There is no option like this.

That is lame that you can't. I've said it before and I'll say it again "I miss Windows Mobile". Sure it froze here and there and it wasn't as pretty as WP but if you needed it to do something, it did it.

no this option now, and microsoft did not provide the access to MMS yet..so no app for this either

I can use mms if i run htc connection setup and chose att.

There is no option to erase multiple SMS messages at once, but you can delete a single SMS at a time by simply tapping and holding on the specific SMS to bring up a menu of options (which includes Delete).

Thanks for your reply I am aware of deleting single sms, but I want a option of deleting multiple sms at once in a thread like in iphone. Deleting one by one is way too annoying

super sms quick delete seems to work really well
would link it but too new to post links. just search market.android.com

You seem to be lost. This is a WP7 forum.

Fingers crossed they implement something the same as with the emails (where you can just tap to the side and all the checkboxes appear). I love how quick that is to delete email messages.
There doesn't seem to be anything in the public Mango APIs to allow developers to write something that would help. Microsoft only seem to let developers compose and send messages in their apps, not list or delete existing sms's.

Html-mail -- Internet pictures blocked

Hello all,
Is there a way to automatically download pictures in html-mail? Now my device says: "To protect your privacy, pictures from the Internet are not automatically downloaded." Very annoying ...
I have a HTC P3300 with windows mobile 6 (Meschle's ROM)
Thanks
Automatic pic download?????
I was thinking the same thing....Im trying to find out now
...this has got to be THE most annoying thing EVER...
I've been looking for a solution to this one too...
I want my html email to be ACTUAL html WITH pictures by default...whats the point of blocking the pictures? You might as wel just use text email instead...!
PLEASE post the solution to this if you find it...
afaik if you get a spam mail with images, and these are downloaded, they recognize it and then you will get TONS of spam.
so the first spam mail is just a test for that e-mail address.

This I understand. But with respect, that still has nothing to do with wanting the option of turning the images on or off of my own volition.
Not to mention in MY case, I have rules set up that move email from my contact address book to a folder called "sync" - and thats the only folder that I am syncing to my mobile. were talking friends and business clients...NOT anything else...so in my case, that rule fails...what...3x a year...if that.
Again, anyone know how to turn OFF the automatic picture blocking of html email on wm6?
Drat! Had hoped I'd find a solution to this problem, but it looks like I'll have to keep searching, like everyone else? Doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be an options setting or registry flag to control this behavior since it is so annoying to some of us...
anyone ever find a way to do this? I see lots of threads about it but no answers.
There is still No Answer on this Forum or any other that I have found. I moved to Qmail and Am very happy, of Course it has its own challenges.
I'm also looking for a solution to this.
so Bumpety Bump Bump!!!
Some solution please ....

Threaded text messaging problem

I did a search, but didn't find anything related to this. Maybe my search-fu is weak... Whenever I am txting someone and I keep that thread open, all the new messages I receive show up in bold, or unread. The only way I can get them to show up as read is to close that thread and reopen it as many times as however many unread messages I have in that individual thread. It could be something obvious that I'm missing, but it's getting kind of annoying. Any help would be much appreciated.
Nevermind. I found a fix.

I used the .cab file in This thread.

No delete email in preview?

I find it strange that you cannot delete emails in the preview.
I suggest that if we do a circle-movement with our fingers then it could go to trashcan or just a "delete email"-icon.
Is there any such mod?
I would like an option like this too.
Even replacing the "more" softkey by a "delete" would be great.

I'd like to have this too,... this will improve usability of the device
It is so annoying that I can't delete crap quickly and have to open all messages to delete something.... I would love to see this too...
Me too!
Can't understand why this wasn't standard.
Yes, I would like that also.
Me three! Very annoying
The fact that you have to open it in the WM email app to mark it as read is annoying for me, rather than just reading it in Sense like a SMS does!
Delete in preview mode
Me too... willing to donate, if someone can build the cab to allow this....
Steve
Would also love this

This is more annoying than not having delete softkey in the preview, but if someone can tweak them both that would be nice.
I would love that kind of option!
Some times I wonder if the people who develops those applications use the applications themselves. It happens with SMS reader but not with the E-Mail reader...
I would like to have this function....but we know how stupid can be developers at htc......
I think this can be achieved with SSMaHo and a MortScript. Search for them.
It's unbelievable that a company like HTC is not capable to develope an emailprogramm witch such a basic function.
I'm sure there are people on this forum who are capable to create this function in a CAB file. Thanks in advance
I presume there's no solution to this annoying little problem then?
Or just install Cookies Home Tab 2.0 and use the email widget which gives you the ability to delete emails directly from the widget Basically lets you flick through your emails on the home tab and has buttons for 'Write New' and delete as well as a menu which lets you circle through your email accounts, open the WM Inbox, send and receive, etc. Where have you all been
This has now been implemented in the latest official ROM (3.14).
There is now a Delete Message option on the menu in the Sense mail tab.

