LG G3 vs. Galaxy S5-which one to get? - General Questions and Answers

I am torn with this upgrade choice. I'm lookin forward to both phones but IDK whether the S5 or the G3 is the better choice.
BG: I've had a Galaxy S3 since shortly after launch, and I do like how easily one can find accessories, it has enterprise ability should I get the right job, and nearly all major apps work on their devices. But I cannot stand BloatWiz I mean TouchWiz, its terrible battery life, lame and useless apps which eat up space. Also, the S5 will not have 2k screen or 8-core in the US. I like a lotta LG's new stuff, even its UI is way better than BloatWiz. The G3 is also gonna have 2K and an octacore here which makes it appeal to me. But I hear that its cpu will therefore be proprietary, n IDK how good that is. Also IDK how they are on OTAs.
Which one should I get? Which one will you get?

[Q] New phone imminent, need advice.

Well, in 3 months time runs out my contract and i'd be happy to retire my HTC Touch Pro by replacing it with one of these:
HTC (Google) Nexus One
HTC Desire
or
Samsung Galaxy S.
For now for some reason i'm leaning towards Samsung.
Been watching/reading loads of reviews of all three phones.
My question is - why NOT to have a Samsung Galaxy S ?
I'm not trolling, this is a genuine question that needs answering before 2-3 months run out.
I know the main attraction of HTC phones (XDA-Dev rom cooking ), not sure how Samsung fares in this field.
Any thoughts on all of the above ?
Well, Samsung certainly has its fair share of Rom chefs. SDX-Developers is probably the biggest forum concerning such things if you didn't know.
Personally, I love the Galaxy S line. Super Amoled, great processor and video performance, camera... what's not to love?
Not much I can say negative of the line at all... Great choice IMO.
Sorry if I'm not being critical enough .

[Q] Prons of samsung smartphones ?

i just want to purchase new smartphone and my query is i want to buy nexus s but on internet i read lot of users review against samsung phones i don't know why so i write this to here so pls help me should i go for samsung nexus s or htc desire hd pls pls reply my post why people not like samaung phones despite Samsung has best display technology super amoled and hummingbird processor which is best then why it is poor rated by user.which phone should i buy nexus s or desire hd.
PLS REPLY TO THIS THREAD I HAVE POST LOT OF THREAD BUT NO ONE REPLY MY THREADS.THIS IS A BEST PLACE TO KNOW ABOUT SMARTPHONES THATS WHY I CAME HERE HOPE I GET MY ALL QUESTIONS ANSWER THIS TIME
Err, you do know that caps lock is one of the easiest ways to encourage folk to troll/flame you, right? You may wish to lay off of that or cut back on your caffeine in the future.
That being said, yes, there are complaints about the way Samsung did a few things with the galaxy S line, like using a terrible file format system and neglecting to use working GPS hardware. However, I can tell you that my Focus is really fantastic to use, and is working great, so I'd imagine that the upcoming Nexus S will work great as well. As always, pay attention to the bits of reviews that talk about the parts that are important to you, instead of blindly following the overall opinions of another gadget fanboy. The smartphone is one of the most personal items you will ever own, and you need to make sure that you are looking for what matters to you.
My friend pl
U can use YouTube for comparison of both phones.it will give u more info and I Think GPS problem is only thing to bother with nexus s otherwise best phone IMHO
lg optimus one
Most negative things about Samsung has to do with their slow or lack of ability to update their devices. I have a Samsung Epic and love it. Now the Nexus S is a different breed from the other Galaxy S line up in the update department because Google is in charge of rolling out updates to it. It will be among, if not first, to receive updates to the OS. So that being said, Samsung and their ability to not roll out updates will not effect the Nexus S. You should be happy with the Nexus S, untill dual core processors come out next year such as the LG Star.
Sent from my shoe, I mean....Epic shoe... I mean Samsung Epic! http://mobilehighway.blogspot.com/
Worst experience with the galaxy S is that hummingbird processor of theres is screwy. I work for T-mobile and have a friend who works for verizon. We both have people come in all the time talking about their phone running very slowly. It seems like the buffer is overrunning and sadly Samsung expects people to ride em down til they're non-functional before they'll replace that. Hummingbird is certainly not the best, it's as unstable as they come. That and the lack of updates but since the Nexus S is a google phone you wont have to worry bout that part
It simply comes down to the lack of updates. I currently own the Fascinate (only Samsung product I own) and have been happy with it other than the inexistent to no support for this phone.
I just take it as a lesson and not upset at all. I've already moved on to other products other than Samsung and will never buy another product from them again. Live and learn I guess.

The Pron you can get on samsung is of the same quality that you get on other phones. Cheap, nasty and badly acted. In other words 5 stars.

Is it worth getting the new Galaxy 3?

