So, here is the thing.
I was running on Hellybean-20130426-crespo. Been running for quite some time without any problem.
Phone runs out of battery, so, I plug it in and get stuck on "Google" screen.
After some tests, I find out that if I unplug it from charger, and turn it on, the phone boots, but while booting, it reboots, and enters this way into an infinite loop.
So, I think, I will do a factory reset. This worked, the phone booted normally, and I was re-installing my apps, but every now and the phone rebooted.
So, I think again, I will wipe the phone clean and re-install hellybean, see what's going on.
I enter recovery, and wipe cache, system, boot and then I go to sd card...
I can't format the SD card. When I check the logs later, I see I get an error message:
Photo: puu.sh/2Q9nW.jpg
I can mount the SD card, but I can't see the files on my PC.
But when I go to the "apply zip rom SD card", recovery can see the files:
Photo: puu.sh/2Q9of.jpg
Any ideas what to do next? I will probably get it to a Samsung service center tomorrow, because I'm out of ideas.

You don't need to format the SD Card for a "full wipe".
You just have to:
1. Factory Reset
2. Format System
3. Format cache
4. Format dalvik cache
5. Format Data
That really is it. Then re-flash helly bean.
If you're having funky sd card errors I would reformat my sdcard through your pc as that is the best most reliable way to do this. Then try installing what you need to.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Well, yes only problem is that the PC can't read the sdcard, so I can't save the "update.zip" into the sdcard.
As of today, I can't even mount the sdcard, so I guess my only option is Samsung service.
When I bought the phone, the camera wouldn't focus, got it replaced (the camera)
Then the vibration stop working, got it replaced as well
2 weeks ago the speaker started making distortions, got it replaced as well.
All in warranty. The phone doesn't have a scratch, I'm very careful with it.
This time I will ask them to replace the phone, or else I will burn down their store. I've had enough....
PS: all the sdcard problems started after I sent the phone to service for the speaker problem and they downgraded me from stock 4.1.2 back to 2.3.
Don't know if it has something to do with it...

I'll try this forum, over 200 views on my other posts and no suggestions. Is the problem that obscure ? The tablet, while not worthless, is getting there as I am unable to load any of the hacks and fixes to the SD card to install. Is there a work-around the SD card so I could reinstall the g-sensor fix ?
With all the great minds on this forum, surely someone will have some insight into my problem. To start with I am running the latest Vegan release (thanks Team) and have been since 1/1. The only thing I can think of that might have caused this problem was that I foolishly removed my SD card without dismounting it and popped in a blank one to see if it was working. Since then, I am unable to mount an SD card. If just says "Unmount in Progress". When I click on unmount, it will unmount it and give me the "Mount SD card" option, when I try to mount it, it will say "preparing SD card", then go back to "Unmount in Progress". When I try to mount a new card, it says "Card blank or unsupported file system". But all the other card I have used in my Gtab give me the same Unmount in Progress issues. I reinstalled Vegan. Apps that used to work, no longer work, they just open and close (No FC message)
Someone please help !!!

I'm not one of the g tablet great minds but I'll make a suggestion that always works for me.
1) Format your external SD card in a computer with Fat32. Preferably not a quick format.
2) Using Recovery wipe EVERYTHING, repartition/format the internal memory.
3) Reboot into Recovery
4) Connect to a computer, mount usb, copy your files over again.
5) Re-install the rom of your choice.
In my experience (at least on the HD2 with Android) crazy FC's and otherwise unexpected behavior from a freshly installed ROM means there are leftovers that were not removed from the previously installed rom.
IMHO the device should be completely empty of every bit of software before reinstalling.
Edit: On a side note, I have NOT been able to get an external SD card from recovery which is why I do everything through USB-Mount with the computer.
If you can mount via usb, you could put the ClockWorkMod (CWM) update.zip and recovery file and then reboot with Pwr/Vol+. That should install CWM.
Then you will be able to boot into CWM and repartition or whatever you need to do. Personally I would repatition, clean out the caches, wipe data, etc. and then start with a clean slate.
Hope I have not misunderstood what you need. Hope this helps.

