Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that happens as a result of flashing these files. Your destiny is your own.
What is Radio Firmware?
It is the software responsible for your mobile phone signal and on older devices may control wifi, bluetooth, and GPS (on most newer devices, these are handled by the kernel and ROM).
Flashing an alternative Radio / Modem firmware may improve (or diminish) battery performance, network signal strength, and roaming capability. Stock Kernels are provided here as a backup; the real performance gains are found in custom kernels.
Flashing Dual Sim radios onto a Single Sim device or vice-versa may result in a permanent brick. Likewise, CDMA radios are only for those devices. Be careful.
I've created this thread to collect flashable images of Stock Radios / Kernels for Moto G. All images are flashable with CWM / TWRP.
If you can help; please upload your dumped firmware images (compressed) and I will create a flashable zip. When posting, state: Model (XT10XX), Android version, Country, Baseband version and current Firmware (i.e Carrier or Retail) and in the case of kernels: version info.
Firmware Dumping Methods: *ROOT REQUIRED*
When you type 'su' using either method, you need to grant the permission popup that will appear on your phone.
Radio:
(1) Terminal on handset: Install Terminal from Google Play and run the following command:
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
(2) ADB on PC:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
Kernel:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/kernel.img
Follow one of these threads to get ADB working:

Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk
The intention is to create recovery flashable zips using a partition dump of actually installed firmware rather than created from stock firmware files (NON-HLOS.bin/fsg.mbn) which I have found do not work properly.
The zips would currently only contain a dumped .img of the modem partition. From my experience with previous phones flashing this partition was enough. FSG can be dumped also if necessary.
EDIT:
It turns out that the "fsg" and the "backup" partitions are meant to take copies of the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions - this can be done/forced by executing "reboot nvbackup" in terminal or with adb. So these partitions are meant to hold the backups of modemst1 and modemst2.

Just to clarify; your sig says Dual Sim, but the radio from XT1032 Single Sim? XT1033 is the Dual Sim model.

I flahsed the XT1032 Stock ROM because I don't use the second SIM and the icons and incompatibility with GravityBox activates my OCD lol ...
It would be helpful if you can state what Stock ROM image you used? Claro / Nextel / Vivo or Retail.

You run the command when phone is in Android and with USB Debugging enabled under Settings > Developer options.
ADB instructions added to OP. If you need a full ADB guide. search XDA. Thanks for helping.
Two quick Questions
1. are radios carrier specific I would have thought Phone type and location only.
2. have gpe on my uk 1032 and flashed ( 340.63.00R - Vodafone UK) but to be honest can find no difference not quite what I expected.

Yeah, that's the question. If we base things on version number, ignoring the end letter; I suspect the radio firmware will be identical regardless of source. However why not collect them all just to be thorough and to allow for the possibility of carrier specific changes.

6.2mb larger than any other radio so far. I wonder what is different.
EDIT: Flashed fine to UK handset. Curiously, seems to fix a delay I was having when using "OK Google" hotword search. Signal strength also seems to have improved. Will report back if this is actually the case.

Yesterday German retail got an OTA. It´s some 7,5MB only and fixes OTG USB storage and some other minor things. Don´t know if there´s something for the radio, but I doubt so.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648590
Edit: actually it includes some modem parts.
Edit2: don´t know if it isn´t placebo but I agree "Ok, Google" seems to react faster now.

The last stock ROM I had used was 174 something and I'm still at 340.63.00R. So it must have been updated during the last two updates.
Will it break compatibility with any custom ROM if I flash a new radio?

In my experience there shouldn't be a problem. Also worth noting flashing custom ROMs generally does not change the radio; that's a separate partition.

Well if someone wants to make a dump, here is the command: (Only Stock kernel please, Custom kernels already have threads)
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/kernel.img

They 'delay' I was referring to was between hotword activation and the point where 'listening' for a command would begin. It was very obvious and it has now gone.

