Hello. Greetings from Canada.
I managed today to finally root my Sony Xperia J ST26a after several months of having tried for the first time.
My experience rooting devices is very limited.
I deleted a lot of bloatware put by Sony and Bell
The phone worked quite well for a while until I got "trigger happy" and started to delete more apps.
One of these deleted apps was com.sonyericsson.home.
Such app stopped working and the phone became unusable.
I rebooted the phone and it is stuck on the Xperia animation.
Is there a way to regain access to the phone? Or is it bricked?

Thank you DPxMiro.
Your suggestion led me the right way.
I did not use flashtool. Ended up doing a hard reset of my phone as stated in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1862664
Phone works again. :good:

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I've tried to update my Xperia J to the new Jelly Bean firmware, but before that, I've done a full wipe and format system and cache through CWM. After that, I reboot my phone and it never goes after the Sony logo. I've tried to repair it with PC Companion, SUS and Flashtool, but everytime it starts to flash new Rom, the green led goes off and nothing is done.
Is there any solution for this, or should I go to the store and pray that it isn't to expensive to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Its not hard bricked. Its really normal for green light to go off while flashing ftf.Just wait for the flashtool to complete preparing files and then connect your phone in flash mode(green led) after the prompt appears. It will instantly start the flashing process (and yes, the green led goes off as soon as flashing starts so dont worry).
You may also experience a strange problem where the flashtool gets stuck at 0 percent. You can fix that by trying some older version of flashtool.
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm really getting stucked at 0 percent at Flashtool. I can´t even repair it with PC Companion, that's why I was afraid that is was an hard brick. I'm going to try with an older version of Flashtool as you've said.
Thanks again.
EDIT: I've tried with an older version of Flashtool and still no luck, always getting stucked at 0 percent. I read somewhere that my problem must be that my phone at this moment don't have any operating system and that probably I couldn't fix it at home. Is this true or is there something more I can do?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Well i used to get this problem with my flashtool.Installing an older version did the trick for me.You can try flashing from some other system

Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
If you got unlocked bootloader then you can fastboot flash fxp kernel followed by the rom itself. This will atleast make your device functional again.

Unfortunately my bootloader is locked.
I will try again, but this time on my computer here at work.
EDIT: Still no luck in another computer. I guess I will need to go to Vodafone Store at the end of the day and see what they can do with my phone.
Good news!!
I've installed PC Companion here on my work computer and it repaired my phone. Probably there's some kind of problem with my computer at home. I'm already flashing Jelly Bean normally with flashtool.
Thanks a lot for your help balboarocky.
Use Flashtool for this

Hi,
I have Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i phone which was rooted already, recently I came to know about rom updation for android devices and I tried to update a new custom rom by entering to recovery mode through flash tool. Unfortunately something went wrong and now when I am trying power on the mobile it is freezes at Sony Ericsson Logo.
Please help me to enter in to recovery mode again (I hope all the data has wiped out due to miss handling, Even the flash tool is no able to detect phone model)
Holding the back button while power on is also not effecting.
I am not able to boot the phone so I am not in a position to check root access and super user status now.
Please help me....
Have you tried to go to cwm recovery by pressing volume down button

Thank you for the reply fenix,
I tried all key combinations.Nothing is going on my way.Is there any solution to get in to the recovery mode on this condition?I made a backup of my phone before the failure.

i think this is what we call as 'brick'
there are numerous videos showing how to unbrick the device
first u must know whether it is hard or soft brick
and then try to solve ur problem

Use "adb reboot recovery" and continually send it the command until the phone gets it.
or if your phone bootloader is unlocked then flashed a custom kernel with flash tool
if possible please provide a download link of unbrick software for sony ericsson xperia x10i. please discuss about the possibility of flashing a boot loader unblocked kernal and ROM.
Software for unbricking is available in this link

I don't have reboots. Roote, with Locked bootloader.
How did you get reboot? What you did/install on your phone? Try doing factory reset of repair with Pc companion.
Good Luck.

Try to take logcat to see what is the problem. Download Android sdk tools, in tools folder you'll find monitor.bat, there you have logcat option.
If you have warranty just take it to Service.
Good Luck.

Finally i got it solved. Only when i made
the 3ª hard reset but this time with the
"backup data" settings turned off and
the "Automatic restore"turned off in the
same settings, it worked. I think some
aplication update was causing the
problem and it is happening in a lot of
M2 devices. It is a shame that we can't
downgrade the apps frm the store.
Which app was it then?, I use both those functions just fine so can't be using it.
i have the same problem just it won't give me the factory mode
what should i do?
Hi guys,
I really need your help!
I rooted my phone using the method for xperia devices with bootloader unlock no(Root for Xperia E3 D2203 with locked BL by nortonex) Everything was working perfectly fine for couple of months. Yesterday my phone restarted and after a minute of using it restarted again and kept doing that, basically was stuck in bootloop, but in this case it turns on, I can do something for 5 - 10 seconds then it freezes and restart.
Rooted Apps installed:
Xposed - I disabled it pressing the right key during boot up
Amplify
Greenify
Xposed modules - Sd card, OBB on sd card, App settings, Gravity Box, Gem Xperia
Link2SD
SDMaid
I also recently installed Theme Catalog by Michael Ambrosiac.
Two weeks ago I installed BusyBox installer by Stephen Stericson from Play Store to give permission to Gem Xperia to restart the System in order to change the navbar buttons. It worked perfectly fine.
I disabled many Sony apps months ago.
My PC doesnt recognize the phone. Sony PC Companion also. I cannot use adb. I managed to uninstall BusyBox but I dont think thats a problem.
I have 18.5.C.0.19 firmware.
Thank you
Have you tried booting in flashmode and flashing the firmeware again using the flashtool?

Hi guys recently my Xperia z3 updated to 5. 1. 1 lollipop and rebooted it said install applications for firmware then stopped at like 87/144 and eventually the battery drained out and the phone won't charge at all sent it to Sony and they said they can't fix it any one has any idea how I can do it my self
Appreciate any help possible fixing this phone paid alot of money and I'm disappointed Sony won't fix it
Try if you can get it into flashmode.
Hold the vol down and connect it to your PC while holding it.
It should start into flash mode (blue LED if I remember correctly) and in the PC's device manager a new device should pop up.
If it works you can easily reflash a official ftf with Flash Tool.
