Hi, I only wanted to know if someone here is wanting to build a SE Android ROM for the Nexus S. I think that it would be kinda cool to have a Nexus S with enhanced security ! I'm not telling anyone to do it, I ONLY want to know if someone is interesfed in building it.
Already started. As a base, the developers are using an xperia arc ICS leaked beta.
You can follow the process for i9023 here:

There's a lot. This link should help to point you in the right direction.
I'd recommended upgrading to the latest 2.1 first, root it with the software in the X10 forum, and then you can install xrecovery and have your pick of rom you would like to run. most of them still have issues with camera but there are a couple that are based on 2.1 that have everything working well. I think dualtouch (came out yesterday) has been incorporated, if not, there are a couple tutotorials to get dualtouch on your os.
Hello friends,
since i've bought my Desire S, i'm playing with CustomRoms and like to try new one's. So i'm not totaly unknown in this section. I know that we need the new Kernel 3 for get ICS working in our device. But yesterday got my wife her new phone, a Sony Xperia Ray (which is realy great, btw!). I've updated via SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) to official Android 4.0 and saw, that this phone still use the 2.x Kernel, instead of 3.x! I'm just wondering about that and i'm a bit confused. Can anyone explain?
The second one is about compiling / creating a own kernel. I've saw in Desire Section, that they try to create a costum 3.x Kernel. And for Samsung S1, they are finished to create them and got many ICS Roms working. So, is it so much hard to create / compile a 3.x Kernel for our Device? Is it possiple to compile a Kernel from Kernel Source Code: http://www.kernel.org/ ??
Best greetings.

I'm not sure as to why the current devices with factory ICS or updates to it have kernel 2.6 (because I had the chance of playing with a one x and it had kernel 2.6) but the samsung galaxy s devs could make the kernel work because the exynos processor ( or as it was called back then hummingbird) is open source, unlike the snapdragon in our desire s. Also the original desire also had a snapdragon processor, which unless htc released the source, makes it almost impossible to make a custom3.0 kernel. We have kernel 3.0 on the DS because it was leaked and apparently it cannot be modified to work with vanilla ROM's(it only works with sense). So, I hope I cleared your misunderstandings as best as I could
Hi everyone,
Yesterday i heard that Htc One pure Android phone went on sale in US. I like the looks of pure android phone. Is there a way to make my HTC One S look like a Pure android phone???? Is there a ROM or any Theme to do so? Thanks in advance

There are no Sense based ROMs that will give a true stock Android look and feel across the whole system - you could always change the launcher but that only gets you part of the way there. Why not go with CyanogenMod 10.1 though? Especially worthwhile now we are back on nightlies with the 3.4 kernel.
The thread for this is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799139
This is assuming you have the S4 (1.5ghz) model.

i think almost any aosp based rom here will give you an improved/better stock android experience over that `stock`rom.
Hi all
how can i Upgrade Android 2.3.5 to android 4.0.
I have sought for solution but to no avail. If there is a side effect, i would like to know cos i figured its better to have it as it is than upgrade and have multiple issues.
this question might be commonplace but i do really need to know.
thanks
The 4.0 ruu was only released as a research and development release, it is buggy.
I would recommend installing a custom rom instead. (see the guides in this forum)
Yeah I agree its really not at all what its cracked up to be I regret ever downloading it
Sent from HTC desire S Android 4.0.4
I started installing 4.0.4 more than 20minutes ago whereas it should have taken about 10 minutes. I'm afraid waiting won't help. What do you suggest to recover from the situation? I don't want to have my htc bricked..
Did anything pop up on the screen during installation

DON'T go to 4.0 ROMs whatsoever. Stay with 2.3 or jump right to 4.2+ ROMs. My experience.
Hello there, i've just bought a Xperia XA and i'm really appreciating it. The only lack that i found is the fact that the dev community is almost empty.
I don't like SONY system at all, i'm coming from a Nexus and i'd like to install a pure android rom. Is there a way to do it? And, another question: i've read few threads about TWRP, why installing a custom recovery if there isn't any rom available? Thanks a lot

The xa isn't part of the open devices programme being a mediatek powered xperia so there is no aosp/aosp based roms, I think Sony's Android skin is the best available far nicer than stock nexus.
Why wouldn't you want a custom recovery like twrp if you only have a rooted device the two to hand in hand in my eyes whether it's stock based or a custom rom..

Hi, you right there is no dev here I'm trying to make a correct "device tree" and "vendor tree" sources to make some rom, it's hard for me because I'm not a dev and I'm working alone.
TWRP is for rooting the device
It may be a cold shower for you if you come from a Nexus lol.
