[Q] GT-I9502 Messed it up.. HELP! - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
Being a newbie to this flashing thing. I rooted/SUsered and I had Google Apps running ok on 4.2.2 Android happily on this GT-i9502 from China...
Then I decided to try and update to 4.3. Dumb.
It's current state is: If I try to re install 4.3 latest factory stock in Odin 3.07 it fails at SYSTEM bit. then I have to put CWM back onto it to get it to do anything again (It goes into that yellow triangle screen only.)
I've tried wiping cache etc. But still no joy with Firmware restore from PC - Odin. I'm now in a cycle of Fail firmware restore then CWM to un-Brick it slightly… I can get into CWM but normal start up is just the China UNICOM splash screen then blank…
Also I might have formatted the data a few times…
I didn't do a back up of 4.2.2 either, I know I'm an idiot. :crying:
On the downloading screen in ODIN mode it says
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
WARRANTY BIT: 1
Have I really messed it up?
Also if I try to install 4.2.2 official stock again it says: Unsupported Version
What can I try next? Flashtool?
Thanks
D

Help please! Root

Hi guys, I just got a new Note. I was able to flash CWM Recovery using odin. After this, I flashed the stock recovery and booted it up. I tried updating the software via OTA, but after it reboots trying to update, it says update failed. It fails at 24% when the android symbol comes up after booting
Please help me
no help yet??
I'd bet $100 you didn't reset flash counter before flashing stock recovery....
Agree.
U have to reset counter, flash back stock recovery.
OTA is urs.
Sent from N7105, at the corner of this rounded earth.
Most curious. AFAIK, OTA's will fail without stock recovery.
It seems the OTA's check for root or altered rom files, this has been my experience anyway, and if found to have been altered fails....

Help with returning Galaxy Note 10.1 to Stock.

Okay here is the long drawn out story....
Got impatient for JB 4.1.2 to roll out and flashed the German GT-N-8010 4.1.1 onto device....ran great.
Now I want to get my device back to GT-N8013 4.1.2. so here is what I've done.
Flashed via Odin ICS 4.0.4, then rooted installed triangle reset device.
Now first I tried to flash KIES_HOME_N8013UEUCMA3_N8013XARCMA3_813049_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 however everytime I flash it via Odin it fails and I have to go back to 4.0.4 KIES_HOME_N8013UEALI3_N8013XARALI3_1081475_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 Now when I check my status after reflashing 4.0.4 I'm back to custom custom instead of all stock????
So now I tried this....I flashed 4.0.4, rooted, triangled and checked status...all was back to stock. Re-flashed 4.0.4 to kill the root, when I registered for software updates it tells me I'm custom and cannot get updates????
What am I doing wrong? I'm beyond frustrated right now. I have the latest ROM's but I cannot flash via Odin 4.1.2 as it fails everytime. How do I get this done and back to stock running 4.1.2 Please someone guide me like I'm 4

To my knowledge :
0- full reset and wipe cache
1- root your device
2- install samsung galaxy s CSC and use it to change your CSC to your country or the one you want to get updates from
3- triangle away to make sure to rest the counter
4- download the firmware you need again , maybe from another server and make sure it is fully downloaded
5- try it with another version of odin , and make sure to turn kies off ,and make sure you have latest drivers installed .

Why do you need to change the CSC? E.g. I'm using UK stock JB ROM deodexed, does it mean the region has been changed to the UK? Where else can I download the firmware? I'm in Malaysia and can't find the firmware for download.
had the same scenario....german 4.1.1.....i downgraded to the official 4.0.4 (had to wipe cash and restore device during that process as it got stuck at logo)....then rooted, triangle away, all was stock......then waited for ota update.....nd now i have 4.1.2 all stock

Cannot unroot N8010

Hi,
I am currently having trouble unrooting my N8010 Note.I did the method of downloading stock ROM and flashing it in Odin PDA tab.Everything went successfully with the green success message. However when it reboots, instead of a new clean factory ROM,it is still my current ROM with all the apps and wallpaper still present.but when i opened Adaway,it says that SU binary not found??which means root is not present??
Upon checking download mode:
Custom binary download: No
Current binary: Samsung Official
System status: Custom
I retried reflashing 3x..still the same, I cannot get a fresh stock ROM...Help??
If it says the su binary cant be found then you have unrooted. but if you have a custom recovery its not going to be official.
The most reliable method ive found to get it all to stock and official is: root your device, use odin to flash the stock recovery. use triangle away to reset counter (thats why you need root). boot into recovery and factory wipe. use odin to flash stock image. should be totally stock like the day you bought it.
There are other ways but this has never failed for me
Hi,

You need Triangle Away .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
I now have problems rooting..
When i re-root using cf auto root..everything well smoothly..BUT there is no SuperSU.I also can't download it off playstore as it is always loading and loading.Cant check for root access too!!
In summary:
-Tried to unroot by flashing stock ROM,however Stock ROM did not get installed, instead still current ROM and lost root in the process
-Rerooted now triangle-away but same as above:
Custom binary download: No
Current binary: Samsung Official
System status: Custom
Must i do anything to make it back to official before reflashing stock ROM?Or flashing a stock ROM will make the it back to Official?
Run TA
Reboot flash stock rom via Odin
Factory reset
Flash stock rom again if the two indicators are modified