Stock Motorola KitKat ROM Collection
The goal here is to offer easily flashable versions of Stock Motorola ROMs. They should work with any Custom Recovery.
The collection will ONLY consist of Android 4.4.4 (or newer) KitKat ROMs due to the "Battery Loss Bug" present in older versions. Additionally, 4.4.4 includes the Heartbleed security fix.
If you would like to further optimize these ROMs, check out my Debloat Scripts.
First boot can take a while, don't panic.
Untouched Version:
Nothing removed, nothing added. Pure Stock.
Optimized Version:
Stock Kernel
Debloated [Removed Files] (Motorola apps still available in Play Store)
Zipaligned
Rooted
Busybox
ART | MultiROM compatible
How to flash:
1) Boot into latest TWRP and Format Data (Wipe > Format DATA > Yes) - This step is essential, and will wipe Internal Storage (Downloads, Music, Photos etc, **backup important files**)
2) Transfer ROM to Internal Storage. This may be done in Windows via MTP, or using adb sideload or adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/
3) TWRP > Wipe > Factory reset and flash ROM.
4) Reboot.
NB #1: If you experience 'Settings' force-close; flash a 4.4.4 Radio from here.
NB #2: Gapps isn't necessary as Google Play Store is still present - Login and download your apps.
NB #3: If you get an 'encryption' message with GPe ROMs - Flash a 4.4.4 Stock Kernel or custom Stock-compatible Kernel (Faux, Phantom or XPerience)

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is this Collection?
All of these ROMs are created from the Motorola Factory Firmware images. A pure source, unlike a dump of an OTA Updated system; the upgrading process patches, moves or deletes system files. The result is possibly bugs being introduced, and files being left over. These ROMs are completely clean, and any bugs you find are genuine Android issues.
Why is 'Battery Saver Mode' missing in Optimized ROM?
This feature is part of MotoCare which is removed during the 'debloating' process. There are many Battery Saver apps available; try DS Battery Saver.
Why is the 'clear all' button missing in 'Recents'?
This is also a feature of MotoCare. One solution is to install Xposed Framework and the GravityBox module. Setting is under 'Miscellaneous Tweaks.'
Tell me about Google Play Edition (GPe) and F2FS filesystem?
F2FS was created at Samsung in 2013 for use on Linux-based operating systems. As its name implies, Flash-Friendly File System is a file system designed specifically to cater to the specific characteristics of NAND-based storage devices.
GPe uses EXT4 filesystem for the 'userdata' partition. All other models of Moto G use F2FS.
If you have converted your Moto G to GPe using one of the available tutorials, you probably have formatted your 'userdata' partition to 'EXT4.'
Not only does this make the phone incompatible with Stock Motorola ROMs and custom ROMs / Kernels - some people also believe it affects performance. TWRP custom recovery has an option to reformat your device back to F2FS:
WARNING: This will erase 'internal storage' including photos, music, videos. (Backup ROM zip and important files to external storage via USB OTG cable)
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Repair or Change File System > (select 'Data') > Change File System > (choose F2FS)It is possible to use GPe ROMs with a F2FS formatted 'userdata' partition. See note under 'How to Flash' above.

hi cheers for this
tried the optimized xt1032 rom - does not seem to be rooted, SU app does not work for example
I just wanted to ask
in the framework folder there are files .odex why?
This already deodex?
Help
Installed XT1033 version and got stuck in Android logo, since I cannot mount USB through CWM or TWRP I cannot install any other ROM, any ideas?
MIrror links mega not working
dual sim optimised please
This looks damn awesome, but as we know there are no multilanguage support in stock ROMs.
Are there more languages in these zip files?
Please bear with me, this was my first attempt at creating a ROM.

I used a kitchen for this, and it looks like not everything was deodexed. But most files have been. I'll try again shortly.

I'm assuming you flashed the 'Optimized' version. Have you waited long enough for first boot?
Other options:
Have you ADB / Fast boot setup? I'm not sure if it's the Kernel or something else. Either way, to recover, you can use fastboot to flash the stock firmware image. Alternatively, you can send this zip to internal SD via adb: adb push "Moto g XT1033 stock 4.4.zip" - Here is a zip for XT1033 stock kernel and modules.