I have the Vibrant, I'm using an ICS ROM. 4.0.4.
I don't use my phone for a lot of web browsing, more or less social things and games. I'm sort of sore on flashing new ROM's though I LOVE exploring them all!
For people already using a Galaxy, what would be your pro's and con's?
I've looked into the phone and it sounds amazing, dual-core snapdragon, stock 4.0.4, it looks to be as big as the Galaxy s II and a nice AMOLED screen.
Has anyone used one of these guys yet? How do you like it? Does it live up to your expectations?
There are some fantastic new features. A colleague tried one for an hour last weekend and his questions to me was 'why can't we have these at work' we currently have S2's
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I really like the whole "Sharing" thing between Galaxy III's.
Did your work pay for the S2's? That's very nice of them!
I wasn't impressed enough (compared to my Vibrant.) to spend the extra money upgrading an S2, but the SIII really has my attention.
I'm contemplating it very hard. Through my carrier I think it's going to be $280 before extra fee's though..that's pricey especially since the first I paid $250 and received a $50 MIR. :/
Coming from a Vibrant..definitely should upgrade. If you had an S2 or something comparable, it wouldn't be worth it unless you could get a really good deal.
Thank you lowandbehold. I feel a tad better about my wants. I was hoping it wasn't just because it was new. The hardware upgrades them self already make my giddy/
Although the Galaxy III is a killer in terms of performance and software features, which make it highly desirable especially for people who have an old smartphone, you should also take the upcoming iPhone 5 into consideration.
Another phone worth checking out is the HTC one X. Although not superior in performance compared to the GIII, it has a lot of notable features and shoots photo's fast due to it's fast camera processor.

Though the camera supports 1080P at 30FPS on the Samsung Galaxy S3 while the HTC One X doesn't. I would say get the Galaxy S3, the iPhone screen just seems tiny to me after having the Galaxy S3 since launch.
The iPhone 5 might be worth waiting out for if you have the patience to wait. Apparently Foxconn's CEO said the next iPhone "will put Samsung’s Galaxy III to shame."

Lol, doubt it
Thank you for your suggestion, however I am not an iPhone person and I don't believe T-Mobile will be getting the iPhone5. Or at least there's no official word on it. Just hopeful reports of people stating that 'It could happen! Maybe..'
I just love the android's platform and it's lack of boundaries. I've also heard rumor of some Android's having a "Flash Counter" that count the number of times you've actually flashed the phone, and because of it the warranty won't be active. (Like the Galaxy Note supposedly has one.) I could also be wrong since I haven't looked into this. On that note, I don't believe they'll be implementing this feature into the SnapDragon CPU's. However correct me if I'm wrong! I'm very much a phone newbie.
My friend owns a One X while another has the new Razr Maxx.
Since they aren't brand new I'm curious as to switching to those guys..it would be cheaper however have the same quality as the S3?
I've been with Samsung for 8 years now and they haven't let me down.
So loyalty stays with Samsung for their phones.

Phone Comparison Questions

Some background: I currently have Sprint, own a Nexus S 4G (yes, its def showing its age...), loving stock android 4.2.2 (rooted and have rasbeanjelly installed). I hate custom UI's (Touchwiz and Sense, for example), so any phone that's not stock android will be rooted so that I do get stock look. I also will want to be able to root and put on TWRP or CWM and the possibility of a different ROM, so being able to do that is a must... So I will be switching to Verizon in the next few months coming up and now that it seems that all the big boys are out for the year, the biggest question comes out... Which phone?
Ive been reading alot of reviews and articles and such stuff on phonearena.com and have found that the best phones for Verizon right now are the following:
Galaxy S4
HTC One
LG G2
Moto X
Droid Maxx
So that's alot of phones, right? So I decided to come up with a chart with specs and read some more reviews and comparisons to help limit it down a bit and here's what I limited it down to:
Galaxy S4
Moto X
*Note: I have smaller hands, so the G2 didn't appeal to me, regardless of its great reviews. the S4 is cutting it close, but seems the Moto X is most comfortable overall.
Now the comparisons I found on these two are that obviously the S4 is beefier in the hardware dept as far as speed and the screen, but... Touchwiz... Enough said. Because of that, I read that the Moto X runs smoother and quicker. Problem is, I won't be keeping Touchwiz and I am trying to find a comparison between the two phones with the S4 not running Touchwiz on it. Like the Google Edition, for example, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Anyone have any thoughts, point me somewhere or best of all, hands on experience? As of right now, Im leaning towards the Moto X...
Thanks in advance.

what devise to buy.

i have galaxy s4 and i want to buy a new phone. can you please help which to choose :
1) htc one (M8)
2) lg g3
3) xperia z2
4) galaxy s5
lg g3
Its hav a high res display and gd camera...
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app
Thanks..and about htc one (m8 ) do you know if its a good phone?
They are all great phones, it honestly depends on what you are looking for the most, i imagine all of them have amazing cameras, they all try to aim for that, probably the phone with the best camera would be a HTC m8 or lg g3, the g3 is supposed to shoot 2k pictures/videos but im not quite sure, the g3 is supposed to have a superb Screen, not that the other phones wouldn't have great screens but the G3 has a 2k resolution screen which must be nice. the xperia z3 is coming out (or is already out) so i would get that over a z2, Sony phones have waterproof coating and are made for durability, i dont know much on the z3 since its a little newer you would have to do research on that, if its performance you want either a m8 or a Galaxy s5 would be perfect. anyways, thats all i have to say about the devices, if you have any questions please reply back!
all you say it was very useful...so i decide tha the best option is lg g3..but i am confused.i never have buy any iphone,i always have galaxy but the loose their price very fast as lg.on the other hand with iphone you don't have this problem and if you can sell it you can achieve a high price. So now I wondered between iphone 5s and lg g3 which is better?
you what will choose? thanks a lot

the reason why iphones sorta keep their price is because you are paying for "Premium" Design basically from the Greedy people at apple, think of macbooks vs pcs, macbooks are going to be more because they are one of a kind, there are lots of different windows computers that you might or might not like, so iphones are one of a kind and are not in huge bulk as android is.
