Dont forget to check USB Debugging in Developer Option and Unknown Resources in Security and make sure your connection type is MTP. Ohh 1 thing, make sure you have administrator privilege to run 01-local-prop.

Hello,
i rooted my Xperia J successfully two weeks ago with the firmware 11.0.A.3.18.
I wanted to make an update on 11.0.A.7.5 without losing root now. Can I use your method without root again?
One more thing where I can find the news of updates, i would like to know what was done or fix and what is different between 11.0.A.3.18 11.0.A.3.28 and 11.0.A.7.5.
THX
Hai don't worry just extract the root .zip and run 01-local-prop after completing process a message appear pls uncheck wipe data
Now unplug your device and open flash tool and select 11.0.A.7.5 ftf and uncheck wipedata
After finishing power it on and open the zip and run push root files after this your automatically reboot
You will rooted .........enjoy

Hello every body !
This is a little tutorial for: How to come back to your stock ROM when your Xperia device have a Soft Brick!
I do this with a Xperia Tipo but this tuto work for all the Xperia devices whith un/locked boot loader!
How can I have a little brick:
-Format a wrong partition.
-Install a incompatible ROM.
-etc...
1. What you need:
1.1 Flashtool !
Dowload link: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/tool/flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/
1.2 Install drivers
Go to ./flashtool/drivers
Run Flashtool-Drivers
Select your phone. (If you don't know, Select all)
1.3 FTF file:
Go in this page: here (For Xperia Tipo)
Section Tipo
Select your FTF file (Advice: If you don't know which one is your take the GENERIC 11.0.A.4.22)
Save it in the directory: ./flashtool/firmwares
2. Installation:
2.1 Flashtool
Run Flashtool
Click on the lighting button (Flash)
Select Flashmod
Select your FTF file

Now flashtool will be install your FTF file on your phone.

It's not the subject of the thread, but it's a good idea It's better to have a way to come back to a stock ROM BEFORE trying to make your own .FTF file. Without having a way to come back, it's a bit harder if you're stuck after trying to make your own FTF..

I think exacly the same things ! But it's a good idea for a second tuto! Thank you !
Yes I agree. Im just saying to put pc companion / update service as first step before root and mod and come back to stock.

No this version works very well ! Did you follow the tutoriel for the installation of flashtool ?
There is a official flash tool from Sony and i try it but i didn't like it! The installation is very sad and I don't find how to repair my phone with. The version from the link is very simple and easy to install. ^^

Brick
i had cm10 fxp222 running on my tipo with this mod :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014242
i tried to change external SD from 4 to 16 GB, but after replacing and formating the new one, my tipo seems to be dead.
pushing powerbutton: no vibration, no screen, no led , no fasboot- or flash- mode.
flashtool, SUS, and pc-companion also didnt work ... battery was about 70 percent when it stopped working.
anyone got an idea ? possibly it has anything to do with the SD-Swap ?

Need to Flash but USB not working
Hi all,
I want to flash the factory ROM without usb cable. Is there any tool available to flash without data cable?
There is some issue with motherboard where I can only charge it by turning mobile off. So I cant detect or charge it when mobile is ON. Is anyone faced same issue?
I tried converting .ftf file to zip so that i can flash it using CWM. But got stuck in the middle.
Please share stock ROM in zip format if anyone has.
Thanks,
Karthik

That's EMMA Sony's own software tool for unlocked bootloaders not flashtool that's referred to in here. Your friend has flashed single sim firmware onto a dual sim device hence the message on the screen.
Use flashtool to flash the correct dual sim firmware wipe user data ect when flashing and it'll be good as new.
