Issues with receiving texts on at&t network using custom rom - AT&T LG G2

I have the AT&T version of the G2, its been rooted and I've tried both the Omni and Mahdi roms which i love, but im having major issues with not receiving incoming texts. Some come in, some dont, i have no idea why. When i text myself, they all come through. But i have had mamy people tell me that they texted me and i didnt respond. I did notice sometimes that when i restart my phone, i get a rush of text messages/emails once it powers back on. Also, i've tried both hangouts and regular aosp messaging apps and they are al lthe same. I following OP install directions for all roms and did a full wipe (as i always do anyways) when installing the roms.
Anyone else run into this issue or have any ideas?

Check your APN, I had this issue once before and switched my APN from AT&T LTE to AT&T PHONE. I still get LTE coverage without the SMS issues.

[Q] Text messages not being received

Seems like I've been having this problem regularly since I rooted/installed Fission ROM. I even SBF'ed back to original, but it didn't seem to fix my issue. I regularly have to reboot my phone to receive text messages.
I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason to it. I've tried re-programming my phone, but every time it attempts to reprogram, it makes a weird noise and reboots.
Am I experiencing a hardware problem, possibly? With the radio?
Honestly no idea where to go from here, but inability to receive text messages = huge problem.
Are you using it on Verizon or on a non-Verizon GSM/HSPA network?
I've got the same issue using my milestone1 but milestone2 has more ram, so that problem should'nt appear at this device.
I believe I'm on the Verizon network, I'm using it in places I've always had good coverage.
Update: I re-installed Fission 2.4.3 I had from backup and installed Handcent SMS. So far, so good. I haven't appeared to miss any text messages since then.
Still, it's a very odd situation. Hoping Gingerbread gives some more stability, though I'm not sure why it would matter.
This has happened to me on TMOUS and to a friend as well...I have SGII she has MyTouch 4g...after reboot, a flood of undelivered texts comes in...all with the same time so doesn't help when trying to see when originally sent.
I'm rooted/custom rom and she's bone stock...wondering if its a network issue or android problem

Strange Problem - Can't Send SMS

Ok, first of all I'm an old veteran at flashing ROMs. Secondly, I know about the SIM card reset, where I restore my phone to factory settings and enter a number in the dialpad (can't remember it, have it written down) to reset your network connection. The thing is, I have a few hours left at work before I'll have time to attempt that, so I wanna explain this issue to the community and see if there's an easier option.
So, to start, I have been running the 01/02 build of Bean Stalk 4.4.2 for a few weeks now with no issue. I'm also on the latest modem, VRUCML1, which I again have been running for a while with no issue.
Today I decided to try out some newer builds, so I made a nandroid and then flashed the new Carbon 4.4 build (01/19). This was when I had my first network issue, where it had me stuck in roaming even though I was in my home. So, thinking the ROM may still have some issues, I switched to a newer build of Bean Stalk (01/17). While I now had mobile data back, I found that my phone was unable to send SMS.
I finally restored my nandroid, yet now I find that this problem is still persisting. I flashed the previous modem, VRBMF1, and the problem still persists.
The weirdest thing, though, is that even though it won't send SMS, my mobile data works fine. I'm able to browse the web at full LTE speeds, but not send SMS.
Edit: After a recent test, it seems phone calls won't work either. So my phone seems to be handling the LTE functions well enough, but is having trouble with the CDMA/EVDO part of the antenna.
Anyone who has any advice, please help. Like I said, I'm inclined to do a SIM reset, but won't be able to until much later tonight.

My IMEI is there, it was the first thing I checked. I did the whole IMEI backup thing way back in the beginning with this phone.
IMEI wouldn't explain the problem anyway. I still have 2-3 bars of LTE at all times, which I wouldn't have if I didn't have my IMEI. For whatever reason regular phone communications (SMS/Calls) won't go through. Since I know that Verizon still routes those communications through the older CDMA/EVDO network, I'm assuming that's the source of my problem.

Sure just make sure things don't get corrupted, if everything is still in order then you can reset sim, worse case call VZ and they can reset (re-provision) the sim for you. Happened to me twice and VZ solved them in both cases.
The problem i had i couldn't recieved calls. Everything worked fine..
I ended up getting new sim card then the employee dialed *73 then my fone was back in action

yeah I figured that would have to be the answer from the beginning. Have to Odin back to stock first, won't be able to do that for probably another 3-4 hours because of a work meeting that's about to start, so I figured I'd ask around.
If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to them. Otherwise I'll reprovision tonight and report back.
The data/sms issue isn't odd... sms and calls are on the 1x protocol, data is on the LTE/CDMA/EvDO, so if you can't send sms, you can still use data.
Have you tried flashing one of the stock-based roms and seeing if the issue remains? I've encountered that before where stock is fine, but CM/AOSP roms have a wonky issue and *some* people report after doing so, they can get data/calls working on the custom roms. Unfortunately, my resolution there was to cab (LG device) back to factory image.