Factory Re-set
Don't know if this will help or not, somtimes you need to clear out the cashe.
Have you tried going into settings and clicking factory reset?
You will lose your user data, but this might be enough to fix the problem. I think you have parts of two installs overlapping each other.
Also, reformatting the SD card sounds like the next step to try if factory reset does not fix the problem.
Third you could NVflash back to stock and then start over. Then do factory reset after each install.
If you have to wipe everything I would suggest formatting your internal sdcard in clockwork to 2048 and 0

If you did a factory reset and nothing happened then the reset didn't work. I would install clockwork recovery from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851657
Then boot into clockwork recovery and clear data/cache. You will have to redo the market fix and install your apps. If this doesn't stop the force closes then boot into clockwork recovery and repartition your sdcard to 2048 and 0
I'm having the same problem. I did nvflash and started fresh. Installed CWM making sure to wipe data/cache. I partioned the SD to 2048/0. I installed vegan 5.1 and its update. I think I did everything by the book, yet it still says Unmount in progress. This did not occur when I was running stock.
I tried the sd card from mt Evo as well. It does the same thing. It also does not recorgnize any USB flash installed as well.
I've run out of ideas. Can anyone help?
Thanks very much.

My VEGAn 5.1.1 says same thing but I never have a problem accessing files on it (/mnt/sdcard2). Are you sure you are not confused by the fact that the internal memory is divided into 2 GB "system" and 14 GB SD1?

Be patient, it took forever to mount a thumb drive for the first time and I too had thought something was wrong. Try again after a reboot and a couple of minutes.
Hope this helps
Thanks for trying to help. I pretty much gave up and installed TNT 5.0. I've had the thumb drive in there for 5 minutes but I'll keep it in to see if it shows up. In TNT, the SD card seems to be working/appearing fine.
I really liked Vegan, but I'll keep TNT for at least a few days to see how it does.
Thanks again!
Here is my situation, my phone is HTC myTouch 3g...I wanted to lessen the internal or system's space but can't find the right software to do it in Market so I played with my phone and what I did is restart chosing "Recovery". When I reached prompts and commands area I chose to wipe out battery memory (don't know what was the exact term but something like that)...so now, my battery won't charge plus when I did "Reboot Recovery", the phone won't start as if it wipes out all the system! So now, I'm hanging on for 30 minutes or so but nothing happened when I turned my phone on, it just shows HTC Magic and nothing else. I wonder how to fix this problem. My phone won't even connect to the PC via USB or even if I plug it through AC charger.
OK, so I figured out how to go to the Clock Recovery but still, it won't boot! Help!
Full Wipe
Wipe Cache
go to mounts and storage
format boot
format system
format data
go back to main menu
install .zip from SD Card
flash CM from there and reboot.
Replacing rom in HTC HD2 NAND
hi, new to this rooting stuff. Got android rom loaded on NAND of my htc hd2. This not like this rom so i want to try a new rom. My question is do i have to erase my phone or do anything to it before i flash a new rom. thanks.
Problem Solved but...
Here is what I did to the problem:
1. I downloaded Cyanogen Mod 6 for my HTC Magic to my PC. I also downloaded the Google Tiny Apps. I put both into a newly formatted SD card (must be FAT32).
2. Since I still have the ClockWorkMod I restarted my phone by pressing the home and power button. I pressed install from flash from the options and it gave me options to open and install both of Cyanogen and/or Google Apps, I did Cyanogen update first then Google Tiny Apps. Note that there will be only two options. I forgot to write down the exact path name. The path names were obvious so you'll figure it out when you get there.
3. Just wait until the install is finished, look at the prompt in the screen until it says done.
4. Then reboot it using the options, just press the back button to go back to Clock's home screen.
Then it is done and solved.
BUT!!!!!! My problem now is that the backlight option is missing so my phone has no backlight now.........somebody help with that glitch???
Hey everyone,
So I got my tablet today and have been working on it for the past 8 hours!! I finally got CWmod on it and running. Had a nightmare of a time getting it to work correctly and after using NVFLASH to nuke the whole tablet and install the stock ROM, then updating i was able to get CWmod to run. Now I'm having a really odd issue.
I can boot into CWmod. I repartitioned the SD card, mounted it. I can see the device in windows but when I add ANYTHING to the internal SD card it is completely gone once I reboot the device. I'm trying to get a ROM on it but it's like the drive is locked or something really weird. It copys onto the tablet just fine. the second I reboot everything is deleted.
I feel like I'm missing something here. I had that issue with it when I ran the stock ROM. I could change something and it would not stick after a reboot. For example registering my device on kindle and then downloading books. as soon as I reboot the machine it's as if i never registered it. I'm really at a loss as to what to do with this. I can't seem to get it to save anything on the internal storage.
Well after fiddling with it for a while longer I'm about to give up. I used NVFLASH to get it to the stock ROM again. updated to 3588 and yet again, I can't get any changes to stick. I can change anything and everything on it while it's powered on. The second I power it off and reboot it nukes everything I did (and takes close to 5-6 minutes to boot). I even mounted it and deleted every single file on the internal storage. They all came back upon reboot. I reformatted the entire SDCARD, I reformatted all the user data, did a cache wipe.. nothing works. I'm wondering if my unit is defective? at this point I would love to just have a tablet that I can actually use. I can't understand how it's even possible to not be able to make any changes on the device unless it's reinstalling the ROM everytime I reboot?
What version of CWM are you using and how did you install it?
I was running CWM 8. I couldn't install it via the internal storage. It would boot into recovery mode and "install" but once the machine rebooted it would not boot into CWM. I tried it several times same deal. I could install it but once it rebooted, nothing :/..
So I had to use the micro SD card to install it. I edited the recovery command file and pointed it to the SDCARD2. It installed finally, and stuck!
I tried using the microSD card to install the other ROMs. But unfortunately it will not mount in CWM.
I'm trying to get CWM back on it after doing yet another wipe with NVFLASH. We'll see if I can get it to work..
So i'm basically sitting here with a brick.. unless I never power it off lol!
Ok well another odd thing is going on with this. I'm up and running with CWM 08 again. I can turn on USB mass storage mount. The tablet shows up in windows and on my linux box. I can make whatever changes I want, adding files, deleting everything on it. Nothing matters cause once I unmount and remount the device it's all back to normal. It seems like nothing is allowed to write to the internal storage even though it thinks it does write to it??
Hi All,
I am using ICS Asianic V2.0 by Darkmantra. And I was playing with my phone last night (Build prop to be specific). I set VM heap to 12 and rebooted and after that It would not boot up. It cannot go beyond HTC logo with white background.
I can boot to recovery, I'd tried a few things that i think made it worse. I re-installed build prop tweak from SD card but did not work. I did a factory reset and a few others which i can no longger recall.... So I decided to just go right ahead and re-flash the ROM from SD card but I was not able to. I was getting an error: "e:can't mount /sdcard"
Is there still hope for my phone? any help will be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes happens, try turning phone off, take out sd card, put back in and try again
The problem is that the phone thinks the SD Card is unmounted. (Sorry to restate the obvious)
Physically removing the card and putting it back in might work. But if you do it with the power off the phone might not realize anything is different.
If you have 4EXT Recovery, you can try to remount it from within the recovery. First try to mount it. Then unmount. Then mount it again. See if that works.
If neither of those work try to mount it with ADB.
And if all else fails, copy the files to your computer using a card reader, format the card, recopy everything back to the card, and start over. I had a situation like that once where this was what finally got the card to remount. Something got glitched on the card so it wasn't being recognized.

