[Q] Samsung GalaxyTab 2 P5100 is stuck in boot loop - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help! My Samsung GalaxyTab 2 P5100 is stuck in boot loop and i can only turn it off when i connect it to the wall or to the computer. i never flashed or installed a "rom" or anything  ,i just left the tab on plugged to the wall that night and the internal memory was full but i delete one file of 800Mb for the tab to stop warning me that the memory was full.
I want to atleast save my files videos photos to the computer, they are all in the internal memory because i never needed an SD card. :crying:
I tried to fully charge the tab but doesn't work and when i plug the tab via usb to the computer, windows asks for this driver omap4430,
i found out about the android system recovery 3e and there's an option to Hard reset the tab "wipe data/factory reset" but i don't want to do that without saving my files first, how can i do that?
Ok, i forgot i made a backup of my files three months ago so tried to do an hard reset with the Android system recovery <3e> and it fixed the tab. :victory: i run the recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up and Power button at the same time for about 30 seconds until the (Android System Recovery) menu appeared. Then i selected with the volume up/down the Wipe data/Factory Reset option and pressed the power button. after that i selected Wipe cache partition and then selected reboot now. It's as good as new but all data (videos, pictures, everything) were erased.

I am having the same problem, but I did root mine and was about to install a rom. From what I have read, you may have to use odin and look a stock rom to be able to use it again. I'm a new guy so don't quote me, but there are post about this already.

[Q] From Cyanogen Mod to none...HELP!

Here is my situation, my phone is HTC myTouch 3g...I wanted to lessen the internal or system's space but can't find the right software to do it in Market so I played with my phone and what I did is restart chosing "Recovery". When I reached prompts and commands area I chose to wipe out battery memory (don't know what was the exact term but something like that)...so now, my battery won't charge plus when I did "Reboot Recovery", the phone won't start as if it wipes out all the system! So now, I'm hanging on for 30 minutes or so but nothing happened when I turned my phone on, it just shows HTC Magic and nothing else. I wonder how to fix this problem. My phone won't even connect to the PC via USB or even if I plug it through AC charger.
OK, so I figured out how to go to the Clock Recovery but still, it won't boot! Help!
Full Wipe
Wipe Cache
go to mounts and storage
format boot
format system
format data
go back to main menu
install .zip from SD Card
flash CM from there and reboot.
Replacing rom in HTC HD2 NAND
hi, new to this rooting stuff. Got android rom loaded on NAND of my htc hd2. This not like this rom so i want to try a new rom. My question is do i have to erase my phone or do anything to it before i flash a new rom. thanks.
Problem Solved but...
Here is what I did to the problem:
1. I downloaded Cyanogen Mod 6 for my HTC Magic to my PC. I also downloaded the Google Tiny Apps. I put both into a newly formatted SD card (must be FAT32).
2. Since I still have the ClockWorkMod I restarted my phone by pressing the home and power button. I pressed install from flash from the options and it gave me options to open and install both of Cyanogen and/or Google Apps, I did Cyanogen update first then Google Tiny Apps. Note that there will be only two options. I forgot to write down the exact path name. The path names were obvious so you'll figure it out when you get there.
3. Just wait until the install is finished, look at the prompt in the screen until it says done.
4. Then reboot it using the options, just press the back button to go back to Clock's home screen.
Then it is done and solved.
BUT!!!!!! My problem now is that the backlight option is missing so my phone has no backlight now.........somebody help with that glitch???

[Q] Can't format sdcard via recovery

So, here is the thing.
I was running on Hellybean-20130426-crespo. Been running for quite some time without any problem.
Phone runs out of battery, so, I plug it in and get stuck on "Google" screen.
After some tests, I find out that if I unplug it from charger, and turn it on, the phone boots, but while booting, it reboots, and enters this way into an infinite loop.
So, I think, I will do a factory reset. This worked, the phone booted normally, and I was re-installing my apps, but every now and the phone rebooted.
So, I think again, I will wipe the phone clean and re-install hellybean, see what's going on.
I enter recovery, and wipe cache, system, boot and then I go to sd card...
I can't format the SD card. When I check the logs later, I see I get an error message:
Photo: puu.sh/2Q9nW.jpg
I can mount the SD card, but I can't see the files on my PC.
But when I go to the "apply zip rom SD card", recovery can see the files:
Photo: puu.sh/2Q9of.jpg
Any ideas what to do next? I will probably get it to a Samsung service center tomorrow, because I'm out of ideas.

