I tried to ask the question in the appropriate thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28015542&postcount=27
But that thread got LOCKED and a redirect was posted to a "general" thread for further discussion but that given thread doesn't seem to be "Device Specific" to the TF300T, thus I'm not inclined to post my question there.
Can anyone answer this as in if Beats Audio will work on stock-rooted us.30 (Not unlocked), and post the exact install method so I don't end up "bricking"?
Thanks.
It's a flashable zip, so you can't install it if you aren't unlocked.

I understand it couldn't be flashed, however, there was mention of the possibility to "extract" the .zip and manually overwrite system files but it was never confirmed so I am basically asking if this method would work... :fingers-crossed:

Don't know if manually placing files in root explorer works for sure but flashing the zip in .30 stock does work so I don't see why not

Works fine, all I did was put /system from the zip on my sdcard and used a root explorer to merge it with the real /system. Just looks like a glorified DSPManager without as many options and BEATS written all over it, but it works...

Curious, Did you back up any system files first? And did you have to change permissions on any of the copied files?

Nope, just dropped them in, if you want back up any system files that get replaced (if there are any, I didn't check), but you can always just pull them from a stock ROM if necessary. For your other questions, I have no idea, all I saw was the Awesome BEATS app, I figured that was all it was. I'll look at it.
Edit: found the Music effects option, right under Sound in the settings. Switched from MusicFX to Awesome BEATS.

Thanks for the follow-up. I just now copied them again/rebooted as I didn't see any of the new files in /system... This time it worked! I have both the App and the mentioned Settings which I've also switched to Awesome BEATS.
Now to play a little and see how this works. I think it is designed to have best effect (sound quality improvement) using BT and/or headphones but I could be wrong.
In d stock camera i get this shutter sound and i find no way to turn it off. I din have the issue on gb. its on stock ics . Any way to disable it?

You mean the sound when capture? If your camera setting cannot disable it,goto system/media/audio/ui and delete the 'camera_click.ogg'

I'm on the first ICS leak, and the option is still there. When in the camera app touch the gear icon and its the last option in the list. If you don't have the toolbar open, press the menu button.

Hi Mtn, On the MB865 ICS OTA official upgrade there is indeed no shutter sound setting available (nothing is below available storage nor any where in the settings). I believe you are on the ICS leak ver & hence for the US ver they have included the same I u/s. Peculiarly in contrast to the original post, in my case I do not have the shutter sound & there would be times when I would need this sound for audio feedback & am at a loss how to enable this shutter sound. I guess the shutter sound is off in my case because of a spy cam app I use but don't feel like tinkering that firmware based option.

Do you need it for the Android 4.2 camera or the stock camera from the Razr HD? I should be able to upload for you tonight.
Actually if you could upload just the 2 sounds camera click and video record. I don't think it matters what version. But technically I'm on 4.0.4 ICS. I need those 2 files for the update to jelly bean to work. It's pretty stupid if you ask me

Has 4.2 HDR-Option like the Stock 4.1?
I haven't installed the one linked to, however I've tried a couple ports from the 4.2 camera on this phone and a Samsung S II and it hasn't had that feature.
As for the question about shutter speed (answers come so slow when it comes to this phone hey?), you can look at "details" in the gallery apps, stock one is what I set as default, and they seem about the same or similar at least, as does UCam which I installed a while back but have found the 4.2 one my favourite. All 3 of them auto adjust the shutter. It of course has the option to make it longer or shorter.
It doesn't hurt, assuming your rooted, to give it a try and see how you like it. If you're manually copying the files then be sure to pull the zip file apart and look at what the file permissions are supposed to be. The gallery is atypical of what you'd expect in /system/app in the port I have. Also, make sure you aren't overwriting any libraries, or that if you are, to rename the one you're overwriting. The port I use has a library by the same name. It seems to work well with both the stock and 4.2 camera if you do rename or accidentally overwrite, though.

The 4.2 camera I linked does not have HDR. However One can probably borrow one that does from mickeyinid's AOKP build which has it
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
The 4.2 from AOKP should be the same as in current CM10.1 build. It has HDR option, yes. But it is not usable (on my international XT925), since it shoots it's HDR photos in timeframe of three, four seconds; Not practicable.
The stock JB -cam is capable of shooting hdr in short timeframe of a few hundred milliseconds - those HDR-Photos are good IMHO.
Do you want to turn your top front speaker on for music and notifications?
Please thank @langeveld024 for his great work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2902915
His thread has great descriptions of exactly what this mod does and all the different options.
****with the help of @toastido and @noellenchris they got everything working for the note 3****
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Download the zip and with a file explorer choose the file you wish to try *DO NOT FLASH*
2. Move your stock/current mixer_paths.xml from /system/etc to any location on your sd card.
3. Copy mixer_paths.xml to /system/etc and set correct permission rw-r-r a.k.a. 0644
Like this:
XX0
X00
X00
4. Reboot
5. Turn down your volume before using and increase slowly to test safely.
*I based the loud volume levels on the loud volume level mod from tweaked rom thanks @dwitherell*

The loud separated one. I would prefer it be full Volume and then controlled by the volume rockers.
As for the rest of them, I dunno. Don't have time to edit them all to check differences, but if the op in the original thread wants to then by all means.

Oh NO....... Don't flash this. The file is just zipped. Unzip the file, and move to a temp folder on phone. You will need a root file browser like ES Explorer or Root explorer. Find your original file in the Root folder /etc/mixer_paths.xml and copy that over to a safe place as a backup. Then copy the modded file to the same folder above and then change the permissions so that they are the same as the other files in the folder. After all that, reboot and it will work.
I could create a flashable file, but I would hate to see someone not backup the original file and not be able to go back to original. So this process above is not that hard and kinda reminds you to make a backup of the xml file first. Good luck.

I don't have any issue with distortion on my Note 3 with my version in use. Not sure what would be causing that, except maybe a bum speaker.
Speaker is fine.
Could be the tune I was playing though.

Hey guys, just sharing amplified system sounds files.
There are two variants 200% and 300%.
Just flash via recovery.
I've replaced the older xperia ringtone with the new one from xperia x.
I haven't amplified the camera sounds, also sony removed the option of muting the camera sounds from settings so I've muted the camera click sound, other camera sounds will not get affected.
You can either replace all the sound files by flashing the zip file or manually replace individual files using any file manager with root access and changing the permissions to rw-r--r--
Also providing the stock sound files if you want to revert to the originals.
