everything on my homepage except docks gets wipe off every time i power off/reboot. any idea why, kinda restless when you have to rearrange everything again
Do you have xprivacy installed or similar modules / apps? Is it blocking the Google Now Launcher, especially from allowing it to save info?
I guess if it's resetting you can try to clear it's data and cache and see if that kicks it back to default settings and allows saving.
Nope, the only modules I have is gravity box

I am on CleanRom 3.0 right now, fresh install. Now, for the problem. Today while sitting in class I took my phone out to see it was booted into safe mode. So I rebooted it back, and noticed a lot of my downloaded apps were launching 10-25 seconds after I clicked to open them. So, I rebooted again. That didn't work. I cleared cache and dalvik cache. That didn't work. So, I dirty flashed CleanRom 3.0, which still didn't work. After driving and listening to spotify in my car, the apps launched completely fine, and still are. Does anyone know why this is happening? By the way, this happened on my rooted stock rom, that's why I switched roms. I don't know if this could cause any issues, but I do use Directory Bind.
Have you checked if power saver is on?
Another possibility could be a lot of applications running the background and just slowing your phone down.
Check your task manager by holding the home button for about 2-3 seconds.
Yea, power saving is off. And there isn't any apps running in the background when it's ran slow. Most stock apps will launch fast (settings, phone, clock), but downloaded ones won't (I funny, handcent sms). I seriously can't figure out what the issue is. I've even tried messing around with set cpu, but that didn't help.

Using my phone as usual, went for a run. When I looked at my phone after my run, my phone icon is missing from the bottom of my screen (whatever that's called--it escapes me now) and from my app drawer. It's still present on my lock screen and the app still exists on my phone--as shown in the application manager.
Every other thread with this issue is either doing stuff with themes or ROMs, or they just removed it accidentally from the home screen. Not the case here.
Any way to fix this without doing a factory reset?
I'm running stock, rooted VRBLJ1

Seems like issue with your launcher, what launcher do you have? Try to reboot your phone, if stills not working go to settings->apps and clear data for your launcher.
Using the stock launcher. So what's the name of the launcher? Found several in app manager that could be it...

Touchwiz
I just force stopped mine, cleared data and it reset it. That will undo all the customization if you had any. Hope that works.

I have a "Touchwiz Home". Is that it?

Yep. It reset mine and added back the icons I took off. Give it a shot.

Great. Got my phone icon back.
Now, anyone know what went wrong with the launcher or what got corrupted? I ask so that maybe next time we could fix the problem rather than having to clear the data and loose all customizations.
Hi guys! I have LG G5 and the OS is updated to the latest T-Mobile has. I see some performance issues when:
1) Transitioning from screen to screen, could be from "settings" to an app or from app to app - not that instant
2) When trying to update apps in Play Store. It takes much longer than for example on Galaxy S8.
3) Tried the stock LG launcher and Nova launcher, but didn't really make a difference in performance. I haven't played with developer settings for the transition effect.
Does anyone see similar behavior with their G5? Just to make it clear, it was always like that. Maybe it is normal, but just doesn't feel as snappy.

Manual factory reset? Do you mean from recovery menu, to wipe cache and data?

You don't need to factory reset.
Just clear cache from smart settings and reboot your phone. It'll speed up with use.

I do it often, even cleared cache in recovery menu. If there are any updates in Play Store, how long does it take to update an app? I have checked yesterday and it took 30+ seconds to update "google app", not counting the download time. Most apps take a least 30 seconds, but usually more. I believe that the storage speed isn't as fast as on other high-end smartphones.

I had some slow speeds right after applying the update but they are fine now. The factory reset is just unnecessary headache and then restoring all apps, settings, etc.

Why not just stop using the "clear all" option, instead?
It is hard to say what might be causing this issue because you haven't provided any details about what kind of things you have added/changed/installed on your device. Are you rooted? Are you using apps that kill services to conserve RAM? Have you enabled any battery saver options? Are you using apps that keep background apps and services in a state of doze, sleep or deepsleep?
Details, we need details to understand what you've changed or added that could be causing this.
It might have something to do with other settings that you have setup on your device, settings such as the "don't keep activities" setting or some other setting or maybe it's some other app(s) that you have installed.

Hi,
Yes iam rooted and using aosp extended custom rom android 9, so the problem i was facing was in parallel space app 64 support service that it crashes causing 2nd whats app notification error after using clear all from recent apps,, but after i have tried too many i found the solution for this issue is to exit from 2nd whats app using back button not home button so after using clear all from recent apps it still working and notifications works normally on realtime
Thanks in advance ??
Just like it says. I am having a issues with some apps not saving after I set them. It happens when I shut the app down or reboot and I find that the phone is not doing what I set for the app. I open the app to check the settings and it has all been erased like new. If I keep the app open it runs all the settings correctly and saves them but as soon as I close the app or reboot it some of those apps default like it is a brand new app. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Man I hope someone can help us out with a lil insight. Thanks for the reply. I thought I might have screwed up a few things while setting up this new phone. I am on the latest build stable.
is it the permissions being cleared because its being "Paused". under the app's app info page there is a toggle Unused app settings--> Pause app activity if unused. make sure this is off.

No that doesn't appear to be that either. I checked all the apps that seem to be having this problem. Unfortunately that isn't it either. Thank you for the suggestion! IDK if a reflash without wiping would help?
I have never seen this or experienced it. Have you done "something" different? Tried to root, or install a ROM, or...???? If it keeps happening EVEN to native/default/system apps then I would recommend a factory reset with a low level cache wipe...if it can be done on this phone.

I would go for the reflash, and in the end, go for a clean flash.
I didn't experience this problem, but I did have an issue where every time I set a conversation as a priority, the second I left that screen, it reset back to default. I don't have the issue now, but I've also reflashed since then.
I have fixed it by wiping the affected apps data and then uninstalling them and readding the settings. Thanks guys!
