Hi! I want to replace the stock firmware of my Xperia Tipo with a good rom, and I ask you if there are some tricks (like installing Bravia Engine ecc) which increase performance.
Thank you!
1. Sorry to say this is the wrong forum. You need to begin a thread in the Q&A section.
2. You ask the most dangerous question on XDA ever! Asking what the best ROM is, is like asking if the PS3 or the XBOX 360 is better. Both have their positives and.negatives. The same applies to ROM's. All have different awesome features.
Look into a few ROM's and in the features, and see what fits you the best.
Hope that clears it up!

Sorry for wrong forum!
I agree with you, so I'll change my question: I'm looking for a rom without bugs and which is smoother than the stock firmware. CM10 is good for this?
Another simple request: do you recommend me Riches Kernel? Are there bugs?
Thank you for help!

You're always safe with CyanogenMod. And Richie's kernel has no bugs as far as I know(I do not own the Tipo). It has stable overclocking and GPU overclocking.
Try CM10 with Richie's kernek and see if you like it .
Have a nice day!

Hey Guys. How Are You All.Ok now my question may seem nasty to some but i really need your advice.im searching for a rom froyo,gb jb i dont mind all i want from it is that
1.it should be lag free hence must have good speed(overclocked).
2.i want to do intensive gaming on it so it should support fimg and all and ofcourse chainfire3d.
3.battery life should be good and it should be stable.
4.if it will have gb or jb looks it would be cool
I know im asking too much but still............:silly:
Most obvious choice acc. to my above needs will be a froyo rom now the question is what will it be????
Awaiting your replies and thanks in advance
If cm6.2 rom is completely ported, i'm sure you can enjoy all that you've mentioned.

I think he means that if cm6.2 has a complete stable build your wishes can be fulfilled. But atm it doesnt.
For gaming I think froyo is the best. Cm7 + Will work on selective games only

Sorry for cluttering this up with such a basic question, but I have no idea what to do. I'm a total newbie to this and there are like fifty thousand ROMs to choose from in the ROM section.
I'm just looking for something clean and simple which will minimize battery usage as much as possible and possible speed things up. I wanted to use NeatROM, but it doesn't look like you can use it on the Skyrocket.
Thanks for any help!
No best ROM thread. Just read, read again, and read one more time then nandroid, then start flashing have to learn on your own at somepoint. I.e. start with slimbean then work your way down to others
+1. And do a lot of reading first. Only flash roms you find in the i727 xda development forum. Neat rom is not one of them and you most likely will brick your phone flashing the wrong rom.

Ok great thanks... guess I'm off to do some reading .

Oh ya random question... can the ROM affect the quality of music playback?
Yes it can and the best one IMHO for that is CyanogenMod. Do not try beats audio drivers, they make it sound bad. And CM has a DSP app that handles sound for you. Any other suggestions from anyone else to help our new friend decide?

Ah ok great thanks.
I was considering CyanogenMod, UCM1, and SlimBean... so maybe I'll just go with CyanogenMod. I listen to music all the time so I want something decent.

Hello everyone....I'm not a great developer...yet I never saw a thread in this forum about the possibilities of dual boot...
Can some experts take this seriously..
Wouldn't it be freaking cool to select an os from start-up..
Two os installed and the user chooses the one he wants...like cm10 and stock...
Any ideas or possibilities???
Hope this isn't a foolish.question
Hit the thanks button..it does not cost you anything.
it's worth something for me...

i did this question before some months to rachit (kernel development)...i dont remember his answer (search to original dev>rachit thread) its possible to make a dualboot (a lot of mobiles custom kernels support it)....i would like to learn how to build a kernel from source or to make my own but i dont find a thread for it (if you know any thread or anyone else know something please pm me the thread or post it here)...

it's possible and there's a lot of method to do that. you don't have to build a kernel to do it. you can do it by simply modify the ramdisk.

Hello,
My GF have Jlo, and she want to have fast and smooth phone good for daily using. I can't test all roms, becuase i haven't this phone for all day.
This is reason why i create this thread, which rom you recommend
Sigh. Comparing ROMs isn't allowed on XDA. All developer work hard to supply us with great ROM s, tools, etc.
Read the comments.
Small tip: Cyanogenmod has never let me down
Success.

does Dalvik/Bionic optimization make the device actually faster!
and so should i download a deodexed stock rom or odexed will do?
i have been through but no one there has actually been able to prove the performance boost without benchmarks and there is no way to even recognize the modification it does!