Some countries block Mega. You need to use a proxy server to access the site. When the zips are confirmed working for everyone, maybe people will offer mirrors.
@lost101 I have converted my XT1033 into GPE, can I just flash the zip meant for dual SIM and go back to default ROM? It will save me a lot of time from all the fastboot flash hassle!

The conversion to GPE formatted your USERDATA partition to EXT4. You will have to change it back to F2FS which it was originally. PhilZ Touch Custom Recovery has an option for this.

How do you mean? There is multilingual support in Retail EU at least.

Well, my Moto G (XT1032) is from UK and its stock rom has only English and German languages
Does the optimized version change the recovery also?

The EU ROM has many, but I can look into adding one that is missing.

Recommended Settings:
All Animations speed: 0.5 (Changed via Developer options - see below)
Wi-Fi Sleep policy: Never. (Changed via Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced) - Check Battery stats occasionally | some Apps will force Wi-Fi to be always on
Bugs:
When flashing, I get the following: "E:Error executing updater binary in zip" or "Updater process ended with ERROR: 7"
This is a custom recovery bug. Try restarting recovery and flashing again. Alternatively you may need to format /data (userdata) in Custom Recovery. Note: This will delete anything on internal storage - photos, music, videos etc.
Why does my screen ripple | flicker?
This is due to compatibility issues between KitKat Bootloader and the Lollipop Kernel. Turn screen off once to fix. Upgrade Bootloader easily with: Bootloader Upgrader Tool
My Battery History shows Wi-Fi is constantly in use, even when turned off?
The issue appears to be due to certain apps are keeping Wi-Fi active in Lollipop. Solution here.
Why does Stock Kernel not idle at 300mhz?
There is a problem with the Stock Kernel included with 5.0.2, causing it to only idle at 787 mhz. A workaround is to install a Kernel Tweaker such as Trickster MOD or Device Control. Issue fixed in Optimized ROM v1.2 or newer.
'Emergency Calls Only' showing in status bar at odd times in Android 5.1?
This is a known bug in Android 5.1. Calls and data are unaffected.
I reduced brightness to 0 and got stuck with a black screen?
This appears to be a bug in 'Adaptive brightness.' Turning it off and on should stop this happening.
If you are in this situation, try shining a torch light on the screen at an angle to make out the very dim display. You can also try swiping down the 'quick toggle' notification menu and changing brightness via the sliding bar. [Source]
GPS has stopped working after flashing GPE ROM?
Flash the GPE 'no-GPS' fix via custom recovery. Alternatively, enter Fastboot mode and type the following commands:

GPE ROM gets stuck at boot logo?
/data needs to be formatted to ext4. If you change format to ext4, then wipe /data - it will revert back to f2fs - as that is the default for most recoveries. Check and recheck, before flashing the ROM to make sure /data is actually formatted to ext4. You can also try using the GPE version of TWRP. It will default to ext4.
More information below regarding GPE.
When I install Xposed Framework, Android reports "internal memory is full"?
After flashing the xposed-arm-*.zip in custom recovery - immediately choose 'Wipe Cache / Dalvik.'
Xposed Framework and Android 5.1
I cannot provide support for the use of Xposed Framework. It is still a highly experimental work-in-progress MOD with no official release.

