What about governors like smartass and ondemandX? Also take a look in that vengeance kernel
1.1ghz or 1.2 ghz is enough.... In 1.3ghz normal messing around causes heating... (a good governor could fix it maybe)

OK, but I guess you are supposed to upload a copy of the source of the kernel that you have built, (after modding) to GitHub or something, right?
Its easier to keep track of this project that way.

I never built it from source I extracted the elf file replaced the ramdisk and zImage from the stock kernel.sin and then compiled. I didn't build from source and I cannot get the kernel to compile if I wanted to build from source.

@wasturaka Probably won't, but you can try. Also, jjm34 had a JB dual recovery, didn't he?
@UltraGamerHD Ah... right. I was looking for the sources that @KDB223 was looking for; I already knew about this place.
However, I still like what I see; thanks for the CWM (might actually convince me to stock)!

Hi folks,
I present to you ArindamKernel-CM9.
* Lots of CPU Governors + IO Schedulers (Default: Conservative + SIO)
* CPU Frequency: 120 Mhz - 1.2 Ghz (Default: 300 Mhz - 1 Ghz)
* Enabled OMAP Power Management features (sleep_while_idle, off_mode, voltage_off_while_idle etc.)
* Backlight Fix
* Sync Bug Fix by XDA_BAM
This Kernel is for all i9003s on CM9/MIUI v4/AOKP regardless of the backlight issue and will give you better battery savings than stock CM9 kernel.
Flash using recovery. Kernel version in "About Phone" should read #6. Test and provide feedback
FOR CM7/MIUI: ArindamKernel_CM7_v7 (DO NOT USE! BUGGY! NEW VERSION COMING!)
FOR CM9/MIUI v4/AOKP: ArindamKernel-CM9-v6
NOTES:
* Flash it using CWM Recovery (Turn off Signature verification).
* Flash over a clean CM7/MIUI/CM9/AOKP.
* Please remove any backlight killer apps you might have installed.
* Please do not mirror the files.
THANKS:
* Vurrut & Dhiru for their Kernel sources.
* The i9003 devs/ex-devs and the community.
Fix Source
Hi folks,
After a lot of work (and some sleepless nights ), I'm happy to announce that the infamous backlight issue has finally been nailed.
It seems that the backlight issue was being caused due to a small issue in the ramdisk.
In the stock samsung kernels, the debugfs is also mounted on /debug in addition to /d and /sys/kernel/debug.
Adding a few lines to the init.latona.rc solves the backlight issue. Something must have been pointing to /debug to turn off the backlight, but didn't find it.
@All AOSP kernel devs, please add the following to your init.latona.rc in the respective stages:
Code:
[I][B]on early-init[/B][/I]
mkdir /debug
mount debugfs /sys/kernel/debug /sys/kernel/debug
[I][B]on fs[/B][/I]
mount debugfs debugfs /debug
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check a stock GB ramdisk for reference.
Also mounting debugfs on /debug has another advantage. If you look at the init.latona.rc you'll find :
Code:
# Enabling sleep in idle path
write /debug/pm_debug/sleep_while_idle 1
# Enabling Voltage OFF in idle path
write /debug/pm_debug/voltage_off_while_idle 1
# Enabling OFF mode
write /debug/pm_debug/enable_off_mode 1
# Enabling Smartreflex
write /debug/pm_debug/smartreflex/sr_mpu/autocomp 1
write /debug/pm_debug/smartreflex/sr_core/autocomp 1
The values were not being set earlier. Now there should be better battery life.
Long Live the i9003!!!
Good

GENERAL INFO:It's an Amarullz project, related to AROMA project.
It was simple booting menu. It shows 3 simple menu before you boot into your android environment:
* Boot Normally - Boot to Android OS normally
* Recovery - Boot to Recovery
* Bootloader - Boot to Bootloader
That's an elementar version, that who wants, can modify as he wants.
It was potentially become useful tools if we can configure it for our needed, maybe we can add menu like: zip align before boot, fix permission before boot, boot to safe mode, etc. Or maybe even dual rom boot if it possible.

No. Your modules are the same, but the versioning differ and that's why they can't work together. You have to remove the modules from ramdisk and put them into the zip. Then add some updater-script lines to install them.

If I may ask, what exactly is different in this package from @Doky73's package? Creating a new thread when we already have a stock ROM collection thread from Doky73 who regularly updates it with new FW releases is a waste of server space.

All devs are trying . Very few devs have a sound knowledge of kernel devolopment. After varun left our forum the original android devolopment section was almost dead. After that so many kernel sources were discovered, but no one to try them out. Devs are trying to port 4.2 by reverse engeneering the a116 rom. Be patent please. No hope for cm, pa, aospa, aokp withour varun working for us.
Indeed it's a shame that only Varun has threads created in the Original Android Dev section! Seem's no one else has any idea about Kernel Development..!
i know some guide to how to compile a kernel... if someone has fast internet connection should try... at least someone try if get stuck in problem we can contact some kernel devs to fix the problem

in the link you provided the sources are for motorola razr d which is a single core processor phone but our mobile has mt6577 which is a dual core..
then how come it is a source for mt6577 dev?

nope its mt6577 dual core based, check the sources correctly they are for mt6577
while searching i ffound this thread they solved almost a considerable amount of errors in the process of building kernel for mt6577 hope this helps for some devs.
