Hello everybody..
There is some sites stating CM10 everest can be installed on MZ616..
http://androidjinn.com/cm10-android...for-motorola-xoom-3ginstallation-guide.html/2
http://www-motorolaxoom.blogspot.com.br/2013/12/cm10-android-412-jelly-bean-rom-para.html
Despite no screenshots of the achivement be shared till now, I wonder if this brand new CM11 everest (http://duckbox.info/android/cm-11.0/latest.php/everest) could be applied to XOOM 2 MZ616 (aka XYBOARD in USA).
Differences between XOOM and XOOM 2 resides specially on graphics chipset, and although XOOM 2 comes with with TI OMAP chip (that theoretically should be more compatible with android OS), XOOM with nVidia chip is the one officially supported by Cyanogen.
I tried to post this on the developer related forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596566), but system blocked me (too new here), so the reason for this thread..
Anyone could help, please..?!
Many XOOM 2 and XYBOARD owners will be very grateful if this one works on them, since they have enough hardware capabilities to run KitKat..
Thanks!
I totally agree with you, it could be a nice present! I know it's old but jellybean is running by now on many devices with same specs.

Would someone here clarify if the upcoming G2X will be affected by the news that Nvidia will not be supporting Tegra 2 under Honeycomb?
I understand I am talking about a phone that has not been released, along with a version of android that is not even currently on said device.
Thanks for your time.

Hello everyone,
I'm currently thinking about buying a new tablet (I've already tried the first galaxy tab and the transformer) and I found a nice deal (in France) for the Xoom 2 Media Edition.
Would you recommend the media edition for 265$ (in fact it's 265€ but since 1$=1€ for all the manufacturers...) ? I mean I know the xoom 2 is not a big improvement upon the first version but do you think this is a good deal ?
Also it doesn't seem that the community is interested in the xoom 2. I fear that there won't be any custom rom or any other work done on this table. Am I correct ?
Thanks for your responses !
The problem is that it doesn't appear to be unlockable and rootable at this time, so no development. If you don't care about that, go for it. If you want to tinker and customize, get an original Xoom. ICS (Android 4.0.3) builds are already here! Awesome!
I'm looking through this forum and still am stunned that at least four different devices are mixed into a single forum, but my specific question is: is there any ROM support at all for Motorola Xoom 2 MZ615 (EU)? Am I stuck with Android 3.2.2?
The Xoom 2 was unfortunately, pretty dead on arrival.
Hi everyone
I've just bought myself a Xoom 2 UK wifi tablet. I got it to replace my HP Touchpad which has given me great service over the past two years in its Android incarnation. However, after updating it from its original GB to ICS, I've noticed that a fair few of my daily used apps are missing from the play store. So its fairly important that I root the Xoom. I've seen that there are a multitude of different versions which seem to differ markedly from each other in terms of rooting and upgrading so I'd like some help in knowing if there are any one button solutions to it and the best/safest way to get root. Thanks in advance.
Refer to the sticky on top.
[XOOM2/XYBOARD][HOW TO] Motorola Xoom 2/Xyboard Everything Root and more!
It is usable for xyboard and xoom 2
Device: Xoom LTE MZ602 [STINGRAY]
ROM: OmniROM 4.4.4
Problem: No support/function for video calling and some other apps
Attempted resolution: Read below
So it seems that Android no longer supports the Tegra2 after 4.1.2 due to not having the NEON instructions set. I am currently running OmniROM 4.4.4 and am unable to get certain apps that I presume require NEON support.
The thing is, even attempting to use older versions of apps, Duo for instance (which originally supported 4.1), does not work. I believe that there are non-NEON hardware libraries that are not compiled into 4.4.4 ROMs available for the Xoom. Not sure what would be required to provide full compatibility.
OmniROM for this Acer device (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705989) claims to have support for Tegra2. I have previously tried to place the non-NEON libraries from a 4.1.2 Xoom ROM into the one I'm using to no success (I'm no developer). I'm guessing the ROM either needs to have these baked in or there are other dependencies that are less obvious.
I just want apps like Messenger and Duo to work for video calling. At this point, I may just go to 4.1.2 even though I don't want to.
Thanks
You might as well just roll back. Its sad how bad tegra2 support is, but I guess thats what we get for using a motorola xoom in 2018. I for one am not giving up, this tablet is ****ing awesome, I am definitely getting a Xoom 2 Next.
Well I rolled back to 4.1.2 stock ROM w/ root. Still have the same issues with the app functionality. I will say it seems JB runs smoother than KK. Even Chrome Beta still doesn’t work. It doesn’t even open.