Do I need to upgrade to Lollipop before flashing these ROMs?
No. You can go directly from any KitKat ROM. Simply factory reset in custom recovery and flash.
Do I need to downgrade to 4.4.4 before flashing these ROMs?
No. However an additional step is required if you are currently running a GPE ROM; see next question.
Can I flash the Stock ROMs if I'm GPE?
Stock Motorola ROMs require a F2FS 'userdata' partition. If you are GPE, or have ever been; you may need to convert to Stock. More info below.
How do I make Animations in Lollipop faster or turn them off?
Enable Developer options - repeatedly tap 'Build number' in About phone. Change the three 'Animation scale' settings to: .5x or off. "2.5x" is available if you have installed the Xposed Module known as GravityBox.
Will these ROMs get official Motorola OTA Updates?
Official Motorola OTA Updates have been disabled in all Optimized ROMs. The Untouched ROMs will certainly get a notification when a new OTA Update is available, however the official upgrade process has two key requirements:
1) An unmodified /system partition (Android must never have been rooted)
2) Stock Recovery
If your phone fails to meet either of these requirements; the update process will probably fail. If you absolutely must retain the ability to receive and apply official OTA Updates - then the only certain way is to flash the Factory Firmware Image for your model and never root or change recovery.
It should be noted that I have disabled OTA Updates in the Optimized ROMs because I consider them dangerous and messy. Q & A has many accounts of people very unhappy with the results of applying OTA Updates (bugs, crashes, poor performance) and a number of cases where the upgrade process has hard-bricked phones - effectively killing the device.
Newer Factory Firmware Images become available that incorporate all OTA Updates - and when possible I try to update ROMs based on those new Images.
How to enable 'Battery Saving Mode'?
Go to Settings > Battery > Press the three dots > Battery saver. You can choose to enable immediately or have it automatically turn on at a specified battery percentage. To noticeably improve Battery Life, flash one of the custom Stock Kernels available here.
Why can't I change Voicemail Number?
Solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60493182&postcount=1503
How to enable 'WCDMA only' data mode?
1) Dial: *#*#4636#*#*
2) Tap 'Phone information'
3) Scroll down to: Set preferred network type
4) Change to: WCDMA only
What is 'Zipaligining' | Post-install zipaligning?
Zipaligining
It makes apps use less RAM. Longer answer.
Post-install zipaligning
Newly installed apps are zip-aligned after reboot. This process occurs only once per app, as a database exists in /system/usr. When an app is updated, the new apk will also be zip-aligned and added to the database.
MultiROM is not working with these ROMs?
Currently, a custom Kernel is required. ATTACKED Custom Kernel will allow you to use Stock ROMs with MutliROM.
How to hide the Network | Carrier name in the status bar?
Settings > More > Mobile network > Show mobile network
How to turn off Lock-screen rotation?
This setting is a built.prop edit. Use a text editor with root access to open: /system/build.prop - remove the last line, or change to 'false':
lockscreen.rot_override=true
TWRP custom recovery has an option to choose the format:
WARNING: This will erase 'internal storage' including photos, music, videos. (Backup ROM zip and important files to external storage via USB OTG cable)
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Repair or Change File System > (select 'Data') > Change File System > (choose EXT4 for GPE or F2FS if returning to Motorola Stock)
Looking forward to them?

Good news !!!
If you release the untouched version for Brasil, can I flash it on my device with retail EU ?
Thanks !
These flashable zips are good because you don't need flash via fastboot or make a backup of current ROM.

Yes you can flash any ROM in this collection - 'Untouched' or 'Optimized' - on any model Moto G. I will be uploading 'Untouched' versions on Monday when I have access to a faster internet connection.
Ok, thanks.

Yes. Motorola Stock Kernel demands f2fs.
I can update my 1032 from 4.4.2 or from 4.4.4?
What is the situation if I wanted to go back to the kit kat? it is enough to install one of your 4.4.4 Rom collection?

To avoid problems, clean install is best. This is especially the case considering this is a major change to Android: 4.4.4 > 5.0.2. Some system files may not just be updated, moved to a new location or removed entirely. If you dirty flash, you could end up with duplicate files.
Ok I understand but do I need to install 4.4.4 (I still have 4.4.2) or wipe all enough? And what about going back to kit kat?
Hi, i wanted to know if anybody have the Retail US 4.4.4 firmware on xml.zip for the Moto G 2013 XT1032 (no gpe, lte, or something else, the normal one) i been searching for about 2 hours and only founded the 4.4.2, also, many thanks in advance <3
These are flashable in a custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688
You could also look here: http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27
A flashable 4.4.4 doesn't work because it will flash the gpt and motoboot and i've downgraded from lollipop and in the filefactory recopilation i founded 2 xt1032 REATIL US but don't know wich firmware it is:
1) US_retail_XT1032_14.10.0Q3.X-84-16_1FF.xml.zip
2) US_retail_XT1032_KXB20.9-1.8-1.4_CFC.xml.zip
This is the one I used on my Telus 7 GB xt1032: http://www.filefactory.com/file/2ed616pxnix7/RETAIL_XT1032_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.61_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
Many thanks bro, everything is working great, finally on 4.4.4!

