is there anyone who has tried all these roms?
I need some recommendations cant figure out which one is stable and bugs in each build..
This will help lot of ppl in choosing the right rom for their use!
Flinny CM11 Alpha 3 (dalvik)
I am using Flinny's CM11 Alpha 3 all the time for daily use and it is working very smooth and without any problems !
Some people have ring tone problems but there is a fix (audio_policy.default.so) !
Battery time is same as with CM 10, perhaps even better.
I tried all 3.But all have same FC com.android.phone on registering network. Found that this happens only when switching from 3G to 2G.In 3G was working great but I restored 10.2.
Also tried but have problems with android.media.process has stopped keeps repeating... otherwise seems to look promising. No phone process FC for me...
Last time I tried any AOSP ROM with kernel >3.0.16 my battery ran out noticably faster (16 hours as opposed to 2 days) than on a Sense ROM.
Flinny's build 10.2 is quite fine with the battery drain... not as good as sense rom but given the upside in system as such I think it's worth trying (for me over one day)...
I'm using devil-kin cm10.2 and it's working great.About CM11 from what I see everyone with HBOOT 7.00.1002 and radio 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110 don't have problem with FC com.android.phone.My phone is S-ON so I can't try to change hboot and radio. Can't get old RUU on my phone back to do revolutionary S-OFF bc my hboot is 2.00.0002 .
I have that combination of hboot and radio, and I don't have any fc on cm11. It seems to be more region /carrier specific though.
Btw, you can use misc_version to change the reported software version on your phone, then you can flash an older RUU.
Edit: or do you mean you can't get the correct ruu anywhere? Maybe I misunderstood
I downgraded my hboot by installing RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed and revolutionary S-OFF.Flashed recorvery 4ext touch 1.0.0.6 RC1 and flashed Unofficial "Nightly" CM11.0 [20140228] by devil-kin and everything works. No FC com.android.phone.I can select 2G or 3G without problem.I will try tomorrow to change hboot to 7.00.1002 and radio to 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110 but for now CM11 works without problems.
So now question is who make FC com.android.phone HBOOT or radio.I vote for radio.
Update: After reboot got FC com.android.phone.Switched to 3G and reboot and works good.Tomorrow will try new hboot and radio.
Flashed hboot to 7.00.1002 and radio to 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110 and restored CM11 by devil-kin.Everything goes without problems but then I found 1 new and 1 old error :
1. new one: in got 3G and 2G when I call my number voicemail answer telling I'm unavailable and when I hangup msg come in next 10 sec that I have voicemail from that number that called.Second call goes normal and ring.If I wait some time (i waited 10+min) and call again same thing happen.
2.old error: when I switch from 3G to 2G I get new error(1.new one) and if I reboot phone upon registering network get FC com.android.phone.Switching back in 3G is hard ( have to click 5 or more times) but when back it works fine just new error make problem.
I restored 10.2 by devil-kin and all problems gone (new and old).:crying:
So what we can see there hboot and radio didn't do anything with FC com.android.phone and new error Unavailable.
What can be problem? Maybe old simcard (2001 or before I didn't change my number long time (maybe I really need new simcard)) or something with CM11 on Desire S.
My new vote is old simcard.Very old
(reason for my vote: what you can read above and information that just some phones are affected with FC com.android.phone).
Sorry for bad english.
It's definitely not the simcard i have 12 year old, latest hboot, radio, and only time when i got com.android.phone was when i forgot to flash boot.img after changing rom from devil-kin CM11 to Flinny's

