a battery killer

I'm stock, because. I don't know how to root, and the 4.3 is a massive disappoint to me - the battery drain is extraordinarily high. 3 hours of light use drained 50% juice.
On the VZ forums, people are livid.

My bro experiencing lag on his fone after 4.3 update he also dislike clock widget on lockscreen.
He was experiencing crappy battery but after he install wakelock and deleted apps his daughter download his battery improve a bit.

Heavy drains are from Google service stuff. Go into settings -> account-> location. tab on location and make sure "location report" turn off. If you have multiple account make sure you turn them all off. Then install wakelock detector from the market and see what else is draining your battery. Verizon stock is not bad on battery,

Hi guys, I've just bought a Motorola moto g 16gb and then I've installed android 4.4.2 and I noticed that the battery stats doesn't show the battery usage of many user apps..
Is it a bug or not?
(Before this phone I had a HTC desire c with android 4.1.2 cyanogenmod)
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It is not a bug.. android does not show user apps battery data anymore..
Sent from my XT1033 using Tapatalk
Ah.. I found it very useful sometime..
And is it normal the percentage of battery used by the screen? (I keep it around 30/40% during the day)

It does, but it won't show any user app that is less than (I think) 4% use. He's got a user app showing up on the list in his screenshot.
What has changed is that some user app use of core OS features now get reported as Android OS/Android System where as under JB they were reported as the originating app.

Yesterday I recharged it so the old screen on time is gone.. But today I didn't used it a lot but the percentage of used battery is 53%

Hey @smoza I noticed in your screenshots you're using a battery percentage app. Did you know that KitKat already supports battery percentage? You can enable it with this app, without root https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent

OK, really need to know battery consumed, how much of that is reported to be the screen and the screen on time to see if that is an issue. It is normal for screen to be top of the list with regular usage but how much it drains (and how much screen on time you get) is basically going to be a function of your brightness settings.
Looking at your second screen shot I can see a couple of things you might want to investigate/change.
Wifi is always on - fine if you are actually connected to wifi - but if you are out and about and not using a wifi connection having wifi enabled will add a significant amount to your idle drain rate. You should also disable 'Scanning always available' in the Advanced Wifi Settings (Settings/Wifi/Menu Button.Advanced).
Your cell signal is often quite poor - not a lot you can do about it but that will cause faster drain when you are connected to mobile data.
Your phone is waking up regularly when not in use. There could be numerous causes for this, but most likely it is having location set to High Accuracy or Battery Saver - the phone is regularly collecting info from your cell tower connections and surrounding wifi networks to feed back to Google to get a location fix, and apps that like to know your location may be asking for a fix regularly. Depending on what you use location for you may wish to consider turning it off entirely or running in Device Only mode.
You've used GPS - some people have experienced an issue with a continually higher drain rate after using GPS - it's intermittent - for some it is everytime after using GPS, some most of the time, others very occasionally. A reboot will fix if this is an issue (it doesn't look like it is a problem but it's hard to tell - it's most obvious if the battery drains in airplane mode).
I turned off the GPS right now, disabled 'scanning always available' and set the brightness as auto.. I'll write here if this will increase my battery life or not, thank you anyway

You might want to keep it between 10 to 20% manually adjusting to higher levels if you're going outside, for the brightness sensor to not be working and therefore, consuming more battery.
From this morning at 10a.m. with 94% of battery I reached the 9p.m. with 7% of battery and I used it a bit more of my average use.. That's better than before (I had to charge my phone at 8p.m.), so thank you guys

Hello!
I think that this might help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/tut-disable-fast-dormancy-battery-life-t2348597
That was the cause of battery drain on my Xperia L, some months ago, and when i disabled fast dormancy, the drain stopped.
You will need to have your phone rooted and buxybox installed.
Yep same here, phone app drain, since new firmware (15.3.A.1.17)
Fixed with above solution, with this rootkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/root-firmware-15-3-1-12-t2591290
Check which App is drawing battery uaing better battery statistics and look for any app causing wake issues! Disable them and things would improve !

Settings / battery. THe page before the graph you posted - which apps are listed there, and what are the %? (That said, you use the phone a lot - there is a lot of screen on/ awake time on your graph. Turn the screen brightness down maybe?)

I am also getting the issue. I'm on 6-7, 24.3.7, rooted, and if I use it intensely it will go down to 14% before 3:30 PM. I'm surprised, as the issue never happened when I got the phone new.
If your screen is 42%, you're just using it a lot. The Mini has a small battery. Maybe you can try setting brightness down, but it looks like this is drain because you use it rather than a runaway app or process.
That said, Google Play services and Google services have been running high on my usage list lately. There's not much you can do about that, except maybe turn off background sync, which sort of negates the reason I bought a smartphone in the first place.
