This thread is meant to be a Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting thread for all the lost souls that encountered trouble that is unrelated to the development of the rom.
Do you have trouble finding which variant is supported?
Are you afraid it will brick your phone?
Are you unsure about the procedure for flashing the rom?
This is the thread to ask your questions and I will try to answer a few of them already in the OP.
General questions on how to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery can be found in @matmutant's thread. This thread is only for Cyanogenmod specific questions.
[SIZE=+1]Q1: Which phone variant is officially supported?[/SIZE]XT1031, XT1032, XT1033 and XT1034) and Google Play Edition (XT1032).
[SIZE=+1]Q2: How do you flash the ROM if you come from stock/other custom rom?[/SIZE]Follow the steps:
unlock the bootloader
flash custom recovery
wipe /cache
format /system
format /data
install latest zip
install Google Apps
[SIZE=+1]Q3: What to do if I want to update CM?[/SIZE]All you have to do is flash the official CM on your device. You will get notifications about updates on your phone or you check manually in Settings -> About Phone -> CyanogenMod Updates. The OTA update works completely automatic with a supported recovery and you do not need to do anything else (no /cache wiping, /system or /data formating, no Google Apps installation).
[SIZE=+1]Q4: Where do I get the latest download?[/SIZE]You can find the downloads on the cyanogenmod information page. However, there are 4 different types (Nightly, milestone, release candidate, stable). You can find a description of the types on that page as well. Currently there are only nightlies and milestone builds available.
[SIZE=+1]Q5: Which version do I need to download?[/SIZE]Download the version with the latest timestamp (e.g. cm-11-20140219-NIGHTLY-falcon.zip ). It is a unified build and works with all supported devices alike.
[SIZE=+1]Q6: Where can I find a change log?[/SIZE]
You can find a change log on cmxlog.com and in the cyanogen updater, just click on the version number of the OTA.
[SIZE=+1]Q7: Which custom recovery should I use?[/SIZE]Currently, there are 4 custom recoveries: CWM Advanced Edition, CWM, TWRP, CWMSwipe. You can get the letter three from the OP of the development thread or by using search.
[SIZE=+1]Q8: I am getting an error when doing OTA Update on CWM Advanced Edition.[/SIZE]The storage is set wrong in the recovery. Boot into recovery go to "Advanced" and click on "Storage set to /data/media/0". Reboot your phone and do the OTA Update.
[SIZE=+1]Q9: What is not working?[/SIZE]Always remember that this is still an early build. It is far from perfect, however, mostly useable. You can find a list of bugs in the Debug Thread.
[SIZE=+1]Q10: How to report a bug?[/SIZE]Make sure that the bug persists after a clean install and is not just the result of a dirty flash. Format /cache, /system & /data, reinstall the rom and check for the bug. If it still persists report it in the Debug Thread
[SIZE=+1]Q11: What is the AnTuTu Score for this ROM?[/SIZE]It is around 17,000.
[SIZE=+1]Q12: How can i enable On/Off screen with Flip Shell on MotoG under CM11?[/SIZE]
The Flip Shell should work out of the box since CM11-20140317-NIGHTLY.
[SIZE=+1]Q13: How to enable Immersive mode ?[/SIZE]
Got to settings > interface > Expanded Desktop style.
Choose between Disabled/Status bar visible/Status bar hidden.
Long press power button and choose 'Expanded Desktop'

Is it also known to work with the CM11 build from dhacker? I only tried CWM so far.
Uhhmm i don't know the reasons why it should not work with cm 11, but if so it would really strange and the dev should know this.
It is a nice idea to build a CM11 specific FAQ, though, it is pointless to duplicate global Q&A already hangin' in the already existing FAQs and Guides.

it works just checked!
I successfully instaled cm11 and its perfectly working. But I have a worry:
The CRT animation (from turn off screen) i'ts laggy. Its like at 2 fps or somethings, it isn't smooth at all. This lag is present also when I touch the multitask button, it takes like a second to show the apps. On some menus, the lag is present too.
The weirdest part is that a few hours ago, the lag dessappears, but now is back again.
Anyway with the same problem? or any solution? It will be appreciated

Hey, are you on the latest update (2014-02-19)? Can you check the performance tab in settings and tell me what your min and max frequency is?
Yes, i'm on the latest build.
My frequences are at stock, 300 min 1190 max. Using interactive governor.
I'm using pink kernel last build btw, but i have this problems before with kernem from cm11

Those settings are all correct. Did you dirty flash the rom or did you wipe /cache and format /system & /data before you installed cm11?
I do all wipes and format.
I really dont know what i'm doing wrong.

can you go to settings -> apps -> running and see if you RAM is full? If that is not the case than I would recommend reinstalling cm and see if it was just a faulty flash.

