Hello, I was wondering is OTG supported for my HTC Vivid AT&T smart phone? It's rooted, and any information you could give me about enabling OTG on the device would really be helpful, thank you for your time! Ps I took a look around and I can't find any information in the forms about this.

I know that USB Host is a Honeycomb feature, but it seems that Samsung has somehow ported it to Gingerbread for the GS2. Does anyone know if any of the Sensation ROMs will ever be able to support USB host?
Btw, this is taken from the DSLR Controller post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16497326&postcount=257), but the package we would need is android.hardware.usb.host.
I'm interested in getting USB Host mode too for that very purpose. Hope it happens soon.
Hello,
any progres with USB host on HTC sensation?
I probably must kill my self becouse i bought sensationg betwean Samsung S2 with default USB support
Stupid nokia N8 support usb HOST....
I try google some posibilites but i didnt find anything
Thx alot Martin
If the t-mobile version of the galaxy s2(aka Hercules) can do it, then we should for we share the same class of SoC(the MSM8260 vs the APQ8060), the only difference being the APQ is without a Qualcom modem. Also they both support USB OTG according to the Qualcomm specs for the Gen 3 Snapdragons. Now we just need someone to port it over.
I found arcticle when Somebody aply usb host support tu HTC DHD
Included:
new kernel
2 new modules
and probably some new "software" for using it.
Could someone be interested in developing the usb host features?? If I had the technical competences, I would develop it...but I don't know how to do it!!
If someone it's interested in it, I could donate something
Thank you
would be very nice to have such option. just perfect to copy something from one's flash stick.
When i had xperia neo, a person(a gr8 person) ported the modules into xperia 2011 series- Doomlord
Some developer should contact him

this would be of interest to me, I'm guessing we just need one or two kernel modules, and an app to load/unload them
i'm intrested too, is there news ?
USB Host mode would actually the one feature missing to make ICS perfect
I am very interested in this feature too, but can't find any solutions :/
And there is any progress? The USB Host Diagnostics v1.2 says me only NO
works on ICS?

OTG USB on HTC MAGIC
I found this (Sorry i cannot post a link so you have to search for >> USB Host Mode on HTC Dream << on Blogspot) It is a step by step howto recompile a kernel with USB Host Support. Iwill try it on my old G1. But first I need a adapter or better a schematic for diy, so i can test if it works.
Greetings Hubert
tried today bricked kernel, which is supposed to have usb host... usb host diagnostics said no... and the device wasnt recognised...
Yesterday i got a USB cable with OTG.
Is this cable will be good?
http://allegro.pl/kabel-usb-micro-b-usb-2-0-katowy-90st-otg-i2151082743.html
------
The cable does not work at all. I can not even install the program USB Host Controller (e.g.). I ask because in HD2 had to connect the external power supply.

the cable itself is ok, but since we don't have otg working yet it won't work. If we ever get otg working i don't know if you have to power every device, a lot of devices will need power like external hdd's.
google nexus one & desire
Hey guys,
wasn't there news that ICS would have quite a few usb drives implemented.
Anyway, I know there was a big fuss about usb host mode in the google nexus one section and since they were one of the first to get ics working, maybe somebody from there could help out. Like from the top of my head leedroid, or somebody like him.
Can't post any links sorry.

You will need an MHL adapter such as this one sold by T-Mobile. Pretty much plug-n-play.
Thank you!
I bought on from eBay $8 and it works ok. But HTC one is a lot better and reliable

Hi,
Does anyone know if the HTC One S is ANT+ enabled?
I have contacted HTC support but as yet I have not had a reply.
Many thanks as always.
I'm also interested. Still no answer from HTC?
I doubt it is ANT+ compatible but I would be very interested to have that feature.
Looking at the specs for the One S, I don't see anything that says it has an ANT chip, so I would say no.
After searching a lot I think than HTC One S isn't compatible with Ant+ but is compatible with bluetooth smart with a 4.3 Android ROM.
Hi!
I am currently looking for Android devices that have working HDMI output - a dedicated one, no MHL adapter.
Is there a list of devices which have both CyanogenMod support and a working HDMI port? As of now I think the only devices that have a working HDMI port are the Motorola Atrix 4G (which is discontinued), the HTC Evo 4G (only Sprint, not international) and the LG Optimus 2x (maybe).
Right now I am trying to get HDMI running on the Xperia neo, which should also enable HDMI on the Xperia neo V, Xperia Pro, Xperia Arc and maybe more, but I could use help here because I am stuck on the binary drivers (gralloc, overlay, surfaceflinger etc.).
To sum up: Is there a list with HDMI-supported devices available? And is anybody working on HDMI support for other devices? I'd like to exchange knowledge and to dig in deep.
Thanks in advance & kind regards
Marc

It will be hard to find any serious efforts towards existing devices, mainly because Motorola was the forerunner of that technology and most of those devices have locked proprietary sources.. Xoom wifi has been unlocked for ages and very little hdmi functionality- you'd have to build your own source from scratch to effectively incorporate the hdmi into the user experience (ie webtop RIP)
The Motorola Triumph has one. Though the hardware is getting old on that device.

Yeah - and it's US only and CDMA. So no option for me. :-/
Aldi (Bauhn) tablets have HDMI port and a switching app.
Has there been official confirmation if either of these will be available? The official forums didn't yield much. I can see where Miracast is in, but I use MHL all the time with my AppRadio, so this is important t me
No MHL or Slimport on this phone, sadly something had to be sacrificed for such a good price, i hope Roku will implement miracast soon to be able to view my phone on the TV with out buying any extra dongle.
According to Phone Arena, there /is/ apparently MHL. See here http://www.phonearena.com/phones/OnePlus-One_id8603
Edit: there isn't
On the official forum someone mentioned that the spec sheets for the Oppo Find 7 show mhl but it actually doesn't have it and apparently the One plus one shares some parts with the Find 7 so its possible it doesn't have it

It is not possible to enable this? Or it is missing hardware?

I created a ticket asking this exact question. The answer from the OnePlus support:
Ivan*(OnePlus)
Hi xxxxxx,
Unfortunately, the phone doesn't support MHL, but you can try with Chromecast to mirror the screen to TV. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Ivan
I am asking myself, is that missing hardware or just missing software? If it's software it should be possible to add it, no?

No , there is no MHL on the OPO. I bought myself a MHL monitor and it's gone to waste. Time to look for a chromecast dongle.