You don't need to format the SD Card for a "full wipe".
You just have to:
1. Factory Reset
2. Format System
3. Format cache
4. Format dalvik cache
5. Format Data
That really is it. Then re-flash helly bean.
If you're having funky sd card errors I would reformat my sdcard through your pc as that is the best most reliable way to do this. Then try installing what you need to.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Well, yes only problem is that the PC can't read the sdcard, so I can't save the "update.zip" into the sdcard.
As of today, I can't even mount the sdcard, so I guess my only option is Samsung service.
When I bought the phone, the camera wouldn't focus, got it replaced (the camera)
Then the vibration stop working, got it replaced as well
2 weeks ago the speaker started making distortions, got it replaced as well.
All in warranty. The phone doesn't have a scratch, I'm very careful with it.
This time I will ask them to replace the phone, or else I will burn down their store. I've had enough....
PS: all the sdcard problems started after I sent the phone to service for the speaker problem and they downgraded me from stock 4.1.2 back to 2.3.
Don't know if it has something to do with it...

I found that the only thing that worked was to reformat my sd card.
I backed it up to a pc at which stage I found that some photos were unreadable. I have a strong feeling these corrupt files were causing the issue.
What I did:
1. Performed a backup of the sd card on a computer.
2. Formatted the card.
3. Put thefiles back on.
4. Put the card back into the phone.
5. Restarted handset.
Now, two weeks on, not a single lockup!
Enjoy.

First i thought it was the sd card also but after testing it a few months now i believe it has something to do with the App Power Saving mode that is turned on by default where some apps cant handle it and it will freeze your phone. When i turned this feature off the phone seems to work fine while it used to lock up a couple times a day.
Tny that works for me. Good man

Factory Reset of 1+1 on Cosmic OS ROM - Internal Storage not Accessible

Hi All,
I got my OPO installed with Cosmic OS through a friend few months back, and my Phone started giving out troubles off late. I never had the experience of flashing phones. To start my device fresh, I did a complete factory reset without knowing the dos/donts of a custom ROM (Deleted all the data without backup), and it screwed up my device.
After Factory Reset:
Most of the apps don't work
Not able to access the internal storage. Could see the internal storage through Settings > Storage, but not able to access through files explorer application.
Device getting detected in my comp. while connecting through USB, but its empty. Not able to transfer data either.
Is there a method I can recover my storage and reinstall a ROM?
Thanks, Vivek

I think you might have unintentionally formatted your internal storage.Do this: Power off your device>Press Power off+vol down buttons simultaneously until you see 1+ logo, you'll be greeted with twrp splash screen after that>Select Install, and see if your files, that were in internal storage before, are still there or not(see attached screenshot). If they aren't there,I'm sorry, but there's no possibility of getting your files back now.
Now,to flash a new ROM,see rom threads and there should be instructions in first post of that thread on how to flash. After done, blame your frand for all of this.

Hey Mr. AK, thanks for sharing these steps. But unfortunately I dont see TWRP splash screen opening in Reboot. However, it opens in CyanogenMod Recovery mode. While doing my full factory reset of my device earlier, I remember deleting TWRP and GAPPS from the device(Unknowingly).
I now installed TWRP app through app store, the following are some things I saw after installation
When I select TWRP Flash from the home screen, it opens a the next screen with a pop up notification at the bottom saying 'Device Not Rooted'
When I select Reboot option through the options pane on the left, and then select REBOOT Recovery, it doesn't reboot.
I'm not able to downoad the TWRP image for my device as well.
Is there anything that I could do from this state?