Thanks chaps, I have CHT 1.8.5 installed and was waiting for final version before installing & was going to take the opportunity then to upgrade ROM too. Good to know it's been sorted in the recent ROM upgrade though

[Q] SMS Issues

I have recently got the X10i after yrs of a N95 ( sorry ), am doing my best to like the phone and am giving it every chance. I have lurked on this site and last week I rooted the phone and made it more personnal for me, thanks to the developers and those who provide the info for rooting.
I quickly removed the moxier stuff and also the messaging app but I am having issues with handcent sms, I wanted it for group/bulk texting tbh but it seems I have to restart the phone to get it to send a text to a group which has got 18 recipients.
Once the phone has started up I can send a group text no probs but the second group text will send to 1 or 2 of my contacts but the rest then fail, so I then restart the phone and resend the text and they get delivered, I have tried chompsms, grouptext and groupui, but each one gives me the same problem.
Has anybody got any ideas or another app I could try to resolve this issue ?
maybe it could be that the sms apps you use need (or work thanks) the main messaging app which were installed on the phone, the one you uninstalled.

I dont think it is that to be honest, I think it is more to do with the amount of contacts in the list, so I am hopeful that somebody confirms this and also gives me a better option.

Actually this could be true, as you should not remove core system applications, such as messaging.
so, you can try resetting your phone using Update Service software on your pc. I tried searching for an SMS app in my mobile folder to share with you, but there are several files that may be connected togheter, about messaging, and I am not able to choose the right one (or ones) to share.

[Q] Security: Why some Apps read SMS

I want to know why some Apps read my SMS...
Downloaded "Go Keyboard" from the market and I think it is a nice App. But when I read the (German) comments, some people complaint about that this App can read your SMS.
What do you think?

If the keyboard should be smart it needs to learn from your typing. One way is to read your SMS/texts or emails.
So you think this is important for the app to work properly and can be neglected?
Maybe sounds like a stupid question but I am still an Android beginner.
Anyway there is nothing important in my messages that I should worry about...

As nothing is save on the internet... it's up to you. The app isn't unknown and widely spread/used, I'd not worry about giving the requested permission.
Other apps however... different story. Rethink your decision everytime an app requests permissions.
If the app works w/o that specific permission is something I don't know. There's an app that can restrict specific permissions, requires root and I sadly don't remember the name right now.
Of course an app can work without certain permissions. But those permission make it more powerful and add functions. If you chopped off your arms, you couldn't entertain someone with juggling could you ?

Just saying
I wondered the same thing! I recently switched to KelLMSKing MIUI Mod and now when I get an SMS, I get two notifications. One is Car Locator wants to read my SMS. It is a GPS App where I can save my car's position in a parking lot and find it easily again. I have no idea why it would want to intercept my SMS messages, so I Deny it.. I looked it up and apparently in some countries, you can pay for parking by text message, and receive reminders that time is running out. That's a feature I'll never use, so I'll just tell it to remember to always Deny that request. The other notification is from Touchdown, which gets my Exchange Server emails for work.. I'm not sure what SMS it would be looking for, so I'll deny them, too
As for the keyboard, I have no idea why it would want to read incoming messages or how that would help it to learn your style.
I think it's more of a perusal of the messages for commonly typed words so that it knows the best words to recommend and predict. Like a scan, to add your speech to the dictionary.
I don't believe any developer is sitting up at night reading my texts. If he is, he should hit me back and help me out with some of my problems. <_<
What is Facebook's excuse then?
edit SMS or MMS
Allows application to write to SMS messages stored on your device or SIM card. Malicious applications may delete your messages.
receive SMS
Allows application to receive and process SMS messages. Malicious applications may monitor your messages or delete them without showing them to you.
read SMS or MMS
Allows application to read SMS messages stored on your device or SIM card. Malicious applications may read your confidential messages.

Facebook just blatently wants info to target you for advertising... but because theyre so big most people don't care
Facebook needs that permission to verify your account. Afair there's an option to add your mobile# to your fb account.
An application in the market that has been around awhile should be fine. Google will remove malicious software as soon as they know about it. It is new apps asking these permissions that I would be weary of. I use the Go keyboard myself and love it with royal purple neon theme.