I have 461 mb free, so its no RAM problem.
I think I will try the reinstall.
Is there any other wipe/formar/erase comand that you think I should use, if case this problem comes from a corrupted file?

If it is still present after a fresh install ( formate /cache /system /data) than it is probably a bug and you should report it to @dhacker29 in the development thread of CM11

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the score is since I was unsure what to flash on my device, this or Nexus G+ ( Which scores over 18k )
And regarding your question, as long as you use Dalvik and not ART, it should work just fine

Hello Crash, firts of all thanks for the great rom, you did a great job.
But i have a little problem, my rom is upgraded from cm11s to your rom, and i have a constant wakelock from Google Play services, the "SystemUpdateService " service causes 7 hours wakelock for me, i have to shot it down by hand with a third party program.
My question is, this is caused by the upgrade from cm11s or because the nightly build ?
Before the install i flashd one of the cm12 nightlys.

Hi Crash,
I tried to reinstall your rom after I installed Blisspop 502 and GApps (pa_gapps-stock-5.0.1-20150307-signed.zip).
After reboot, all gapps crash (e.g.: youtube stopped working, play services stop working, etc.)
How can I avoid a full wipe?
Your help is very appreciated.

If you are coming from another rom is better to fullwipe or gapps will conflict since I'm using gapps from another source hehe

How to Install in MultiROM?
I cm11s with TWRP 2.8.5 and kernel AK.072.GOLD.OPO.CM11S
1) Boot into recovery, MultiROM, add rom, zip, I select rom.zip and swipe
or
2) Boot into recovery, MultiROM, add rom, zip, I select cm12 nightly.zip and swipe
then back on the list of rom I select cm12, flash zip, I select crashrom.zip and swipe.

Hey Crash,
Love the ROM, one of the better ones I saw and it fits my needs perfectly
One quick question though, I saw on the cm nightly change log that support for recording calls was added for the opo however it's disabled.
I've read around that it needs to be enabled on build.
Are you able to enable it?

crash with DS audio
Crash rom was reli nice, especially the battery life. However, I have a NAS and home and tried to access it with DS audio (an app designed by synology). However it was forced to close it every time. Is there any way to solve this?

Successful upgrade
On an XT1034 (1st Gen Moto G from Wind Mobile in Canada) I just upgraded from MIUI Kitkat 4.4.4 successfully.
I had an issue with my bootloader being version 41.13 while flashing. Naturally the process was aborted during flashing. To fix this I downloaded a new motoboot.img from the second url in this link, and flashed it with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar version-bootloader
Everything works great so far. The UI is snappy and I haven't had any errors. Thanks!

If I only want to upgrade to the latest update could just flash and wipe wipe Dalvik cache and cache without having to make the full wipe ?

no need to do a full wipe if upgrading, just make sure to reflash gapps

Hey Niropa, I'm having a few issues with 20150611-2107's build.
1) Pie Controls: When I go to add buttons for the pie control, I might click the add button at the top of the screen and the list of controls to add is empty. Alternatively, I try to click an already added button to change it, and the list that pops up is empty. If I remove a button by swiping it off screen, It doesn't add the action to the list. This is the case for both the first level and second level pie buttons.
2) Notification Drawer: (I was having this issue before 0611's build) I have the setting in the Carbon Fibres settings to display 7 icons in the notification drawer. In my actual notification drawer only 4 icons are listed. If I try to scroll side to side or up and down on the icons, nothing happens. I'm not sure about how the actual functionality for this feature is supposed to work.
3) Power Save Notification Drawer Icon: I have this icon displayed in my notification drawer, and in this latest build the icon always displays as enabled and does not toggle power save mode. It just doesn't work.
Also, when I create a screenrecord, where does it go? I looked around in my filesystem and couldn't find the files.

Hi I am using this release:

It was working fine and then once I restarted my phone after some days, it started optimizing apps and kept on restarting after that. Had to factory reset to make it work.
Also the dialer sometimes does nothing when I click on a contact name to call them and I have to restart the device.
Are these things fixed in the latest build ??