Hi all,
A week ago I bought a brand new Desire S and installed latest CM 7.1 stable following the guide on cyanogemod Desire S Wiki using revolutionary 0.4pre4. Everything was smooth and nice, I flashed ROM and GAPPS and my phone is working absolutely perfectly... but there is one little problem...
I am using Desire to fetch my mails from 2 mailservers using IMAP every 30 mins. But when the phone is switching between network modes i.e. HSDPA -> EDGE or EDGE -> GSM or any other way, I am disconnected from operator network for about 10 seconds until the network mode changes and everything is fine after that, until there is another network mode switch.
This happens for me about 10 times a day, so my phone sometimes appears that It is turned off for people who want to call me. Immediately after connecting to network I get a missed call SMS from my operator.
Interesting thing is, that when I disable email fetching, disable background data transfer and disable network data, the phone works fine without "blackouts".
Can someone help me with this problem? Maybe a radio issue?
Some more info:
ROM: Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 Desire S
Recovery: Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4
HBOOT: 6.98.1002
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod+ [email protected] #1
Radio: 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
There is a newer radio-file online.
Maybe it's solving your problem.
I'm using MIUI and never had such problems, but i'm interested in flashing CM, so please report if the problem is gone by flashing newer radio!
Which radio version are you using?
Today I am testing 2G only switch so I am on EDGE data only.
Flashing radios is safe......, but a bad radio flash will instantly brick your phone.
You are using 1.47.401.4 radio, try updating to the 2.10.401.5 one.
Thanks for reply.
Shoud I flash something else with the radio?
I have 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 downloaded from cmw.22aaf3.com
Another I have is ftom OTA update zip file OTA_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8-1.47.401.4_release_225210fmxlt12djw1sr7y5.zip where is one radio.img in formware.zip file too - version unknown
So Which one to flash?
and if so, which method should I use to flash radio? The Android SDK one or the ZIP + Bootloader one?

Both will work, i'm using method by using bootloader normaly
Strangely I had the same issues as you on Endymion.
Then I updated radio to the latest.
It worked well.
Then I went to CM7. It was fine for a while, but now I'm losing signal with no 3G bars and its not switching automatically to 2G like it should when It has no 3G signal!
EDIT:
After really reading your post, I realise my issue is no way like yours! Yours seems really bad. Update your radio.

in your telephone-info there is shown the new radio after every flash?
do you have removed the batterycover, because there is integrated the antenna of your device!

No, the cover is at its place where it should be. Somehow I did the trick and I am back online with 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03 on 2G only for now.
I read somwhere in the forum that ENG HBOOT is required for new radios... Are you sure I dont need to flash eng hboot it before new radio ??

in your area 3g is actually available?
may it helps to go outside, to find your net for the first time!
did you set an accesspoint for 3g?
may you have to set automatic settings, rather than 3g/2g-only?!

using same hboot as you, never had problems on flashing radio-files!
yes, in my area there is 3g, when I turn off 2g only switch there is a problem described in my first post, so i am on 2g for now just to keep phone connected to network.
main problem is when i am driving and the phone is switching network modes.
so I give 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 today another chance, try to flash if again.
but i am woried about stucking on HTC logo after flash :-( and brick it.

i already had the problem for several times, and i also pulled out the battery (you shouldn't do that)!
only had to boot into bootloader, start recovery, wipe all partitions, flash rom and was having fun again with my device
this thread could help you, if really stuck on HTC logo
For your real problem on loosing the signal, did you ever tried out using actual stock rom, or another custom one like MIUI?
i used MIUI from 2010-08 till yesterday, now trying out CM7.1 for some days
I have the same or a very similar problem. I have the stock rom.
I already had 3 different desire s motherboard's and 2 different display's.
The first Desire S i had, with android 2.3.3, had a excellent signal. Due some problems i had, the phone bricked and had to go to HTC to repair.
HTC replaced the motherboard and update the version of the android to 2.3.5 and ever since the signal caption, the signal switch was working very bad.
The phone went to a second repair because of this, new phone, and again with android 2.3.5. The problems persisted.
I also tested with different SIM cards, from different mobile operators.
So, my conclusion is either android 2.3.5 or this new versions of Desire S have problems with signal caption and signal switch.
So as you, i need some help with this issue!

