I'm struggling through a problem on my new Samsung Captivate running the stock Android 2.1 ROM. I came from a WinMo device and managed to export/import most of my SMS messages. In the process though, the number for one of my contacts got messed up and I don't know how to fix it.
Looking at the contact itself, the number is listed as "314-555-1234" which is all good and awesome. When I try to send a message though, it tries to send it to ",+13145551234". I am trying to figure out how I can remove that leading comma, preferably without deleting all of the messages from this contact. The leading comma is preventing my messages from being sent.
Anyone have any ideas? Are there any applications I can try? Is there an SMS database I can edit somewhere?
TIA,
Corey

There is no option like this.
That is lame that you can't. I've said it before and I'll say it again "I miss Windows Mobile". Sure it froze here and there and it wasn't as pretty as WP but if you needed it to do something, it did it.
no this option now, and microsoft did not provide the access to MMS yet..so no app for this either
I can use mms if i run htc connection setup and chose att.
There is no option to erase multiple SMS messages at once, but you can delete a single SMS at a time by simply tapping and holding on the specific SMS to bring up a menu of options (which includes Delete).
Thanks for your reply I am aware of deleting single sms, but I want a option of deleting multiple sms at once in a thread like in iphone. Deleting one by one is way too annoying
super sms quick delete seems to work really well
would link it but too new to post links. just search market.android.com

You seem to be lost. This is a WP7 forum.

Fingers crossed they implement something the same as with the emails (where you can just tap to the side and all the checkboxes appear). I love how quick that is to delete email messages.
There doesn't seem to be anything in the public Mango APIs to allow developers to write something that would help. Microsoft only seem to let developers compose and send messages in their apps, not list or delete existing sms's.
I have problem with my contacts. There are some that are double with same information, there are some that are same, but on different contact cards. There is bunch of them, and I rly cant bother going trough all of them... I have been searching, but I wasn't able to find application that will do these jobs:
1. Merge contacts with same name, and discard identical data.
2. Delete multiple contacts with same information.
It is not much, and I realise that much people would like to have that one Does anyone know of something that will help me?
Cheers
Hi guys. I've been looking around for similar thread but didn't find anything useful.
Could you please tell me is there a way to block receiving messages from an unknown contacts on whatsapp?
Is there any other external app that might do the job and help me? Like app that might help me to hide myself on whatsapp, so that the people whose number I don't have in my contact list can't see me using whatsapp and in that way stop them from sending me messages?
I used a lot of blockers that can be found on market, but none of them helps. Do you by any chance know about any other way that might help, or an app, or anything?
I use Samsung Galaxy S3.
Thanks in advance!
Hi guys.
If not able, can you at least tell me is there a way to hide my nuber, so that it's not visible to others?
Tried to hide it by going to flight mode during number verification but it doesn't work for me.
Would appreciate any kind of help!
Thank you!
Like the title says. I noticed if I hit search in messages the pictures available are ones I've long since deleted from the phone. Some are sensitive but I can't delete them from here. Any advice on how to get rid of them is appreciated.. thx
Change the messaging app, or root the phone. You may also complain to Google, but as there are so many users who are grateful for this behaviour, because they can restore old and deleted pictures from their messages, I do not think you will have any success!
