disable ota on rooted AT&T G2?? - AT&T LG G2

I have been trying to find out how to disable the ota on an at&t lg g2. I previously had one, but was thrown into the twrp bootloop, so had to get a new device and root it. Nkw i am trying to figure out how to disable the future ota's. I dont have titanium backup pro, so cant freeze the update.. any help is appreciated...

if you arew rooted, go and download rom toolbox. open that up and click on app manager. when you see your apps, scroll down to the system apps and search for software updater. click on that then click freeze.

A user in the G Flex forums pointed this out.. seems to have worked for the Flex users.. I havent used it personally(I have no OTA nagging me).

Sprint G flex 2(LS996) GSM (DOMESTIC) Unlock [Guide]

I'm not responsible if this damages your phone, attempt at your own risk.
Hi everyone, I have stumbled upon what appears to be a working unlock solution for the G flex 2 (LS996). This is essentially a similar method of unlocking the g3, but with my unlocked by sprint node.db files. Currently MMS and Calling are not working for me on ATT, but data (LTE) and texting works. I beleive I know why calling is not working, as well as MMS, but I am not sure how to fix it, I am new to unlocking using root. Anyways, on to the guide.
First you will need to root your G Flex 2
You will also need Root Browser
Now after you have rooted download the files attached to this post
Next transfer the files to your phone if you did not download on your flex2
*Back up your node.db and node.db-library by adding .bak to the end in /carrier/apps
Once the files you downloaded are on your phone extract them to /carrier/apps
Now restart your phone with your non sprint sim card, or sprint if you are unlocking for future use
When the phone boots you should see that it is recognized, but the carrier still identifies as sprint
Go into settings, more, set mode to global, then go to apn settings and add in your apn
Now you should have full sms and data
This is as far as I have got at the moment, but I am working on calling and mms on at&t, it did appear to be working on Verizon though
Now to where I need some help:
First is calling. I think I have identified the 2 things that may be causing the problems. First is call barring, when I opened up a hidden phone menu it said that incoming, outgoing, etc calls were locked. When I try to enter that submenu to unlock them it says something about the sim or crashes. Next is hd calling. When I dial a number there is a hd symbol next to dialing, I don't know what that is, but if it is sending the call over data I am assuming that there is some type of problem with it sending it to a sprint server or something. If someone can help me figure this out I will be very thankful.
My next problem is MMS, on at&T. Whenever I try to send or download one it does not work. I might just have messed up my apn a few times but I doubt it. The MMS settings in hidden menus show up with sprint settings, and I have tried changing them but they just revert. Could anyone help me out?
PS Sorry about adding two files the first one did not show up when I posted and now I don't know how to remove
I am getting hands free activation now and then please help.Tried everything below.

Try this..
with root explorer : Go to system/app or /system/priv-app folder.
Locate Sprintsyncml. Apk
Rename it to Sprintsyncml. Bak
or
Search for OmaDmclient.apk, then click and hold the file till it popups a secondary menu, in secondary menu select RENAME.
Rename OmaDmclient.apk to OmaDmclient.apk.bak and press ok.
or
LGstartupwizard.apk... Which is located at
/system/priv-app
try this options it should work..it will disable the prompt
Thanks only found LGstartupwizard.apk but it is still popping up after rename..Please help

Yes that's true. Take care about permissions setup, use root explorer for that purpose. In three countries I use this phone LTE works mostly in bands 4, I also enabled that band using a guide I found here.

I had the phone unlocked by sprint and can still not hook on to AT&T. What are you offering?
5.1.1 can unlock gsm sim too? Thank You
Changed my build.prof and got calling working flawless, just cant seem to be able to change apn settings.
ro.carrier=spr
ro.build.target_operator=spr
With this, you can also changed the spr to tmo if you want.
Anyone know how to make it so I can change apns?

