Hello,
I triad flashing the official GPE rom to my Moto G. It didn't boot, so I went into recovery.
Now I cannot mount /data and /sdcard. I tried both CWM and TWRP.
What can I do?
solved it by flashing the semi-official gpe images via fastboot

Did you flash all partitions, ie inc gpt.bin etc. I'm thinking of flashing official gpe to my UK moto g but want to make sure it works OK.

I flashed the zip via cwm.
Semi-official works perfect though.

This happens with my phone too (GPE) but phone is not bricked. Maybe you are trying to downgrade. Try to flash latest full fastboot firmware (4.4.4) with mfastboot.exe if you are using windows. You can find all information and programs in general section

How about the boot.img, is it the same in the latest full firmware or should I get it from OTA somehow? (Can't rebuild initrd in the dumped boot.img for some reason).
PS: this is about the 21.11.56.en.EU for XT1039 (21.11.56.peregrine_retgb.retgball.en.gb, kxb21.14-l1.56)
Please note that the latest 4.4.4 firmware images are no longer being uploaded to sbf.droid-developers.org.
It's better to check here: http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27 and read through the thread in OP for announcements about new firmware availability.
Be very careful with Fastboot commands and never 'fastboot erase all' or format random partitions.

OTA should be fine. The changes from 21.11.46 to 21.11.56 were mainly the SD card fixes. I flashed 21.11.46 and then received OTA update to 21.11.56. Do not worry, you will have latest version.

The problem is that I'm going just to rebuild boot and leave everything else as is, and my phone is rooted. When I upload boot.img from 46 firmware moto says it was downgraded.

Mixing and matching probably isn't a good idea. If you dont want to erase data, dont do any fastboot erase commands and you wont lose your /data partition. and if you dont flash system chunks you wont lose your /system partition. I recommend flashing everything else including modem/recovery/boot.img etc. Root should be maintained, if not, its easy to reflash root. Backup as always. Good luck.

Have you solved this? If not you will need to give me more info, especially the fastboot commands you used. You will need to wipe your phone data to change ROMs.

bricked phone, how to revert to stock?!
EDIT: Solved with somcom's toolkit. cwm now successfully installed, using adb push to sdcard to get rom onto phone, hopefully back in business in an hour or so. feel free to delete this post.....

hello, thanks so much for all your work - it's massively appreciated!
i've bricked my moto lte, i think by using fastboot rather than mfastboot and screwing up partition sizes, or possibly by doing something in the wrong order? either way fastboot logs follow....
is it possible to revert to stock without being able to boot phone/put files on it?
i have successfully unlocked bootloader
tried to flash CWM recovery via fastboot, seems to flash ok but then when rebooting into recovery device shows (nearly) black screen with some white flickers. i've since tried twrp recovery as well but this doesn't boot either, straight back to bootloader with "boot up failed" message.
i can boot into bootloader and access via fastboot on windows 7
i downloaded CWM recovery and CM rom on the moto (before erasing partitions and being unable to boot) and have copies on laptop too.
what have i done? how can i get recovery working to install a rom?
thanks so much for your help, sorry I couldn't find answer here (I tried!)

To answer your question, it is always possible to revert to stock as long as your phone can get into bootloader.
Having a quick look at log, it seems like you erased boot, recovery, system, data and cache. Only erase boot and recovery if you plan to replace it (you didn't replace boot.img). If you wish to flash a new rom, all you need to do is wipe system, data and cache. Glad you got it fixed.
thanks!
thanks, managed to get cm11 nightly on and runnin, just battling the gps bug now.... reverted to stock with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 (i know this is falcon instructions, i guess that's why recovery doesn't work? so i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/moto-g-4g-easyrecovery-toolkit-t2856710 on top to get cwm working, added Slim_mini_gapps.4.4.4.build.6-112 and myzip update.zip and all seems to be working nicely. hopefully i can use gps in the morning gotta love xda!

That is interesting. So you say the following should work?
Code:
fastboot oem lock begin
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
fastboot oem lock
I tried that but got a message about non-signed firmware and re-locking failed.
Are you using an older firmware than currently flashed on your phone? Relocking is a pointless exercise in my opinion - what benefit do you see in it?

lost101 is absolutely correct. Are you trying to flash the stock 5.1 firmware for your specific device? I am guessing no seeing as how your motoboit IMG is in a .zilp format.

Nope
I have similar issue on Moto G Falcon.
The fastboot factory images fail to write partitions. Also can't flash custom Roms. And this was sudden in the middle while I was using custom rom and the phone rebooted on its own one day and never booted up again.
