it could be the battery image is corrupt. When it shows that does it actually charge?
Since you are rooted you might browse to. well i forget where its at . easy to find online and replace that icon file.
sorry for not exact help. Or maybe re flash the rom..
Good Luck
i restore the tab to original and then everything is oke
now i installed everything again, root, recovery and omnirom, and the battery charge icon is again screwed up. ( also with another custom rom.)
So its have to be something in the custom roms i think ?

well the phone is wm5 which means there has to be a oem rom you can download somewhere...
you already hard reset and lost everything, so there is no way anything else can go wrong if you flash the stock rom... itll just give it the freshest hard reset and i'm guess would solve your issue... other than that, i don't think i know another way to solve ur issue...
what model do you have?
device details
asus p525
rom: v3.33.0 wwe5

d*mn sorry man... how bout.. this is a LOOOONG shot... try taking your battery out and leaving it out for like an hour or 2... maybe? probably not
I don't know what could have caused that.
All I did was flash a stock GRK39F.zip, then flash the Google OTA. After this finished I restored /data from my other ICS install, then flash a new kernel (GLaDoS-bfs-2.0).
Now my phone doesn't want to turn on anymore and its battery is not empty.
What should I do now? Any advices?
If you pull the battery and replace it try getting into recovery again. If you can get back into recovery I would say try again. Maybe don't flash the kernel this time.

It doesn't turn on. If I just could get into the bootloader it would be fine. I'd flash it via fastboot. But it doesn't even vibrate and the screen also doesn't turn on at all.
Pulling the battery won't help there.
why did you flashed this kernel on the ICS rom...?
ICS got the real 3.0 kernel, the previous kernele were not 3.0
Dont know if it is 100% the reason, but this was a bit "stupid" to do this...

This wasn't a stupid idea, as the kernel is based off the new 3.0 source and I was running it before. I just ****ed my Launcher2.apk, that's why I wanted to re-flash ICS.
So it's not the problem.
The kernel should not have done anything in regards to the bootloader. I would plug in your phone (to ensure your battery isn't dead) then try and get into recovery.
If that doesn't work then sorry I have no clue.

This helped. I didn't get into the bootloader, but it just booted completely fine.
This can be marked as solved I believe.
I'm sure many have already seen or used this if you were looking for a new battery icon on your custom rom. This is an Aroma Installer that currently has 9 differnet battery icons that you can choose from. When running through the installer you will be able to see what the icon looks like in the upper left corner. I will also get them posted here so you will have an idea before you even flash it. Anyone is more than welcome to use this is any way they wish, if you want to include any of these in a rom by all measn go ahead. You dont need to ask me cause I didnt create the icons really, I just modified some and put them all in an easy zip.
Each icon has three folders that will be placed into the SystemUI.apk
-drawable-mdpi
-drawable-sw600dp-mdpi
-drawable-sw720dp-mdpi
This will ensure that no ghost battery icons come up and also has icons for the "Not Charging" when plugged into a computer or low voltage power source.
Currently this zip works only on the Galaxy Note 10.1 series due to I am using /dev/block/mmcblk0p9 to mount system and not busybox. This may change in the future.
GET IT HERE!
Just hit thanks if you use it is all I ask.
Thanks for this your a good guy buddy
thanks for starting a thread to share this pimp.... :good:
I love it!
I love it thanks. I'm using a galaxy note n8010 and it works great, I opted for the spedometer style icon.
Great work!
The zip file has to be flashed from the CWM Recovery but how could we change the battery icon?
Thanks.
Tried flashing through CWM three times on a GT-N8013; hangs on every attempt.
Works great on my 8013 using twrp... thanks!

