This isn't strictly a Nexus 5 issue since I have now experienced it on a brand new Nexus 7 (2013) updated to 4.2.2.
The issue is for me, when I receive e-mail from XDA (and a few other forums) on my Nexus 5 on 4.2.2 using the stock e-mail client, the links to the forum and unsubscribe just appear as text, not links that can be clicked. That's very annoying since it means to click through to a link (like a forum post) I have to copy and paste the link into the browser.
I thought this was a Nexus 5 issue on 4.2.2 but I just bought a new Nexus 7 (2013) and immediately accepted the update to 4.2.2. On XDA again links to forum posts appear as plain text and are not clickable.
I thought it might be something to do with my email provider (1and1.com) but the problem does not occur on any other device I have (I have a Asus Transformer TF700T flashed with CROMi-Xenogenesis nor in Outlook 2010 or 2013.
Plus I changed my e-mail to my Gmail account on XDA and the same problem happens using the stock e-mail client but not using Gmail.
I have gotten around the problem by switching to K9 e-mail but it seems strange that I should get these problems on my two different devices (the only common factor is that they are GED's and are on 4.2.2) and furthermore nobody else seems to have experienced it.

It's reassuring that somebody else has seen this problem so it's not just me. But it's puzzling that nobody is complaining about it. Do they use an app for the forum and not notice it?

Actually this is'nt due to XDA but the Email app. Most of users have Gmail app and a 3rd party app...

I know it's not XDA since it occurs on another forum I frequent. But I don't use Gmail as my main e-mail so I can't use the Gmail app.
I wonder if this is a documented bug with Google? And it only seemed to occur with 4.2.2.
But K9 works so that's what I have to use.

I also use a 3rd party app however I've just checked my email app and links work now. It didn't do anything in the settings so it seems that an update has fixed it.
BTW I use the latest Banks Core package.

Still doesn't work for me. But then I am running stock and I am not sure I can use other GAPPS without being rooted.

You need a custom deodexed rom to flash gapps but I can't guarantee it will work... FYI I have attached the version number I have. What do u have?

Ok here is my problem. I have GCFE 1.9.1 installed on my phone with all the lastest kenerl,recovery,ETC. I have the stock app loaded into the app folder and have it setup to get mail from mutiple accounts. Now when i try to reply to an email, all i get is a blank page and then a FC. I have tried to wipe all and still nothing working. I tried searching the app store for the stock email client and nothing. Also apparently there are a couple version of the emal client. The one that comes with GCFE1.9.1 was one that i was not even able to setup my accounts. The other was ozemail.apk, that have the setup page for you to choose what email account you want to setup <<----- this one works, but i have the problem of replying to emails.
So if anyone knows where i can get maybe a stock app that was pulled from working version of stock, or if someone maybe has a fix for this, please let me know. There are alot of email app on the market, but some of them are priced way too much. Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem. I went to Verizon and tthey said it was a known problem with the charge a.d to download another app from the market. Pathetic that we can't use the stock stuff that came with the phone.

that doesnt make sense, because the stock app does work when you are on the stock rom and not modified, I have used many times. Now that iam rooted the email no longer works properly. I too have have spoken to verizon tech and they have no knowledge of the stock email app not working.
Is the official xda app only available i the us marketplace?
I would really like to have the app, it isn't available here in sweden when searching for it.

Same here. Also everytime I open the app it asks if I want to receive push notifications. Doesn't matter what my settings are, it always asks when opening. And while we're at it, when is this app going to get a BADLY needed update?

Dammit... I guess it's a server-side issue then. For a long time, it was the only app I used the toast notifications for (I typically get several PMs every day now, and it was very handy to get a notification and preview of them without needing to check the website).
Oh well... anybody know who might be responsible for this, and could possible get it working again? Aside from lacking the notifications, the app is great.
The WP7 app was written by someone from http://www.pocketpc.ch/forum/ but I can't find any reference or app thread on that forum The only one thing I've found: official app is a special version of Board Express application, you may try Board Express forum: http://www.board-express.com/forum/index.php
It's not available on Play Store yet, least not in my country, and found the apk elsewhere, so thought about sharing it.