But when I reboot to recovery it will flash the radio again I think.
i hate stock roms, and dont like MIUI design That is why I am using Cyanogen
Anyway if I use 2G only switch, the phone is stable as rock both calls and data transfer.
EDIT: OK, flashed 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 sucessfully, signal OK, I will see what happens whet metwork mode switches

give us more information about your device please, which radio you're using? Did they flash actual radion also?
@MyroLM:

I am still testing new radio, but looks good Give me some days let you know...
Hi All,
I have a similar problem with the latest CM7.1 nightly builds (Reaper, jorgen2009). I never saw this with older CM7.1 versions, e.g. Nexx version, ICS, MIUI oder Endymion.
I have WLAN on and leave my house. Phone switches to 2G/3G..., so far so good. When I return home, The WLan sign in the status bar appears again, everything seems to be fine, but I have no connection. I get no data via WLan until I swicth WLan off and on again.
Radio is the latest from 2.10.401.5.
Best Regards
Wrapp
Had similar problems, upgrading to the latest radio helped. I got stuck on the HTC screen and I went through flashing RUU's and unlocking bootloaders back and forth... when the only thing that needs to be done is to wipe the cache.
Learned a lot about bootloaders though. But my warranty got void because i did the htcdev unlock... (Sorry for OT)

I hvnt s off 'ed my wf but hv rooted it successfully..I'd like to know if s off is needed for radio flash...pl help me
How should I s-off my rooted wf??
Hello, i solved this issue.. I was on the radio 3.35.20.10 which is the newest. I flashed the latest rc1 cm7.2. Yes (3g and H) mobile network works flawlessly.. changing a few type of internet build prop values of cm7.2 will lead to rebooting when turning on mobile data
I won't be of any help but I have the same problem: I can't remember when I have noticed it the first time - my Wildfire keeps on rebooting if I switch to 3G.
Initially I thought that one of the different modes (2g/3g only, 2g or 3g etc.) would cause the problem but I have tried everything without any success.
If I find the time I'll probably try a newer nightly to see if this will help.
AFAIK I'm on the newest radio (flashed it a while back due to the well known radio problem).
Anyone with a helpful hint?

Hm, I'm not sure about your solution - could you be a bit more specific? I've already done a lot of things to get rid of the problem - including flashing newer versions of CM7 - currently I'm on the 20120420 nightly. Release date for the newest RC1 is 20120314 if I'm correct - so it looks that this didn't solve my problem.
Furthermore I flashed the radio again (inspired by this thread) - without any help regarding the bootloops. I'm really close to do an RUU update - but I usually rely on good old traditional computer wisdom: "never change a running system" XD
If someone with a bit more understanding of the changes in build.prop could give hints what (which values) exactly could be the reason for the problem this would be really helpful.
Recently updated to the CM10.1 build from July 2.
Haven't had 4G radio since, and most of the time I can't even connect to the mobile network.
I saw this error in logcat. Wandering if anyone knows what it means.
Code:
07-08 22:41:12.282: W/PackageManager(475): Unknown permission android.permission.ACCESS_4G_RADIO_DISABLE in package com.android.systemui
I updated from a previous CyanogenMOD. I am not S-OFF. So, I fastboot flashed the boot image after flashing the ROM in TWRP 2.5.5. Below are the step by step instructions to what I did.
Installed latest GApps and CM10.1 on phones memory
rebooted phone into TWRP 2.5.5
Flashed CM10.1 and GApps
rebooted into fastboot
ran:
Code:
fastboot flash boot cm10.1/boot.img
Any suggestions on what I can do?

different radio?
I saw this thread on different radios, but it reads that they only work for HBoot less than1.13. BTW, I'm still S-ON. I applied the T-Mobile OTA update.
UPDATE: I'm an idiot! Didn't realize the "Temporary" ones would work for CM10.1 with HBoot 2.15. Downloading and trying.
UPDATE AFTER FLASHING NEW RADIOS:
Nothing has changed. It'll flash H+ then quickly go back to 3G. But I'm still having difficulty in even connecting to google.com. I keep getting timeouts.
The update from July 15 fixed my issue.
Or maybe it was the fact that I wiped 3 times

Were you able to install a different radio OR is it that you no longer have issues with your radio after the update?