Flash back to stock, or a stock based rom with stock messaging. Try to force the message through. My messages stopped sending on aosp messaging and was persistent through rom flashes. I eventually forced it through using touchwiz messaging.

Not receiving calls / not connecting to outgoing calls

I could really use some help for anyone who might have a solution.
My phone for some reason is not receiving calls. Not only that, but it does not register when I have a voicemail message and it more often than not takes me at least 2 tries to connect when I make calls. I should mention that I always have signal when my phone does this, even though it thinks I don't.
Has anybody else had this problem or know how to solve it? I'm not sure if I froze something I shouldn't have or if I might need a new sim, etc. I am on OE2 with CleanROM 1.5
Thanks in advance
You're currently using a custom rom, which usually come with bugs because 90% off them are still in beta. If you want things to work like they're suppose to I'd say use stock and and be rooted.

SMS/ Phone call Issues

Hello everyone!
I installed TKHD ROM and love it except i'm having 2 very big issues!
1. Text messages. I don't get messages friends send me even when they're right next to me.
I've tried AirPlane Mode, rebooted, cleared Data and Cache of the app itself and nothing :'(
2.. Phone calls. When placing a phone call it sometimes lags before making that little chime (the one that notifies you that you're now making a call before the ringer sounds) It could sometimes take a good 5 seconds before making the call. Or, sometimes i make a call and it goes straight to VM even tho the person im trying to call is right next to me. This is also the same when people sometimes try to call me. Tho i'm not even using the phone, when thye dial it goes straight to VM sometimes.
Once again i've tried rebooting, flashing the ROM clean all over again etc but the same thing persists.
How did i install this ROM? By following the exact guide provided on the OP.
ROM: Latest version of TKHD
Kernel: Whatever comes with this ROM tho i also use SkyHigh
Recovery: Latest TWRP
Bootloader/ Modem: The latest version (OKC?)
I know some may say its my device but we'll idk about that. It only happens on this ROM.
I really like this ROM and would love to stay with it but idk how i can do that if i can't get the basics to work
Please help XDA !
Have you tried Odin to stock rom. Factory reset then fresh install? Also, I would download another copy of the rom. Could be a bad download.

What app are you using for messaging? I'm having an issue with MMS sending right now, but I think it's related to WiFi Calling and EvolveSMS. However my cousin did send me a text yesterday which I did not receive, and I wasn't on WiFi Calling at the time.
I am actually using stock SMS and MMS.
And I heard something about WiFi calling or wifi in general
And I do have them off and still run into this issue

MMS and SMS issues on rooted Galaxy S5 over a variety of custom ROMs and texting apps

So I have installed a number of custom ROMs on my Galaxy S5 over the past couple of years (with the help of my son!). One thing that seems to consistently give me problems (and a reason I keep searching for new ROMs) is that SMS and MMS give me problems. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Issues happen both in sending and receiving, but they are not consistent. I can be having a back and forth with someone, and random texts will come through much later, screwing up the "conversation." Pictures often have problems, and group texts have more than their share of issues. Again, sometimes they work fine, but at least weekly they don't.
Currently I am using the Textra app, and my ROM is Tipsy-kltespr-final_Maybe-v5.1-20161112-1204.
Since SMS and MMS have given me problems on so many ROMs and messaging apps, the issue might be around picking the right cellular network settings. If you think so too, I would love some tutoring around things like APNs, network types (global, CDMA, GSM, etc), CDMA subscription (RUIM/SIM vs. NV), as I do not know what most of those things are and just switch them randomly trying to get things to work.
Another thing I've wondered is if the problems I have are mainly when texting with Apple users. If so, is there a fix.
Any thoughts would be sooooooo appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
Please forgive me if I posted this in the wrong forum, and let me know if I should post it elsewhere.
Thanks.
I don't think that texting with Apple users is the cause of this problem. If you have tried so many ROMs, I think it is time for you to consider that it is a hardware failure rather than software. I too had encountered a SMS problem, if a text sent to me is too long(I don't know exactly how many characters would have triggered it), I could not receive it at all. How did I fix it? I downgrade from 6.0.1 to stock ROM G900PVPU3BOK4 (5.0). For me, it helped. I don't know if it works for you. But you can try before you get your S5 to customer service.
Anytime I install a custom os it wants to use boost APN which is almost the same but not quite, picked sprint and it works on my cm variant
