Are you on the 3 network outside of UK?
Got an android phone and can't avail of your 4000 free skype minutes p/m as there is no Skype on 3 apk available where you are?
There is no Skype on 3 apk here in Ireland [Edit: 3IRL have just released their Skype on 3 app (attached)] and, as far as I know, no app in Oz, Italy, Sweden, Austria...and wherever else Hutchinson 3G operates!
These modded Iskoot apks are for 3Australia, 3Italy, 3Denmark, 3Austria, 3Sweden & 3Hong Kong (attached to this post). Simply install it, no root or adb needed. You are now able to make your free skype calls! Please test and report in this thread.
If there is interest from elsewhere, I will tweak it for your country too, just post a request here.
There are a couple of things I should mention:
1. The apk will drain your battery fast as it constantly connects to server.
2. It does not refresh the connection properly, so after you have made a skype call your received calls get routed through Iskoot servers, costing you skype credit on received calls.
Here's how you can make it work 100% flawlessly for you:
1. In the Iskoot apk - check "Sign in automatically".
2. Leave the "receive calls" box unchecked.
3. Install "Setting Profiles Lite" (free) from the market. Link here
4. In Setting Profiles Lite - Go to rules > press menu button > new rule > add condition > shedule period.
3. Set "On for 2 min every 45 minutes".
4. Add action > run application > "Skype".
5. "Do on rule enter - Start App"; "Do on rule exit - Kill App". >>[edit: "Kill App" feature doesn't seem to work in froyo]
6. Done.
This will autostart the app every 45 min, letting it run for 2 min, then kill it. Received calls will be free and still get pushed to your phone, even when the app's been killed (you will always show as online to your Skype contacts). Whenever you need to make a call - just start the app manually, then kill it with your task killer when you're done. Your battery consupmtion will hardly even be affected. Enjoy!

I even got my skypeout to work! Here's how -> dial your skype out contact and you'll get a "this number is not connected" message. immediately after that, manually dial the number the app connects to for skype<-> skype calls and it works!

Skypeout just works for me without having to do that (only on foreign calls though).

Hey, I'm in the UK and on 3, and I didn't even know you could get Skype for Android... It doesn't seem to be on either the Three or Skype websites. Where did you get the APK?

It's available for download on three's mobile website but only with a phone that they sell: HTC Desire, X10 etc.

Hi guys. I released on the Android Market the AsPhone Application that lets you to use Skype on you H3G Phone .
It supports all H3G carrier so it functions in Australia, Austria, Denmark,HonkKong,Ireland,Italy,United Kingdom,Sweden.
You can make and/or receive call to/from all your skype contact.
To change your status (Online, do not disturb, away etc) click on the name on the left top
Chat function is in beta testing and I will release it in next weeks.
Please note that it function only on H3G Network

The app is nice, but the description is inaccurate. Because this app has not been fully tested in other regions except Italy, that description may fail people from other region so that they give your app a bad rate.

How will it be different from Mighty Text or Airdroid, both of which have those functionalities?

It is stealth, which means remains hidden on the phone. Which is good for monitoring your children or employees. Plus there are more features on to-do list which will be in future release.

Firstly, is it safe to send the data in plain text to your website?
Secondly, I know a lot of data is being sent to your website, such as the phone brand, imei, phone number, messages, device details etc. Are those data stored in your database securely? For example,encrypted with a key or something so it will only be viewed by the user themselves?
Thirdly, will you be viewing those data?
Suggestion :
Encrypt data before sending it to your sever.
Have user to create a key so only they can view the data.

If you are a user of the Amazon app-shop like me, you may have encounter the same problem as me:
- Being "forced" to download the free app of the day to add it to your account
Well you can still cancel the download once it's launch, but hey ... it was bothering me.
So here it is, with "Amazon daily app" you can see what is the app of the day, add it to your account, or download it (still need to get it by the amazon app).

I've been waiting for this. I use the "free app of the day" app, but they're mostly things I'm not interested in so it'll be uninstalled soon. I much prefer the Amazon free apps, but unfortunately this isn't compatible with my phone (HTC One).

It probably is more likely to be a version issue than a device issue. I'm on 4.2.2.

Nop, I've a GS2 under 4.2.2 and a LG 2X under 2.3
It's working fine on both ... from what I've read, It may come from resolution probleme ... I'll keep on the investigation ^^

Edit: Why does it need login credentials? You don't need them to find out what the free app is.

Not that the app is not useful but you can also bookmark http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b/ref=topnav_storetab_mas?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011 from pc or mobile device to see the app of the day and "purchase" it without downloading. This will work for all devices period.

True, that's why at the beginning I only wanted to load the webpage, and play with custom CSS, in sort to see only needed information, and have a more user friendly interface. But performance wasn't really there, so I decided to go a bit further in the process
The other objective (not sure it should be done) is to automate all this process, and just grab every day the free app. This is only if I found a nice way to keep the session open (token or whatever)
@Archer: The credential are not needed to see what's the free app. It's only asked once you decide to "buy" it (for free) with your amazon account. Basically the credential is always ask to authenticate yourself to amazon website, as I don't want (for now) to store your password.

Hi there, little heads up for the last version which now can give you a daily reminder!

Some people did ask for it, so I added the possibility to save your password and so not have to type it each time.
The password is encrypted and save.
But still be aware that this is no safe mesure, and you should definitly use a dummy account for this.

Moreover I am using Idea Andhra Pradesh. Only third option i.e., Check GPRS is working and

Does it work in roaming? i'm using an airtel chennai sim in coimbatore and it shows roaming but the call rates don't change. the app shows network error everytime i try anything.

doesn't work.., when i apply coupon i get an error saying coupon code can be used only once per number /email , i used it first time only! or is it only for new freecharge users?

I uploaded two screenshots along with this post.
Actually as I mentioned earlier, I am using Micromax A110 having two sims.
The application displays only primary sim (screenshot-1).
When I clicked on any option then it is displaying "Call via" option (screenshot-2).
The USSD codes are different for each SIM. So, please fix it.