When in the build.prof editor in Root Toolkit Lite, I simply changed it from "SPR" to "spr".
##data# isn't helping because I dont have the msl/spl. Everytime I go to change the APNs it wont allow me add one in. I can edit files if needed, I just need to be able to edit it haha

@carlosirai, others,
can you help me a bit, as your post intrigued me as follows :
i bought this phone - rooted and unlocked as per method above by ebay seller for international usage.
currently, the phone is technically domestic unlocked and rooted on ZV6. this results in no OTA and node files for SPRINT modified!
as an internationsl user, who will not be using US Domestic providers or Sprint, can i unroot on ZV6? then upgrade to ZV9 then root as/if required and use with an international provider? this usage will be on 3G & LTE ( Bands can be enabled as required, post root )?
thanks in advance!
any help you

Native Hotspot on sprint lg g flex 2

This has been bugging for a few days now, i've been tempted to trade my phone for a galaxy note 4, just because of the hotspot and xposed, but we got xposed now, and found this in the LG G4 forum, tried it out on my phone and it worked, i'm not a developer, just sharing what i found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/general/how-to-free-mobile-hotspot-root-t3165049
All I did was change from the build.prop to GLOBAL and even the icons changed
I got mobile hotspot working on my LS996
LG Flex 2 native hotspot unlocked
I've figured out how to get native hotspot unlocked on ls998 LG Flex 2, using the method in the YouTube video. Using quick shortcut make, and hidden menu go to hidden menu sub menu apn.setting. this is where the it gets tricky, because if u select cinet.spcs it will automatically work, but since ita not paid for the radio won't switch over.....so u can edit both cinet.spcs and n.ispsn so select them and go to apn type in setting and add ",dun" you should notice it working right away...it works right away if u do it in cinet.spcs but once u close that window it resets so you'll loose tether capabilities........have fun

Updating & Unlocking Sprint LG G Flex 2 (LS996)

I purchased a brand new LG G Flex 2 and It dawned on me that it was a Sprint variant LS996, rooted and unlocked. I do not live in the US and the phone is working fine with my local carrier, except that there is no tethering option. It currently has Android 5.1.1 installed and software version is ZV6. Since the phone is rooted, OTA updates download but fail during installation.
Now, what I want to achieve is to update the phone to the latest software version and also retain the carrier unlock. I would be thankful if someone can point me in the right direction. It would also be nice if I am able to make a full backup of my system in its current state so I can revert if things don't well.
Thanks
I am in the same situation with my LG g flex 2, there is no hotspot option.
Follow my back to stock guide with stock images on general section. That should help you to go unroot pretty easy and then ota update. Read through that forum there are several suggestions you may apply too.

Thanks for your reply. From what I understand, I have to flash stock ZV6, OTA update to ZV9, and then flash rooted ZV9. Will I lose the SIM unlock in the process? I have seen some people on another forum claim that they went through this process without losing the SIM unlock. On an another note, I managed to enable tethering by changing network mode to Lab in the LTE settings hidden menu. This also disabled the annoying Hands Free Activation screen. However, the Wi-Fi tethering is limited to 1 user. I tried the suggestion of changing SPR to GLOBAL in build.prop, but I couldn't save the file if I added anymore than three characters in place of SPR. I also tried adding dun to APN type in the LTE settings menu, but found out that APN type is not editable.

Change network band to 4g/3g/LTE/2g ? Lg G Stylo H634 (Cricket) Unlocked

Hey guys,
Not sure if its been asked, but for some weird reason the network band option isn't anywhere in the phone menus. The phone is the cricket version h634 unlocked with the 5.1.1 OS and latest cricket update that fixed the audio player cache issue. I am completely lost with this phone and see that there isn't much information on the internet in regards to modifications etc. I did try a code set of numbers that enters you into a hidden network menu, but received a prompt that the app cannot be opened (not sure the exact error).
Please advise, thanks so much guys.

LG V50 Stock ROM

I have a Sprint Unlocked LG V50. Can I flash stock ROM on it with no network lock to make it work with any network?
Especially Metro/ TMobile
If so.. where can I get this ROM and how do I make sure I have the right one?
I want to know the same thing. So dumb that its sold as an unlocked phone but still wont work with other carriers.
My V50 sprint unlocked was working with mint mobile after editing the APN but ever since I updated to Android 10 it no longer allows me to ad an APN, Delete one, or edit.
I thought this thread was going to be really helpful but after trying everything my APN settings are still grayed out. Sprint, LG, TMobile, and Mint mobile (my provider) all dont have any idea what to do about it.
I have already tied "##3282#" and got my correct "Service Code" from the Ebay seller to attempt the what l1lpiggy says to do in that thread, but that didn't change anything, APN settings are still greyed out.
Iam also using LG V500N SK Telecom korean version and i was able unlook bootloader but was not able to install stock firmware.. Let me see wheather i can try custome Rom..
Is there any option to update to stock by stock in zip format after unlocking bootloader like how we install custom roms..

This phone is dead. I'm welcome to any and all posts here just to know that there are people who still use this phone.
I went back to the V30 just because of how abysmal the development is here.
