Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update schedule – it's arriving in early 2012. The first devices to receive the ICS update are Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray. Other Sony Ericsson devices such as the original Arc, the Xperia Play, original Neo and the Xperia Mini and Mini Pro duo - plus the Xperia Active and Live with Walkman are also slated to get the ICS update by March/April 2012.

If you don't want to wait for the official release you can also try:

or DooMLoRDs Sony Ericsson ICS Alpha

Both are only in the Alpha stage and have different bugs / issues. Read through the threads to see which would suit you more or wait and look for updates / and official release.
Hi, I only wanted to know if someone here is wanting to build a SE Android ROM for the Nexus S. I think that it would be kinda cool to have a Nexus S with enhanced security ! I'm not telling anyone to do it, I ONLY want to know if someone is interesfed in building it.
Already started. As a base, the developers are using an xperia arc ICS leaked beta.
You can follow the process for i9023 here:

* I searched this on XDA and on Google. There are many ports of OTHER APPS but not these two. Also, most 'ports' that I found of Xperia apps in general were for other Xperia phones which will therefore not work on other ROMs*
Has anyone seen these for any ROM? I would prefer the beautiful Jelly Bean version on the Xperia Z but I would happily use any version. I'm using a JB ROM atm.
Many thanks for any help.

I'm a bit interested by this as well. Could you just take the mms.apk from the sony rom and overwright the one in CM? Maybe it needs the framework...(which, if you run the mods that make the phone practically an xperia, would it have enough of the framework i wonder? i havent messed with it yet, probably will this weekend)
Hi buddy.
I have tried installing the Jelly Bean version from different Sony ROMs. None of them worked. I tried normal install and putting them in system/app with various permissions. I'm not even sure which permissions to use for this, but I think I have tried all of them.
There are some Sony apps that you can 'normal install'. I wonder how the devs do that exactly. Maybe they disconnect some dependencies on framework or something.
If you are interested in other Sony apps, there are a bunch of them here until we get Phonebook/SMS:

*Bump*
Anyone? I've searched and searched but no luck yet.
Hii, sorry i searched for a thread like this but didn't found one, so if there is a thread already existing like this i apologize for that_
I wanted to ask that has sony abandoned xperia l? so many days but still no news for an android 4.3 update, let alone 4.4_
No stable aosp roms like cyanogen or aokp.. Will it stay like this or what? Does somebody have any news?
My previous phone was samsung galaxy y, which is a low end phone but it has a hell lot of roms and even when the device is discontinued the roms are still developing_i think xperia l has potential.. Can't it support roms like cyanogen (official stable version) ? Hell even xperia m got one, which has only 4gb of internal_
If somebody have any kind of news please reply.. m sick and tired of checking the updates daily_

Xperia L Future?
Hi
I feel the same for the Xperia L, Sony hasn't given an update schedule for it, there are is no news/rumour on either 4.3 or 4.4 for the Xperia L furthermore although we are backed by official CM support the maintainer is a bit quiet in terms of progress, what makes it worse is that the phone is not that popular especially with the SP overshadowing it.
With my previous phones (Xperia X10 mini pro, Xperia X8 & Live with Walkman) the XDA forums were so full of ROMs/mods/everything you would want-they only got better for me. But with the Xperia L it all feels dead - I reckon mostly because of Sony's lack of info on updates-no one wants a phone that has no good update outlook.
I hope that Sony will update our beloved Xperia L to a stable Kit-Kat, not asking for anymore-the phone does deserve it, beautiful hardware at a nice price.
Yea

I too owned Samsung Galaxy Y. It was a very low end device but had many developments. I bought XL due to cost/performance ratio was good. Unfortunately there is so slow development
Sony has no reason to update our phone since it's a mid-range device. That's why we didn't get 4.3 or 4.4.

Yeah I don't think we're gonna be getting anymore updates.
There will be one more major update to our phone.. Mark my words!!
If what I hear is correct, we should get a working CM11 by the end of this week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I don't think Sony has abandoned the Xperia L just yet, honestly.
Perhaps they'll release 4.3/4.4.2 for it someday, but be honest: most people buy the flagship models with their contracts (Z, Z Ultra, Z1, Z2) so they prioritize those.
Yeah we get a very nice performance phone at a cheap price but at the cost of slow development
I checked the list of devices which sony has confirmed won't be getting any updates anymore_xperia l isn't in the list..
But it occurs to me that xperia sp and xperia m were launched with xperia l (xperia m a little after i think) but the phones have received major updates_this thought troubles me..
But we can't do nothing.. we just have to be hopeful and wait for the updates i think
Unless some superhero makes the aosp version stable for us_

well, there's no official statement from sony about dropping the support for xperia L and it's still within the 18 months cycle. So, who knows?:fingers-crossed:
can only speculate whether there will be another update or not, but it's just speculations, so . . .
no one but sony can answer "has sony abandoned xperia l?"
other roms like cm, aokp, etc has nothing to do with sony, it depends on the community :victory:
the official cm is currently in "coming soon" section in fxp :victory:
sony had supported the open resource project by giving the kitkat aosp for xperia L i guess..
eventhough it's not good enough for daily use :crying:
btw i check the updates of the development daily too
well, since there's ptcrb updates on xperia M and it's still within 18 months policy
finger crossed

Hello all,
I have a sony ericsson xperia neo v (mt11i) which is currently running FlexOS 5.1.1 lollipop. My experience from this rom isn't bad but it isn't extremely good either so I was wondering if anyone here knew what the best lollipop themed custom rom is for my device. I have taken a look at OwnROM but i haven't flashed it because I am new to the world of custom roms and I don't feel comfortable with flashing things regularly. Aside from these two roms I haven't been able to find any other lollipop themed roms. Can somebody please tell me if there are other roms and also which one is better. keep in mind that I play a lot of games so I would prefer something fast. I would appreciate any responses,
Thank You

the problem with flex is it is very out of date because the flex team stopped building for all devices some time ago, i know because i used to build for them.
i cant speak for the other rom you mentioned, but whatever is available will be here. you will just have to try them and see which one you like, because there is no best rom. everyone thinks whatever one they like is the best, so whatever response you get to that question is mostly useless, other than the one i provided.