Even installing the new radios didn't help. The July 15 build had marginally better radio signal (i.e. I was able to stay on 3G most of the time) For some reason, I almost never got 4G.
I think it's more a problem in CM10.1. I've noticed a lot of people in the dev thread saying they either get intermittent service or no service at all.
I've since gone back to the stock sense ROM (removing all of HTC and T-Mobile's bloatware). Which is sad. I really liked CM10. But I was having a lot of problems. The wireless radio not working as actually one of the lesser problems. In the July 17 build Wi-Fi stopped working and I couldn't use a handsfree set (people couldn't hear me talk) and battery life went down to 10-12 hours
Is anyone familiar with whether or not one can flash a new radio on the HBOOT 2.15.000? I believe the one it comes with is giving me trouble on the T-Mobile network (data drops randomly). I've tried CM10.1 with the 3.4 Kernel, Illusion Rom and PACMAN rom and none of which seem to get a stable connection with the radio-1.13.50.05.31_10.50.08L. Additionally, I can't edit the build.prop file as it's COMPLETELY different than the previous ones. Suggestions?
I've attempted to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255906&highlight=radio the radio found there via fastboot and received an error:
C:\Users\TE\Downloads\BehradGH_HBoot_2.15.0000_TWRP_Recovery (1)\fastboot>fastb
ot flash zip radio.zip
sending 'zip' (19455 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.160s]
writing 'zip'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 2.194s
I then attempted to flash via recovery and it goes through successfully however, nothing changes, it's still the same radio once I reboot. I've even tried the AROMA Installer for ALL HBoot and that doesn't work either. I've tried install higher radios and lower radios and none hold true once the phone boots. Should I try a different ROM? If so which do "you" suggest? Am I missing something prior to installation that I'm doing wrong?

we dont have a enginering hboot so forget it using fastboot.
use the temp or sense installers in the dev section.
As I said, I tried the AROMA installer from that post (which is the temp installer you are referring to) via recovery and it still didn't work.
I'll try a sense installer and a sense rom later. Thank you.

It will only change the radio version shown under settings-about phone. It will not change it on the bootloader screen. Only the sense installer will do that, but you must have soff. The temp install will also work for sense in the same way.
The signal issue is also a known problem for the new 3.4 kernel aosp roms

It doesn't even change it in about phone section.
So, what you're saying is that if I change the kernel I could potentially solve the erratic behavior of the radio?
I'm not sure if you were linking DarkSense hinting that I should try that or if it's just your signature but I'll get it anyways. Thank you. I'll try your suggestions after work.
I had the same problem, couldn't flash radio, i flashed 3.16.401 through cwm and then flashed ruu 3.16.401 which changed the radio, couldn't flash ruu before because i had higher version than 3.16.401 orange uk branded and had problem with signal once a day i got emergency call only, now i'm with 3.16.401 and no problems whatsoever, stock runs nice on one s till cm gets stable
I struggled with the radio flashing for 2 days having bootloader unlocked and s-off, ****ty branded network

It's my sig. I do the theme work on plus tweaks and other stuff.
You can't just change the kernel on a room that uses a 3.4 kernel, you would either need to switch to a sense room or an older asop style ROM.

Hello all on my first post.
Background:
Long story short, screwed up my phone a little while back, recovered with: RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_TMOUS_2.35.531.7_Radio_1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L_release_279577_signed
Everything peachy after that, then a couple of days after I got a hold of:
RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_TMOUS_3.14.531.17_Radio_1.13.50.05.31_10.30.50.08L_release_320836_ICS_2_JB
Then the problems started, every ROM I tried, the connection dropped and had to restart the phone. Tried to Facepalm, Moonshine, Super CID 11111111, nothing. Spent hours reading and thinking how I could get around this, I can't S-Off, so I can't change the radio and use a regular ROM like CM or BlackBean, not that I'm not grateful, just Sense is not really my thing. Tried BlackBean 9 with kernel 3.4 and didn't worked.
Any ROM that is not Sense based would not keep the signal for internet, unless rebooted.
So my question is: once you have HBOOT 2.15.0000 and Radio 1.13.50.05.31 you are screwed, did anyone in the same situation got S-Off or got it to work some how?
I did make a mission to check the forums for the methods I mentioned for the past 3 months, weekly if not daily.
The phone had originally:
HBOOT-1.14.0005
RADIO-1.11t.50.02.22
OpenDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
Nov 21 2012, 12:17:41
But couldn't find the RUU with that radio, so used the one with 1.08ts.
Thanks in advance.

OpenDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot

But couldn't find the RUU with that radio, so used the one with 1.08ts.
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Tried Unknown, DarkSense, TrickDroid and SourcE connection is all good. AOSP [regular] ROMs need to reboot the phone, reload APN settings or get in and out of Airport mode, then it works for a while then drops the signal.
I forgot if incoming or outgoing calls work or not on regular ROMs.

Try the 4.2 ROMs. Data drops have been removed.

Installed ville_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v23.0.0_20130716-224253 last night, in the morning, tried to see a few pages, same shtick, no data connection. But remembered to test the phone and it connected to voice mail.
Hmmm.
Tried Odyssey 2.50 for about 10 hours, no problems. But didn't installed my usual apps, just kept checking on the data to see if it dropped, all good. Then got a hold of Odyssey 2.70 actually put all my apps in, configure the interface and such, nothing fancy.
Then I tried to use the data, nothing, but not even tried to load the pages, I found it strange, because before it was usually after a few hours that the data started to act up with the other ROMs I tried. Then it occurred to me, why not try deactivating DroidWall 1.5.7, BINGO!
Data did dropped at times but it came back up, and loaded the page, I guess it was because a data cap, I'm just guessing. But if it makes it the whole day without giving problems, that was probably the culprit:victory:

Hey the problem is the rom! it just has the meta it need the system file without it it will fail. also you need recorvery clock work mod or twrp without then it is a fail but find a better rom first
I got the same problem. Ran the JB_TMOUS RUU and lost my phone signal. I tried newest CM rom (4.4.2) but it didn't help. Tried flashing temporary radio V4, and it made no difference. How do I get my phone service back?

Now, I am in the same s*** position as you. Did you solve the problem? If you did please, explain how did you solve it.
"cough" A bit late, but just for future reference for anyone that might find themselves with the same problem.
Get a hold of rumrunner to S-Off, thats the only method that I've tried that worked, also if you can't find rumrunner, get a Sense ROM to keep you using the phone.
I gave up after a long wait for a reliable S-Off method, so my phone was stored for about a year been using my old Sensation 4G.
And just to put it out there, always check, double check and triple check before you do anything, if you are impatient at the moment, go out for a smoke, get some gum, drink a beer, whatever you need to do to relax a bit, and then go back to the task, I know is not surgery but it felt like that at times.:silly:

So my wifi doesn't work.
Everytime I try to put it on, it switches off almost immediately . Sometimes I am not even able to switch it on at all. (the switch button becomes grey).
I got this phone from a friend of mine a year ago. The wifi wasn't working either back then (but I believe it had worked at some point in the beginning). When I got the phone it still had the stock rom. Then I flashed some custom roms, mostly CM (gingerbread, ICS). That didn't do any good for my wifi. So I downgraded my hboot and s-offed my phone. Also flashed a new radio, but that didn't help either.
I am slowly beginning to think that it's a hardware issue. But today, ever since a year, my wifi turned on and I was connected for 10 minutes! Then I rebooted my phone to see if it would work again, but unfortunately it didn't.
I read something about flashing a new kernel to fix your wifi, could that do the trick?
Also I read a lot about doing clean rom installs to fix your wifi (so wipe all partitions etc), tried that, didn't work.
Info about my phone:
Android 4.2.2
CyanogenMod 10.1 -20130808 -unofficial-saga
kernel version: 3.0.84-g0263617
radio (baseband version): 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_m
Hboot:
saga put ship s-off RL
hboot 6.98.1002
radio: 3822.10.08.04_m
I hope there are some things I have overlooked, because it would be so great if wifi could be fixed.
Thanks in advance!
flash the latest kernel by flinny, it should resolve the wifi issue,
Clean install is preferred when u change ROMS.

Just to clear things up. Do you mean the andromadus kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097379
edit:
I've flashed the andromadus kernel by kylon. Kernel version 3.0.101. Wifi still isn't working.
I can't find the kernel by flinny. Do you have a link?