Thanks Skipjacks!!
I do not know what solved it but here is what I did....
- formatted the SD card (have no important data in it anyway)
- copied ROM to SD card
- set phone to Recovery mode without SD card
- Hot plug SD card
- tried to update from SD card and it was able to recognize it...!
- i was able to install my ROM..
thank you! I appreciate the help!
It's hard to explain what in the hell is happening with this phone. Here's what it does, when you turn on the phone, it goes through its usual process of booting up. After booting up, and at least use the phone for ten second, the phone's screen turns off, the phone vibrate for one time, the screen comes back on at the lock screen, vibrates 3 times, and it repeats this process forever. I had a video for you to see what the phone was doing, but im a new user. so i cant show you the video on youtube. ill probably put the video in a zip later on tonight.

can you get into download mode? if you can...use heimdall to flash back to stock then flash the bootloaders afterwards...is your infuse the AT&T or Rogers Variant?
yes i can get into download mode.
ive tried earlier today, and the other numerous times in the past and yet it always does that. yet, when i flash cm10.x, it doesnt do that at all. but the sound doesnt work when on jelly bean.
its the at&t variant.
before i did the heimdall earlier today, cwm did mention that the sd-ext couldn't be mounted, and there was no app2sd partition found.

i cant even do that, because of something going on in the recovery.
Code:
Error mounting SDEXT:!
Code:
Formatting SDEXT:...
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.
is this the reason of the random reboots?
ive been trying to move the files onto the phone so i can flash kitkat, but it wont let me do that, because the external sd card wont mount.

go into mounts and make sure you sdcard is mounted......like how in JB and KK in recovery sdcard0 is internal and sdcard1 is external but make sure that the internal is mounted...and right above the go back text is mount usb storage where when pressed will give you the ability to put files on either internal or external sdcard when you finished adding them to your internal sdcard just click unmount usb storage and check after like 5 sec that one or both sdcards are mounted then look for the files through the install folder and if found go back to mounts and wipe cache, data, system, and datadata then go back and go to advanced then wipe dalvik then go to install and flash the files you put into your internal sdcard then to be safe wipe cache and dalvik again then reboot