Regarding K-9 Mail 4.4 Mass Deletes
Hi,
I have used K-9 for the past year for all of my email accounts.. and it was fine. One feature that I particularly liked was the ability to hold down the mail entry.. and press Select, which enabled you to label items you planned to mass delete, without opening all of the emails in your folder.
With 4.4 I cannot find that feature any longer, and I find that the app now takes up considerably more memory, causing it to work very slowly.
Unless I can get around the Mass Delete and memory issue, I will have to remove K-9 from my HTC EVO 4G phone.
Is anyone aware of a workaround for these issues?

I am having issues with the frequent wake up of the program in order to look for incoming message, although i have the "poll frequency" in never and push notifications enabled. Does anyone else have the same issue or is there something that needs to be done in the settings? The version is 4.803 - thanks.

Since it is still an alpha version, i don't know whether it is stable and as i use this for my office e-mails I am a bit reluctant to try...have you tried it?
Yes, and I haven't found major issues in daily use yet.
Finally I installed it also, but i think it was not better than the previous version...it was also a bit larger file, therefore i reverted back to the previous one. Do you have any suggestions for the push/poll settings in case i am doing something wrong there?
For me, default settings work (if not battery-friendly though). Sorry. :/

The battery-friendly settings is what i was trying to find, but i can live with this i suppose!!:good:
K9 seems to not be waking up my phone to poll email.
It is set to poll every 15 minutes but only polls when the screen is on. If screen is off for longer than 15 mins then it will poll as soon as the screen is turned on as if it is been forced to wait.
Is it possible greenify breaks k9? (I havent greenified the app).

Wondering if anyone can help me fix this issue. Only started occurring today for some reason after a reboot.
Basically I'm logged in to XDA with the app, however I can't reply or view notifications etc as it comes up with an error "security error (user may not have permission to access this feature)"
The same error occurs when I try with tapatalk.
Strangely though I'm still getting notifications like before, I just can't view them when I open the apps.
I can log in with no problems using tapatalk on my iPad and using web browser.
Tried clearing cache, reinstalling apps, wiping app data and reboot with no success.
Is there any way to get these working again?
Also, this doesn't happen when I'm on wifi. I searched these forums and google and found one post from 2011 saying to uncheck 3g compatibility in settings but I can't find that setting anywhere in the app or in general phone rings

Same issue, i thought at first it may have been redirects through tapatalk servers breaking. Disabled those, with crappalins. After doing that it persisted and then found links from 2012/13 where the problem existed and they said that any links that involved search would be disabled via applications to help server load(as they were under heavy load)
I can't confirm as nobody else is talking about it but I'm still effected on/off. Hard linked threads like "Q&A" of any given device will work but things that require a search like "participated" for your username don't generally work.
Not a solution, but sharing of sufferage.

Do you also have the same problem with the XDA app? I find it really strange that this behaviour occurs over 2 apps.
It's also started occurring intermittently now ; may work completely fine for 3 days then it breaks for a couple of days.
I don't use XDA app but it's not the app. All times I've read of it both apps are effected. Its server side whether mobile portal overload or intentional dispersement of traffic by server Admins.

I have a somewhat similar problem, I can't seem to use this app while on my home wifi, but if I connect to my mobile network (Verizon) the app loads and works perfectly. My home wifi always causes the app to say failure to load, even though everything else with my home wifi works. Ive tried clearing data, uninstalling/reinstalling. No luck.

First of all, you revived a thread from 2014 lol.

I use Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C that is rooted and running official marshmallow. All was going well for 6-7 months. But suddenly I am not getting push notification from the facebook app for the last month. The only time I am getting push notification from the facebook app when I try to login from another browser and a code is needed from code generator. Push notification from other apps, email, instagram etc are working. I have tried clearing data of the app, turning off platform, uninstalling greenify. Butnothing worked. What to do now? Please help.
Hi there so generally the facebook app is unliked around here because it takes up a huge amount of RAM. Many people here prefer to use an alternate client for facebook I've heard of some I think you should try some out if you feel you have done everything to activate push notifications. No, I don't have another android device. When I use swipe pro, push notification works in that app. and in facebook app itself, for code generator notification and someone is live notification, push notification works immediately. Someone told me that this is facebook's problem. He faced the same problem. After his reporting for 2 times to facebook, they resolved it some days later.
Then you should probably contact Facebook if its a problem on their end that way you can now for sure if you can fix it.