This toolkit was initially created for OnePlus One by @Consistant and I have made a port for Zuk Z1.
I am not responsible for any damage this toolkit may cause to your phone.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THIS?
- Unlock and lock bootloader
- Root
- Flash TWRP and Stock recovery
- Install and uninstall Xposed (You must install this before installing xposed)
- Download and flash 38J CM12.1
- Do some adb and fastboot commands (booting into custom recovery, sideload a zip file, reflash to stock with a downloaded image, check bootloader status...)
- Install ADB and fastboot (just for mac)
MAC INSTRUCTIONS
- Download Mac version of the toolkit in downloads section and unzip it.
- Open Terminal
- Write 'sh ' (without commas) and drag start.sh into the terminal. It should be something like this: sh /Users/Javi/Desktop/Zuk Z1 Toolkit/start.sh
- Now you should see this
- Read very carefully everything the toolkit says to you. It is very important or things won't work.
WINDOWS INSTRUCTIONS
- This toolkit was made to work with Mac. In order to use it on Windows you will have to download Cygwin.
- You will need usb drivers in order to use adb. If those didn't work try to use Samsung's. I've tried both of them on Windows 10 and can't make them work with adb.
- You will also need adb and fastboot which you can quickly install here
- Download Windows' version of the toolkit on download section and unzip it.
- When you have done every step, open Cygwin terminal.
- Write 'sh ' and drag start.sh to the terminal.
- Press enter and you will have the toolkit working.
- Read very carefully everything the toolkit says to you. It is very important or things won't work.
LINUX INSTRUCTIONS
Try the MAC instructions. If they don't work for you, try using 'bash' instead of 'sh'

You just need to replace "fastboot flash partitionname filename.img" with "./fastboot-mac (or whatever its name is) flash partitionname filename.img"

As for the oneplus, they aggressively overhyped their devices and people were dying to get a phone (Duh! I was a stupid one of them).

They haven't started because nightlies are not available yet. So they don't have the sources to work with. When nightlies are out they will start modding

I thought the only difference between them was that one you could touch and the other you had to move with physical buttons.. So I only added one because the toolkit is getting bigger and bigger. If there more differences between them i will add it on the next update

I forgot the rom name but there's a kitkat rom with no screen flickering issue by niropa (on lollipo bootloader). u can contact with niropa to solve screen flickering issue.

Like another toolchain? (Linaro , Uber) or new features from kernel? Like more i/o (zen ) , gpu OC or cpu OC?...

unfortunately I am only at the beginning, I'm learning slowly how to create rom from source code, for the moment I do not know to create kernels with overcloclock or similar. I'm only 15 years old, and this is the second ROM in total which I compile

See PACMan builds with overkill kernel by niropa. Just search in that thread and you'll find many ROMs like CarbonKK or PA, which are made to work on LP bootloader
Will this work on msim variant also? I read you mentioned xt1032 but still if you know..
It might work, but has been tested only on xt1032 aka falcon.

Yes, I have used Overkill kernel that @Niropa has used in his Pac-man rom build, with the hope of fix the screen flickering, but the problem remain. This is aniway a good and stable kernel. For more information see: https://github.com/ReaperXL2/Overkill_V4_extended/tree/cm-11.0

But are kernel sources updated? Or using it cause some incompatility such as hotspot, bt or something else?
All work fine, bluetooth and hotspot work. I have tested it, the only warnings are 3:
-Do not active kernel samepage merging, you will have problem in camera
-install gapps only after the first reboot of the rom
-If you use whatsapp install it before switching to ART (in developer setting, for better performance select ART)
There aren't particular bugs

Because if you install the rom and after the gapps and you reboot, the setup wizard crash. I have tryed it

In version 2 much is corrected. Need to flash "flyme_markw_6.7.5.8R_v2_a4041c.zip"

Is there a "defaults" setting under apps settings? If so, you have to choose a default phone app.

I did know that, am not noob in this.
However this rom caused my phone to go sloooow which I didn't recover even after wiping and formatting EVERYTHING and going back to stock. It is now unresponsive, laggish and can't even open most apps, wherever rom I go. Yes, after wiping everything and restoring stock, flashing other recoveries, and going full-pro with fastboot and adb commands
I do not know what this Flyme did, maybe it was just bad luck or coincidence for me, but my phone is dead and irrecoverable now. And I read in 4pda some Russian guy saying something similar about not being able to boot recovery after newest build, so it may be rom-related as it seems, be extremely cautious with it people
Refllash with miFlash using edl mode. Should work.

Found some bugs in this rom
- double tap to wake not working
- gallery not working when opening picture from camera
- gmail often crash
- Wifi not detected in some apps, should choose data & wifi on then the apps working (Google Photo, Facebook auto play video).
- Sdcard not show in builtin expoler