[Q] Note 10.1 (N8000) cannot upgrade to KitKat, Odin, KIES and OTA fails

Hello everyone
So, I fixed the problem of my tablet being bricked by installing the factory stock 4.0.4 ROM on it, and it has been my go-to resolution for the past couple of days, while I have been struggling to get the upgrade I have been waiting for, for so long.
However, no matter what I seem to do, my device just will not accept the upgrade, and I cannot understand why. Here is what I have done.
Number 1
My android was running a stock 4.1.2 downloaded from Sammobile. I am not sure of the country/region I downloaded at the time, but I think it was either German or from the U.K. I bought my N8000 in China and flashing the firmware to get access to Google stuff was the first thing I did and then upgraded via Sammobile, formerly samfirmware I think. When I saw the 4.4.2 KitKat on Sammobile I downloaded the German upgrade, flashed via Odin like I always had done, and it failed.
I then went on to try via KIES and it did say, that a firmware upgrade was available, however it got stuck and my device bricked. Which led to my 2-day marathon flashing of roms to try and fix it.
Number 2
Flashed the factory 4.0.1 rom using ODIN 1.83, factory reset + cache wipe and then Odin flash the 4.4.2 - Failed in ODIN.
Number 3
Flashed the factory 4.0.1 rom using ODIN 1.83, factory reset + cache wipe and then - Used OTA from settings to upgrade my device. This works until 4.1.2 and then I am told that my device has been modified and that no upgrades are available.
I then try to Odin Flash the Indian 4.4.2 from Sammobile - Failed in Odin
Number 4
Flashed the factory 4.0.1 rom using ODIN 1.83, factory reset + cache wipe and then OTA to 4.1.2. Then I connect to KIES to download the firmware upgrade and it fails and device bricks.
Number 5
Flashed the factory 4.0.1 rom using ODIN 1.83, factory reset + cache wipe and then OTA to 4.1.2. Then I root the device with Framaroot and install triangle away and use the system status modification to trick my tablet into thinking, or realizing, that it is in fact an official.
The OTA upgrade is now available, 800MB downloaded and installation begins, but the process fails and I am left in 4.1.2. I try again, same result. I flash via Odin, it fails, I try Kies it bricks.
Is it just me or is my tablet actively fighting me on this?
Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions? China is not exactly full of Samsung Service Centers, although I am sure a big city like Chongqing has one or two?

[Q] fused 2 binary 1 error, nothing helps

hi all,
sprint samsung galaxy s5, SM-G900P user. turn on phone, get a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." error. here's what the rest of the screen says:
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900P
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
CURRENT SYSTEM: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK (KK): OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0xl (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T2, R1, A2, P1
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
VOC START
this error came about as i was trying to install the custom ROM MOAR here. didnt know that 5.0 android version = having OA6 so i was trying to install that per the thread's instructions. so that messed up somehow and i get the above error. download mode works, recovery mode does not.
tried a number of solutions, including the Kies thing, said that my device was not supported. also tried flashing OA6 stock firmware i believe? not too familiar w the shorthand, just got this phone yesterday. i upgraded the phone when i got it so i am 99% sure it's on 5.0, and i read that this error can be received by trying to downgrade back to an earlier android version / firmware, but as far as i know i've been trying to flash the stock 5.0 firmware. whenever i tried Odin'ing the firmware, i get a fused 2 > binary 1 error. i am downloading earlier firmwares to try to Odin those and see if it helps but I'm really at a loss here. i read that as long as download mode still works there is hope left for me and I'm hoping that's true. please help me at all if you can.

I suspect your phone has been updated to the new build ending in OD3. What that means is that you can not downgrade the firmware. I have read of people successfully installing MOAR via custom recovery but there is no need to downgrade the firmware to OA6. If you can still get into Download Mode, you "may" be able to use Odin (not Kies) and install a custom recovery such as TWRP or Philz and immediately boot into in to Recovery. You will need to copy the MOAR installer to an extSD card prior to doing this. Make sure to read the OP's for both MOAR and the MOAR FAQ where you'll find links to everything you need.

i flashed the latest version of TWWP and had auto-reboot enabled, and my phone booted into the stock ROM. do you think i should still try to install MOAR or just leave my phone alone? im not new to ROMs in general, i came from a heavily messed with S3, but this problem kinda freaked me out. also, my phone is indeed on OD3. thank you so much for your help!
edit: also, can i still install MOAR if i am on OD3?

Yes you can, just don't try to download the bootloader. See if you can get into TWRP, it may have gotten over written by stock. If it did, use Odin to reinstall twrp but turn off auto reboot in Odin and immediately go into twrp manually. Make sure you have MOAR installer on your phone beforehand.