I had the same problem. Then I flashed it with mobile odin and it worked! I hink it's the CWM you/we are using, it worked before when I had Zedomax's CWM, but with Pimpnation CWM it does not. Not sure why though!

i flashed this into the revolution hd 7.0 rom and it was working fine until i reset the battery stat on cwm and now it stays on 100 even though the actual battery level in 97. is there something i did wrong?
Hey guys,
Rocking CM10, I wanted to boot into recovery. I used the Reboot function in the power menu.
Suddenly the screen froze! I waited 10 minutes but nothing happened. So I pulled out the battery, put it back and manually turned the phone on.
Now: I didn't get into the PIN screen! And the lock screen said: no SIM, no service.
So I turned airplane mode on and off. Still no PIN screen!!!
A reboot. Still no PIN screen .
So my question is: is this a SIM lock, or would reinstalling the ROM work?
Both don't really matter, because my warranty is still there
Any help is appreciated.
Have a nice day!
P.S. haven't tested another SIM. Will do tomorrow.

That guide isn't perfect, you know. I need to flash stock every month, then flash back to CM10. I know when it's time to do so, because then the SIM stops working, just like @MatsPunt's.
Any idea why this happens? I had the same problem. Battery wouldn't charge. Somehow managed to flash stock rom...

I'm just tired of is a fix to keep GSM? thank you
Hi,
Well, my last hope is CM11. Getting real tired of this, and I hope CM11 will fix the bugs. Currently back at CM10, everything is working fine, but if I have to reflash the ROM all over again, I might as well stay stock till CM11 is safe.
Have a nice day.

Probably the baseband bug... The official rom with FW 31 after flashing the radio doesn't work and therefore it says no Sim ... Don't know why ...
Try flashing the previous ftf only flashing the baseband and excluding everything else...
That should help ... the carrier will be unknown though ...
hope it helps
Hello.
My problem is that sometimes, when I receive a notification, ambient display turns screen on to show it (as it should do normally), but then, when it is supposed to turn screen off again, it only goes black, but the backlight is still on. It's hard to notice, but I don't want the backlight on, using battery, when I think it's off.
The only way to turn it off is by activating ambient display again (moving the phone, waving in front of proximity sensor, pressing power button), and then it would show my normal lock screen and then turn off, until "something" makes it leave the backlight on again.
Anyone have/had/knows this issue? I've used Mokee ROM, now I'm on RR and it happened on both, I don't remember if it happened in CM. Could it be something app related?
Thanks.
Yeah same happened with cm 12.1 latest nightly too.....just checked it now...
The Answer
Hi there !
When you have installed the custom rom, you have probably flashed directly from another custom rom , is this correct?
If so, it may be your phones drivers slightly messed up at the moment seeing as it has different parts from other roms, depending on how you flashed it.
My solution would be to flash the stock firmware , which can easily be found in the forums, and then flash twrp, then your rom of choice. If that doesn't work, its likely a bug in that specific build of the rom you are installing , seeing as another person who has replied has had the same problem .

That's strange! I guess it may be something like the drivers you said, because just one user said that have the same problem, but I'll have to wait until I have some free time to flash stock and root and flash CM and restore all apps and that again... I hate that part of installing another ROM.

Ok, I have spent some time thinking about this one for you, as I really want you to get this one fixed!
Although I need abit more information.
1) Does the issue occur on stock rom?
2)Are you sure it is not a problem with the build you are running?
3)What exact steps did you use to flash the rom?
To show that you appreciate my help so far, please click thanks

Thanks!
1)I can't tell if it occurs on stock, because on stock I use moto display (which doesn't have this issue).
2) I'm almost sure, because I've used 2 ROMs and both do the same. Maybe I'll have to try with CM nightlies?
3)I followed the guide in "general" section to flash stock using fastboot and android sdk. After that, I booted on stock, then rebooted to bootloader, flashed TWRP, entered to recovery, wiped data and then flashed RR ROM with it's gapps and then flashed moto camera and gallery. After that, wipe dalvik and cache and rebooted to system.
Right , ok. I recommend trying one of the cm12 nightly builds, seeing as they worked on my phone fine in terms of ambient display

Well, the other user that commented on this post was also using latest CM nightly, so I'm not very positive about it, but I may try it when I have time.
Well , looking at all of the information In this post , I think it is safe to say ambient display is not fully working on many roms :/
I installed a new build of cm12 earlier, and I found that sometimes the backlight will stay on , but other times it is fine.
If you want to work on this together, email me at [email protected] , and then we can look into it abit further ?
I will take a thorough look into the forums to see if others are recieving any problems as well .