Recommended Settings:
All Animations speed: 0.5 (Changed via Developer options - see below)
Wi-Fi Sleep policy: Never. (Changed via Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced) - Check Battery stats occasionally | some Apps will force Wi-Fi to be always on
Bugs:
When flashing, I get the following: "Error code 7" or "E:Error executing updater binary in zip"
This is a custom recovery bug. Try restarting recovery and flashing again. Alternatively you may need to:
TWRP > Wipe > Format Data > Yes
Note: This will delete anything on internal storage - photos, music, videos etc.
Why does my screen ripple | flicker?
This is due to compatibility issues between KitKat Bootloader and the Lollipop Kernel. Turn screen off once to fix. Custom stock kernels in the future will hopefully solve this.
My Battery History shows Wi-Fi is constantly in use, even when turned off?
The issue appears to be due to certain apps are keeping Wi-Fi active in Lollipop. Solution here.

Flashing Dual Sim radios onto a Single Sim device or vice versa may result in a permanent brick. Likewise, CDMA radios are only for those devices. Be careful.
While Lollipop includes a newer Radio Firmware; it is not essential to install it.
Why are these ROMs so small / missing apps?
Due to limited internal storage on Moto E, I have made the decision to remove many of the Google and Motorola apps. This both saves space and also avoids duplicate apps on your phone. All of these apps are available in Google Play Store.
How do I update to the Lollipop Radio Firmware?
Update your current Radio Firmware by downloading and extracting the correct file from OP, and using the following mFastboot commands: (Simply put all files together in same folder - SDK not required) (USB Drivers (Windows))
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
Related: Minimal ADB and Fastboot

I've corrected it now. Unsure if the Lollipop Kernel Sources are available for Moto E - that would be a requirement for custom stock-based Kernels. Only such Kernels will work with these ROMs, CM12 or AOSP Kernels will not.

How to format data/ user data in recovery? I formatted Dalvik, system, data, cache before installing the ROM.
Edit: found it and formatted now trying again to clean install.
Nope formatting user data in recovery is not helping either

Hello everyone. I'm planning to flash an official Lollipop ROM on my LG L Bello D331, and I have some questions before I proceed.
My current ROM details:
Model: D331
Android: 4.4.2
Version: V10f
Region: HUN
Link: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=54
File: D33110f_00.kdz
Size: 804 MB
New ROM details:
Model: D331
Android: 5.0.2
Version: V20c
Region: CIS
Link: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=54
File: D33120c_00.kdz
Size: 899 MB
Questions:
1. I'm currently on build V10f_EUR_XX. Will it change to V20c_CIS_XX, or simply update to V20c_EUR_XX? If the region changes from EUR to CIS, what will exactly be changed?
2. Since LG delivers their updates via IMEI check (regardless of the region), will I still be able to receive official OTA updates?
3. New ROM is provided for Russian region, and thus includes the Russian language. My current ROM also includes Russian, and almost every other European language. Does that mean I will have all European languages on the new ROM too?
4. Finally, and MOST important: Some early adopters flashed D335 Lollipop on their D331 devices, and now they can't flash back D331 ROMs because their D331 somehow "became" D335. Since I'm flashing a D331 ROM on a D331 device, will I be able to downgrade if neccessary - or I will be stuck on Lollipop too? Does it matter if my current ROM is rooted? Also, if the region changes to CIS, will it revert back to EUR?
Since Lollipop was released for D331 in Mexico (Telcel carrier), Turkey (Avea carrier) and CIS (unbranded Russian region), is there any chance other countries will receive it soon? I mean, D331 hardware is EXACTLY the same in all regions.
Thanks in advance!
